Abstract The large scale IaaS systems could store virtual appliances in several repositories. The deployment time could heavily vary depending on the connection properties of the repository storing the appliance. A virtual appliance is a virtual machine image designed to run on a virtualization platform i.e. Virtual Box, Xen, VMware Workstation. Virtual appliance delivery requires the modification of the underlying IaaS systems. IaaS is the virtual delivery of computing resources in the form of hardware, networking, and storage services This concept will reduce the variance in deployment time by introducing the concept of online active repositories and appliance optimization. To provide efficient delivery time in IaaS and to increase the efficiency of IaaS (Infra structure as a service) system To calculate the delivery time when deployed it in the virtualized platform Combining the both online and manual repositories for calculating the delivery time To construct the appliance in online using various online repositories The constructed appliance is deployed in the virtualized platform (using virtual box). And the appliance is optimized for increasing the efficiency and decreasing the delivery time. This method enables users to dynamically add and/or delete one or more instances on the basis of the load and the conditions specified by the user. Our objective is to develop an effective load balancing algorithm using Virtual Machine Monitoring to

Dynamic resource Allocation using Virtual Machines For Cloud Computing
In Cloud computing, application and desktop delivery are the two emerging technologies that has reduced
application and desktop computing costs and provided greater IT and user flexibility compared to
traditional application and desktop management models. Among the various SaaS technologies, XenApp
that allow numerous end users to connect to their corporate applications from any device. XenApp enables
organizations to improve application management by centralizing applications in the datacenter to reduce
costs, controlling and encrypting access to data and applications to improve security and delivering
applications instantly to users anywhere by remotely accessing or streaming. As per old architecture we
were using the oracle or MS-SQL in the backend of XenApp on Windows Server itself. But as we know for
this we have to pay for database especially because we are not using it for any other purpose. And as we
know windows is GUI based so running database over it consumes much more resources. So, it can lead to
single point of failure. For this, this paper proposes a scheme for removing this problem by using the HA
failover cluster based SQL server (mysql or Oracle) which will run over Linux box having concept of VIP
(Virtual IP).
Cloud computing is a technique that has a great capabilities and benefits for users. Cloud characteristics
encourage many organizations to move to this technology. But many consideration faces transmission

The fields of research and applied sciences for Mechatronics applications of industrialized country are different from developing country such as Republic of Benin. Since agriculture, farm work, animal breeding, livestock and fishery are among the vital sector and the potential economic power of Republic of Benin; in this paper we will discuss the opportunities and challenges of Mechatronics Education in Republic of Benin. Therefore the research is based on innovation and creativity in a multidisciplinary design concept that is able to solve the traditional problem of the primary sector which consists of: agriculture, breeding and fishing in Republic of Benin. steady movement of the vehicle. It consists of two yokes, one on each shaft, connected by a cross-shaped intermediate member i.e.
spider. Motion transmission system of vehicles consist several components which sometimes encounter unfortunate failures. Some
common reasons for the failures may be manufacturing and design faults, maintenance faults, raw material faults, material processing
faults as well as the user originated faults. In this paper finite element analysis of the component is carried out to find the stress and
displacement of the final product. For modeling of the component, CATIA V5 R17 software is used. Preprocessing work like meshing
and analysis work is carried out in HYPERWORKS software. Using FEA analysis, we can identify the nature and characteristics of
stresses acting on the yoke and also evaluate the influence of the loads/ mass/ geometry/ boundary conditions over the yoke.

Abstract Autoclaved Aerated Concrete (AAC) is also being produced for many years, there are still some points that need to be clarified. One of these points needs to know is humidity intrusion effects on AAC members in areas with high relative humidity levels of Mediterranean climates which are important in durability and insulation properties of AAC. Therefore, some tests on mechanical and physical properties of ACC concrete carried out. These include thermal insulation and fire resistance tests under different level of humidity ACC blocks. According to the test results; increasing in humidity condition inside the chamber during heating procedure under steady state condition, caused increasing in average temperature change on outside surface of AAC wall. Abstract An investigation of the effect of resin finishing on the properties of conventional and compact cotton yarn is reported. It is shown that compact yarns suffer greater weight losses than those of conventional yarns following cross linking treatment. Bending rigidity shows an increase with the concentration of sodium hydroxide prior to cross linking in both conventional and compact yarns. The yarn structure also plays an important role in resin finishing.

