HiPRWind is an EU-funded project that began in late 2010 to develop innovative structural solutions and component technology for very large offshore wind turbines on floating platforms. A consortium of 19 partners, including industry leaders and research organizations, will work together over 5 years to design, fabricate, install, and commission a floating offshore wind turbine with a 10 MW capacity. The project aims to advance offshore wind technology to enable development in medium-deep waters.
