The Sistine Chapel Choir
Since the late 1400s, the Sistine Chapel Choir has consisted of 24 male singers. These singers are split
into four different parts soprano, alto, tenor and bass with 6 singers in for each part. The soprano and
alto would consist of the upper range and tenor and bass would be the lower range. The high voices
consist of men that could sing in the falsetto range or men who unfortunately was snipped in order to
keep their voices in that range. Those men were later replaced by boys in the 1800s but the choir still
remains all males.
In a Catholic church, they believed that singing music it was best to be unaccompanied so it can be
sung from the heart to the ear of God without any interference. So there would be no musical
instruments playing

My Personal Philosophy Of Innovation
Nursing Innovation and Leadership: A Personal Philosophy To embrace the person that you are, in a
time and place where everyone seems to be telling you that you should be everything but the person
that you are, is a daunting but worthwhile challenge. I believe that it is in the acceptance of our true
selves, imperfections and all, that we gain the ability to view others through a lens colored with
compassion and acceptance. It is then that we can become a leader who is self aware and emotionally
competent.
Personal Philosophy of Innovation My personal philosophy of innovation encompasses many ideas. It
is not only thinking outside of the box, but questioning why the box is even necessary. It is about
creating opportunity out of disappointment, being open to different, and unafraid of being vulnerable.
It is about breathing, living, and embodying the change that you want to see in the world and
exploring new paths in achieving that change. Innovation is being courageously defiant in the face of
the universe shouting You can t and replying with a resounding Watch me .
Personal Definition of Innovation I believe that innovation is the process of examining a new and
different method that cause one internally and/or spiritually look at something as you have never seen
it before, and the creation of a new meaning to the way that we relate to and interact with people, the
environment, health, and nursing.

How Did Queen Elizabeth 1 Make England A Better Place
Queen Elizabeth 1: Made England a better place As Queen Elizabeth arrived at the Tower of London
she said Her lands as true as a subject, being prisoner, as ever landing at these stairs. Before Thee, O
God, I speak it, having none other friends but Thee alone (Elizabeth i quotes.) This quote shows that
Queen Elizabeth was very lonely and innocent at the Tower of London as a prisoner. Queen Elizabeth
1 made England a better place while in rule. Before becoming Queen, Elizabeth was a princess. On
September 7, 1533 Queen Elizabeth was born to a King and Queen in England (Biography queen
elizabeth 1). While growing up, Queen Elizabeth did academic studies and sports; she also learned the
art of public speaking, which was most significant later in her life (Biography queen elizabeth 1). ...

She lived in her half brother Edward s household. However, she still lived much like the daughter of a
king. She had people who took good care of her and tutors who helped her with her studies. She was
very bright and learned to read and write in many different languages. She also learned how to sew
and play a piano like musical instrument called the virginal. (Biography queen elizabeth 1) Later in
her life when she was still a princess she got locked in the Tower of London by her half sister Mary
Tudor. Mary Tudor got jealous of her and that is why she locked up her half sister. But they never
really got along. After that Queen Elizabeth was crowned as queen. A few years after that Mary Tudor

Flannery O Connor s Revelation
Flannery O Connor believed in the power of religion to give new purpose to life. She saw the fall of
the old world, felt the force and presence of God, and her allegorical fictions often portray characters
who discover themselves transforming to the Catholic mind. Though her literature does not preach,
she uses subtle, thematic undertones and it is apparent that as her characters struggle through violence
and pain, divine grace is thrown at them. In her story Revelation, the protagonist, Mrs. Turpin, acts
sanctimoniously, but ironically the virtue that gives her eminence is what brings about her downfall.
Mrs. Turpin s veneer of so called good behavior fails to fill the void that would bring her to heaven.
Grace hits her with force and their illusions, causing a traumatic collapse exposing the emptiness of
her philosophy. As Flannery O Connor said, In Good Fiction, certain of the details will tend to
accumulate meaning from the action of the story itself, and when this happens they become symbolic
in the way they work. (487). The significance is not in the plot or the actual events, but rather the
meaning is between the lines. In Flannery O Connor s short story Revelation, the dynamic character of
Mrs. Turpin serves as an ideal lens to examine humanity; the transformation from a woman of
hypocrisy to a woman of grace is crucial to understanding the theme. Mrs. Turpin thinks very highly
of herself, is satisfied with her place in the world and classifies all others

Romanticism Themes
I have, and always will be, been a strange kid; a lonely kid. I have been interested in things the other
kids made fun of me for. I was (and am) in drama, band, and loved dissecting in my elementary
G.A.T.E. class. Things were not always how they seemed though. One day after losing someone very
close to me I was in my closet reveling in the dark as a way to calm my anxiety, and a thought had
struck me. Why is it that I have to change? Why can t I follow my heart? These questions are one of
the main themes of Romanticism. Romanticism is a movement in the arts and literature that originated
in the late 18th century, emphasizing inspiration, subjectivity, and the primacy of the individual.
Though the literary period for Romanticism is over, its themes and ideas are very much alive in this
modern world. Romanticism in the literary family is the moody teenager . The themes of this literary
period include: Revolution, democracy, and republicanism, The Sublime and Transcendence, The
power of the imagination, genius, and the source of inspiration, Proto psychology and extreme mental
states, and Nature and the Natural. (Romantic Notes) The authors of these literary tales believed logic,
reason, and religion did not matter; that you should follow your heart no matter what consequences
may follow. I grew, day by day, more moody, more irritable, more regardless of the feelings of others.
(The Black Cat) Like most stories, an element of Romanticism is taking the readers on a

How Far Do Zinc Acetate Dehydrate
AZO thin films are prepared by the sol gel route. As a starting material, zinc acetate dehydrate
(Zn(CH3COO)2, 2H2O) (sigma Aldrich) is dissolved in a mixture of pure ethanol and
monoethanolamine (MEA, C2H7NO) to yield a precursor concentration of 0.75 M. Aluminum nitrate
nonahydrate (Al(NO3)3, 9H2O) (sigma Aldrich) was added to provide a solution with an atom ratio
Al/Zn of 3%. This resulting mixture was stirred for 1 h at 50°C. The MEA to zinc acetate molar ratio
was set to 1.0. Prior to sample deposition, the glass substrates were firstly degreased by detergent and
rinsed with distilled water. The substrates were subsequently cleaned ultrasonically in ethanol and

Administration Is Poorly Or Carelessly Done
administration is poorly or carelessly done (e. g., starting meetings late can discourage some of the
most effective people from coming another time, vagueness about the agenda creates disorder in the
people s minds and often in the progress of the meetings, and failure to plan results in drifting).
Therefore, it benefits the preacher in charge and all of those associated with him/her, to plan and
execute the plan wisely. The end results of the planning may strengthen persons and groups in their
abilities, attitudes, habits, fellowship, and spiritual understanding and dedication. The record of the
past, recent, or distant holds no special comfort for this moment, except that the record suggests that
there is in our midst a viable, stable vehicle that can be successfully utilized. It will not come by
praying, and preaching, and singing alone. It must come by employing the instruments, skills, and
expertise of the administrative body under the direction of its black preacher to make his witness that
we are, indeed, sons and daughters of the Father. Taking into account the fact that many pastors are
not trained administrators, Howell continues to advocate that the Black Preacher s administrative roles
and expectations are plural in numbers. When the pastor s various administrative duties are listed and
grouped into meaningful classifications, the many roles begin to become clear. The following is a list
of these administrative roles using the acronym D.O.C.T.O.R., with a

Population Health And Its Impact On Nursing Practice
Introduction Population health as a framework for examining health is not a new concept. Historically,
epidemiologist have used this to formulate etiologies of disease by measuring variations within a
population and the impact of environmental factors (Radzyminski, 2007). Governments have also
applied this concept to the implementation of interventions geared at improving the health of nations
(Radzyminski, 2007). Although the concept is not new, the term population health has only been
recently defined and differentiated from the definitions of community health, public health, and
population focused care. This paper will discuss the current definition of population health, its impact
on nursing practice, its relation to evidence based practice, and the importance of interprofessional
collaboration in the delivery of population health care.
Population Health Defined
To understand the concept of population health, it is first important to understand what defines health.
The World Health Organization defines health as the state of complete physical, mental, and social
well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity (WHO, 1946). This definition implies
that the experience of health is a highly personal one and impacted by multiple factors both internal
and external to the individual. Population, on the other hand, is defined by Caldwell (1996) as a large
mass of people constituting some kind of definable unit to which measurements pertain (p.306).