Abstract This paper presents very simple and economical way to monitor and control boilers process used in chemical, pharmaceutical companies remotely with the help of internet. Microcontroller ATmega128 is used to which all sensors and devices are interfaced at its I/O pins. A Stand-Alone Ethernet Controller IC which handles most of the network protocol requirements ENC28J60 is interfaced to the microcontroller using SPI interface and acts as a communication media between microcontroller ATmega128 and remote user. The TCP/IP stack, application source code, and dynamic web page is stored in microcontroller ATmega128. Dynamic webpage is the key element which eliminates physical presence of user in the field and thus saves the labour time and money. The case study was carried out in the industrial estate in Anand district of Gujarat, India. Data was collected through a five point s Likert type summated rating scales of structured questionnaires from strongly disagree to strongly agree were adopted to identify underlying indicators. There are no compressive and empirical researches in the estate especially on the industrial performance and hence industrial productivity. Sophisticated statistical model as “Exploratory Factor Analysis” (EFA) has been used. The results show four factors extract from the analysis that together accounted 75.352 % of the total variance. The heating pattern of the microwave dehydrator for treating petroleum crude ...eSAT Journals
Abstract The effect of microwave dehydrator (modified domestic microwave oven) different types of petroleum oils were investigated in this paper, since microwave heats material selectively and volumetrically in relatively short time, and since its application in treating petroleum emulsion is tremendously recommended, thereof, it is the aim of this paper to investigate the microwave induced heating capacities of the individual components of the petroleum emulsion mixture. Three types of crude petroleum oils and water samples were put into test, from the result of this study, the temperature profile was observed to proceed as follow, at the first 20 seconds, all samples had similar temperature profiles in the range (50-60 ⁰C), however, beyond 20 seconds there was a clear distinct trend for every sample, in the interval from 20 seconds to 110 seconds, water sample had the curve with the highest temperature profile followed by UAE crude oil, then Saudi Arabia oil. Beyond 110 seconds, Kuwait crude oil had the maximum temperature profile continued sharply without reaching any plateau, followed by UAE then Saudi Arabia crude oil. The volumetric rate of heat generation also found to be in such a way that water sample had the maximum numerical value in the range (1-1.2 cal/s.cm3) at the beginning then decays as the heating time goes on, followed by that of Kuwait oil (0.8-1 cal/s.cm3), then Saudi Arabia crude oil (0.6-0.8 cal/s.cm3). Furthermore water also found to have the highest dielectric loss ranged between (7-8) and lowest wavelength in the range (1.5-2) followed by all the oil samples which had constant and identical dielectric properties in the range (0-0.5) and wavelength of 8 Cm. from the experimental results of this research, one can conclude that although both water and crude oils can interact effectively with microwave radiation yet the mechanism may not be the same since oils were shown to have very low dielectric loss. Another observation is different crude oils have different heating pattern, there this had to be into consideration when studying crude emulsion or refining. Abstract Friction Stir Welding (FSW) is a solid state welding process. In particular, it can be used to join high-strength aerospace magnesium and other metallic alloys that are hard to weld by conventional fusion welding. It was performed on 4 mm thickness AZ91 Magnesium alloy. Magnesium alloy have more advantage than aluminum such as light weight, softer, tendency to bend easily, cost effective in terms of energy requirements so magnesium alloy has selected in this FSW technique. In friction stir welding (FSW), a momentous residual stress is present in weld due to complex nature of fixturing system compared to fusion welding. These residual stresses can affect properties of welded components during service. Therefore, for estimating magnitude of welding residual stresses and their nature of distribution along with thermal history, a three dimensional non- linear thermo-mechanical finite element (NLTMFE) model using ABAQUS/ CAE package was developed for butt welded magnesium alloy AZ91. The objective of this work is to predict the temperature distribution in both materials and evaluate the mechanical properties during the friction stir welding on magnesium alloy. Abstract Urban growth has resulted in increasing demand for energy primarily in form of electricity. With depleting energy resources, growing concern for promotion of alternative energy sources urban housing is going through a transition phase. There is a greater need for promotion of on-site microgeneration systems at community level to ensure a near zero sustainable domestic sector. The paper tries to define three major concerns that need to be addressed in ensuring near zero housing communities – the first being understanding the character of existing renewable energy strategies and promoting them in the context of changing housing typologies, second, identifying the need for development of hybrid energy generation systems in conjunction with renewable energy systems to balance energy demand at times of climatic inconsistencies, the third concern being the integration of on-site microgeneration infrastructure within the context of the built environment without altering the existing character and aesthetics. Experimental analysis and thermal comfort index of air conditioned meeting halleSAT Journals
Abstract India’s building energy consumption is increasing continuously. The subcontinent does not have custom made thermal comfort standards. We conducted thermal comfort field study in meeting hall, Madurai, tamilnadu, india. Experimental study of thermal comfort was conducted in three levels of load conditions and three levels of air flow in meeting hall during summer 2014. The above three level of load condition and air flow measurements values observed by using direct reading instruments. Thermal comfort indices were also calculated and compare to the natural ventilated meeting hall and outdoor environment. This study aims to evaluate the indoor comfort quality of the meeting hall. This paper is focused on improving the indoor air quality by controlling the vital parameters like carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, oxygen, room temperature, relative velocity and relative humidity which were used as indicators for indoor air quality and comfort levels. The investigated meeting hall building is located in India, tamilnadu, Madurai and the volume of the building is about 10.60m (length) × 9.14m (width) × 3m (height). This paper provides the detailed specifications to improve the thermal comfort in the air conditioned living atmosphere and ensure safety and healthy living environment. Performance investigation of closed loop pulsating heat pipe with acetone as ...eSAT Journals
Abstract
The closed-loop pulsating heat pipe is a type of small heat transfer device with a very high thermal conductivity. It was invented to meet the requirement for smaller heat transfer devices.The objective of this work is to study thermal performance of closed loop pulsating heat pipe with acetone as working fluid. Copper has been selected as material for heat pipe due to compatibility of copper with acetone as working fluid. Filling ratio of the working fluid significantly influence on the performance closed loop pulsating heat pipe. From the past studies it was observed that filling ratio of 30-75 % provides the best result hence 60 % filling ratio has been selected for this filing ratio the thermal performance of closed loop pulsating heat pipe with acetone as working fluid is investigated.

