Formulas Vs Calorimetry
Matter can take on different changes physically and chemically, for an example of a physical change is
when water freezes into ice, there is no chemical change to the water but a physical change the ice is
just water molecules made of hydrogen and oxygen packed tightly together. But, another physical
change would be bending iron metal, the iron is still the same chemically whether it is made into I
beams, or pressed into shapes to make the body of a car; the shape may change but it never changes
chemically. In addition, a chemical change is the results in one or more substances that make up an
entirely different composition from the original substances. The compounds and/ or elements at the
start of the chemical reaction are rearranged into a new product of compounds or elements. Also a
chemical reaction alters the composition of the original matter, different elements or compounds are
present at the end of the chemical change. Although an example of a chemical reaction is the process
of rusting, you start with Iron mixed with air and water you get a different compound. Along with
chemical changes the Law of Conservation of Mass plays a part in it too. The Law of Conservation of
Mass (or Matter) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The molecule formula is the actual number of atoms in that molecule. The molecular formula tells you
the number of atoms of each element that is present in the chemical reaction. Also, the molecular
formula is an expression of the number and type of atoms that are present in a single molecule of a
substance. Also, the empirical formula tells you what people have observed and is also the ratio of the
elements in a molecular formula. Furthermore if you can divide all the number in a molecular formula
by the some value to simplify them, then the empirical or simple formula will be different from the
molecular formula. In some chemical formulas you deal with Alkaline Earth

Horizontal And Vertical Integration During The Gilded Age
The Gilded Age was a period that transformed a mainly agrarian society into an urban industrial
society. It made several positive contributions to society and greatly advanced the economy. However,
the Gilded Age also produced negative outcomes that came along with industrialization and the rise of
large cooperations. Industry, labor unions, and immigration together created the Gilded Age which
was characterized by economic growth coupled with political and social inequality. To begin,
throughout the Gilded Age, economic power was held in the hands of few. Many cooperations aimed
to reduce competition through the use of horizontal and vertical integration. Vertical integration is the
combination of all phases of production into one organization. Horizontal integration is the
combination of competitors into one organization in order ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

received low wages and endured dangerous working conditions. Child labor was also common as

is the INDUSTRIAL SYSTEM and not the boss which must be changed? . She argued that it was not
industrialization but corruption and the actions of the bosses that created this situation consisting of
unfair treatment of workers (To Tramps the unemployed, the disinherited and miserable, 1884). In
addition, many were discriminated against even in society. The Chinese Exclusion Act demonstrates
the racism that still existed in American society during this time period. It stated, the coming of
Chinese laborers to the United States be, and the same is hereby suspended (United States At Large).
At first immigrants were needed to fuel industrialization, but once the United States believed there
were enough they limited their immigration and unfairly excluded the

Cash Flow Planning will help you understand where your income is going and give you a better idea
of your expenses. Your cash flow planning should be realistic and paint a clear picture. As seen earlier
in your cash flow statement you have a surplus of $9,000 at the end of the year. This tells me that your
family is doing a good job of being financially responsible. I have included a pie chart that breaks
down your cash outflows. This pie chart will give you a better idea of where your money is going. As
you can see from the pie chart you biggest sources of cash outflows are taxes and living expenses.
While I think your family is doing well financially you could benefit greatly from reducing your
everyday living expenses. Your family spends a significant amount of money on recreations,
vacations, and other personal expenses. By cutting down on these expenses you would be able to
invest more money into your children s education expenses or your own retirements. Currently you
are only investing 9% of your income into educational expenses and 6 percent of your income towards
retirement. Investment Vehicles There is no one single financial product or philosophy that is right for
every family. There are many different ways to obtain your financial goals. This section will discuss
some of the different types of investment vehicles you can use to meet your financial goals. An
investment vehicle refers to anything that a person

Pericles Funeral Oration Of Athenian Democracy
After reading Pericles funeral oration it is defiantly clear that he strongly believed that democracy was
the best possible form of government. Pericles saw Athens as superior to other city states based on
their implementation of democracy which ultimately represented freedom, liberty, courage, honor and
justice. In his funeral oration, Pericles refers to the Athenian democracy as a system of government
where men are able to advance in society as a result of their merits rather than on class or wealth. In
the Athenian democracy class considerations are not allowed to interfere with merit and therefore any
man who showcased his ability to rule could do so, even if he wasn t part of the upper class or had
some wealth to back himself up. Pericles

Relational Leadership Model Essay
As an ethical and successful leader I believe that one must remember is that you should always
considers your followers over yourself. Without them, you are not able to get anything done. You are
best able to gage if your being a successful leader if others are willing to follow you to accomplish
positive change. If you are always considering others then it is easy to maintain an ethical approach
because you make yourself more aware of what could be viewed as unethical within not only your
contextual view but also others who think differently then you. The Relational Leadership Model is
useful to build the mindset for thinking about others if you focus on the ethical and empowering side
of the model (Komives, S. R., Lucas, N., McMahon, T. R, 2013). The way your treat those around you
makes an important statement to your leadership style. Over all we do see men and woman in the field
of museum work but the way they are treated is vastly different. Male curators will be involved in a
more science and research field while women will usually fill the maintenance and care role. These
two positions area not equally respected though they both use the title of curator. To maintain a
collection is admirable but why collect if no information is obtained. So the woman in these positions
are just a stepping stone for a researcher to come in and reap the rewards of intellectual discovery. The
difficulties to practicing this form of leadership is that it is impossible to consider every

M. Butterfly, Written by David Henry Hwang Essay
As a big crucible, the United States is well known for its multiplicity of races. In order to maintain the
diversity, the American government not only receives people from different backgrounds, but also
sends American to all over the world in order to learn from various cultures. Even though countries
become increasingly closer in their relations, there still exists numerous stereotypes and negative
labeling among multi ethnic groups, which are most common between oriental and western. Along
with a sharply risen number of Asian visiting America, Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington,
which has never experienced much exotic cultures before, is facing both opportunities and challenges
from Asian civilization. As a result, for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This contradiction is what makes the ambiguous title of the play, M. Butterfly.
Stereotype towards Oriental women is one of the main themes in the play. The distressing ending that
brings up Gallimard s suicide is an irreversible result of his distorted thinking toward Asian women,
which blinds him to every truth about Song. As the title implies, Asian women are often compared to
butterflies that are docile and delicate. In fact, the audience will discover that Oriental women are
strong enough to take initiatives in reality. Both Gallimard and Song incorporate cultural notions into
the performance and perception, so that Song is able to exploit Gallimard by those conventions.
More than stereotypes toward Oriental women, the play also criticizes how the Western emasculate
Oriental from their point of view, like what Gallimard claims in the play, Orientals will always submit
to a greater force. (Act 2, Scene 3) Western flatters themselves that only a Westerner knows how the
Oriental should act, with the view of Oriental as an effeminate female with delicacy and subservient.
As Song explains The West has sort of an international rape mentality towards the East. (Act 3, Scene
1)
By creating a false image of Song s gender precisely, Hwang brings another remarkable topic in this
play, which is sexism. When Gallimard sees Song performing the dead scene from the opera Madama
Butterfly, he cannot separate her role as a

