The Jeulmun Pottery Period in Korean prehistory spans from around 8000 BC to 1500 BC. This period is named for the comb-patterned pottery vessels that were commonly found across sites from 4000-2000 BC. Excavations since the 1990s have revealed that the Jeulmun Period was one of hunting, gathering, and small-scale plant cultivation. People lived in semi-permanent settlements with pit-houses.