Scientific Management
Critically discuss the notion that Scientific Management was a good idea in the history of management
thinking.
Since the thousands of years, people use the management in the great projects such as the Egyptian
pyramids and the Great Wall of China. According to Robbins, et al. (2006), Henri Fayol said that all
managers perform five functions: planning, organizing, commanding, coordinating and controlling in
the early part of the twentieth century. Robbins stated that, in the mid 1950s, management functions
changed to planning, organizing staffing, directing and controlling. However, management functions
have been reduced to four such as planning, organizing, leading and controlling.
There are six major approaches to management: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Cole (2004, p 20) stated that Gantt introduced a payment system that although the employee s
performance was below on the individual s instruction card, he still qualified for the day rate but
performance of all the work allocated on the card qualified the individual for bonus. Gantt found that
when one worker found that he could achieve the task, the rest quickly followed. As a result,
supervision improved, breakdowns were minimized. Gantt s bonus system also allowed for the
employee to challenge the time allocated for a particular task.
There are a lot of benefits from scientific management. First, the productivity increases dramatically
by improving the working method. Second, the supervisors can measure the performance base on the
working methods. Third, it motivates the employees by incentive payments base on the results on the
performance. Finally, the physical working conditions for employees also improved because of
scientific management. (Cole, 2004)
Although scientific management has a lot of benefits, it also has some disadvantages. Firstly, the
worker s role is reduced by the rigid methods and procedures. Another drawback is the employees will
be bore because of same steps of procedures. Next one is scientific management generates a carrot and
stick approach to the motivation of employees by enabling pay to be geared tightly to output (Cole,
2004). As stated by Buren (2008), proponents of

Child Abuse And Spousal Abuse
A term that is quite often used in today s society is family violence, more specifically child abuse and
spousal abuse. A term that is not heard often is elder abuse, which is unfortunate due to the fact that it
is a fairly common occurrence. It was estimated that in 2009, one in ten elderly Americans were
victims of elder abuse within the previous year (Acierno, 2010). Even though elder abuse is prevalent
here in America, it is seldom that this phenomenon is actually discussed. According to the National
Center on Elder Abuse, there are seven types of elder abuse: physical abuse, sexual abuse,
psychological abuse, financial exploitation, neglect, self neglect, and abandonment (Fischer, 2012, p.
102). The American Medical Association defines elder abuse and/or neglect as an act of commission
or omission that results in harm or threatened harm to the health or welfare of an older adult whether
intentional or unintentional (Read, 2016, p. 32). In the 1950 s, public welfare officials were faced with
an increasing number of older persons who were unable to manage on their own and began to develop
a new approach to providing services, which they called protective service units (Bonnie Wallace,
2003, p. 238). Due to their interest, Congress passed legislation, as part of the Social Security Act,
providing funds to the states (Bonnie Wallace, 2003, p. 239) in order to set up these protective service
units. In 1974, Congress amended the Social Security Act,

Summary Of Broken Bones
Title: Broken Bones!
There is always an adventure where my younger sister Lauren and I go. Our young minds always find
so much to do. With so little to do where we lived of course. Lauren and I would run around and play
with these two kids that lived in the same apartment complex. Their names were Marco and Malik.
Unfortunately, they were way younger than me but, I had no one else to play with. No other kids lived
where we lived. While I was in the sixth grade, the boys were only in second and third grade. It wasn t
as hard for Lauren to play with them as seeing how she is two years younger than me. One day, we
decided to play in the back yard where we almost always played. In the backyard, there was a small
dog house that sat ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

CRUNCH! Excruciating pain sears, stinging, running up and down my right arm. Tears running down
my face, just adding more heat to my pained body. Marco, oh my gosh, what happened? Malik asked
in a loud panicked voice. He wouldn t know considering he was taking a look out waiting for Lauren
to come around. I don t know, I was playing with the tree too, and the next thing I know, she s
screaming and falling off the dog house. Katie are you okay? I ve never seen you cry before? Marco
asked, concerned for me. Shaking my head side to side, tears still running down my face and all I can
feel is the deep pulsing that is running through my arm and wrist. The boys rush over to me, trying to
help me get up so that I can get to my mom in the house. Half way there we see Lauren start rushing
over to us when she sees me. Oh my! Katie what happened? Lauren asked me speaking faster than
normal trying to get out what she wanted to say. She was playing on the tree while we were waiting
for you and she fell off the tree house. Marco described to Lauren for me. She runs to the house to go
and get mom, but before she could get mom out to me, Marco, Malik and me were at the front door.

A Great Mistake Of The Athenians
This was a great mistake of the Athenians, as Thucydides claims, most of them (Athenians) being
ignorant of its (Sicily) size and of the number of its inhabitants, Hellenic and barbarian, and of the fact
that they were undertaking a war not much inferior to that against the Peloponnesians . So, Athens
undervalued Sicily and overvalued their (the Athenians) greatness. Nicias tried to warn citizens about
the wealth and strength of the Sicilian states enemies they would have to challenge, and insisted on a
great preparation and investments in the expedition to make it possible. He also added: Indeed, even if
we leave Athens with a force not only equal to that of the enemy except in the number of heavy
infantry in the field, but even at all points superior to him, we shall still find it difficult to conquer
Sicily or save ourselves .
The preparation for the expedition began and the departure to Sicily took place. It worth saying that all
Athenians were taking part in preparation, the government and citizens did their best. Indeed this
armament that first sailed out was by far the most costly and splendid Hellenic force that had ever
been sent out by a single city up to that time .
Alcibiades, one of the generals of the expedition, had a lot of enemies in Athens, due to his luxury life
and desire to get as much fame as possible. So, before the departure of expedition his enemies tried to
do everything to implicate him in scandals and expose. All in all Alcibiades was

The American Red Cross (ARC)
The American Red Cross (ARC) has long faced multiple ethical dilemmas associated with various
aspects of its operations. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been closely scrutinizing the
organization related to its blood donation services (Ferrell, Fraedrich, Ferrell, 2015). In Canada, over
1,000 people; mostly hemophiliacs dependent on life saving blood clotting products, have been
infected by HIV tainted transfusions and more than 500 Canadian hemophiliacs have subsequently
died of AIDS as a result of contaminated blood from the Red Cross (Grace, 1995). These accusations
were related to mismanagement of screenings and blood collections as well as failing to discard
potentially unsafe donations. Many speculate that these issues arose ... Show more content on

