Carraroe and District Community Text Alert committee
Invite all community members to the official launch of Community Alert and Text
Alert on this Sunday 8th June at 4pm in Carraroe Community Centre.
The launch will commence with a blessing followed by a short presentation by Muintir
na Tire as to how text alert benefits all community members. Programme partners
An Garda Siochana will also be present.
The Launch will be followed by light refreshments music and storytelling....so please
do come along for what promises to be a very enjoyable event.
Confirmation 2014
Congratulation to the boys and girls who received the
Sacrament of Confirmation in our parish, last Wednesday.
As they shortly journey to secondary school, we wish them
every blessing.
Parish History Book and 50th
Anniversary of our School
We are continuing to work on the new history book of our Parish. This book will
reflect the wide history of our community, Church, School, G.A.A., Holy Well and
beyond. If you have old photographs from parish or school events, please contact the
Parish office. All photographs will be returned. Also, historical stories, folklore, or
reflections on the parish and wider community in the past would be very helpful.
2. Photographs of the school events are also required for the 50th
anniversary
celebrations.
Baptism Course
Congratulation to James Henry and Erin May Hackett, Caltragh Heights, and we
welcome Henry Flynn and Eleanor Frances Rose into the Christian Community.
Baptism course for all who are preparing for Baptism takes place on the third
Thursday of each month in the Family Life Centre, Church Hill, Sligo. Contact the
parish for further information and registration.
Accord – Sligo
Pre-marriage course are provided by the Sligo Centre in the Radisson Hotel
on a Friday evening and on Saturday. Contact the Accord Office at
0719145641 to book the course. The course should be completed at least 6
months in advance of the marriage date.

Bishop Boetius Egan was bishop of the Elphin Diocese in 1637. His report on
the diocese makes interesting reading in Tobernalt Holy Well – History and
Heritage. Copies available from the Church Bookstand, Veritas or Liber
Bookshop, Sligo.

Charity Concert in Sligo Cathedral
Roscommon Solstice Choir (150 members) will be joined by Charlie Mc
Gettigan and Sandy Kelly on Fri 20th
June at 8pm in Sligo Cathedral for a

Vocations to Diocesan Priesthood
The Elphin Diocese is now accepting enquires from
prospective men who may wish to join Diocesan Priesthood
in our Diocese. Further information from our Diocesan
