Blankets wrap people in love
A group of 14 ladies have created
and donated hundreds of fleece
tie blankets to those in need.
Recently, they delivered the
blankets to Bismarck Early
Childhood Education Program.
Since 2012, the group has
worked throughout the winter
months to make the blankets.
Local organizations, like Carrie’s
Kids, Abused Adult Resource
Center, The Highway Patrol,
BECEP, and Youth Works, have
received the blankets to give to
people their agencies help.
Diane Schaefer, a member of
Touchmark Health & Fitness Club, started the group. Both KX and KFYR featured the story on the
news. “We see a great need in our community, and we felt that blankets are something that provide
warmth and comfort ... so it is an opportunity to minister to those that are needy, and we just felt
really good about it” says Diane.

Let’s read!
During the recent National Reading Month,
Touchmark celebrated by participating in the
VoiceBook project. People signed up to record a
book for a child in their life, and Touchmark sent the
book and a CD of the recorded reading to the child.
“This fantastic program allows children to have a
recording of their grandparent, brother, sister, or
other important adult reading them a bedtime or
anytime story. It’s a great way to promote reading
as well as provide a keepsake,” says Touchmark Life
Enrichment Director Amy Miller.
