Who Was To Blame The Titanic Essay
In the year 1912 a ship named Titanic set out on her first voyage, but she never made it back. The
word was that this ship was unsinkable but that was proven wrong when she capsized along an
iceberg. The ship had many people aboard; some like Ruth Elizabeth Becker survived while
others died trapped in the water. Thousands of individuals believe that the Titanic sank due to the
large iceberg that it hit, but that s not the major factor in why so many lives were lost that day.
There were many contributors (most of them being human selfishness and faults). The ship had
many indications of failure before even hitting the ice. They were warned multiple times by
neighboring ships of possible danger, passengers reacted terribly in the chaos taking the every
man for themselves approach, pride, the lower class were not seen as equals and therefore not
prioritized, and the #1 cause made by crew and passengers alike is ignorance. The crew had been
warned about the icebergs in their path but would not slow down for the sake of an image. The
ship was barely filled with water when the people had been first notified of the hit, hundreds could
be saved with such a fast notice but instead they locked a whole class of people in with the water
too die. At one point... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of these events could have been avoided if just one person on the ship would have just
stopped and told the caption that going forward in such conditions may mean they never make it
back. All in all, the Titanic was a true show of humanity s general disregard for anything but their
own livelihood and image when in a disaster. Yes, there were passengers who sacrificed their lives
for others and crew members who most likely felt uneasy after hearing the warnings from the
intercom; but there was also 1,503 lives lost that could ve been

The Lottery Book Comparison
The Lottery by Shirley Jackson is a short fictional story that was published in 1948 and was in the
magazine The New Yorker. The setting of the story is a small nice little village with green grass
and flowers everywhere. The village was a farming village that mostly supported agriculture. The
main characters are Joe Summers, Mr. Graves, and the Hutchison family. The conflict of the story
was man versus tradition of the lottery. The lottery had little slips of paper that Mr. Summers and
Mr. Graves made and one that had a black dot on it. The winner is the person with the black dot.
The winner has his family draw again to see who is the real winner . When drawing, the heads of
the households get to draw for the family and can t look at the slips until everyone is done
drawing. Most villages are giving it up. The oldest man in village says, lottery in June, corn be
heavy soon , as that after the lottery is done crops grow better. When it was done Hutchinson got
the lucky card and his wife Tessie was making a big deal about it, it wasn t fair she said and, they
should redo the lottery, she thought. Bill Hutchison tells Tessie to shut up and Mr. Graves starts
setting up for the last round. Graves took the black dot piece of... Show more content on

The first major similarity is when the movie producers stuck to the main point of the story about
the sacrifice. The point of the lottery was the sacrifice for crops. This similarity make the movie
more like the story. Another similarity , the people were the same and the way the lottery was
done was the same. The movie producers used the same people and the black box and stool. The
third similarity is that the dialogue was mostly the same. Tessie after they won the lottery she went
out and started protesting about that it wasn t fair. Also, old man Warner thought people giving up
the lottery are crazy. To sum up, the similarities made the movie more like

blood pressure is determined by two factors: [1] cardiac output [2] total vascular resistance.
Cardiac output is the amount of blood pumped from the heart,
Q=H.R.*S.V.[stroke volume] total vascular resistance is the sum of resistance to blood flow
provided by all blood vessels . acute (shortterm) regulation of blood pressure is controlled by the
sympathetic nervous system. long term regulation of blood pressure is primarily a function of the
kidneys The kidneys controlling blood volume. Baroreceptors [pressure receptor] in the carotid
artery and the aorta are sensitive to changes in blood pressure, increase in pressure prepare
receptors to send impulses to the cardiovascular control centerand centers respond by decreasing
sympathetic activity A reduction in sympathetic activity may lower cardiac output and lower
vascular resistance, which lowers blood pressure in contrast, a decrease in blood pressure results in
a reduction of baroreceptor activity to the brain. This causes the cardiovascular control center to
respond by increasing sympathetic outflow, which increase blood pressure back to

