Weekly Progress
In this week we had to use different circuit pieces by adjusting the provided materials or some functions in the original machine. In doing so,
we copied all circuit pieces into Printed Circuit Boards (PCB). Each team member brought each of their own parts to experiment and find the
circuit errors in order to make adjustments; by assembling each function and testing its validity.
I was responsible for Water Flow Censor so I needed to connect it with microcontroller. The result showed that after the censor was
frequently experimented, the signal displayed error. To illustrate, it should be able to measure the flow rate at 0.5 to 60 L/min, but at this
experimentation it could not measure at all. Due to error in the censor, the Microcontroller had an error in decoding and thus the other parts
malfunctioned. We also learned from making PCB that the procedure could be quite complicated and involved several steps, e.g., making
PCB from transparencies. We learned that making PCB from dry film is the fastest way and it can also produce PCB with thin detailed lines.
Dry films are sensitive to UV. We can work with dry films under the ceiling light, but not under light bulbs. Dry films should not be left alone
for too long otherwise go broken. This involves a lot of details, therefore we should be careful when making PCB. We needed to be careful
through each step in order for the PCB to be refined so that we do not have to waste time redoing it.

Strong I have learned about the whole system functionality of the product from the previous week’s experiment. Therefore I can assume which part has
errors or miss any single detail. Moreover, I was able to clearly see my colleagues’ circuit patterns so it was easier to solve the potential problems of the
product assembled by team members.
Week Point During experimentation, I clearly saw the errors in the machine or its function. Some of them had inaccuracies such as LED display,
error of flow rate in the censor, or even insufficient power supply.
Next Week Job
Next week we will have to assemble every piece and function with the main structure. We will see the actual complete product with all of its functions.
