He was born in 30/3/1853.
He was the second of seven brothers
of Anna and Theodore Van Gogh.
He learned to paint from his mother
when he was a child, but he didn't
start painting until his late
twenties.

hardworking people.
Eventually he began to paint using
oil colors in this early year of
his career.
Van Gogh used a lot of dark colors
like brown, black, green and other
dark colors.

Theo.
Theo work in an art gallery that's
because they are so nearby.
He gave vincent money and encouraged
him to paint.
Theo tried to sell the paintings of
Van Gogh, but no one wanted to buy

He moved to Paris because Theo
wrote him about a new style of
art called impressionism.
He moved to Paris in 1886 and
learned a lot of this new
painters.
He also became good friend with
the artist Paul Gauguin.

In 1888 he moved to Arles, France to
start up an artist’s commune.
He rented a little yellow house and
invited artist Paul Gauguin to join
him.
He loved the brighter
colors of Arles.
He loved japanese art.

Sadly Van Gogh became mentally ill.
When he paints, sometimes he puts his
brushes on his mouth. The paint had
lead, and lead is toxic to the
brain.
One day Vincent fights with Paul
Gauguin, Paul leaves Vincent alone
and he cuts his own ear.
In the mental hospital he make one of
his last paintings.
legacy
He produced more than 2,100
artworks, including around 860
oil paintings.
When he was alive he sold only one
of his paintings.
He doesn't live to see it, but now
his art is very famous and some
of them are the most expensive
paintings in the world.
His unique style makes it easy to
recognize his paintings.