Development of electronic tongue for sorghum quality detectioneSAT Journals
Abstract Due to insufficient and improper facility of storage available in India many grains affects by quality. Quality changes over time due to many things, one of them is moisture content of the cereals. This paper presents the design of a low-cost electronic tongue system with a personal computer based decision making system. Generally, this kind of concept for food quality determination has been used since many years for liquid food samples like coke, water, tea etc. Here the noble approach is applied for solid cereal food like sorghum, wheat etc. The designed system is able to implement Voltammetry measurement with standard three electrode configuration. Gold silver platinum and copper are used as electrode. Lab-View from National Instrumentation's is used to generate and gather the signals to and from electronic tongue setup. The data obtained from the electrochemical measurement of samples made from different variety of sorghum are applied to the artificial neural network analysis. First, the network is trained for different known samples which are categorized into 3 different classes on the basis of the varieties. The network is found to able discriminate them all accordingly.. The next experiment has shown that with the e-tongue graduation of the sample based on quality of the cereal sample can be done, where the quality is affected due to the moisture. Abstract This paper deals with a variable speed wind turbine coupled with a permanent magnet synchronous generator connected through a two mass drive train. This drive train is connected to synchronous generator and after the conversion process finally connected to grid and the idea of transmission over a long distance makes the use of converter necessary and at the receiving end. The inverter is used to convert it back and the inverter is designed with a proper gate signal to get the best output three phase voltages. The fuzzy logic controller is used to track generator speed with varying wind speed to optimize turbine aerodynamic efficiency in the outer speed loop. Pitch angle control of wind turbine has been used widely to reduce torque and output power variation in high rated wind speed areas .The machine side converter is designed to extract maximum power from the wind. In this work a WECS connected with grid is designed in Matlab and a Fuzzy controller is designed to improve the output and we can see the major difference in DC link voltage and reactive power in transmission line. From the outputs we can also go through the reactive power issue which system is best for inductive load or capacitive load. The simple PI system is good for capacitive load and the fuzzy system is better option for the inductive load. The results of both the system of normal controller and fuzzy controller is compared and analyzed. It developed using cascode amplifier with inductors. RC linearization circuit is designed to improve the linearity of the design. Cascode LNA circuit is designed for linearity improvement. In this work Temperature analysis is carried out for LNA circuit performance improvement fully integrated 5.5 GHz high-linearity low noise amplifier (LNA) is designing using post-linearization technique, in sub-120nm & sub-70nm technology. Temperature stability of the circuit is analysed for different temperature ranges our results prove that the proposed LNA design achieve high gain with good linearity. INTRODUCTION
Cloud computing is being rapidly adopted across the IT
industry, driven by the need to reduce the total cost of
ownership of increasingly more demanding workloads. Within
companies, private clouds are offering a more efficient way to
manage and use private data centers. In the broader
marketplace, public clouds offer the promise of buying
computing capabilities based on a utility model. This utility
model enables IT consumers to purchase compute resources on
demand to fit current business needs and scale expenses
associated with computing resources. Thus, cloud computing
offers IT to be treated as an ongoing variable operating expense
billed by usage rather than requiring capital expenditures that
must be planned years in advance. Advantageously, operating
expenses can be charged against the revenue generated by these
expenses directly. In contrast, capital expenses incurred by the
purchase of a system need to be paid at the time of purchase,
but can only be depreciated to reduce the taxable income over
the lifetime of the system.
THE MAIN ATTRIBUTES OF CLOUD COMPUTING
The main attributes of cloud computing are scalable,
shared, on-demand computing resources delivered over the
network, and pay-per-use pricing. This offers flexibility in
using as few or as many IT resources as needed at any point in
time. Thus, users do not need to predict future resources they
might need, and to commit to capital investment in hardware.
This is especially advantageous for start-ups, and small and
medium businesses which might otherwise not be able to afford
the IT infrastructure they need to support their growing
business. At the same time, redirecting capital investment from
IT infrastructure to the core business is attractive even for large
and financially strong businesses.
From a technical perspective, cloud computing brings the
benefits of virtualization and multi-tenancy to scale-out
systems. Virtualization techniques allow multiple system
images to share the same hardware resources: CPU

Mechanical properties of hybrid fiber reinforced concrete for pavementseSAT Journals
Abstract
The effect of addition of mono fibers and hybrid fibers on the mechanical properties of concrete mixture is studied in the present
investigation. Steel fibers of 1% and polypropylene fibers 0.036% were added individually to the concrete mixture as mono fibers and
then they were added together to form a hybrid fiber reinforced concrete. Mechanical properties such as compressive, split tensile and
flexural strength were determined. The results show that hybrid fibers improve the compressive strength marginally as compared to
mono fibers. Whereas, hybridization improves split tensile strength and flexural strength noticeably.