The Band Of The Rock Band Radiohead
On A Friday was the first name of the English Rock Band Radiohead. The
name On A Friday represented the day the members got together to practice. The band
members all met at the Abingdon School, a independent school for boys, in the town
of Abingdon, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. Thom Yorke lead vocals, guitar, piano and
keyboards, Jonny Greenwood lead guitar, keyboards and other instruments,
Ed O Brien guitar and backing vocals, Colin Greenwood bass and Phil Selway
drums, percussion and backing vocals, formed the band in 1985. The band s songs are
classified in the categories of Art Rock, Alternative Rock, Electronica and Experimental
Rock.
After years of doing local clubs and shows, On a Friday signed a six album
contract with EMI Records, a British record label, in 1991. At the request of the record
label the band changed their name to Radiohead. Taken from the song Radio Head by
the Talking Heads from their album True Stories.
Radiohead released their first single in 1992 entitled Creep. The single was
from their debut album Pablo Honey in 1993. Creep became a worldwide hit
when the album was released.
Radiohead s second album The Bends, released in 1995, made them hugely
popular in the United Kingdom. When their third album was released in 1997, entitled
OK Computer, they became an international sensation. OK Computer has been
considered one of the best albums of all time.
In 2000, Radiohead released their fourth album

However, it was the second week of the play, the theatre was almost empty. There were a few ushers

Some crew members were preparing the set for the play. The theatre was empty, and there was silence

Her father was facing memory loss in his later life, and she did not want to face the same problem as

scene was demonstrating the present, while second scene was about the past. In the second scene, I
came to know what was happened in the past and what was happening in the present. It was not
complicated to understand. After her father s funeral, she gets closed with her father s assistant. She

The Jerry Springer Show By David Coffman Summary
In the passage, Coffman presents the argument that other companies should have the consequences
that major tobacco companies had of paying a financial settlement in the field of legal but harmful
products. Other products are alcohol and gun companies of which Coffman believes to be in the
category of legal but harmful. Other manufacturers should not have to pay a financial settlement
because of the idea of self determination, and that a financial settlement does not resolve the conflict.
A reason as to why other companies should not have to pay a financial settlement is because of self
determination. Going from health lungs to risks of lung cancer because of tobacco did not happen
because of the company, it happened because the user allowed it to happen. An example of this is the
fast food industries, especially McDonalds, who are frequently hated for making society obese, for
their fattening and unhealthy foods. It is a common ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Receiving money from a company because their product has caused harm to a person is not a solution
because all it does is put a little amount of cash into your pocket. A credible example is the music,
popular culture, and media; particularly the Jerry Springer Show. The Jerry Springer Show influences
violence in an obvious manner, they allow fights to spark and spread like a wildfire without any ways
to extinguish it, therefore people are always getting harmed. However through this whole thing,
citizens who star on an episode expect something in the end of it, like sympathy and even money...
Ultimately, what would be received in the end of things, extra pocket change but you still do not have
your husband or baby in terms of the Jerry Springer Show. In other words, you try to get money out of
something that s your fault because of self determination but expect what you receive to be a long

Did you know that for forty years the United States Public Health Services did an experiment that was
conducted on hundreds of African American men that suffered from the late stages of syphilis? Well
they did. This experiment is called the Tuskegee Experiment . The men they researched were mostly
illiterate sharecroppers from one of the poorest counties in Alabama. The U.S. Public Health Services
never told the men what disease they suffered from, or its seriousness. The men were told they were
being treated for bad blood . The researchers never had the motive to cure the infected men. The data
was collected from the autopsies of the deceased men that were left to decay from the illness. The

The Stanford prison experiment , or the Zimbardo experiment , influenced Abu Ghraib in Iraq. The
Abu Ghraib is to toughen up prisoners who misbehaved. Nobody would ve known about Abu Ghraib,
if photos were not revealed. Zimbardo s experiment showed how people respond to a cruel
environment without clear rules. Dr. Zimbardo put an ad in the paper for healthy male volunteers.
With the flip of a coin they decided who would imitate the guards and who would imitate the
prisoners. The guards wore all khaki, with sunglasses. An imitation guard said, If you mask your
identity it can make you behave in ways you wouldn t normally behave without a mask on. The
prisoners were given a smock with a number on it. The number was their new identity for the
experiment. They also got a chain and lock around their one foot to remind them, that their freedom
was lost . Each day the simulated guards would taunt the fake prisoners. Experimental prisoner
number 8612, was the first to have an emotional breakdown. The fourth day in, things got very sexual,
and the guards loved to humiliate the prisoners. Every day a prisoner had a mental breakdown. After 6
days, Dr. Zimbardo shut down the experiment. The power of the situation changed everyone in the

What Is A Coffee Table Essay
A coffee table, which is also known as a center table, is a low table , specially designed to be placed in
front of a sofa. Your coffee table should be such that looks good, serves well and displays a few
accessories that reveal your personality and goes well with living room decor. A coffee table is usually
the centre of attraction in a living room. It should not just be not a mere piece of furniture but also be
functional and hopefully likely to become a conversation piece among the guests
Things to consider
1. Requirements are the priority: The coffee table that you plan to buy should be as per your needs,
beforehand decide what will be the utility of purchasing a coffee table for your living room.
2. Don t forget to measure: The size of the coffee table will largely depend on the sofa size and the
sitting arrangements. The standard height for coffee tables is from 16 to 18 inches, but may go as high
as 21 inches. A higher table is a smart choice if you entertain frequently so that guests don t have to
bend too much to set down their drinks. But, ultimately, the height of the adjacent upholstered pieces
should determine the height of the table. One guideline is that a coffee table should be about the same
height or one or two inches lower than the seat height of the sofa. And keep in mind to leave at least ...