After the debacle with the blood, they development and implementation of standardized and more
uniform history questionnaires to help to ensure that they are maintaining the same standards across
all collection sites (Zou, Eder, Musavi, Notari IV, Fang, Dodd (2007). The changes that were made to
the Code of Business Ethics and Conduct in January of 2007 now requires that all employees read and
sign the two page document stating and acknowledging understanding of the company s expectations.
They also implemented a 24 hour anonymous call line where anyone can call to voice concerns about
the organization. They also published an Ethics Rules and Policies statement that outlines the details
about how business will be conducted regarding business funds, property, allocation of time,
addressing conflicts of interest, recordkeeping and the handling of media inquiries (Ferrell, Fraedrich,
Farrell, 2015). While those are all effective tools to manage what has happened in the past, the ARC
will also need to ensure that they are not allowing anything to damage their reputation going forward.
To do this, they will need to be diligent in their hiring practices; ensuring that they are following the
same policy and procedures for each employee and that expectations are laid out regarding ethical
behavior from the very beginning of employment. They will need to, at least yearly, revisit ethical
responsibility topics with all employees to keep those skills fresh and on the forefront of everyone s
mind. It will be imperative for the company to continue to build itself back up from its previous
failures and to ensure that they have learned from their

Toddlers Case Study
Slide 2 Toddlers rights
In society people have to right to have their rights protected and their needs meet, this should be the
same for toddlers within early childhood education and care. Within the early childhood setting
toddlers have the right to be cared for, loved and nurtured. Te One (2011) states that it is important to
listen to toddlers voices, weather its through verbal or non verbal communication and she emphasises
on the importance of early childhood educators ensuring that they are protecting the rights of the
toddlers in their care. This means educators need to advocate and ensure that the principle within the
Convention on Rights of the Child are understood and are implemented within early childhood
education and care.
Slide 3 The Convention on the Rights of the Child
Convention on the Rights of the child (CRC) was first created by the United Nations alongside a
group of experts in child related fields, in 1989 and according to the Ministry of Justice (2017) the
New Zealand Government officially signed it in 1993. This was a legal agreement among nations that
commits each cooperating country to work toward guaranteeing environments that foster children s
development, protect them from harm, and enhance their community participation and self
determination (Berk, 2013,p.37). Creating this document was the step the countries needed to help
ensure the avocation for the rights of every child and has helped guide our centre policies. UNICEF

Some immigrants have trouble adapting to a new lifestyle because of limited resources. Yet, other
immigrants who did not have much of a difficult time were able to integrate Spanish into a new
society. For instance, Areli Martinez, a Mexican immigrant studying Psychology at UCLA, moved to
the U.S. with her family in pursuit of better quality of life did not experience much difficulty in
adjusting. From an email interview (see email interview above), she mentions her experiences as a
Spanish speaker in California. Although it was not difficult for Martinez to adjust, her implications
included language barriers and weak cultural values (see email response below). Due to language
barriers and lack of cultural values, Martinez struggled with grammar and placing her thoughts on

diversity and freedom to create her own values. Further, she also realizes that importance of Spanish
in both the U.S. and Mexico (Martinez). With regards to the historical roots of Spanish, the Western

The Case Of William Marbury Deserved The Commission Or Not
This case was a case for the ages that challenged the very decision of our newly elected president. The
former President Adam after a grueling election has lost and in order to maintain the legacy of the
Federalist, he began to appoint justices to the Supreme Court. These judges were appointed by the
president and confirmed by the Senate, but unfortunately for these justices, the letters that confirmed
the appointment never reached the potential justices. Adams was working quickly to push the
appointments through, but unfortunately he ran out of time and Jefferson took office. Jefferson saw the
appointment letters on his desk and discarded them. One of the potential justices was William
Marbury and he sued the president for his Supreme Court appointment. His goal was to have the court
to order a writ of mandamus, which if completed, would order a government official to fulfil their
official duties. The Chief justice presented three questions that needed to be decided by the court. The
first issue addressed was whether William Marbury deserved the commission or not. The court opened
the questioned if the law had a remedy for the situation. The final question was whether the writ of
mandamus the appropriate legal action in the case. These questions were debated and the court
confirmed that Marbury deserved the commission, but they found that the Judiciary Act of 1789 which
allowed the court to submit the very writ of mandamus Marbury needed was unconstitutional.

Crvical Cancer Essay
With more than 500,000 new cases being detected each year, cervical cancer is one of the leading
causes of cancer affecting women worldwide.1, 2 A very high burden of cervical cancer mortality is
found in developing countries, where nearly 9 out of 10 cases result in cervical cancer related
mortality among women.3, 4 These healthcare disparities can be largely explained by the lack of
access to effective cervical cancer screening programs in low resource settings, such as Sub Saharan
Africa (SSA), that allow for early detection and treatment.5 African women have an extremely high

Squamous intraepithelial lesions (SIL) or cervical intraepithelial neoplasia (CIN), the HPV mediated

women.20, 21 HIV leads to an increased prevalence of HPV and incidence of CIN in HIV infected

twice as likely to progress to high grade cervical intra epithelial neoplasia (HGCIN) in HIV infected

As we are in nursing profession and working in clinical setting all the day, we encounter many
patients and we used to do physical examination every shift as per our hospital policy and we report
document in their file the observations and then doctors revisit, so the continuity of care must be
provided.
This again helps us in building competency in our assessment skill which will be beneficial for us and
for the patients.
2.4 Current Research:
Many researches have been done on the importance of physical assessment and it also shows that
regular physical examination helps in decreasing morbidity and mortality rates. It also helps the health
care workers to detect the diagnosis earlier and to treat them with promptness. Early identification of
Cancers are also been treated effectively and increase patients prognosis.

Energy Drinks Benefits
In the article, the author claims that there is little to no evidence that energy drinks have any benefits. I
think the author successfully supports his claim. Energy drinks have little scientific support, rely on
caffeine, and have the same effects as coffee and NoDoz. There have been very few studies on energy
drinks or their ingredients. Dr. Craig A. Goodman, could not find any trials in humans of the additive,
glucuronolactone, That is used in energy drinks. Dr. Goodman stated I have no idea what it does in

Oyster Dress By Alexander Mcqueen
Art is all around us. There are many different forms of art. It can be something created, captured, or it
can be already existent. Not a single person is to say what makes something art because there is a
different definition for everyone. However, there are a couple factors that come into mind whenever
someone decides to declare something as art. In this essay I will be comparing and contrasting four
different pieces of art. I will be discussing each art piece s form, time period of creation, intention or
purpose, and value. These four pieces of art are Michelangelo s Pieta, Fountain by Marcel Duchamp,
Mark Rothko s No.61, and the Oyster Dress by Alexander McQueen. These works of art come in all
different shapes and sizes but they are valued ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
61 (Rust and Blue). This piece is a painting that was layered with color on canvas. Rothko decided to
use layered colors to enrich the hues in the painting and to lend it a quality that artist described a that
of inner light (mark rothko.org). This piece was created in 1953. This piece, Fountain, and the Oyster
dress were all created in close proximity to each other in comparison to Pieta, which was created
between 1498 and 1499. This piece by Rothko consists of large expanses of colour delineated by
uneven, hazy shades (mark rothko.org). From the documentary we watched on Rothko the other day
in class, I learned that he wanted his paintings to evoke the basic human emotions. Although this piece
is simple it is meant to resonate with the audience so that they can personally connect with it I some
way. I think this is a very different approach to art. Most artists try to paint a scene, or have a story
behind their art but Rothko approaches his art with emotion in hopes that it evokes emotion with
others. This piece was created in a relatively similar time period to some of the other pieces, but its
materials and intention are different from all of the other