Abstract
The objective of the present study is to understand about all the problems occurring in the company because of improper application
of material management. In construction project operation, often there is a project cost variance in terms of the material, equipments,
manpower, subcontractor, overhead cost, and general condition. Material is the main component in construction projects. Therefore,
if the material management is not properly managed it will create a project cost variance. Project cost can be controlled by taking
corrective actions towards the cost variance. Therefore a methodology is used to diagnose and evaluate the procurement process
involved in material management and launch a continuous improvement was developed and applied. A thorough study was carried
out along with study of cases, surveys and interviews to professionals involved in this area. As a result, a methodology for diagnosis
and improvement was proposed and tested in selected projects. The results obtained show that the main problem of procurement is
related to schedule delays and lack of specified quality for the project. To prevent this situation it is often necessary to dedicate
important resources like money, personnel, time, etc. To monitor and control the process. A great potential for improvement was
detected if state of the art technologies such as, electronic mail, electronic data interchange (EDI), and analysis were applied to the
procurement process. These helped to eliminate the root causes for many types of problems that were detected.

Drought management needs multidisciplinary action. Interdisciplinary efforts among the experts in various fields of the droughts
prone areas are helpful to achieve tangible and permanent solution for this recurring problem. The Gulbarga district having the total
area around 16, 240 sq.km, and accounts 8.45 per cent of the Karnataka state area. The district has been situated with latitude 17º 19'
60" North and longitude of 76 º 49' 60" east. The district is situated entirely on the Deccan plateau positioned at a height of 300 to
750 m above MSL. Sub-tropical, semi-arid type is one among the drought prone districts of Karnataka State. The drought
management is very important for a district like Gulbarga. In this paper various short term strategies are discussed to mitigate the
drought condition in the district.

Life cycle cost analysis of overlay for an urban road in bangaloreeSAT Journals
Abstract
Pavements are subjected to severe condition of stresses and weathering effects from the day they are constructed and opened to traffic
mainly due to its fatigue behavior and environmental effects. Therefore, pavement rehabilitation is one of the most important
components of entire road systems. This paper highlights the design of concrete pavement with added mono fibers like polypropylene,
steel and hybrid fibres for a widened portion of existing concrete pavement and various overlay alternatives for an existing
bituminous pavement in an urban road in Bangalore. Along with this, Life cycle cost analyses at these sections are done by Net
Present Value (NPV) method to identify the most feasible option. The results show that though the initial cost of construction of
concrete overlay is high, over a period of time it prove to be better than the bituminous overlay considering the whole life cycle cost.
The economic analysis also indicates that, out of the three fibre options, hybrid reinforced concrete would be economical without
compromising the performance of the pavement.

Laboratory studies of dense bituminous mixes ii with reclaimed asphalt materialseSAT Journals
Abstract
The issue of growing demand on our nation’s roadways over that past couple of decades, decreasing budgetary funds, and the need to
provide a safe, efficient, and cost effective roadway system has led to a dramatic increase in the need to rehabilitate our existing
pavements and the issue of building sustainable road infrastructure in India. With these emergency of the mentioned needs and this
are today’s burning issue and has become the purpose of the study.
In the present study, the samples of existing bituminous layer materials were collected from NH-48(Devahalli to Hassan) site.The
mixtures were designed by Marshall Method as per Asphalt institute (MS-II) at 20% and 30% Reclaimed Asphalt Pavement (RAP).
RAP material was blended with virgin aggregate such that all specimens tested for the, Dense Bituminous Macadam-II (DBM-II)
gradation as per Ministry of Roads, Transport, and Highways (MoRT&H) and cost analysis were carried out to know the economics.
Laboratory results and analysis showed the use of recycled materials showed significant variability in Marshall Stability, and the
variability increased with the increase in RAP content. The saving can be realized from utilization of recycled materials as per the
methodology, the reduction in the total cost is 19%, 30%, comparing with the virgin mixes.

