The study was carried out using the UAV for analyzing the characteristics of debris in order to present the methodology to estimate the quantitative amount of debris caught in small river facilities. A total of six small rivers that maintained the form of a natural river were selected for collecting UAV images, and the grouping of each target in the image was carried out using the object-based classification method, and based on the object-based classification result of the UAV images, the land cover classification for the status of factors causing the generation of debris for six target sections was carried out by applying the screen digitizing method. In addition, in order to verify the accuracy of the classification result, the error matrix was performed, securing the reliability of the result. The accuracy analysis result showed that for all six target sections, the overall accuracy was 93.95% and the Kappa coefficient was 0.93, showing an excellent result.

The recent increase in the availability of spaceborne radar in different wavelengths with multiple polarisations provides new opportunities for land surface analysis. This research effort explored how different radar data, and derived texture values, indepen- dently and in combination with optical imagery influence land cover/use classification accuracies for a study site in Washington, DC, USA. Two spaceborne radar images, Radarsat-2L-band and Palsar C-band quad-polarised radar, were registered with Aster optical data for this study. Traditional methods of classification were applied to various components and combinations of this data set, and overall and class-specific thematic accuracies obtained for comparison. The results for the two despeckled radar data sets were quite different, with Radarsat-2 obtaining an overall accuracy of 59% and Palsar 77%, while that of the optical Aster was 90%. Combining the original radar and a variance texture measure increased the accuracy of Radarsat-2 to 71% but that of Palsar only to 78%. One of the sensor fusions of optical and radar obtained an accuracy of 93%. For this location, radar by itself does not obtain classification accuracies as high as optical data, but fusion with optical imagery provides better overall thematic accuracy than the optical independently, and results in some useful improvements on a class-by-class basis. For those regions with high cloud cover, quad polarisation radar can independently provide viable results but it may be wavelength-dependent.

The scour modelling in cohesive beds is relatively more complex than that in sandy beds and
thus there is limited number of studies available on local scour at bridge abutments on cohesive
sediment. Recently, a good progress has been made in the development of data-driven techniques
based on artificial intelligence (AI). It has been reported that AI-based inductive modelling
techniques are frequently used to model complex process due to their powerful and non-linear model
structures and their increased capabilities to capture the cause and effect relationship of such
complex processes. Gene Expression Programming (GEP) is one of the AI techniques that have
emerged as a powerful tool in modelling complex phenomenon into simpler chromosomal
architecture. This technique has been proved to be more accurate and much simpler than other AI
tools. In the present study, an attempt has been made to implement GEP for the development of
scour depth prediction model at bridge abutments in cohesive sediments using laboratory data
available in literature. The present study reveals that the performance of GEP is better than nonlinear
regression model for the prediction of scour depth at abutments in cohesive beds.
In recent years, numerous studies have shown a growing concern about the effects of climate change on the hydrological cycle and hydrological extremes. In particular, statistical analyses on either long hydrological series or modelled data show conflicting trends in different areas of Europe. In addition, the absence of continuous observations and the significant alterations experienced by some watersheds makes difficult to quantify the effects of climate change. These critical issues are particularly felt in Southern Italy where hydrometric monitoring is often discontinuous, updated flow rating curves rarely exist, and territories underwent significant anthropogenic transformations. The present work aims to update flood time-series in Southern Italy, using direct and indirect measurements, over the period 1920-2021. The numerous missing data were reconstructed by means of specially defined flood rating curve or by using daily flow rates to derive equivalent flood flows through the empirical function by Fuller. The obtained series were, then, analysed using the nonparametric Mann-Kendall test in order to detect possible trends. The results of the present study provide preliminary indications of flood trends over the last 50 years in Southern Italy by integrating an information gap regarding this phenomenon and its dynamics.

The objective of this work is to contribute to valorization de Nephelium lappaceum by the characterization of kinetics of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum. The seeds were dehydrated until a constant mass respectively in a drying oven and a microwawe oven. The temperatures and the powers of drying are respectively: 50, 60 and 70°C and 140, 280 and 420 W. The results show that the curves of drying of seeds of Nephelium lappaceum do not present a phase of constant kinetics. The coefficients of diffusion vary between 2.09.10-8 to 2.98. 10-8m-2/s in the interval of 50°C at 70°C and between 4.83×10-07 at 9.04×10-07 m-8/s for the powers going of 140 W with 420 W the relation between Arrhenius and a value of energy of activation of 16.49 kJ. mol-1 expressed the effect of the temperature on effective diffusivity.

Diabetes is a rapidly and serious health problem in Pakistan. This chronic condition is associated with serious long-term complications, including higher risk of heart disease and stroke. Aggressive treatment of hypertension and hyperlipideamia can result in a substantial reduction in cardiovascular events in patients with diabetes 1. Consequently pharmacist-led diabetes cardiovascular risk (DCVR) clinics have been established in both primary and secondary care sites in NHS Lothian during the past five years. An audit of the pharmaceutical care delivery at the clinics was conducted in order to evaluate practice and to standardize the pharmacists’ documentation of outcomes. Pharmaceutical care issues (PCI) and patient details were collected both prospectively and retrospectively from three DCVR clinics. The PCI`s were categorized according to a triangularised system consisting of multiple categories. These were ‘checks’, ‘changes’ (‘change in drug therapy process’ and ‘change in drug therapy’), ‘drug therapy problems’ and ‘quality assurance descriptors’ (‘timer perspective’ and ‘degree of change’). A verified medication assessment tool (MAT) for patients with chronic cardiovascular disease was applied to the patients from one of the clinics. The tool was used to quantify PCI`s and pharmacist actions that were centered on implementing or enforcing clinical guideline standards. A database was developed to be used as an assessment tool and to standardize the documentation of achievement of outcomes. Feedback on the audit of the pharmaceutical care delivery and the database was received from the DCVR clinic pharmacist at a focus group meeting.
