Andrew attended our church and was active in Crossfire Youth
ministries here.
Andrew shared his experiences in China as an English teacher and
violin instructor.

Harvest Festival - Oct. 30
Please pray this week for Kairos
Outside, a special weekend event.
Kairos Outside is a special weekend retreat designed to support the
female loved ones of men and women who are or have been
incarcerated. Families of the incarcerated "do time" right along with
their loved ones. In a safe environment with loving people, women
interact with other women who are in similar situations and learn to
form small support groups to give them strength for the challenges
they face.
The Weekend Retreat is a series of talks and activities by women
sharing their life journey. Each Guest has the opportunity to
review the talks in small family groups. However, sharing in the
small family group is voluntary. The program is interspersed with
music, prayer, fun activities and general pampering. The Weekend
is Christian in nature, although no religious affiliation is necessary
to attend.

An Important Message from the
WCUMC Trustees
The Trustees Committee has recommended
that we replace the 50-year-old oil-fired
boiler (converted to natural gas in the 90’s)
with two hi-efficiency gas-fired furnaces to
heat the Gathering Place and the Celebration
Hall.
This will be much more efficient and enable
us to heat the two areas independently.
The cost of the project is estimated at
$45,000 and we are asking the congregation to fund half of it.
Since winter is fast approaching, there is some urgency in acquiring
these funds so that the contractor can get started by early October.

4. Calling All Singers
Singers are needed, wanted and encouraged to come join the
choir. If you have a youth that goes to Crossfire, we meet at the
same time. Rehearsal is every Wednesday in the Sanctuary at 7:15
PM and goes for about an hour. Come early and get the best seat in
the "loft".
The Storehouse Food Bank Is
Having a Cereal Drive
WCUMC has a goal to collect 200 CEREAL BOXES, during
October. Donations can be placed in the barrels at the front or back
doors of the church whenever the church is open.

5. New Wednesday Women's Bible
Study begins Oct. 21

Broken and Blessed is a six-week stud that traces the story of the
Genesis family from Adam and Eve through the generations to
Joseph, bringing blessing from brokenness.
