Sharing the transforming love of Jesus, across the street and around the world.

                       "Advent 2012
                    The Hope of Christ"

The first Sunday of Advent 2012 is acknowledged by Rev. Lindsay Eklund
and her family as she lights the first candle of Advent - the candle of
Hope.

Pastor Rick Vinther led an inspiring service as he spoke of the "comings"
of Christ. Advent indicates that something remarkable is coming, but
God is always coming into our life as evidenced by:
His earthly birth 2,000 years ago.
His continually coming to us through the Word.
His coming in final victory (the Second Coming).

The reality of God's presence and "comings" into our lives is proven by
the historical evidence and celebration of Christ's coming to fulfill the
long awaited promise, the personal transformation He brings to our
lives, and God's promise of the Second Coming.

These realities combine to affect our daily lives in many ways.

The give us a solid foundation for our faith.
They give us power and confidence to live a life free of fear and
filled with the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
They give us joy and hope in knowing that God fulfills His
promises and that we will live with Him forever.

That is the HOPE OF CHRIST. And that is the HOPE OF ADVENT.
