Be glad in the Lord always! Again I say, be glad! 5
Let your
gentleness show in your treatment of all people. The Lord is near. 6
Don’t be anxious about anything; rather, bring up all of your requests
to God in your prayers and petitions, along with giving thanks. 7
Then
the peace of God that exceeds all understanding will keep your
hearts and minds safe in Christ Jesus.

From now on, brothers and sisters, if anything is excellent and if
anything is admirable, focus your thoughts on these things: all that is
true, all that is holy, all that is just, all that is pure, all that is
lovely, and all that is worthy of praise. 9
Practice these things:
whatever you learned, received, heard, or saw in us.
The God of peace will be with you.
Because of our connection with Christ, our inner attitudes do not
have to reflect our outward circumstances

2. Worry about nothing --- pray about everything!!
And do so with THANKSGIVING!!

For Personal or Group Reflection
1. Who makes peace in your family (or group of friends)? How do they
do it?
2. Reflect on the characteristics expressed in Philippians 4:4-9.
3. How is your heart and mind guarded? Think of circumstances
where you felt that peace of God (v. 7). Explain
4. What is your anxiety level now? Why?
5. What are you focusing your thoughts on? What changes are
needed?

4. New Furnace Update
Thanks to your generous donations, we
have raised now more than $16,000
toward our $22,500 goal.
We are well on our way to replace the 50-
year-old oil-fired boiler (converted to
natural gas in the 90’s) with two hi-
efficiency gas-fired furnaces to heat the
Gathering Place and the Celebration Hall.
Further donations can be made to WCUMC, with "Furnace" in the
memo line. Thank you.
Carols on Wednesday is Coming

PRIORITY NEEDS FOR NOVEMBER ARE PASTA AND TOMATO SAUCE.
As we approach Thanksgiving, we need to continue to support the
food bank with the items shown below. Any additional cash
donations are welcomed as we need to buy special items for a
holiday meal for our clients.

6. Outdoor Adventures
Planning Potluck
On Saturday, November 21, Outdoor Adventures will have a summer
planning potluck and game night. We'll start at 5:30 with a
potluck. During dinner, we will share slides of last year's trips.
After dinner, we'll ask people to vote on summer overnight camping
trips for next year - e.g. Mt. St Helens Ape Caves, Dungeness Spit
Kayaking/Hiking, Mt. Rainier, etc.
We can't do them all, so we need your feedback. After planning and
voting, we will enjoy our favorite group/board games. Please sign up
in the Narthex. This is for all ages, but let us knows on the sign-up
sheets if you need childcare.

Children's Church at 9 AM. The Pageant will be held on Sunday,
December 6 at 10:30.