The Importance Of Achievement
Achievement is something that some people silently compete for, to be better than everyone else. But,
other people strive for achievement like myself, they do not worry about others and try to be best they
can be, for themselves. There are multiple types of achievement, grades and school only impact
certain people, some people have different ideas of achievement and think they do not need schooling
to succeed and learn from just everyday life. There are over achievers, and then there are people who
just do what they need to, to pass a class. I feel that grades do not impact everyone s achievements
because some people do not worry about school and focus more on life achievements. My entire life I
have not worried about grades up until I saw my brother struggling with long division around age 17,
trying to get into the Army. My brother usually had all D and F s for grades; our childhood was not the
best. I do not blame him for his lack of motivation and urge to do better because no one tried to
motivate him, and simply gave up. In 7th grade, I did not worry about grades because everything just
came to me easily, this stayed the same until 10th grade when we started actual work. I struggled with
math and English because when I had the chance to succeed greater things, I just did what I needed to
pass. Now, I have entirely turned around and am on the A or B honor roll every semester since 9th
grade. I have strived for better grades because that is how I feel achievement. I

Reflection About Diversity
When you ask people what the first word that comes to mind when they think of diversity, they
usually reply with race, socioeconomic status, or other demographic elements. Diversity entails a
multitude of factors, yet can also be connected to the individual experience. Growing up, my identity
has been strongly tied to my upbringing in an Italian household with my father, mother, and brother.
Considering my father s parents emigrated from Liguria, the birthplace of pesto, growing basil
allowed us to maintain a connection with our heritage. As a child, I remember playing in my backyard
with my brother, careful to not roll the ball in the dirt where the basil was growing. That would ruin
the fun of picking it with my dad and making it with my mom. Yet, the truly satisfying aspect of this
tradition was sitting down as a family and sharing a meal complete with numerous anecdotes.
Religion was also a large part of my heritage so I attended Catholic school until my enrollment in UC
Berkeley. Thus, I adopted a commitment to live by Catholic values especially in regards to serving the
less fortunate. In elementary school, numerous community service trips to local homeless shelters
were organized. These trips always served as a baffling experience as it shocked me how people with
so little could have such a positive outlook on life and be so grateful. Every act, even that as simple as
retrieving a napkin, was met with a polite thank you. My service experiences also extended to those I
participated in as a Girl Scout troop, including volunteering at disadvantaged preschools and bowling
with special needs children. As such, these experiences were a contributing factor to my desire to
pursue a career in medicine, as it was a profession that focused on the betterment of the community.
Another force that propelled me to pursue medicine was my hearing impairment. From the age of 6, I
would request that I sit up at the front of the class so I could hear the teacher better. Responses were
mixed over the years, with some teachers simply dismissing my request, claiming that would project
their voices. Some even suggested that I transfer to a school for the hearing impaired. Frankly, I was
confused as nothing about my

Fear And Shock Tactics Essay
Fear and Shock Tactics in Advertising
According to the Statistic Brain and Research Institute, the fear of death is second on overall top
phobias. Due to this apparent fear that is shared by so many, we pose the question why advertisers use
this method to persuade, if it imposes distress on so many. This is one example of the use of fear and
shock tactics seen in ads. This tactic is seen primarily in drinking and driving PSA s and
advertisements. When observing a PSA for drinking and driving, such as Never by the Transport
Accident Commission, (TAC), the theme of fear and shock is very apparent to the viewer. The first
seconds consist of a car accident and then death, leaving the viewer stunned. The use of fear and shock
in drinking and driving advertisements are detrimental to the overall purpose because it does not make

According to Fear Patterns: A New Approach to Designing Road Safety Advertisements, Fear appeals
can evoke the emotion of fear, and also perhaps the emotions of shock or disgust in the viewing
audience with the aim of grabbing the audience s attention and motivating them to act in a
recommended way to avert the threat posed in the advertisement. (266). In other words what this
states, is at times the use of shocking the audience can go too far. This can result in the audience
straying away from this ad, leaving it to be uneffective. In the commercial Never , the outwardness of
a car accident and death in the first five seconds, takes away from the rest of the commercial, which is
the most important part. The video starts out with a couple in a car smiling and looking at each other
looking seemingly more than happy. Right from the start, a moment of intensity occurs. As the couple

Philosophy Of Rene Descartes
In modern philosophy, reality is viewed in a twofold manner: the immaterial mind on the one hand
and the extended body on the other. Also, we think of reality and divided between the I subject and an
external world of objects. This line of thinking is attributed to Rene Descartes, widely credited as the
father of modern philosophy. Descartes was a proponent of metaphysical dualism. He believed that the
mind and the body are distinct substances. To Descartes, we can reach certain knowledge about the
mind and consciousness through introspection. He reasons that we cannot doubt our existence as
thinking things because the fact that we think is undeniable. However, we tend to be fooled by our
sensory experience of the world around us, so it is possible to put the world outside of our minds into
doubt. To Descartes, philosophy is about attaining certain knowledge. We look upon the world as
knowing subjects. Descartes believed that we cannot properly philosophize without first establishing
certain principles to guide our investigation. We must doubt everything that can be doubted, and only
when we reach a position that cannot be doubted can we begin our quest to understand reality. Since
we begin with the thinking thing, the Cogito, the mind has ontological precedence over the body.
From Descartes onwards, the ultimate questions of philosophy were viewed as being epistemic in
nature. The big questions in philosophy were about the relationship of the thinking subject to the

Egotism Mean To Me
Concerning the discussion of ethics that have resulted in the many schools of reasoning from Egotism
to Consequentialism, to the idea of the golden mean to me are simply the efforts of a logical species to
stop a descent into nihilism in a world that in truth does not work off of a system of morality.
Arguably the reason that we as humans focus so much on the concept is simply because if the average
person did not have a guiding system of morals society would not be able to exist, and that society is
the best way for our species to propagate, and as such those who have morality are more likely to have
descendants who they themselves are more likely to have morality, and so on. Even babies and

I personally believe that the greatest benefit to me, i.e the action that will do the most good for me
without harming me in some way at some later point, will be the best action for me to take. However I
do not do this often. For example, from my view of morality I would not have said the last sentence
for fear of the short term benefit of me gaining some happiness from explaining my thought process
immediately being overshadowed by the chance of being ostracized by those who read this due to
them considering me selfish and therefore my position in society lowering, or simply receiving a
lower grade due to the grader disagreeing with my conclusion, which has happened before in the past.
Personally I do not know why I decided to write this despite what I know to be the better option.
Perhaps I m gambling on the idea that honesty will result in a higher social position and cancel out the
consequence, or perhaps I m acting on the nihilistic view that it doesn t really matter in the long run
and it s better to just air my grievances and thoughts than to lie in order to conserve social standing,
perhaps it is simply in my nature. Most likely the latter. People usually have this internal struggle
when doing things, be it consciously or subconsciously and all of their actions are determined by a
complex weighting scale of what is and isn t important to them, the balance of said scale determining
their actions. I find it interesting that this internal struggle happens almost entirely without constant
input in most cases. Meaning that odds are morality evolved before constant thought. Which is funny