Hyundai s Ad Analysis
The modern human being s life is continuously flooded by advertising. Ads surround society in
everything a person does, from watching television to listening to the radio, or even walking down the
street. These advertisements range from celebrity promotions to home goods products and everything
in between, all for the sake of convincing people to pick their product over another competitors
product. When a deeper look is taken at these advertisements, one will find that they are not merely
just selling a car or a box of cereal. In actuality, companies along with their product, are trying
subtlely to sell cultural stereotypes, beliefs and trends. Within their advertisement, Hyundai effectively
uses graphics, language and argument to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Hyundai not only focuses on where their ad will be placed but they also focus on who their audience
will be. Sports Illustrated reaches the particular audience of male sports fans, of which most can be
placed into the upper and middle social classes. For the purpose of this advertisement, Hyundai
specifically targeted football fans, especially NFL fans. Since the majority of the subscribers are in the
upper and middle class, due to their ability to afford the expense of the magazine, they are able to
spend their money on more luxurious items such as a car. Therefore, a car advertisement is reasonable
considering the audience s demographics. Considering the readers interests and social class Hyundai s
placement of their advertisement in Sports Illustrated has rational because of its placement and its
ability to connect with a certain audience.
To sell a product companies will use certain colors to evoke particular emotions from their targeted
audience. Hyundai s uses different shades of grey and black throughout their advertisement, including
a black model of the car and a grey and black sky. When used in advertising, black normally represents
sophistication or luxury, while grey is typically a neutral or calm color (Ciotti). Therefore, the color
black will make readers more likely to interpret the 2012 Hyundai Genesis R Spec as a luxurious and
sophisticated car. The incorporation of grey

A Game For Price And Tampa Bay
And the Rays are in the postseason. David Price goes the distance. A complete game for Price and
Tampa Bay is back in the post season. Those were the words of Brian Anderson, the play by play
announcer when the Tampa Bay Devil Rays won the American League Wild Card tiebreaker game,
beating the Texas Rangers 5 2. It was also the last time the Rays have been in the playoffs. In 2014
and 2015, they finished second to last in the AL East. Fans get tired of watching their teams lose. We
can t control the outcome of the game, but we can control the experience that they have while at the
ballpark. It s clear to see that attendance has been a problem lately. Attendance has dropped every

We issued 12,000 passes, and around 2,000 people took advantage of the free offer per game. You can
agree with me that filling up seats is a good thing, correct? Even if that means giving away tickets for
free, it leads to more parking revenue, sales of concessions, and a greater overall atmosphere inside
the stadium. We aren t going from having the least amount of fan attendance to a sold out stadium
overnight. I suggest we continue down this path of giving away free tickets for a while to help fill
more seats. Give them to different groups per game. Besides the veterans, some examples would be
sponsors, nearby companies, little league teams, etc. Bringing these people in would give them a new
experience that they could share with their friends. Think about it. If a kid comes home from baseball
practice with free tickets, his parents won t turn him down. That would bring a whole family into the
stadium. Then at school the next day, that boy would be telling his friends what a great time he had.
Word of mouth is the cheapest and best method of advertising. The biggest problem leading to low
attendance is the location of our stadium. It is located in St. Petersburg, which only has a population of
about 250,000 people (refer to the map at the end). Tropicana Field is within a 30 minute drive for
only 20% of the Tampa Bay population base. That s the lowest number of residents within

Macbeth s State Of Mind
Throughout Shakespeare s tragedy of Macbeth, the motif of time plays a significant role as Macbeth s
state of mind progresses throughout the play. Time serves as a vital role in a tragedy, for as time
progresses, a character s inevitable and ill fated end draws closer and closer. In Shakespeare s play,
Macbeth becomes completely consumed by time as he is fixated on an illusory future and becomes
haunted by his inescapable, bloodstained past. Essentially, throughout the play, Macbeth continually
fights for his royal future, yet realizes too late that, due to the unavoidable passing of time and
mortality of life, his position as King of Scotland will be transient and momentary. Nevertheless,
throughout the course of the play, Macbeth s state ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Yet, he also recognizes that if he were to disturb the natural time and progression of events in this
bank and shoal of time (I.vii.6), he would be jeopardizing his future, for he would still have judgment
here (I.vii.8). As Macbeth ponders whether or not to kill his king in order to try to become king
himself, his main hesitations arise from the fact that, if he does kill Duncan, he will be consumed by
guilt and will suffer judgment and consequences in both this world and in the afterlife. Paralleling
Hamlet s to be or not to be speech, Macbeth s uncertainty about the afterlife and what will arise from
his mortal actions cause him to desire to proceed no further in this business (31). Thus, Macbeth s
attention on the afterlife reveals his state of mind relative to time at this point in the play as he focuses
on the future while debating whether to essentially overleap time and make himself King of Scotland,
or wait and see if the witches prophecy will come true. However, in regards to the prophecies, the
witches never mention when anything will take place. Thus, Macbeth is left with an internal struggle
as he ponders whether to let nature run its course and hopefully become king naturally, or whether to
disturb the normal order of the world and overrun the natural progression of time to ensure his
crowning. Although Macbeth concludes at the end of

Essay on Mendin Wall
Walls Have Two
In Robert Frost amp;#8217;s amp;#8220;Mending Wall, ; he shows a man views about a wall. The
man names both pros and cons of having the wall. He also hints at how a wall might affect a particular
society. The poem is a conversation between two neighbors on either side of a wall. The main speaker
amp;#8217;s conversation shows his views about the purpose of the wall, and it amp;#8217;s
effectiveness to either bring people together, or it amp;#8217;s tendency to separate them.
The main speaker amp;#8217;s conversation shows his feelings about the purpose of the wall. His
monotonous feeling toward mending the wall shows his reluctance to having the wall. In his ... Show

But since the wall needs repairing every spring the two neighbors have reason to be together. Though
the two don amp;#8217;t speak much about meaningful things they are still together. And maybe this
is why the second speaker thinks that amp;#8220;Good fences make good neighbors ; (27).
The speaker contradicts his early view of the wall amp;#8217;s ability to bring people together when
he shows how the wall separates people. He demonstrates this when he says, amp;#8220;And set the
wall between us once again we keep the wall between us as we go ; (14). Even at the time when the
two are mending the wall there is no conversation about each of their personal lives. Instead all that
they talk about is the object that separates them, the wall. The wall seems to take away from them
becoming more knowledgeable about each other amp;#8217;s lives, which often hinders a friendship.
The speaker also refers to a wall as giving separation through offense when he says, amp;#8220;And
to whom I was like to give offense ; (34).
This poem offers a holistic view of a wall and it amp;#8217;s affect on neighbors. This aspect of the
poem allows the reader to decide on the need for a wall. Walls serve many purposes in society like
boundaries, defense, and offense. But should society as a whole let wall separate itself from one
another. So the question still stands do walls or fences really make

The Steam Engine and the Civil War
Question: How did the Steam Engine influence the Civil War and America in itself?
Throughout the Civil War, there were many people and inventions that positively influenced The Civil
War, but none other than the steam engine. The steam engine was one of the most influential
inventions of the Civil War and America in itself. Before the Steam Engine trade was limited and the
American economy was doing very poorly. The causes of this were the rules of trade and the
inefficient transportation. At the time between the 1700 and 1800 s trade was only allowed during the
Day and was transported by a Wagon and horse which took weeks to deliver. The Steam Engine not