Laboratory investigation of expansive soil stabilized with natural inorganic ...eSAT Journals
Abstract
Soil stabilization has proven to be one of the oldest techniques to improve the soil properties. Literature review conducted revealed
that uses of natural inorganic stabilizers are found to be one of the best options for soil stabilization. In this regard an attempt has
been made to evaluate the influence of RBI-81 stabilizer on properties of black cotton soil through laboratory investigations. Black
cotton soil with varying percentages of RBI-81 viz., 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2, and 2.5 percent were studied for moisture density relationships
and strength behaviour of soils. Also the effect of curing period was evaluated as literature review clearly emphasized the strength
gain of soils stabilized with RBI-81 over a period of time. The results obtained shows that the unconfined compressive strength of
specimens treated with RBI-81 increased approximately by 250% for a curing period of 28 days as compared to virgin soil. Further
the CBR value improved approximately by 400%. The studies indicated an increasing trend for soil strength behaviour with
increasing percentage of RBI-81 suggesting its potential applications in soil stabilization.
Influence of reinforcement on the behavior of hollow concrete block masonry p...eSAT Journals
Abstract
Reinforced masonry was developed to exploit the strength potential of masonry and to solve its lack of tensile strength. Experimental
and analytical studies have been carried out to investigate the effect of reinforcement on the behavior of hollow concrete block
masonry prisms under compression and to predict ultimate failure compressive strength. In the numerical program, three dimensional
non-linear finite elements (FE) model based on the micro-modeling approach is developed for both unreinforced and reinforced
masonry prisms using ANSYS (14.5). The proposed FE model uses multi-linear stress-strain relationships to model the non-linear
behavior of hollow concrete block, mortar, and grout. Willam-Warnke’s five parameter failure theory has been adopted to model the
failure of masonry materials. The comparison of the numerical and experimental results indicates that the FE models can successfully
capture the highly nonlinear behavior of the physical specimens and accurately predict their strength and failure mechanisms.

Influence of compaction energy on soil stabilized with chemical stabilizereSAT Journals
Abstract
Increase in traffic along with heavier magnitude of wheel loads cause rapid deterioration in pavements. There is a need to improve
density, strength of soil subgrade and other pavement layers. In this study an attempt is made to improve the properties of locally
available loamy soil using twin approaches viz., i) increasing the compaction of soil and ii) treating the soil with chemical stabilizer.
Laboratory studies are carried out on both untreated and treated soil samples compacted by different compaction efforts. Studies
show that increase in compaction effort results in increase in density of soil. However in soil treated with chemical stabilizer, rate of
increase in density is not significant. The soil treated with chemical stabilizer exhibits improvement in both strength and performance
properties.

Water resources projects are inherited with overlapping and at times conflicting objectives. These projects are often of varied sizes
ranging from major projects with command areas of millions of hectares to very small projects implemented at the local level. Thus,
in all these projects there is seldom proper coordination which is essential for ensuring collective sustainability.
Integrated watershed development and management is the accepted answer but in turn requires a comprehensive framework that can
enable planning process involving all the stakeholders at different levels and scales is compulsory. Such a unified hydrological
framework is essential to evaluate the cause and effect of all the proposed actions within the drainage basins.
The present paper describes a hydrological framework developed in the form of a Hydrologic Information System (HIS) which is
intended to meet the specific information needs of the various line departments of a typical State connected with water related aspects.
The HIS consist of a hydrologic information database coupled with tools for collating primary and secondary data and tools for
analyzing and visualizing the data and information. The HIS also incorporates hydrological model base for indirect assessment of
various entities of water balance in space and time. The framework would be maintained and updated to reflect fully the most
accurate ground truth data and the infrastructure requirements for planning and management.

Abstract
The study demonstrate the potentiality of satellite remote sensing technique for the generation of baseline information on forest types
including tree plantation details in Bidar forest division, Karnataka covering an area of 5814.60Sq.Kms. The Total Area of Bidar
forest division is 5814Sq.Kms analysis of the satellite data in the study area reveals that about 84% of the total area is Covered by
crop land, 1.778% of the area is covered by dry deciduous forest, 1.38 % of mixed plantation, which is very threatening to the
environmental stability of the forest, future plantation site has been mapped. With the use of latest Geo-informatics technology proper
and exact condition of the trees can be observed and necessary precautions can be taken for future plantation works in an appropriate
manner

Factors influencing compressive strength of geopolymer concreteeSAT Journals
Abstract
To study effects of several factors on the properties of fly ash based geopolymer concrete on the compressive strength and also the
cost comparison with the normal concrete. The test variables were molarities of sodium hydroxide(NaOH) 8M,14M and 16M, ratio of
NaOH to sodium silicate (Na2SiO3) 1, 1.5, 2 and 2.5, alkaline liquid to fly ash ratio 0.35 and 0.40 and replacement of water in
Na2SiO3 solution by 10%, 20% and 30% were used in the present study. The test results indicated that the highest compressive
strength 54 MPa was observed for 16M of NaOH, ratio of NaOH to Na2SiO3 2.5 and alkaline liquid to fly ash ratio of 0.35. Lowest
compressive strength of 27 MPa was observed for 8M of NaOH, ratio of NaOH to Na2SiO3 is 1 and alkaline liquid to fly ash ratio of
0.40. Alkaline liquid to fly ash ratio of 0.35, water replacement of 10% and 30% for 8 and 16 molarity of NaOH and has resulted in
compressive strength of 36 MPa and 20 MPa respectively. Superplasticiser dosage of 2 % by weight of fly ash has given higher
strength in all cases.

