A vegetarian is a person who refuses to consume meat, fish, and sometimes
other products from animals for moral, religious or, health reasons.
Vegetarians commonly have a diet of foods made from plants, with or
without dairy products, eggs and/or honey.
Types of vegetarian:
Strict vegetarian – a true vegetarian/vegan. This term was used before these
words were invented.
Ovo-Lacto vegetarian – someone who eats plants, as well as eggs and milk
products.
Lacto-vegetarian – someone who eats plants and milk products.
Semi vegetarian – someone who eats less meat than the average person.
Pseudo vegetarian – someone who says they are vegetarian, but aren’t.
Pescetarian – similar to vegetarians, but they consume fish. Most likely is
someone who avoids factory-farming techniques).
Fruitarian – someone who is vegan but only eats food that doesn’t kill the
plant it came from.
Why be a Veggie?
“If you have the chance to save one life - or to save thousands of lives -
wouldn't you? Cutting animal products out of your life is a fairly simple
thing you can do, with far reaching effects. The human animals are
supposedly so evolved, with so many great gifts... shouldn't we use our
gift of compassion to save other animals?” – Lise

Vegetarianism could be defined as a way of living that aims to remove
all forms of exploitation and cruelty to animals. In terms of diet, it
refers to not consuming animal produce including meat, fish, eggs,
milk products, honey, and their derivatives.
The hatred of the cruel practices involved in dairy, livestock and
poultry farming is probably the most common reason why people
adopt vegetarianism.
