Pitch: how to pitch
Week 8
Type of pitches:
● Elevator pitch, 45 seconds
● Pitch for a competition to set up a meeting with VC, 3 - 5 minutes
● Pitch for a VC meeting for fundraising for 30 minutes and up to a hour
Purpose:
● Elevator pitch is for networking:
It gets their interest for yourself or your business quickly
● Pitch for a competition is for setting up a meeting with VCs:
Your pitch pulls VCs’ interest that they want to talk to you and will be curious
about your business
● Pitch for a VC meeting is for fundraising:
Your presentation needs to cover more detail like team’s background, current
business, product, and technology
Don’t mix up types of pitches and
their purpose!

5. Product: How user can use product, user flow or use case
6. Benefit (for users)
7. Traction (qualitative, quantitative)
8. Market size (total addressable market)

12. Team (why you guys? What’s special about you?)
13. Future plan (what could you do in the future)
14. Investment: (how much raising now? In Japan, you cannot do that)