Abstract
Composite Circular hollow Steel tubes with and without GFRP infill for three different grades of Light weight concrete are tested for
ultimate load capacity and axial shortening , under Cyclic loading. Steel tubes are compared for different lengths, cross sections and
thickness. Specimens were tested separately after adopting Taguchi’s L9 (Latin Squares) Orthogonal array in order to save the initial
experimental cost on number of specimens and experimental duration. Analysis was carried out using ANN (Artificial Neural
Network) technique with the assistance of Mini Tab- a statistical soft tool. Comparison for predicted, experimental & ANN output is
obtained from linear regression plots. From this research study, it can be concluded that *Cross sectional area of steel tube has most
significant effect on ultimate load carrying capacity, *as length of steel tube increased- load carrying capacity decreased & *ANN
modeling predicted acceptable results. Thus ANN tool can be utilized for predicting ultimate load carrying capacity for composite
columns.

Abstract
This paper presents an outlook on experimental behavior and a comparison with predicted formula on the behaviour of circular
concentrically loaded self-consolidating fibre reinforced concrete filled steel tube columns (HSSCFRC). Forty-five specimens were
tested. The main parameters varied in the tests are: (1) percentage of fiber (2) tube diameter or width to wall thickness ratio (D/t
from 15 to 25) (3) L/d ratio from 2.97 to 7.04 the results from these predictions were compared with the experimental data. The
experimental results) were also validated in this study.

Evaluation of punching shear in flat slabseSAT Journals
Abstract
Flat-slab construction has been widely used in construction today because of many advantages that it offers. The basic philosophy in
the design of flat slab is to consider only gravity forces; this method ignores the effect of punching shear due to unbalanced moments
at the slab column junction which is critical. An attempt has been made to generate generalized design sheets which accounts both
punching shear due to gravity loads and unbalanced moments for cases (a) interior column; (b) edge column (bending perpendicular
to shorter edge); (c) edge column (bending parallel to shorter edge); (d) corner column. These design sheets are prepared as per
codal provisions of IS 456-2000. These design sheets will be helpful in calculating the shear reinforcement to be provided at the
critical section which is ignored in many design offices. Apart from its usefulness in evaluating punching shear and the necessary
shear reinforcement, the design sheets developed will enable the designer to fix the depth of flat slab during the initial phase of the
design.

Abstract
Efficiency of the road network system is analyzed by travel time reliability measures. The study overlooks on an important measure of
travel time reliability and prioritizing Tiruchirappalli road network. Traffic volume and travel time were collected using license plate
matching method. Travel time measures were estimated from average travel time and 95th travel time. Effect of non-motorized vehicle
on efficiency of road system was evaluated. Relation between buffer time index and traffic volume was created. Travel time model has
been developed and travel time measure was validated. Then service quality of road sections in network were graded based on
travel time reliability measures.

Estimation of surface runoff in nallur amanikere watershed using scs cn methodeSAT Journals
Abstract
The development of watershed aims at productive utilization of all the available natural resources in the entire area extending from
ridge line to stream outlet. The per capita availability of land for cultivation has been decreasing over the years. Therefore, water and
the related land resources must be developed, utilized and managed in an integrated and comprehensive manner. Remote sensing and
GIS techniques are being increasingly used for planning, management and development of natural resources. The study area, Nallur
Amanikere watershed geographically lies between 110 38’ and 110 52’ N latitude and 760 30’ and 760 50’ E longitude with an area of
415.68 Sq. km. The thematic layers such as land use/land cover and soil maps were derived from remotely sensed data and overlayed
through ArcGIS software to assign the curve number on polygon wise. The daily rainfall data of six rain gauge stations in and around
the watershed (2001-2011) was used to estimate the daily runoff from the watershed using Soil Conservation Service - Curve Number
(SCS-CN) method. The runoff estimated from the SCS-CN model was then used to know the variation of runoff potential with different
land use/land cover and with different soil conditions.

Abstract
Land and water are the two vital natural resources, the optimal management of these resources with minimum adverse environmental
impact are essential not only for sustainable development but also for human survival. Satellite remote sensing with geographic
information system has a pragmatic approach to map and generate spatial input layers of predicting response behavior and yield of
watershed. Hence, in the present study an attempt has been made to understand the hydrological process of the catchment at the
watershed level by drawing the inferences from moprhometric analysis and runoff. The study area chosen for the present study is
Yagachi catchment situated in Chickamaglur and Hassan district lies geographically at a longitude 75⁰52’08.77”E and
13⁰10’50.77”N latitude. It covers an area of 559.493 Sq.km. Morphometric analysis is carried out to estimate morphometric
parameters at Micro-watershed to understand the hydrological response of the catchment at the Micro-watershed level. Daily runoff
is estimated using USDA SCS curve number model for a period of 10 years from 2001 to 2010. The rainfall runoff relationship of the
study shows there is a positive correlation.