Paragraph V. The Influences of the Steam Engine
Topic Sentence The Influence of the Steam Engine started with many things, such as the struggle with
trade and the limited amounts of transportation.
1.One influence of the Steam Engine was better transportation and trading. With the Railroad and
Train, trade was evolved and goods could be transported fresher and faster.(Savery,Thomas
47,48)
2. Another Influence of the Steam Engine was the lack of transportation. Before the Steam Engine
transportation was limited to only a horse and carriage which moved very slowly. (Pursell, C.W.)
Conclusion These influences of the steam engine helped make what America is today as a superpower
and shaped our economy for the future.
Although there were many other important figures and inventions that positively influenced America
and the Civil War, the Steam Engine is still one of the most important ones. The Steam Engine
evolved trade and transportation forever from switching the standard choice of transportation from a
Horse and Carriage to a Locomotive that was capable of carrying many people. It also changed the
way trade was looked at by decreasing the amount of time goods and supplies took to reach their
destination. The transcontinental Rail Road made it possible for trade to be delivered promptly and
efficiently. With the Locomotive, various types of goods could be transported even goods that needed
to be refrigerated. With the

A Study On The Classroom
Alina was observed during the morning in her third grade class. At the start of the observation, Alina
appeared focused and engaged as she worked independently on a math assignment. After a few
minutes, Mrs. Hippchen, Alina s third grade teacher, reviewed the math answers to the class. As Mrs.
Hippchen reviewed the answers and called upon students to provide answers, Alina appeared focused
as she listened and wrote on her math worksheet. She occasionally looked over at a peer s paper
during the activity. When Mrs. Hippchen asked the students to raise their hands if they obtained the

math problem. She incorrectly answered the question, however, with her teacher s feedback, she was
able to correct her answer.
Mrs. Hippchen then instructed the class to clear their desks to start a new math activity. Alina followed

The Ford Motor Company And General Motors
The largest contributor to Canada s Gross Domestic Product is Canada s largest manufacturing
employer (Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers Association, 2011), but how has this sector surpassed all
other industries? and how has this sector survived all the economic destructions riddled throughout
Canada s history? This is the Canadian automotive industry and it is enormous and powerful yet so
threatened by politics. Two of the largest players in the automotive industry are the Ford Motor
Company and General Motors. By comparing the two paths both parallel companies have taken
throughout over one hundred years of operations (Dykes, 2015), we can expose proper and improper
business strategies within Canada. We can adventure through the strengths built up by management,
the weaknesses that have attacked through the inside, the potential opportunities forecasted to arise,
and the threats that may enforce themselves towards these industrial giants. From this we may be able
to gather just what it takes to survive the Canadian market. The Ford Motor company was founded in
Windsor Ontario in 1904 and initiated the commercialization of the automotive industry in Canada
(Dykes, 2015). Four years later in 1908 General Motors was founded by Colonel R.S. Mclaughlin.
The government of Canada had placed tariffs, long before the invention of the working combustion
engine, on carriages entering Canada (Melandon, 2009). This in turn forced entrepreneurs like

How Did Christianity Influence Medieval Literature
The Medieval Period was a time in history that lasted from the 5th Century to the 16th Century.
Medieval literature has been hugely influential in modern popular culture. During the middle Ages, a
great emphasis was placed on the combination of fantasy and reality. Though characters were given
human characteristics, their personalities transcended to those of fabricated figures as of God, Saints,
and brave leaders. The Middle English period features a host of firsts in English literature, such as the
first romance, drama, autobiography, fiction, and the first woman writer in English history. That
period was a gateway for cultural movement for later centuries such as the Renaissance, Romanticism
and so on. Furthermore, there was a great influence of Christianity on the literature since Christianity
was only religion at that time. Positive impact in literature was very notable by the presence of
Christianity. Middle age shows how the romance of medieval England engages with its Christin
culture. Sir Gawain and the Green Knight and Malory s Morte Darthur, establishes the importance of
reading romances and culture represented by Christianity. Heroism, loyalty, personal honor and
chivalry were addressed in this period by every author. Nature and status of women was one of the

Of the factors necessary for creating a successful schedule, models that were developed that were

outcomes, particularly when measuring student and teacher performance (Mattox, et. al, 1999; Nolan,

Characteristics Of The High Renaissance
This research paper looks at the High Renaissance and the artists that it had produced during this
period. During this time period there were three individuals that had dominated the art world. These
three artists are Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. Even though this paper discusses
about the High Renaissance and the three who dominated it, the main focus of the paper is on
Leonardo Da Vinci. Even though he mad such famous paintings, he was not a prolific painter; he was
prolific draftsman as well as a great engineer, architect, inventor, and scientist. Besides having many
famous paintings, Da Vinci also had thousands of drawings, sketches, and doodles that he is famous
for. The drawings contained many notes of what he was interested. There are drawings of the study of
the human body, of his inventions and just things he see is interesting. In art history, the High
Renaissance period refers to a short period in which there was an exceptional artistic production in the
Italian states. The reason why this part of the Reniasance period is called the High Renaissance is
because it has been seen as the time in which the artistic aim and goals of the Renaissance has reached
their greatest application (n.d.). The High Renaissance style was the dominant art style during 16th
century Italy. Many historians believe that three individuals dominated this time period of art. These
individuals are Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. The oldest of the three was Leonardo
Da Vinci
Leonardo Da Vinci was a universal genius. He was not only just the best painter of the world at the
time, but he was also known as a great inventor, architect, engineer and scientist. Even though he was
great in many fields, he is mostly known from his achievements as the painter of many famous
Renaissance art masterpieces.
Da Vinci was born on April 15, 1452 near the village of Vinci, which is 25 miles away from Florence.
Da Vinci was the illegitimate son of a local of Florence and a prominent notary Florence, Ser Piero Da
Vinci. Not much of his childhood is known, but as a teen he became an apprentice of Andrea del
Verrochio, the leading artist of Florence and the early Reniassance (2017). Later on Leonardo

The Ethics Of Virtue Ethics
Virtue ethics is a normative theory whose foundations were laid by Aristotle. This theory approaches
normative ethics in substantially different ways than consequentialist and deontological theories. In
this essay, I will contrast and compare virtue ethics to utilitarianism, ethical egoism, and Kantianism
to demonstrate these differences. There is one fundamental aspect of virtue ethics that sets it apart
from the other theories I will discuss. For the sake of brevity and to avoid redundancy, I will address it
separately. This is the fundamental difference between acting ethically within utilitarianism, egoism,
and Kantianism. And being ethical within virtue ethics. The other theories seek to define the ethics of
actions while virtue ethics does not judge actions in any way. The other theories deal with how we
should act, while virtue ethics determines how we should be. The first theory I will compare virtue
ethics against is ethical egoism. The two theories share a commonality apart from being normative in
nature. They both seek what is best for the doer. Aristotle claimed that happiness is ultimately attained
by striving for the function of man which is the excellence found within virtue. This is comparable to
ethical egoism because of it s principle of exclusively acting in one s own best interest. While virtue
ethics states that a virtuous character is the goal, ethical egoism is not specific to what is in a person s
best interest. If attaining a virtuous character is