Friday Night Lights by H.G. Bissinger Essay
H.G. Bissinger s Friday Night Lights brings to mind the cold, autumn nights of 1988 where a town,
just like any other rural town in America, was brought together in such a raw and emotional way.
From the rise and fall of Boobie Miles to the push for the playoffs, it is clear that 1988 Odessa was
swept up in the glory of football to replace the grandeur of the 1950s, which seemed to deteriorate
throughout that hectic decade. While a modern reader may view Bissinger s masterpiece as a tale from
a dated and faraway place, several factors have kept it in the public s eye. What is it about Friday
Night Lights that still resonates today? The answer can still be found in the same rural towns of
America. Though it may seem incredible, Texas is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, the English department at Permian High School was starved of necessary learning
materials so funds could instead go towards the football program. Gerrymandering even occurred in
the school district so Permian could hold on to its precious team and receive all of the talented black
players from the poor side of town. Practices such as the ones mentioned above are by no means
extinct. In my own school district of Round Rock, Texas, similar things occurred.
Though my district prides itself on preparing students for college, football is still king. It seems as if
Round Rock requires at least one of its five 5 A schools to be good at football. In 2010, Cedar Ridge
High School was created in the Round Rock Independent School District. Strangely enough, once
Cedar Ridge opened, all high schools seemed to be concerned about their football teams. All of the

than being proud of Round Rock for accommodating more people due to the school s location, citizens
were angered when Cedar Ridge became the new powerhouse in football. Citizens of Round Rock not

a camellia represents through the raw and tender love story of a kept woman named Marguerite
Gautier and a young gentleman named Armand Duval. Based on a true story and published in 1848,
the writer Alexander Dumas Fils did not compromise the lust and idolatry this couple had for each
other. In contrast, the movie adaptation titled Camille directed by Gregor Cukor, produced by irving
Thalberg and written by James Hilton, published in 1936, simply captured a diluted version of the
love story. The movie never lacked in the extravagance and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The introduction of the book, consisting of Dumas Fils going to Marguerites auction and then later
meeting Armand was completely taken out of the film. Although, that portion was unneeded in
capturing the story it would have been a nice touch to see how Dumas Fils fell upon his muse. The
movie then begins with Marguerite and Armand meeting at the theater, although, unlike the book the
characters seem to have a splendid time together, with Armand acting anything but foolish and
Marguerite saying nothing that was humorous, witty or charming. Although, this is how a romance in
a movie usually starts, the book was more truthful and unrefined, making the characters more likeable
and easier to relate to. After this scene it was evident that the characters were more sublime
throughout the movie and less unrealistic. For example in the book when M. Duval told Marguerite
that she had to leave Armand she fought for her love with every ounce of her emotion, crying phrases
like do you believe that I have made this love the hope, dream and redemption of my life (191).
However, the movie did not capture that same intensity of heart ache. In the film it did not take much
effort for M. Duval to convince her that she was not worthy of Armand because of her past affairs.
This consequenced in the film not having that same earnestness as the book, causing there to not

The Characteristics Of Jackson Vs. Jackson By Andrew Jackson
Defend your manhood and vindicate wanton outrage but, do it calmly. These last words, said by
Andrew Jackson s mother, echoed in the seventh presidents mind and heart. Jackson abided by his
mother s words to some extent and developed to become an isolated, ambitious, and vengeful man.
During his presidency, Jackson was seen as relentless, and at times unconstitutional. No one person
would dictate his decisions; not during the Indian Removal Act nor the nullification crisis, not even
when closing the Bank of the United States.
The glistening and seemingly useless plains west of the Mississippi did not compare to the nutritious
lands east of the Mississippi ideal for farming. Jackson desired the land for prospective colonists but
knew that it was inhabited by the five civilized tribes: the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and
Seminole. According to Jackson, he respected the natives but viewed them as lower than that of
whites. Therefore, he had every right , in his mind, to move the natives by treaty or by force. Most of
the Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole subsided to the government and moved westward
safely ; Many died to exhaustion, starvation, dehydration, and sickness during and after walk to their
permanent lands. The Cherokee, however, opposed of the removal because they had made an effort to
blend in to the colonists culture. Jackson still demanded they move westward; Again the Cherokee
refused and military force was used. The walk is now known as the Trail of Tears. During the eighteen
thirties, many colonists viewed the removal as a positive economic change but in present day America,
the removal has inadvertently costed the government billions of dollars. If Jackson were to predict that
the government would pay the Native Americans billions for their troubles, he would still have
followed through with the Indian Removal Act because his actions were not controlled by any external
source of information; If Jackson was determined, then he was unstoppable.
South Carolina took a stance against the ruthless Jackson, voiding a tariff enforced by the federal
government. The doctrine of nullification was advocated by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison
who believed that states

Ma Joad The Grapes Of Wrath
The character I have chosen to analyze is Ma Joad from The Grapes of wrath. Through the novel, the
Joad family faces a treacherous and long journey from Oklahoma to California. Throughout this
journey, people die, families fall apart, and spirits are crushed. However, through all that, there is one
person who has pledged her life to keeping her family safe and together; that person is Ma Joad. Ma
Joad is a forceful, devoted, and selfless leader; she may not start the story in charge, but as the journey
progresses, she does what it takes to keep her family safe. When we are first introduced to the Joad
family, they follow a typical family structure men in charge and woman on the side. The first patriarch
of the family we see is Grampa Joad. We learned that he once possessed a fierce and violent temper,
but in his old age uses only his words to hurt others. However, because of Grandpa Joad s age, he is
starting to pass some of the responsibility of leading to his son, Pa Joad. At this point, It is the men
who do the leading in the family, both Granma and Ma Joad accept and follow their commands
without question. Although, as the Joads get ready to leave, we see this dynamic began to shift. At this
point, we begin to see Ma Joad shift from being a common housewife, to being a strong mother and
leader. We start seeing her take charge occasionally for instance when she told Jim Casy he could join
them despite It not being her place to decide. Ma looked to Tom to speak,

