This weekly reflection summarizes the filming progress, including: 1) The arrival of the second female lead allowed filming to properly begin with all main actors available. 2) An initial photo shoot captured all four main characters together for the poster. 3) Early filming focused on scenes requiring all actors and testing outdoor locations. 4) Nearly all of the second female lead's scenes were completed during this productive shooting period.

1. WEEKLY REFLECTION 8
This week saw the arrival of Olivia Maiden. The actor playing Skye Matthews and the second female lead. This arrival led to
the production being able to start filming properly, as we now had every single actor available to us. (Barring Angie Sutcliffe,
who was cast this week as Maria Jordan; the mother of one of the main characters. The actress was cast on a
recommendation from Olivia.) Olivia’s arrival also meant we could get the photo we needed for the main poster: A shot of
all four main characters, in costume stood together. After this shoot we had some rehearsals. Which were much easier with
ever actor present. We taped some of it for posterity, before heading up to the office set to film scenes that required all of
the actors. My first priority was this. As actor availability for each person was almost completely different. And it became
clear quite quickly that it would be very rare to have every single actor needed present for a full shooting day. This can be
mitigated however, with clever shots and stand ins. After we had completed the shots needed in the office (Mostly from
episodes 1,2 and 3) We set off outside to the original set for the twins camp. An underpass covered in graffiti. Which I
thought would be a perfect aesthetic for the twins. This proved technically correct: Visually the set worked fine. But in
terms of sound. It was very troublesome getting a good, wind free sound recording. So the shooting progressed slower than
it would have otherwise due to a fairly large amount of ruined takes. All in all though it proved productive. And shooting
continued on into Tuesday and Wednesday. We filmed different scenes from all four episodes. As the idea was to just shoot
whatever the location and costumes the actors were wearing allowed for. Through this method, we were able to complete
large chunks of filming in a very short period of time. Nearly all of Olivia Maiden’s scenes were completed. I took the time to
scout Hoggs Pond and the woods outside of York College for future scenes. As well as the River Ouse. Where I plan to film
scenes from certain episodes at a later date. I’ve also helped arrange travel and accommodation for Angie Sutcliffe, an
actress cast as the mother of one of the main characters, who will come towards the end of filming from Bury to film her
scenes over a two day period. It was also during this week, that I realised it would be good to have a full ambient
soundtrack as opposed to just themes for each individual character. So I continued working with the composer to create
different tracks for different tones and styles of scenes. All together, I now have nearly 20 minutes of original soundtrack. A
very productive result. Editing has yet to begin properly outside of some basic trailers, as we don’t yet have enough footage
to compose a full scene, instead we have snippets from all over the series. However this should change by next Monday.
When we hope to get the bulk of the filming done. Finally. There was an issue on the Tuesday of Filming, wherein a tripod
was lost on set during an exterior shoot. Despite our best efforts, we were unable to find it. And therefore didn’t have a
tripod to film with the next day, which forced us to rely on handheld shots. I have arranged to pay for a replacement tripod
as soon as possible.