Abstract The nonlinear Static procedure also well known as pushover analysis is method where in monotonically increasing loads are applied to the structure till the structure is unable to resist any further load. It is a popular tool for seismic performance evaluation of existing and new structures. In literature lot of research has been carried out on conventional pushover analysis and after knowing deficiency efforts have been made to improve it. But actual test results to verify the analytically obtained pushover results are rarely available. It has been found that some amount of variation is always expected to exist in seismic demand prediction of pushover analysis. Initial study is carried out by considering user defined hinge properties and default hinge length. Attempt is being made to assess the variation of pushover analysis results by considering user defined hinge properties and various hinge length formulations available in literature and results compared with experimentally obtained results based on test carried out on a G+2 storied RCC framed structure. For the present study two geometric models viz bare frame and rigid frame model is considered and it is found that the results of pushover analysis are very sensitive to geometric model and hinge length adopted. Effect of use of recycled materials on indirect tensile strength of asphalt c...eSAT Journals
Abstract
Depletion of natural resources and aggregate quarries for the road construction is a serious problem to procure materials. Hence
recycling or reuse of material is beneficial. On emphasizing development in sustainable construction in the present era, recycling of
asphalt pavements is one of the effective and proven rehabilitation processes. For the laboratory investigations reclaimed asphalt
pavement (RAP) from NH-4 and crumb rubber modified binder (CRMB-55) was used. Foundry waste was used as a replacement to
conventional filler. Laboratory tests were conducted on asphalt concrete mixes with 30, 40, 50, and 60 percent replacement with RAP.
These test results were compared with conventional mixes and asphalt concrete mixes with complete binder extracted RAP
aggregates. Mix design was carried out by Marshall Method. The Marshall Tests indicated highest stability values for asphalt
concrete (AC) mixes with 60% RAP. The optimum binder content (OBC) decreased with increased in RAP in AC mixes. The Indirect
Tensile Strength (ITS) for AC mixes with RAP also was found to be higher when compared to conventional AC mixes at 300C.

Abstract
The large scale IaaS systems could store virtual appliances in several repositories. The deployment time could heavily vary depending
on the connection properties of the repository storing the appliance. A virtual appliance is a virtual machine image designed to run on
a virtualization platform i.e. Virtual Box, Xen, VMware Workstation. Virtual appliance delivery requires the modification of the
underlying IaaS systems. IaaS is the virtual delivery of computing resources in the form of hardware, networking, and storage services
This concept will reduce the variance in deployment time by introducing the concept of online active repositories and appliance
optimization. To provide efficient delivery time in IaaS and to increase the efficiency of IaaS (Infra structure as a service) system To
calculate the delivery time when deployed it in the virtualized platform Combining the both online and manual repositories for
calculating the delivery time To construct the appliance in online using various online repositories The constructed appliance is
deployed in the virtualized platform (using virtual box). And the appliance is optimized for increasing the efficiency and decreasing
the delivery time. The delivery time of the online appliance is compared with the appliance which has been created manually.

1. INTRODUCTION
Cloud computing a relatively recent term, defines the paths
ahead in Computer Science world. Being built on decades of
research it utilizes all recent achievements in Virtualization,
Distributed computing, Utility computing, and Networking. It
implies a service oriented architecture through offering
software and platforms as services (i.e SAAS, PAAS) reduced
information technology overhead for the end-user, great
flexibility, reduced total cost of ownership, on demand
services and many other things.
The Cloud is a metaphor for the Internet, based on how it is
depicted in computer network diagrams, and is an abstraction
for the complex infrastructure it conceals. Cloud Computing
becomes widespread particularly as these systems are
“always-on always-available. “The Cloud is a Virtualization of
resources that maintains and manages itself, delivering
massively scalable enterprise IT as a Service across Internet.
2. VIRTUALIZATION
Virtualization is the creation of a virtual (rather than actual)
version of something, such as an operating system, a server, a
storage device or network resources. Virtualization is a
technology that combines or divides computing resources to
present one or many operating environments. It uses
methodologies like hardware and software partitioning or
aggregation, partial or complete machine simulation,
emulation, time-sharing etc. Offers a wide variety of tangible
benefits to those wanting to consolidate their computing
resources and at the same time save money. E.g. VMware,
Virtual PC, Virtual Box etc
3. VIRTUAL APPLIANCE
It is a virtual machine image, designed to run on a
virtualization platform. Virtual appliances are a subset of a
broader class of software appliances. Installation of a software
appliance on a virtual machine creates a virtual appliance.
Like software appliances, virtual appliances are intended to
eliminate the installation, configuration and maintenance costs
associated with running complex stacks of software.
Because virtual appliances are preconfigured, they help
organizations reduce the time and expense associated with
application deployment including the patching and ongoing
management of the software. Delivering software as a virtual
appliance has numerous business and technical benefits that
can result in higher conversion rates, shorter sales cycles and
increased renewals. In the virtual-appliance model, you can
enable greater usability out of the box by optimizing the
application for one of several VMware supported OS.KVM is
a full virtualization solution for x86 processors supporting
hardware virtualization. It consists of two main components
VM Guests , Virtual storage and networks can be managed
with libvirt based and QEMU tools. libvirt is a library that
provides an API to manage VM Guests based on different
virtualization solutions, among them KVM and Xen. It offers
a graphical user interface as well as a command line program.
The QEMU tools are KVM/QEMU specific and are only
available for the command line.

