4. Without a Place to Call Home
The animals heard,
That thunderous sound again,
Of the bulldozers,
Coming closer,
Turning the thick jungle,
Into thin shrubs,
And they know,
They have to move again,
And look for new shelters.
The snakes slither away,
The elephants thump their feet,
The lions roar powerlessly,
The parrots squeak helplessly,
Even the snails sigh weakly.
It’s not fair,
They are tired, hungry and thirsty,
And without a place to call their homes.