Beowulf Evil Vs Evil Essay
Throughout history we have seen different kind of battles and duels, but all of this confrontations have
always represented the good vs. the evil. There has been demons, monster, and even the mind of a
human itself, but good has always found a way to keep the world balanced. There has always been
different ways in which evil has been presented, but I believe that the most awful and dreadful one is
the devil. The devil controls every other dreadful creature in the world, he is the reason why evil
exists. Even though we always picture monster and demons as the representation of evil, humans can
also be evil, and we can be even worse. Human beings have a certain ability to hurt other people
psychologically, and it can be even more painful than hurting someone physically. We tend to make
people feel less, excluded and small, so we can have an advantage over them. This is the same exact
methodology for monsters and demons, the only difference is that they do it physically. Movies,
theatre, books and comic have always presented evil as gigantic and dreadful creatures, that always try
to make humans, demigods, or even gods to feel small and impotent. But that is the thing about evil, it
is always beaten by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It presents an awful creature named Grendel, which is obviously the representation of evil. Beowulf
and Grendel have a duel, and at the end Beowulf win, because good always triumphs. In a film, I
would portray Grendel as a giant vampire, that has claws and horns. In that way Grendel would be
able to slaughter all the men he wants. This is a great story to represent the epic in it, and the global
controversy that has always been here, good vs. bad. At the end of the day, there will always be a good
side and a bad side in every situation, story, movie, or even lifestyle. You are able to choose whatever
you want, but make sure you make a good

Martha Irvine s Bros Before Hos
Martha Irvine, a graduate of the University of Michigan published an article titled Queer Evolution
which talked about how the word Queer itself has evolved into the mainstream. Originally the word s
definition was to describe something as odd or weird. Society utilized the word Queer as an insult to
the LGBTQ community. As more sexual orientations are being discovered, Queer became a more
accepted word in the gay community in order to make things simpler. Irvine s essay showed that
whatever word we use, can affect a person depending on the intention, and the tone of how it s being
said. Irvine s essay is very similar to Deborah Tannen s essay You re Wearing That which talks about
the relationship between mother and daughter and how words have established expectations for
women based on their appearance and behavior. Another essay that well connects with Tannen and
Irvine s articles is a section from a book written by Michael Kimmel titled Bros Before Hos : The Guy
Code. Kimmel talks about The Guy Code , rules that a man should always follow in order to be
considered a real man. Words are the reason why these standards have been established for all genders
and sexualities. The relationships between parents and children would be better if words were
replaced, which would abolish the expectations that society has for men and women. Many decades
ago, The LGBTQ community were seen as the worst of society, they were labeled as the lowest of the
low, something nobody

Legalization Of Marijuan The Hot Button Issues Of Todays...
Andrew Sheridan
Legalization of marijuana is one of the hot button issues of todays political arena. For the last several
decades the federal government has waged its infamous War on Drugs, a war on it s own citizens
which covers all manner of psychoactive substances that have been deemed illegal. Strikingly,
thousands upon thousands of citizens have been incarcerated for crimes associated with the
production, distribution, and the consumption of marijuana. Marijuana is a plant that has been
cultivated for thousands of years for both its psychoactive effects and its industrial applications. The
founding fathers of the United States were among those who cultivated marijuana. Grassroots efforts
are defined by the text We the People: An ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As these numbers increase the question of legalization in general across the states has become an
interesting and pressing issue. Multiple stances on both the pro and con side of the issue exist.
Supporting arguments often use studies to back up their claims. In an October 15, 2014 article in The
Washington Post, Christopher Ingraham writes of the non negative aftereffects of the
decriminalization of marijuana. In particular he reviews a report from the Center on Juvenile and
Criminal Justice, which studied California, where full decriminalization began at the start of 2011. Of
interest the report states marijuana decriminalization in California has not resulted in harmful
consequences for teenagers, such as increased crime, drug overdose, driving under the influence, or
school dropout. (Ingraham). Make no mistake, Ingraham is quick to point out that correlation is not
causality. He does however note The sky hasn t fallen. (Ingraham). The naysayers who predicted that
California s youth would fall into aimless lifestyles were incorrect. In addition to studies, other
arguments cite documentaries. In his article released today, 20 April 2015, Zachary Wener Fligner
writing for Quartz reviews the CNN documentary Weed 3: The Marijuana Revolution . In it Dr.
Sanjay Gupta interviews President Obama, and Gupta asks the President if he supported the