Botulinum Toxin Lab Report
The botulinum toxin enters the body via the oral route in a complex enclosed by auxiliary proteins to
prevent metabolism of the toxin by endoproteases. The auxiliary proteins contain hemagglutinin (HA)
and a non toxic non hemagglutinin (NTNH) component which make up approximately 900kDa and
ensure the toxin enters the gut without being lysed by the present enzymes. The botulinum toxin in the
gut now has to enter the vascular system and does this via the process known as endocytosis and
undergoes a further process (transcytosis) to move it into the vasculature. The botulinum toxin acts on
neuron endings i.e. the neuromuscular junction and therefore needs to leave the vascular system.

toxin A and E cleave a bond in SNAP 25, but A cleaves the peptide bond between Gln197 Arg198
whilst E cleaves Arg180 Ile181. Only one peptide bond in the SNARE protein is cleaved by the
catalytic domain of the light chain, even though there may be more occurrences of the same bond
within the structure. The reason for this was speculated to be due to structural differences between the
serotypes and that the binding domain of each may be in a different position so that when the toxin
binds to its substrate it changes its orientation to cleave the peptide bond that is ideal in
correspondence with the change in orientation. The effect of the peptide bond cleavage is revealed
once an action potential reaches the neuron. An action potential at the neuron depolarises the
membrane and this causes an influx of Ca2+ ions in the axon. The formation of a neurotransmitter
occurs when acetyl CoA and choline react to produce acetylcholine in a process catalysed by the
enzyme choline acetyltransferase. The calcium ions stimulate neurotransmitter release and thus
acetylcholine molecules want to leave the cell via

Nail Polish Products
Beware Of DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate) In Nail Polish Products Nail polish products are rampant with
toxic chemicals which are harmful to human life. Dibutyl phthalate is a frequent chemical found in
many nail enamels and is part of what is called the toxic trio. This term refers to the three most
harmful chemicals found in many popular nail polish brands today. These toxic substances are toluene,
formaldehyde (methanal) and DBP (dibutyl phthalate). This article addresses the dangers of dibutyl
phthalate. What is DBP (Dibutyl Phthalate)? DBP is short for dibutyl phthalate. This substance is a
chemical which has a plastic nature. DBP is often used in nail enamels to keep the polish flexible.

Gullivers Travels Essay
Gulliver amp;#8217;s Travels, by Jonathan Swift, is regarded as one of the greatest satires in modern
history. The purpose of the book, although some of his contemporaries didn amp;#8217;t realize it, is
to ridicule his government, his rulers, and human nature as a whole. His generalization of the human
condition doesn amp;#8217;t manifest itself completely until Part IV of the book, where the main
character, Lemuel Gulliver, finds himself on an island inhabited by two main species amp;#8211; the
Houyhnhnms, horse like animals, and the Yahoos, human like animals. The difference between this
island and reality as we know it is the fact that the Houyhnhnms are intelligent, noble creatures

This seems too inhuman, and it appears that it would be impossible to be that intelligent and noble, yet

Houyhnhnm is a perfectionistic vision of how human nature, for the most part, should be amp;#8211;
ruled by reason.
The amp;#8220;negative ; extreme of human nature that Gulliver encounters is the Yahoos. The
Yahoos are naked, dirty creatures that physically resemble humans: amp;#8220;My horror and
astonishment are not to be described, when I observed, in this abominable animal, a perfect human
figure amp;#8230; ; (Swift 186). Immediately, Gulliver does not want to be considered one of the
Yahoos. He never takes off his clothes to reveal his likeness to the Yahoo body. The Houyhnhnms still
regard Gulliver, however, as either a amp;#8220;noble Yahoo ; or something in between a Yahoo and a
Houyhnhnm it seems they are unable to decide. At one point, one of the Houyhnhnms describes
Gulliver amp;#8217;s body to be extremely inefficient: amp;#8220;That I could not walk with any
security, for if either of my hinder feet slipped, I must inevitably fall. He then began to find fault with

I chose the word to save here because it fits the context well, and salvation is best represented by this

while also correctly aligning itself to the intended meaning for the Ephesian audience.

When you talk to the laity, you must understand that they are not going to understand very much
Greek (if any at all), so it is rarely fruitful to bring in any Greek terminology except for the Greek
word itself. For example, if I tell my audience that the Greek word σεσῳσμένοι is a Perfect Participle

communicate with the audience, so in my application of the text, I would emphasize how salvation
itself is a gift of God, as this is an important point that Paul makes. I would also tell them about how
they are continually in the process of being saved, and show them from my own study, in an
understandable way, how Christians continually work out their salvation. I would assure my
congregation that their salvation is secure in Christ, while also affirming the meaning of Paul s words
in a way that kindles their love for Christ. This text is ready made for the pulpit, and I feel this study

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Hyperaccumulators
The capacity for taking the metals depends on species to species and their surrounding environment
especially microclimate. However, hyperaccumulation of the species depends on three basic features
that distinguish hyperaccumulators from related non hyperaccumulators group. Basic hallmarks are;
[a] A rapid and significant root to shoot translocation of metals
[b] A potential capability of taking up heavy metals from the soil
[c] A much greater ability to detoxify and sequester huge amounts of heavy metals in the leaves If we
compare the root to shoot translocation of heavy metals in hyperaccumulator and non
hyperaccumulator then it is found that non hyperaccumulator retain the heavy metals in root cells
taken from the contaminated sites or sludges and then detoxifying them by chelation in the cytoplasm
and then storing them into vacuoles, while in hyperaccumulaors there are rapid and effective
translocation of heavy metals takes place. It is found that large quantity of organic molecules in small
quantity is present in hyperaccumulator roots that can operate as metal binding ligands. Free amino
acids play an important role in heavy metals hyperaccumulation in plants. Such amino acids are
histidine and nicotinamine, which form stable complexes with bivalent cations (Callahan 2008). The

Nationalism In Latin America
Anderson s concept of the imagined community highlights how the Media Luna regional identity as
distinct from the highland is socially constructed. In Anderson s study of the formation of nationalism
in Latin America, he notes how the boundaries of national identity have been re drawn by the creole
elites to encompass non Spanish speaking, indigenous groups. In so doing, that which was Spanish
was made foreign and that which was indigenous was native, even if the creole elite maintained racial
hierarchies. Understanding national identity as malleable and social constructed helps us understand
how the cruceños movement can re shape their identity, drawing on indigenous identity to legitimize
their claim to autonomy. Fabricant and Postero (2013)

How Did Nationalism Cause Ww2
People would do anything in order to ensure that their country would be the greatest in the world.
They do this because of nationalism, a very extreme form of belief and loyalty towards ones country.
This lead to many people believing their country was perfect; unequaled in economic, military, and
political power. Nationalism was very popular in the late 18th and 19th centuries; countries were
promoting nationalism in order to keep their citizens loyal. It played an important role in generating
conflict and revolutions during the World Wars and the Interwar years. WW1 s direct cause was the
assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand, an event that was caused specifically because of

