The pre proposal for my fmp

1. Tell me in no more than20 words, what is your
FMP idea?
A dramaticweb-series focusing on four characters
with mental illnesses meeting each otherand a
mystery thatconnects them.
Why have youdecided to makeit? Because I have alwayshad an interest in mental
illness and how it is portrayedin the media, as
well as the potential for storytellingthat would
ensue if several people with severe affliction
interacted in a normalenvironment.
What aboutyourproject makesit importantto
you?
Since I began makingfilms, I havealways wanted
to makea dedicatedseries focusing arounda
groupof original characters, as I enjoy writing the
scripts andstories for my works. I alsohave a very
personalinterest in mentalillness as portrayedin
media andwould like totake a spin at portraying
it sympathetically.
Outline someof the initial influences onyour
idea/work and somepotential research targets
(remember, research isn’t justa paperbased
activity)
A lot of my influence comes from Episodic series
like; The Hauntingof Hill House: Every episode
won’tnecessarily follow on from the other, but
will instead tell the samestory from a different
pointof view. Anotherinfluence comes from the
2016 movie;Hush. Inwhich a woman with a
disability (Being deaf and mute) hasto rely onher
wits and play to her strengthsto escape a
murderousstranger. The idea pf playingto the
strengthsof a disability is somethingI’dlike to
explore. I will need to research the separate
illnesses my characters are inflicted with (D.I.D, Bi-
Polar disorder, SchizophreniaandSociopathy.)As
well as how they are commonly portrayedin
modernmedia.
What effect do youwant to haveon your
audience when they see yourproject?
I want the audience to considerthe difficulty of
living with a mental illness, butmore than that, I
want them toconsider how it can be a positive
influence ona life. With several hugecharacter
buildingpossibilities andhavinga uniqueoutlook
on life being two possibilities when youare
suffering mental illness.

Describe the tone/mood/styleofyourproject
[which productiontechniques/characteristicsare
youemploying?]
The overall tone of the project will be mostly
Dramatic, with smatteringsof dark comedy as the
characters make light of their often depressing
situation. Itwill be shotusingmostly tripodshots.
But handheldmay be appropriatewhen a
character is suffering a breakdown, or the scene is
action oriented.
Why have youdecided to makeyour project in
this style?
I havedecided tomake the series dramatic in
order to ensure thatthe characters and their
afflictions are portrayedrealistically andtaken
seriously. As a comedic tone could robthe
productionof a coherent message.