The high voices consist of men that could sing in the falsetto range or men who unfortunately was snipped in order to keep their voices in that range. My Personal Philosophy Of Innovation Nursing Innovation and Leadership: A Personal Philosophy To embrace the person that you are, in a time and place where everyone seems to be telling you that you should be everything but the person that you are, is a daunting but worthwhile challenge. I believe that it is in the acceptance of our true selves, imperfections and all, that we gain the ability to view others through a lens colored with compassion and acceptance. It is then that we can become a leader who is self aware and emotionally competent. Personal Philosophy of Innovation My personal philosophy of innovation encompasses many ideas. It is not only thinking outside of the box, but questioning why the box is even necessary. It is about creating opportunity out of disappointment, being open to different, and unafraid of being vulnerable. It is about breathing, living, and embodying the change that you want to see in the world and exploring new paths in achieving that change. Innovation is being courageously defiant in the face of the universe shouting You can t and replying with a resounding Watch me . Personal Definition of Innovation I believe that innovation is the process of examining a new and different method that cause one internally and/or spiritually look at something as you have never seen it before, and the creation of a new meaning to the way that we relate to and interact with people, the environment, health, and nursing. • 5. Flannery O Connor s Revelation Flannery O Connor believed in the power of religion to give new purpose to life. She saw the fall of the old world, felt the force and presence of God, and her allegorical fictions often portray characters who discover themselves transforming to the Catholic mind. Though her literature does not preach, she uses subtle, thematic undertones and it is apparent that as her characters struggle through violence and pain, divine grace is thrown at them. In her story Revelation, the protagonist, Mrs. Turpin, acts sanctimoniously, but ironically the virtue that gives her eminence is what brings about her downfall. Mrs. Turpin s veneer of so called good behavior fails to fill the void that would bring her to heaven. Grace hits her with force and their illusions, causing a traumatic collapse exposing the emptiness of her philosophy. As Flannery O Connor said, In Good Fiction, certain of the details will tend to accumulate meaning from the action of the story itself, and when this happens they become symbolic in the way they work. In Flannery O Connor s short story Revelation, the dynamic character of Mrs. Turpin serves as an ideal lens to examine humanity; the transformation from a woman of hypocrisy to a woman of grace is crucial to understanding the theme. I was (and am) in drama, band, and loved dissecting in my elementary G.A.T.E. class. Things were not always how they seemed though. One day after losing someone very close to me I was in my closet reveling in the dark as a way to calm my anxiety, and a thought had struck me. Why is it that I have to change? Why can t I follow my heart? These questions are one of the main themes of Romanticism. Romanticism is a movement in the arts and literature that originated in the late 18th century, emphasizing inspiration, subjectivity, and the primacy of the individual. Though the literary period for Romanticism is over, its themes and ideas are very much alive in this modern world. Romanticism in the literary family is the moody teenager . The themes of this literary period include: Revolution, democracy, and republicanism, The Sublime and Transcendence, The power of the imagination, genius, and the source of inspiration, Proto psychology and extreme mental states, and Nature and the Natural. Therefore, it benefits the preacher in charge and all of those associated with him/her, to plan and execute the plan wisely. The end results of the planning may strengthen persons and groups in their abilities, attitudes, habits, fellowship, and spiritual understanding and dedication. • 9. Population Health And Its Impact On Nursing Practice Introduction Population health as a framework for examining health is not a new concept. Historically, epidemiologist have used this to formulate etiologies of disease by measuring variations within a population and the impact of environmental factors (Radzyminski, 2007). Governments have also applied this concept to the implementation of interventions geared at improving the health of nations (Radzyminski, 2007). Although the concept is not new, the term population health has only been recently defined and differentiated from the definitions of community health, public health, and population focused care. This paper will discuss the current definition of population health, its impact on nursing practice, its relation to evidence based practice, and the importance of interprofessional collaboration in the delivery of population health care. Population Health Defined To understand the concept of population health, it is first important to understand what defines health. The World Health Organization defines health as the state of complete physical, mental, and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity (WHO, 1946). This definition implies that the experience of health is a highly personal one and impacted by multiple factors both internal and external to the individual. Population, on the other hand, is defined by Caldwell (1996) as a large mass of people constituting some kind of definable unit to which measurements pertain (p.306). Multiple ... Since the thousands of years, people use the management in the great projects such as the Egyptian pyramids and the Great Wall of China. According to Robbins, et al. Robbins stated that, in the mid 1950s, management functions changed to planning, organizing staffing, directing and controlling. However, management functions have been reduced to four such as planning, organizing, leading and controlling. There are six major approaches to management: ... Cole (2004, p 20) stated that Gantt introduced a payment system that although the employee s performance was below on the individual s instruction card, he still qualified for the day rate but performance of all the work allocated on the card qualified the individual for bonus. Gantt found that when one worker found that he could achieve the task, the rest quickly followed. As a result, supervision improved, breakdowns were minimized. Gantt s bonus system also allowed for the employee to challenge the time allocated for a particular task. There are a lot of benefits from scientific management. First, the productivity increases dramatically by improving the working method. Second, the supervisors can measure the performance base on the working methods. Third, it motivates the employees by incentive payments base on the results on the performance. Finally, the physical working conditions for employees also improved because of scientific management. (Cole, 2004) Although scientific management has a lot of benefits, it also has some disadvantages. Firstly, the worker s role is reduced by the rigid methods and procedures. Another drawback is the employees will be bore because of same steps of procedures. • 11. Child Abuse And Spousal Abuse A term that is quite often used in today s society is family violence, more specifically child abuse and spousal abuse. A term that is not heard often is elder abuse, which is unfortunate due to the fact that it is a fairly common occurrence. It was estimated that in 2009, one in ten elderly Americans were victims of elder abuse within the previous year (Acierno, 2010). Even though elder abuse is prevalent here in America, it is seldom that this phenomenon is actually discussed. According to the National Center on Elder Abuse, there are seven types of elder abuse: physical abuse, sexual abuse, psychological abuse, financial exploitation, neglect, self neglect, and abandonment (Fischer, 2012, p. 102). The American Medical Association defines elder abuse and/or neglect as an act of commission or omission that results in harm or threatened harm to the health or welfare of an older adult whether intentional or unintentional (Read, 2016, p. 32). In the 1950 s, public welfare officials were faced with an increasing number of older persons who were unable to manage on their own and began to develop a new approach to providing services, which they called protective service units (Bonnie Wallace, 2003, p. 238). Due to their interest, Congress passed legislation, as part of the Social Security Act, providing funds to the states (Bonnie Wallace, 2003, p. 239) in order to set up these protective service units. So, Athens undervalued Sicily and overvalued their (the Athenians) greatness. Nicias tried to warn citizens about the wealth and strength of the Sicilian states enemies they would have to challenge, and insisted on a great preparation and investments in the expedition to make it possible. He also added: Indeed, even if we leave Athens with a force not only equal to that of the enemy except in the number of heavy infantry in the field, but even at all points superior to him, we shall still find it difficult to conquer Sicily or save ourselves . The preparation for the expedition began and the departure to Sicily took place. It worth saying that all Athenians were taking part in preparation, the government and citizens did their best. These judges were appointed by the president and confirmed by the Senate, but unfortunately for these justices, the letters that confirmed the appointment never reached the potential justices. The Chief justice presented three questions that needed to be decided by the court. The first issue addressed was whether William Marbury deserved the commission or not. The court opened the questioned if the law had a remedy for the situation. The final question was whether the writ of mandamus the appropriate legal action in the case. This piece, Fountain, and the Oyster dress were all created in close proximity to each other in comparison to Pieta, which was created between 1498 and 1499. This piece by Rothko consists of large expanses of colour delineated by uneven, hazy shades (mark rothko.org). From the documentary we watched on Rothko the other day in class, I learned that he wanted his paintings to evoke the basic human emotions. Although this piece is simple it is meant to resonate with the audience so that they can personally connect with it I some way. I think this is a very different approach to art. Most artists try to paint a scene, or have a story behind their art but Rothko approaches his art with emotion in hopes that it evokes emotion with others. This piece was created in a relatively similar time period to some of the other pieces, but its materials and intention are different from all of the other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sports Illustrated reaches the particular audience of male sports fans, of which most can be placed into the upper and middle social classes. For the purpose of this advertisement, Hyundai specifically targeted football fans, especially NFL fans. Since the majority of the subscribers are in the upper and middle class, due to their ability to afford the expense of the magazine, they are able to spend their money on more luxurious items such as a car. Therefore, a car advertisement is reasonable considering the audience s demographics. Considering the readers interests and social class Hyundai s placement of their advertisement in Sports Illustrated has rational because of its placement and its ability to connect with a certain audience. To sell a product companies will use certain colors to evoke particular emotions from their targeted audience. Hyundai s uses different shades of grey and black throughout their advertisement, including a black model of the car and a grey and black sky. When used in advertising, black normally represents sophistication or luxury, while grey