Germany lost more than 13% of its land due to the limitations set by the treaty of Versailles, and the
people were outraged. It was soon said by Adolf Hitler, the restoration of the frontiers of 1914 could
be achieved only by blood ; showing that he knew that he must wage war if he wanted to regain the
lost land (Hitler, Mein Kampf). Once he came to power, Hitler was able to rally the people using the
idea of Lebensraum, or living space for the German people. The people were excited for Hitler
because they truly believed he would be the one to restore their losses. People soon began to follow
him more willingly, joining his Nazi party and increasing it substantially. He then invaded Poland, the
first step in his plan to conquer all of Germany s former lands. Japan waged war against China for the
same reason. More land was needed for the growing population, and the resources in Manchuria were
needed as well. Japan staged the Mukden incident to legitimize their reason for invasion, and this
depicts the effect that nationalism had on Japan s leader. They went as far as to stage an explosion on
their own train tracks to give them a reason for invading another country. These two ideas, the
Mukden incident and Lebensraum, show that nationalism led to the leaders of Japan and Germany to
go to the extreme in order to make their country a better place for themselves and for the people living

Swot Analysis Of Netflix
Due to the company s high dependence on the cost of content licensing and relationships with content
providers, the company is vulnerable at many levels.
Netflix suffers low profit margins due to the cost of international expansion and currency fluctuations.
Netflix faces tough competition with companies that broadcast live, unique and free content through
torrents and cable television.
Unlike its competitors Hulu and Amazon, Netflix does not generate income through advertisements.
At an international level, the dependence on laws and regulations of different countries is an obstacle
to the company s potential growth.
Netflix s high dependence on internet connectivity makes it difficult to gain popularity in many parts
of Asia and Africa, where internet connectivity is not well established.
Domestic providers tend to produce or broadcast series that are designed to match the customer s
needs. This can be challenging for Netflix to match.
Its dependence on the regulations and laws of different countries is a hinderance to Netflix s
international expansion. For example, in spite of China s attractive market with a massive broadband
capable population, it was very difficult for Netflix to operate due to strict regulations on the country s
media and entertainment industries. https://www.cayenneapps.com/swot app/swots/47887/analysis

False Shephers In Dante s Inferno
Literal: Poems are notoriously impossible to take literally as most of the meaning lies deeper within
the words, however, as Dante says, one first needs to understand the literal if one is to understand the

to be a shepherd who tend to sheep, They say to their sheep, a simple front. Lead them down the
surely green path. They seem to take good care of their flock, however, something seems wrong,

The poem seems to follow the traditional retribution principle argument, that if you do evil then evil

this is also a poem and does include the author s feelings and emotions and can simply be their
outlook and message that one should not be false shepherds in the first place. Nevertheless, at this
level we can separate the amateur writing from the great writing. If the moral messages of the writing
are strong then that means all the metaphors, symbols and imagery in the writing works in tandem
with each other to paint the larger picture. However, if the morals messages writing are weak then that
means the literary devices of the writing are also confusing and bewildering, leading to an unmoving
and ineffective piece of writing. This poem is not at the moral level yet, because the moral of the

The Electoral College Vs. Electoral College
Popular vote Vs. Electoral College
My initial feelings about the electoral college vs popular vote is that we need to switch over the the
popular vote. There are many benefits, I believe, that could help make everyone s votes matter. With
the popular vote it will not matter if you live in a state that vote one side consistently, your vote will
matter. I believe that switching the Electoral college to a popular vote would be beneficial to the
United States and our citizens. According to the National Forensic League, a popular vote would give
equal representation to all states and regions. As the voting is now states that vote one way
consistently would be overlooked by candidates and taken for granted. Although the Electoral college
states that they give equal balance to each state there is more attention on the swing states. Having a
popular vote would change the favoritism to the swing states, and create equality throughout the
United states. A popular vote would also make sure that each voter s vote would matter to the election.
The way the system sits now, if you are a democratic living in a commonly known Republican State,
your vote would be over looked and would matter. Citizens knowing this then give up on voting
knowing that it wouldn t matter in an electoral vote. With the switch to popular vote, the citizens
would have the final say in the Presidential election ensuring a nation by and for the people. The
reason why the Electoral vote was created was because