4. PROJECT DESCRIPTION
4.1 Existing System
The concept of virtualization describes the design and
prototype of an extendable management framework,
virtualization integrator (VSI),which enables an appliance
builder to easily fulfill the key features of virtual appliances
and coordinate management function across components
located in multiple virtual appliances. And the main drawback
of this paper is that virtual appliance is reduces the efficiency
of the cloud data center. And therefore it will underlay some
changes in the data center. So that it directly does not involve
in the process of creation of virtual appliance, and in the next
technique it introduces the concept of how to manage the
virtual appliances and what are the steps for managing the
virtual appliances.
4.2 Proposed System
In the proposed system we have explained the process of how
the time of the virtual appliance is used and explained with the
automated virtual appliance creation system, the deployment
time reduction capabilities of the proposed techniques were
measured with several services provided in virtual appliances
on three cloud infrastructures.
The appliance creation capabilities of the VAS are compared
to the already available virtual appliances offered by the
various online appliance repositories. As a result these
techniques alleviated one of the major obstacles before virtual
appliance based deployment system.
5. MODULES
5.1 Java Application Creation
This module describes about creation of a java application. In
this paper we have created an any java application for the IP
hacker. This application contains a hit list with the attributes
of Ip address, Time, Date in which the person access the
system. If any ip address request or access data more than
particular count it will restrict that ip address and it will say
unauthorized access and intimate to admin. So we blocked ip
address easily and efficiently.
5.2 Appliance Creation
The goal of this online appliance creation is to create the
virtual appliance (software image) for a particular os or an
application. The created virtual appliance will be deployed in
the virtualized platform for calculating the delivery time.
Virtual box is a tool for importing the appliance in any of the
operating systems like (windows, Linux etc.,).The created
online appliance is imported in the virtual box. The installation
of the appliance begins in the cloud environment.
5.3 Optimization of Virtual Appliance
As from the first step of the optimization algorithm, it starts
with the identification of the deployment time reduction
options for services encapsulated in virtual appliances. The
deployment time is defined as the time between the
deployment decisions was made and the service was activated
on the selected host. These tasks include the installation, the
configuration and finally the activation. With these tasks, the
installation is the most time consuming thus it is subdivided
into several subtasks.
This approach modifies the virtual appliance in a way that it is
capable of serving its target functionality, with a smaller size.
A virtual appliance consist of a disk image, if there is a
memory snapshot. Appliance optimization is done by the VA
optimization facility that is a subsystem of the VAS service
therefore; first, we defined the faults that can be injected in
order to achieve size reduction. Having a virtualized
environment enables the simulation of both software and
hardware level faults.
Validation algorithms are used to evaluate these virtual
appliance, to check whether it provides the target
functionality. Software development may involve unit and
integration tests optimization technique, which is represented
in the updates and reusing the previous optimization results.
The facility takes snapshots of the optimization process that
create intermediate appliances.
5.3.1 Appliance Contents Removal
This section describes the basic algorithm of the optimization
procedure is split into three distinct tasks. These three tasks
are outlined in the next sub-sections.
5.3.1.1 Selection
Items are the smallest entities handled by the selection and
removal algorithms. The subtask of the selection is weighting
that prioritizes the different items. Weight functions assign
weight values for each item of the virtual appliance under
optimization. The higher the weight value the more undesired
the actual item is in the virtual appliance. The optimization
facility decides on the use of the various weight functions
based on the time and cost constraints specified in the
optimization target criterion.
5.3.1.2 Removal and Validation
The removal action sorts the items according to their weights
and it removes the item with the highest weight from the
virtual appliance. For the removal operation, the optimization
facility has to understand the contents of the appliance to be
able to remove the selected item. After removal, validation
instantiates the reduced appliance in a virtual machine (vm)
and all the developer-supplied validation algorithms validator

fail, then the validation procedure is non-successful valid
false.
Appliance contains several packages in that optimize the
replicated data. Select weight in KB and check replicated data
if anything found means remove that replicated data and
provide call back function to original data or package. By
doing we have reduced the size, while deploying there by this
also reduce the time.
5.4 Deploying into Cloud
Finally we have deployed MMVA into a cloud system and
compare the results with following key factors: the number of
files, size and deployment time between application, virtual
appliance and MMVA.

6. CONCLUSIONS
Highly dynamic service environments introduce new demands
on service deployment systems because they might schedule
service calls on yet-to-be deployed service instances.
Therefore, in highly dynamic service environments appliance
based service deployment systems are only usable if the
deployment time of the various appliances can be reduced.
In the current practice the virtual appliance creation task is
usually performed manually that hinders dynamic service
deployment and makes impossible to create dynamic adaptive
systems. Also our contribution provided a “parallel algorithm
for virtual appliance size optimization” , this not only reduces
the deployment time by optimizing the size of the virtual
appliances, also provides a technique that minimizes the
optimization time and allows the early release of the optimal
appliances. And the future enhancement is increasing the
efficiency and decreasing the delivery time using MMVA
(minimal manageable virtual appliance).
