Our Film Diary

                               Saturday 26th November

We got to the Dog and Gun Pub in Great Leigh’s at 3:30pm.
We took photos of both the cast acting, the setting, us setting up the scene and us
                                      filming.

We started by filming the characters entering the pub one by one, with the HD camera
set up so that it was face on to the actors. This way we could get the effect of the
characters entering the pub and the camera being the audiences and locals point of
                                          view.

These are the pictures of the actors entering the pub.

These are pictures of Jess and Amy filming the front of the actors walking into the
                                       pub.

We found it quite hard to get the right angle so that we could film the full length of
the actors without getting too much of the background in. This meant that we had to
take quite a few takes and we all had a go to see if each of us could come up with the
                              best position for the camera.
After we had filmed the actors walking towards the camera and entering the pub we
then took a few takes of the walking past the camera so that they could form a line.
We filmed this in a mid-shot and we also used a panning shot. These are pictures of
Lauren filming this section of the trailer.

We decided that as well as having the seven characters that are being disruptive to the
general setting of the pub we should include someone that would have been in the pub
the whole time. We decided that Amy should play this role as we didn’t have any
extra actors to use. These are the pictures of her standing behind the bar.

These are some extra photos that we took whilst filming that includes a coat rack and
just the interior of the pub, the coat rack shows that it is more of a homely pub so
when these people are entering the pub there is more of a disruption.

We then had to film the actors entering the pub from the outside, as we were filming
this at around 5pm at the end of November it got dark really quickly and early, this
meant that we had to use a number or cars which we parked near where we wanted
the actors to be so that we could turn on their headlights for extra light. By having
them in the dark means that we can show they have gone on a night out.
Finally these are the pictures of the actors walking into the pub and they also show
where we place the camera to get the best effect with the use of the lighting.