But, another physical change would be bending iron metal, the iron is still the same chemically whether it is made into I beams, or pressed into shapes to make the body of a car; the shape may change but it never changes chemically. In addition, a chemical change is the results in one or more substances that make up an entirely different composition from the original substances. The compounds and/ or elements at the start of the chemical reaction are rearranged into a new product of compounds or elements. However, the Gilded Age also produced negative outcomes that came along with industrialization and the rise of large cooperations. Industry, labor unions, and immigration together created the Gilded Age which was characterized by economic growth coupled with political and social inequality. To begin, throughout the Gilded Age, economic power was held in the hands of few. Many cooperations aimed to reduce competition through the use of horizontal and vertical integration. Without them, you are not able to get anything done. You are best able to gage if your being a successful leader if others are willing to follow you to accomplish positive change. If you are always considering others then it is easy to maintain an ethical approach because you make yourself more aware of what could be viewed as unethical within not only your contextual view but also others who think differently then you. The Relational Leadership Model is useful to build the mindset for thinking about others if you focus on the ethical and empowering side of the model (Komives, S. R., Lucas, N., McMahon, T. R, 2013). The way your treat those around you makes an important statement to your leadership style. Over all we do see men and woman in the field of museum work but the way they are treated is vastly different. Male curators will be involved in a more science and research field while women will usually fill the maintenance and care role. These two positions area not equally respected though they both use the title of curator. To maintain a collection is admirable but why collect if no information is obtained. So the woman in these positions are just a stepping stone for a researcher to come in and reap the rewards of intellectual discovery. • 7. M. Butterfly, Written by David Henry Hwang Essay As a big crucible, the United States is well known for its multiplicity of races. In order to maintain the diversity, the American government not only receives people from different backgrounds, but also sends American to all over the world in order to learn from various cultures. Even though countries become increasingly closer in their relations, there still exists numerous stereotypes and negative labeling among multi ethnic groups, which are most common between oriental and western. Along with a sharply risen number of Asian visiting America, Illinois Wesleyan University in Bloomington, which has never experienced much exotic cultures before, is facing both opportunities and challenges from Asian civilization. Stereotype towards Oriental women is one of the main themes in the play. The distressing ending that brings up Gallimard s suicide is an irreversible result of his distorted thinking toward Asian women, which blinds him to every truth about Song. As the title implies, Asian women are often compared to butterflies that are docile and delicate. In fact, the audience will discover that Oriental women are strong enough to take initiatives in reality. Both Gallimard and Song incorporate cultural notions into the performance and perception, so that Song is able to exploit Gallimard by those conventions. More than stereotypes toward Oriental women, the play also criticizes how the Western emasculate Oriental from their point of view, like what Gallimard claims in the play, Orientals will always submit to a greater force. (Act 2, Scene 3) Western flatters themselves that only a Westerner knows how the Oriental should act, with the view of Oriental as an effeminate female with delicacy and subservient. As Song explains The West has sort of an international rape mentality towards the East. (Act 3, Scene 1) By creating a false image of Song s gender precisely, Hwang brings another remarkable topic in this play, which is sexism. When Gallimard sees Song performing the dead scene from the opera Madama Butterfly, he cannot separate her role as a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Other products are alcohol and gun companies of which Coffman believes to be in the category of legal but harmful. Other manufacturers should not have to pay a financial settlement because of the idea of self determination, and that a financial settlement does not resolve the conflict. But, other people strive for achievement like myself, they do not worry about others and try to be best they can be, for themselves. There are multiple types of achievement, grades and school only impact certain people, some people have different ideas of achievement and think they do not need schooling to succeed and learn from just everyday life. There are over achievers, and then there are people who just do what they need to, to pass a class. I feel that grades do not impact everyone s achievements because some people do not worry about school and focus more on life achievements. My entire life I have not worried about grades up until I saw my brother struggling with long division around age 17, trying to get into the Army. My brother usually had all D and F s for grades; our childhood was not the best. I do not blame him for his lack of motivation and urge to do better because no one tried to motivate him, and simply gave up. In 7th grade, I did not worry about grades because everything just came to me easily, this stayed the same until 10th grade when we started actual work. I struggled with math and English because when I had the chance to succeed greater things, I just did what I needed to pass. • 15. Reflection About Diversity When you ask people what the first word that comes to mind when they think of diversity, they usually reply with race, socioeconomic status, or other demographic elements. Diversity entails a multitude of factors, yet can also be connected to the individual experience. Growing up, my identity has been strongly tied to my upbringing in an Italian household with my father, mother, and brother. Considering my father s parents emigrated from Liguria, the birthplace of pesto, growing basil allowed us to maintain a connection with our heritage. As a child, I remember playing in my backyard with my brother, careful to not roll the ball in the dirt where the basil was growing. That would ruin the fun of picking it with my dad and making it with my mom. Yet, the truly satisfying aspect of this tradition was sitting down as a family and sharing a meal complete with numerous anecdotes. Religion was also a large part of my heritage so I attended Catholic school until my enrollment in UC Berkeley. Thus, I adopted a commitment to live by Catholic values especially in regards to serving the less fortunate. In elementary school, numerous community service trips to local homeless shelters were organized. These trips always served as a baffling experience as it shocked me how people with so little could have such a positive outlook on life and be so grateful. Every act, even that as simple as retrieving a napkin, was met with a polite thank you. My service experiences also extended to those I participated in as a Girl Scout troop, including volunteering at disadvantaged preschools and bowling with special needs children. As such, these experiences were a contributing factor to my desire to pursue a career in medicine, as it was a profession that focused on the betterment of the community. Another force that propelled me to pursue medicine was my hearing impairment. From the age of 6, I would request that I sit up at the front of the class so I could hear the teacher better. Responses were mixed over the years, with some teachers simply dismissing my request, claiming that would project their voices. Some even suggested that I transfer to a school for the hearing impaired. Frankly, I was confused as nothing about my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 17. Philosophy Of Rene Descartes In modern philosophy, reality is viewed in a twofold manner: the immaterial mind on the one hand and the extended body on the other. Also, we think of reality and divided between the I subject and an external world of objects. This line of thinking is attributed to Rene Descartes, widely credited as the father of modern philosophy. Descartes was a proponent of metaphysical dualism. He believed that the mind and the body are distinct substances. To Descartes, we can reach certain knowledge about the mind and consciousness through introspection. He reasons that we cannot doubt our existence as thinking things because the fact that we think is undeniable. However, we tend to be fooled by our sensory experience of the world around us, so it is possible to put the world outside of our minds into doubt. To Descartes, philosophy is about attaining certain knowledge. We look upon the world as knowing subjects. Descartes believed that we cannot properly philosophize without first establishing certain principles to guide our investigation. We must doubt everything that can be doubted, and only when we reach a position that cannot be doubted can we begin our quest to understand reality. Since we begin with the thinking thing, the Cogito, the mind has ontological precedence over the body. From Descartes onwards, the ultimate questions of philosophy were viewed as being epistemic in nature. The big questions in philosophy were about the relationship of the thinking subject to the ... Arguably the reason that we as humans focus so much on the concept is simply because if the average person did not have a guiding system of morals society would not be able to exist, and that society is the best way for our species to propagate, and as such those who have morality are more likely to have descendants who they themselves are more likely to have morality, and so on. Most likely the latter. People usually have this internal struggle when doing things, be it consciously or subconsciously and all of their actions are determined by a complex weighting scale of what is and isn t important to them, the balance of said scale determining their actions. During his presidency, Jackson was seen as relentless, and at times unconstitutional. No one person would dictate his decisions; not during the Indian Removal Act nor the nullification crisis, not even when closing the Bank of the United States. The glistening and seemingly useless plains west of the Mississippi did not compare to the nutritious lands east of the Mississippi ideal for farming. Jackson desired the land for prospective colonists but knew that it was inhabited by the five civilized tribes: the Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole. According to Jackson, he respected the natives but viewed them as lower than that of whites. Therefore, he had every right , in his mind, to move the natives by treaty or by force. Most of the Chickasaw, Choctaw, Creek, and Seminole subsided to the government and moved westward safely ; Many died to exhaustion, starvation, dehydration, and sickness during and after walk to their permanent lands. The Cherokee, however, opposed of the removal because they had made an effort to blend in to the colonists culture. Jackson still demanded they move westward; Again the Cherokee refused and military force was used. The walk is now known as the Trail of Tears. During the eighteen thirties, many colonists viewed the removal as a positive economic change but in present day America, the removal has inadvertently costed the government billions of dollars. If Jackson were to predict that the government would pay the Native Americans billions for their troubles, he would still have followed through with the Indian Removal Act because his actions were not controlled by any external source of information; If Jackson was determined, then he was unstoppable. The auxiliary proteins contain hemagglutinin (HA) and a non toxic non hemagglutinin (NTNH) component which make up approximately 900kDa and ensure the toxin enters the gut without being lysed by the present enzymes. The botulinum toxin in the gut now has to enter the vascular system and does this via the process known as endocytosis and undergoes a further process (transcytosis) to move it into the vasculature. The reason for this was speculated to be due to structural differences between the serotypes and that the binding domain of each may be in a different position so that when the toxin binds to its substrate it changes its orientation to cleave the peptide bond that is ideal in correspondence with the change in orientation. The effect of the peptide bond cleavage is revealed once an action potential reaches the neuron. • 28. Gullivers Travels Essay Gulliver amp;#8217;s Travels, by Jonathan Swift, is regarded as one of the greatest satires in modern history. The purpose of the book, although some of his contemporaries didn amp;#8217;t realize it, is to ridicule his government, his rulers, and human nature as a whole. His generalization of the human condition doesn amp;#8217;t manifest itself completely until Part IV of the book, where the main character, Lemuel Gulliver, finds himself on an island inhabited by two main species amp;#8211; the Houyhnhnms, horse like animals, and the Yahoos, human like animals. The difference between this island and reality as we know it is the fact that the Houyhnhnms are intelligent, noble creatures governed wholly by reason, and the Yahoos are ... Overall, however, Gulliver amp;#8217;s view of the Houyhnhnm is a perfectionistic vision of how human nature, for the most part, should be amp;#8211; ruled by reason. The amp;#8220;negative ; extreme of human nature that Gulliver encounters is the Yahoos. The Yahoos are naked, dirty creatures that physically resemble humans: amp;#8220;My horror and astonishment are not to be described, when I observed, in this abominable animal, a perfect human figure amp;#8230; ; (Swift 186). Immediately, Gulliver does not want to be considered one of the Yahoos. He never takes off his clothes to reveal his likeness to the Yahoo body. The Houyhnhnms still regard Gulliver, however, as either a amp;#8220;noble Yahoo ; or something in between a Yahoo and a Houyhnhnm it seems they are unable to decide. At one point, one of the Houyhnhnms describes Gulliver amp;#8217;s body to be extremely inefficient: amp;#8220;That I could not walk with any security, for if either of my hinder feet slipped, I must inevitably fall. He then began to find fault with other parts of my body, the flatness of my face, the prominence of my nose, my eyes placed directly in front, so ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

