The document discusses the Department of the Interior and Local Government's (DILG) mandate of general supervision over local governments in the Philippines. It outlines the different levels of local governments, from provinces down to barangays. The DILG's mandate involves overseeing local government performance, providing capacity development support, and ensuring accountability, transparency and community empowerment. It proposes a framework for diagnosing local government performance using various indicators and incentives to promote better results. The presentation emphasizes that general supervision must respect the levels of authority between different tiers of local administration.
This presentation aims to orient accredited Civil Service Organizations about the Local Special Bodies of a local government unit. This also outlines the indicative major scheduling that CSOs can refer to if they are interested in applying for accreditation in an LGU.

What do we learn from an Environmental Engineer?LDK
“[Engineering] allows you to think and be creative … We get to solve problems and [tackle] projects that seem impossible at first, but when they are completed, it's so cool.”
Analysis of the draft Local Economic Profile of the Metro Naga Development Council (MNDC), covering Naga City and 13 municipalities in Camarines Sur. The presentation focuses on validating MNDC's initial assumptions about tourism as a strategy for local economic development in the area. The presentation was made by Ms. Alaine Fornoles and Mr. Renato Fornoles based on the draft LEP that they prepared for MNDC, through the assistance of the Local Governance Support Program for Local Economic Development (LED). The presentation was done to validate MNDC's choice of industry to focus on for LED. Also to provide the starting point for a more detailed analysis of this focus industry.

Generating a custom Ruby SDK for your web service or Rails API using Smithyg2nightmarescribd
Have you ever wanted a Ruby client API to communicate with your web service? Smithy is a protocol-agnostic language for defining services and SDKs. Smithy Ruby is an implementation of Smithy that generates a Ruby SDK using a Smithy model. In this talk, we will explore Smithy and Smithy Ruby to learn how to generate custom feature-rich SDKs that can communicate with any web service, such as a Rails JSON API.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.
