Since the onset of Cloud computing and its inroads into infrastructure as a service, Virtualization has become peak
of importance in the field of abstraction and resource management. However, these additional layers of abstraction provided by virtualization come at a trade-off between performance and cost in a cloud environment where everything is on a pay-per-use basis. Containers which are perceived to be the future of virtualization are developed to address these issues. This study paper scrutinizes the performance of a conventional virtual machine and contrasts them with the containers. We cover the critical
assessment of each parameter and its behavior when its subjected to various stress tests. We discuss the implementations and their performance metrics to help us draw conclusions on which one is ideal to use for desired needs. After assessment of the result and discussion of the limitations, we conclude with prospects for future research

Abstract The large scale IaaS systems could store virtual appliances in several repositories. The deployment time could heavily vary depending on the connection properties of the repository storing the appliance. A virtual appliance is a virtual machine image designed to run on a virtualization platform i.e. Virtual Box, Xen, VMware Workstation. Virtual appliance delivery requires the modification of the underlying IaaS systems. IaaS is the virtual delivery of computing resources in the form of hardware, networking, and storage services This concept will reduce the variance in deployment time by introducing the concept of online active repositories and appliance optimization. To provide efficient delivery time in IaaS and to increase the efficiency of IaaS (Infra structure as a service) system To calculate the delivery time when deployed it in the virtualized platform Combining the both online and manual repositories for calculating the delivery time To construct the appliance in online using various online repositories The constructed appliance is deployed in the virtualized platform (using virtual box). And the appliance is optimized for increasing the efficiency and decreasing the delivery time. We tell our code lies from development to deploy. The most common of these lies start with the simple act of launching a virtual machine. These lies are critical to our applications. Some of them protect applications from themselves and each other, some even improve performance. Some, however, decrease performance, and others create barriers to simply getting things done.
We lie about the systems, networks, storage, RAM, CPU and other resources our applications use, but how we tell those lies is critical to how the applications that depend on them perform. Joyent's Casey Bisson will explore the lies we tell our code and demonstrate examples of how they sometimes help and hurt us.

Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