To be made does not fit the context, and to be healed does not encompass the full extent of what Christ is doing to us, which is saving us from deserved eternal torment. Defining this word as to save is the best definition because it fully encompasses the salvation that Christ gives to people, while also correctly aligning itself to the intended meaning for the Ephesian audience. 2. When you talk to the laity, you must understand that they are not going to understand very much Greek (if any at all), so it is rarely fruitful to bring in any Greek terminology except for the Greek word itself. For example, if I tell my audience that the Greek word σεσῳσμένοι is a Perfect Participle Passive verb, some of them might think I am speaking in tongues. It is important to actually communicate with the audience, so in my application of the text, I would emphasize how salvation itself is a gift of God, as this is an important point that Paul makes. I would also tell them about how they are continually in the process of being saved, and show them from my own study, in an understandable way, how Christians continually work out their salvation. I would assure my congregation that their salvation is secure in Christ, while also affirming the meaning of Paul s words in a way that kindles their love for Christ. However, hyperaccumulation of the species depends on three basic features that distinguish hyperaccumulators from related non hyperaccumulators group. Basic hallmarks are; [a] A rapid and significant root to shoot translocation of metals [b] A potential capability of taking up heavy metals from the soil [c] A much greater ability to detoxify and sequester huge amounts of heavy metals in the leaves If we compare the root to shoot translocation of heavy metals in hyperaccumulator and non hyperaccumulator then it is found that non hyperaccumulator retain the heavy metals in root cells taken from the contaminated sites or sludges and then detoxifying them by chelation in the cytoplasm and then storing them into vacuoles, while in hyperaccumulaors there are rapid and effective translocation of heavy metals takes place. In Anderson s study of the formation of nationalism in Latin America, he notes how the boundaries of national identity have been re drawn by the creole elites to encompass non Spanish speaking, indigenous groups. In so doing, that which was Spanish was made foreign and that which was indigenous was native, even if the creole elite maintained racial hierarchies. Once he came to power, Hitler was able to rally the people using the idea of Lebensraum, or living space for the German people. The people were excited for Hitler because they truly believed he would be the one to restore their losses. People soon began to follow him more willingly, joining his Nazi party and increasing it substantially. He then invaded Poland, the first step in his plan to conquer all of Germany s former lands. Japan waged war against China for the same reason. More land was needed for the growing population, and the resources in Manchuria were needed as well. Japan staged the Mukden incident to legitimize their reason for invasion, and this depicts the effect that nationalism had on Japan s leader. They went as far as to stage an explosion on their own train tracks to give them a reason for invading another country. • 38. Swot Analysis Of Netflix Due to the company s high dependence on the cost of content licensing and relationships with content providers, the company is vulnerable at many levels. Netflix suffers low profit margins due to the cost of international expansion and currency fluctuations. Netflix faces tough competition with companies that broadcast live, unique and free content through torrents and cable television. Unlike its competitors Hulu and Amazon, Netflix does not generate income through advertisements. At an international level, the dependence on laws and regulations of different countries is an obstacle to the company s potential growth. Netflix s high dependence on internet connectivity makes it difficult to gain popularity in many parts of Asia and Africa, where internet connectivity is not well established. Domestic providers tend to produce or broadcast series that are designed to match the customer s needs. This can be challenging for Netflix to match. Electoral College My initial feelings about the electoral college vs popular vote is that we need to switch over the the popular vote. There are many benefits, I believe, that could help make everyone s votes matter. With the popular vote it will not matter if you live in a state that vote one side consistently, your vote will matter. I believe that switching the Electoral college to a popular vote would be beneficial to the United States and our citizens. According to the National Forensic League, a popular vote would give equal representation to all states and regions. As the voting is now states that vote one way consistently would be overlooked by candidates and taken for granted. Although the Electoral college states that they give equal balance to each state there is more attention on the swing states. Having a popular vote would change the favoritism to the swing states, and create equality throughout the United states. A popular vote would also make sure that each voter s vote would matter to the election. The way the system sits now, if you are a democratic living in a commonly known Republican State, your vote would be over looked and would matter.
