Greek art and design had a significant influence on many other cultures around the world, especially in sculpture and architecture. Artists throughout European history drew inspiration from Greek aesthetics and technical mastery. Greek art is divided into four periods - Geometric, Archaic, Classical, and Hellenistic. Each period had advances in pottery, metal vessels, figurines, monumental sculpture, coin design, architecture, painting, and other art forms that built upon the past and evolved over time.