is typically a neutral or calm color (Ciotti). Time serves as a vital role in a tragedy, for as time progresses, a character s inevitable and ill fated end draws closer and closer. In Shakespeare s play, Macbeth becomes completely consumed by time as he is fixated on an illusory future and becomes haunted by his inescapable, bloodstained past. Essentially, throughout the play, Macbeth continually fights for his royal future, yet realizes too late that, due to the unavoidable passing of time and mortality of life, his position as King of Scotland will be transient and momentary. Yet, he also recognizes that if he were to disturb the natural time and progression of events in this bank and shoal of time (I.vii.6), he would be jeopardizing his future, for he would still have judgment here (I.vii.8). As Macbeth ponders whether or not to kill his king in order to try to become king himself, his main hesitations arise from the fact that, if he does kill Duncan, he will be consumed by guilt and will suffer judgment and consequences in both this world and in the afterlife. Paralleling Hamlet s to be or not to be speech, Macbeth s uncertainty about the afterlife and what will arise from his mortal actions cause him to desire to proceed no further in this business (31). Thus, Macbeth s attention on the afterlife reveals his state of mind relative to time at this point in the play as he focuses on the future while debating whether to essentially overleap time and make himself King of Scotland, or wait and see if the witches prophecy will come true. However, in regards to the prophecies, the witches never mention when anything will take place. Thus, Macbeth is left with an internal struggle as he ponders whether to let nature run its course and hopefully become king naturally, or whether to disturb the normal order of the world and overrun the natural progression of time to ensure his crowning. He demonstrates this when he says, amp;#8220;And set the wall between us once again we keep the wall between us as we go ; (14). Before the Steam Engine transportation was limited to only a horse and carriage which moved very slowly. (Pursell, C.W.) Conclusion These influences of the steam engine helped make what America is today as a superpower and shaped our economy for the future. Although there were many other important figures and inventions that positively influenced America and the Civil War, the Steam Engine is still one of the most important ones. The Ford Motor Company And General Motors The largest contributor to Canada s Gross Domestic Product is Canada s largest manufacturing employer (Canadian Vehicle Manufacturers Association, 2011), but how has this sector surpassed all other industries? and how has this sector survived all the economic destructions riddled throughout Canada s history? This is the Canadian automotive industry and it is enormous and powerful yet so threatened by politics. Two of the largest players in the automotive industry are the Ford Motor Company and General Motors. By comparing the two paths both parallel companies have taken throughout over one hundred years of operations (Dykes, 2015), we can expose proper and improper business strategies within Canada. Medieval literature has been hugely influential in modern popular culture. During the middle Ages, a great emphasis was placed on the combination of fantasy and reality. Though characters were given human characteristics, their personalities transcended to those of fabricated figures as of God, Saints, and brave leaders. • 41. Characteristics Of The High Renaissance This research paper looks at the High Renaissance and the artists that it had produced during this period. During this time period there were three individuals that had dominated the art world. These three artists are Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. Even though this paper discusses about the High Renaissance and the three who dominated it, the main focus of the paper is on Leonardo Da Vinci. Even though he mad such famous paintings, he was not a prolific painter; he was prolific draftsman as well as a great engineer, architect, inventor, and scientist. Besides having many famous paintings, Da Vinci also had thousands of drawings, sketches, and doodles that he is famous for. The drawings contained many notes of what he was interested. There are drawings of the study of the human body, of his inventions and just things he see is interesting. In art history, the High Renaissance period refers to a short period in which there was an exceptional artistic production in the Italian states. The reason why this part of the Reniasance period is called the High Renaissance is because it has been seen as the time in which the artistic aim and goals of the Renaissance has reached their greatest application (n.d.). The High Renaissance style was the dominant art style during 16th century Italy. Many historians believe that three individuals dominated this time period of art. These individuals are Leonardo Da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael. The oldest of the three was Leonardo Da Vinci Leonardo Da Vinci was a universal genius. • 42. The Ethics Of Virtue Ethics Virtue ethics is a normative theory whose foundations were laid by Aristotle. This theory approaches normative ethics in substantially different ways than consequentialist and deontological theories. In this essay, I will contrast and compare virtue ethics to utilitarianism, ethical egoism, and Kantianism to demonstrate these differences. There is one fundamental aspect of virtue ethics that sets it apart from the other theories I will discuss. For the sake of brevity and to avoid redundancy, I will address it separately. This is the fundamental difference between acting ethically within utilitarianism, egoism, and Kantianism. And being ethical within virtue ethics. The other theories seek to define the ethics of actions while virtue ethics does not judge actions in any way. The other theories deal with how we should act, while virtue ethics determines how we should be. The first theory I will compare virtue ethics against is ethical egoism. The two theories share a commonality apart from being normative in nature. They both seek what is best for the doer. Aristotle claimed that happiness is ultimately attained by striving for the function of man which is the excellence found within virtue. This is comparable to ethical egoism because of it s principle of exclusively acting in one s own best interest. • 43. Beowulf Evil Vs Evil Essay Throughout history we have seen different kind of battles and duels, but all of this confrontations have always represented the good vs. the evil. There has been demons, monster, and even the mind of a human itself, but good has always found a way to keep the world balanced. There has always been different ways in which evil has been presented, but I believe that the most awful and dreadful one is the devil. The devil controls every other dreadful creature in the world, he is the reason why evil exists. Even though we always picture monster and demons as the representation of evil, humans can also be evil, and we can be even worse. Human beings have a certain ability to hurt other people psychologically, and it can be even more painful than hurting someone physically. We tend to make people feel less, excluded and small, so we can have an advantage over them. This is the same exact methodology for monsters and demons, the only difference is that they do it physically. Movies, theatre, books and comic have always presented evil as gigantic and dreadful creatures, that always try to make humans, demigods, or even gods to feel small and impotent. But that is the thing about evil, it is always beaten by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It presents an awful creature named Grendel, which is obviously the representation of evil. Beowulf and Grendel have a duel, and at the end Beowulf win, because good always triumphs. In a film, I would portray Grendel as a giant vampire, that has claws and horns. In that way Grendel would be able to slaughter all the men he wants. This is a great story to represent the epic in it, and the global controversy that has always been here, good vs. bad. At the end of the day, there will always be a good side and a bad side in every situation, story, movie, or even lifestyle. You are able to choose whatever you want, but make sure you make a good ... • 45. Martha Irvine s Bros Before Hos Martha Irvine, a graduate of the University of Michigan published an article titled Queer Evolution which talked about how the word Queer itself has evolved into the mainstream. Originally the word s definition was to describe something as odd or weird. Society utilized the word Queer as an insult to the LGBTQ community. As more sexual orientations are being discovered, Queer became a more accepted word in the gay community in order to make things simpler. Irvine s essay showed that whatever word we use, can affect a person depending on the intention, and the tone of how it s being said. Irvine s essay is very similar to Deborah Tannen s essay You re Wearing That which talks about the relationship between mother and daughter and how words have established expectations for women based on their appearance and behavior. Another essay that well connects with Tannen and Irvine s articles is a section from a book written by Michael Kimmel titled Bros Before Hos : The Guy Code. Kimmel talks about The Guy Code , rules that a man should always follow in order to be considered a real man. Words are the reason why these standards have been established for all genders and sexualities. The relationships between parents and children would be better if words were replaced, which would abolish the expectations that society has for men and women. Many decades ago, The LGBTQ community were seen as the worst of society, they were labeled as the lowest of the low, something nobody ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For the last several decades the federal government has waged its infamous War on Drugs, a war on it s own citizens which covers all manner of psychoactive substances that have been deemed illegal. Strikingly, thousands upon thousands of citizens have been incarcerated for crimes associated with the production, distribution, and the consumption of marijuana. Marijuana is a plant that has been cultivated for thousands of years for both its psychoactive effects and its industrial applications. The founding fathers of the United States were among those who cultivated marijuana. Grassroots efforts are defined by the text We the People: An ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As these numbers increase the question of legalization in general across the states has become an interesting and pressing issue. Multiple stances on both the pro and con side of the issue exist. Supporting arguments often use studies to back up their claims. In an October 15, 2014 article in The Washington Post, Christopher Ingraham writes of the non negative aftereffects of the decriminalization of marijuana. In particular he reviews a report from the Center on Juvenile and Criminal Justice, which studied California, where full decriminalization began at the start of 2011. Of interest the report states marijuana decriminalization in California has not resulted in harmful consequences for teenagers, such as increased crime, drug overdose, driving under the influence, or school dropout. (Ingraham). Make no mistake, Ingraham is quick to point out that correlation is not causality. He does however note The sky hasn t fallen. (Ingraham). The naysayers who predicted that California s youth would fall into aimless lifestyles were incorrect. In addition to studies, other arguments cite documentaries. In his article released today, 20 April 2015, Zachary Wener Fligner writing for Quartz reviews the CNN documentary Weed 3: The Marijuana Revolution . In it Dr. Sanjay Gupta interviews President Obama, and Gupta asks the President if he supported the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
