“God’s Spirit-Filled People”
“Oceans of Grace: The Reality
Before the Throne”
The Book of Acts is about Breakthroughs.
Paul Pierson says, "Jerusalem, Judea and Samaria, and the farther parts
of the earth" as described in Acts 1:8, symbolize the breaking of an
almost infinite number of barriers in order that men and women
everywhere might hear and respond to the Good News. Just as God in
Christ broke though the barriers which separated eternity from time,
divinity from humanity, holiness from sin, so His people are to break
through geographical, racial, linguistic, religious, cultural and social
barriers in order that people of every race and tongue might receive the
Good News.
In Biblical times, the sea was a symbol of chaos. In Revelation, John
describes the vision of a slain Lamb on a throne, but "in front of the
throne was something like a sea of glass, like crystal.
Jesus has calmed the chaos of the sea and of our lives.
In today's sermon, Jim Trott made many good points on chaos and how
Jesus overcame the chaos. But the three things to remember are:
 We have hope in His grace.
 We can be confident to follow the Lamb into the fray with His
grace.
 God's plan of blessing extends to everyone, everywhere.
