The primary objective of this report was to provide a market overview of the requested standards within the IT security compliance industry along with their adoption rates by relevant geographies, identification of the most attractive growth pockets globally to scale operations, and a detailed competitive landscape / bolt-on acquisition targets list. Standards included were PCI; HIPAA; HITRUST; EI3PA; FedRamp; SOC 1 and SOC 2; GDPR; and NYDFS. As a part of an exercise to identify the most attractive geography pockets for IT security compliance to scale operations globally, we provided a detailed cybersecurity preparedness research for each country to eventually come up with necessary insights to present the most suitable countries to invest in from a US PE portfolio company perspective. We then screened hundreds of companies and identified 151 relevant competitors / bolt-on acquisition targets and have presented them in a matrix format outlaying their presence across standards along with ownership details in a standardized profile template. From a PE perspective, we believe that this industry is perfectly positioned for a roll-up strategy. Broadening the scope of solutions offered to sell more to one client, coupled with scalability through cloud adoption and outsourcing the operations/support functions will likely enhance incremental value in the respective target. While the full report is exclusively prepared for the said client, we have provided a gist of our overall analysis to showcase our research capabilities, especially for a niche market such as IT security compliance.

It provides visibility into applications and business transactions made out of multiple smaller decoupled (micro) services deployed in a Docker environment using the Docker monitoring solution. The AppDynamics Docker Monitoring Extension monitors and reports on various metrics, such as: total number of containers, running containers, images, CPU usage, memory usage, network traffic, etc. The AppDynamics Docker monitoring extension gathers metrics from the Docker Remote API, either using Unix Socket or TCP giving you the choice for data collection protocol. For our next ArcReady, we will explore a topic on everyone’s mind: Cloud computing. Several industry companies have announced cloud computing services . In October 2008 at the Professional Developers Conference, Microsoft announced the next phase of our Software + Services vision: the Azure Services Platform. The Azure Services Platforms provides a wide range of internet services that can be consumed from both on premises environments or the internet. Session 1: Cloud Services In our first session we will explore the current state of cloud services. We will then look at how applications should be architected for the cloud and explore a reference application deployed on Windows Azure. We will also look at the services that can be built for on premise application, using .NET Services. We will also address some of the concerns that enterprises have about cloud services, such as regulatory and compliance issues. Session 2: The Azure Platform In our second session we will take a slightly different look at cloud based services by exploring Live Mesh and Live Services. Live Mesh is a data synchronization client that has a rich API to build applications on. Live services are a collection of APIs that can be used to create rich applications for your customers. Live Services are based on internet standard protocols and data formats.

For more than decade .NET has been used primarily in enterprise software development. We all remember intranet deployment, IIS, SQL Server, N-tier applications and so on. The toolset (Visual Studio, SQL Management Studio, IIS Management snap-in etc) seemed to be set in stone as well as architecture (controllers, services, repositories). .NET people were isolated from other folks, who were using clusters, containers, clouds, and Linux. However, adoption of clouds during few past years, the release of .NET Core made much more choices available to developers. It turned out that traditional way of building application is not that efficient from many viewpoints, including costs, time, performance or robustness. It happens because the environment has been changed and many assumptions are not still relevant. In this talk, we will discuss what and why has been changed and how to deal with that. What are new requirements for our applications? What are new services available, and how to use them wisely? And finally, how should we design our applications to be cost-effective, competitive and have a lot of fun working with .NET Core.

AI/ML Infra Meetup May. 23, 2024 Organized by Alluxio For more Alluxio Events: https://www.alluxio.io/events/ Speaker: - Junchen Jiang (Assistant Professor of Computer Science, @University of Chicago) Prefill in LLM inference is known to be resource-intensive, especially for long LLM inputs. While better scheduling can mitigate prefill’s impact, it would be fundamentally better to avoid (most of) prefill. This talk introduces our preliminary effort towards drastically minimizing prefill delay for LLM inputs that naturally reuse text chunks, such as in retrieval-augmented generation. While keeping the KV cache of all text chunks in memory is difficult, we show that it is possible to store them on cheaper yet slower storage. By improving the loading process of the reused KV caches, we can still significantly speed up prefill delay while maintaining the same generation quality.

Science gateways allow science and engineering communities to access shared data, software, computing services, and instruments. Science gateways have gained a lot of traction in the last twenty years, as evidenced by projects such as the Science Gateways Community Institute (SGCI) and the Center of Excellence on Science Gateways (SGX3) in the US, The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) and its platforms in Australia, and the projects around Virtual Research Environments in Europe. A few mature frameworks have evolved with their different strengths and foci and have been taken up by a larger community such as the Globus Data Portal, Hubzero, Tapis, and Galaxy. However, even when gateways are built on successful frameworks, they continue to face the challenges of ongoing maintenance costs and how to meet the ever-expanding needs of the community they serve with enhanced features. It is not uncommon that gateways with compelling use cases are nonetheless unable to get past the prototype phase and become a full production service, or if they do, they don't survive more than a couple of years. While there is no guaranteed pathway to success, it seems likely that for any gateway there is a need for a strong community and/or solid funding streams to create and sustain its success. With over twenty years of examples to draw from, this presentation goes into detail for ten factors common to successful and enduring gateways that effectively serve as best practices for any new or developing gateway.