Bad Budget Cuts Essay
Bad Budget Cuts
The budget cuts being put into effect soon are all wrong. The government should not be putting the
cuts on the military the cuts should be on something else. The military needs that money for a
number of things. The government is coming up with the plan to cut the military s money, cut a
large sum of soldiers, make it to where the country will not be able to be protected, and puts
thousands of soldiers in trouble because of increases in healthcare and decreases in pay. A plan to
cut the military budget has been made and will most likely be put into effect soon. A debt in the
United States has been increasing for years so the government thinks the best way to get it to come
down some is to make cuts and use the money ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The military needs this money to maintain order, equipment, and keep soldiers in the fight.
Soldiers will be pulled out of the military because of this cut. They plan to shrink the military
down to levels it has not seen in seventy four years (Hicks 1). The soldiers being cut though are
the active duty soldiers. These are the people who are serving right now and they are being
forced out of the military and all they get is their last pay check and go back to civilian life.
They plan to cut the army from 570,000 soldiers to 490,000 420,000 soldiers by 2019 (V,
EnBrook, and Locker 1). This is not a suitable amount of soldiers to protect the United States.
There is a high chance of war because of what is happening in Ukraine at the moment and the
government is deciding to cut the military s budget. Army leaders said the service could not
adequately protect the country and fight abroad at the 420,000 soldier level (V, EnBrook, and
Locker 1). The army can barely live with 450,000 soldiers, said Maren Leed (V, EnBrook, and
Locker 2). History has showed the United States has been in substantial conflicts every twenty
years (V, EnBrook, and Locker 2). Some soldiers have a hard enough time as it is the pay checks
for the military are not big unless you are in a Sargent position or in a general s position. The
soldiers being cut will have an even harder time with all the jobs being taken up. Generals are also

Age Discrimination In Employment Act (ADEA)
I m responding to question 1 about the displacement of the 52 year old male manager. In this
case, the employer might have violated the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA),
which protects against age based discrimination on employees aged 40 and above. ADEA applies
if the company has more than 20 employees and the business activities affect interstate commerce.
However, to prove that the employer has indeed violated ADEA, the employee must show that age
was the sole reason for his layoff. This could prove difficult in court though, because under ADEA,
the plaintiff bears the burden of proof. If his supervisor made no open comments about him being
too old, it could be very difficult to prove that the decision to terminate him was based

Reaction Paper For Dengue
Mosquitoes can transmit a bigger number of illnesses than other variants of arthropods and have
an impact on a large number of human population all throughout the world. WHO has declared that
mosquitoes are the public enemy number one (Geneva, 1996). Dengue is a mosquito transmitted
disease created by the virus itself. It is transmitted by many types of mosquitoes on the Aedes
genus, essentially Aedes Aegypti. The Department of Health (DOH) said, the quantity of dengue
cases in the Philippines is nearly 100,000. There is still no vaccine against dengue, however it is
prescribed to give adequate amounts of water to rehydrate the patient. The National Dengue
Prevention and Control Program was initially started by the Department of Health (DOH) in 1993.
Central Visayas and the National Capital Region served as the pilot destinations. It was not until
1998 when the project was executed across the country. The target populations of the system are the
overall public, the LGUs, and the local health workers (Lee Suy, n.d.).

organochlorine and organophosphate mixes. In any case, this has not been extremely fruitful
because of varying factors. Recently, utilization of a large portion of the previous engineered

insecticides, high cost of synthetic insecticides, dealing towards ecological manageability,
destructive impact on human health, and other non target populations, higher rate of organic

The Pros And Cons Of Chinese Gaokao
Today I am going to talk about the Chinese Gaokao which is making lots of student stress in
china. I am going to talk about both side of the argument which is is Chinese Gaokao too stress
for student studying in china. Chinese Gaokao is an exam which last for two days. It is one of
the toughest exam being sat in China in which the student have to get high mark to get enrolled
into a good university. For those student who fail the exam they have the option of resit the
exam, opt out of the exam for employment opportunity or sitting alternative exam system like
the SAT. The experience is very painful for student who sits gaokao for the very first time.
Student prepare 12 years for these two of their most important date in their life (7th of June 9th
June). Most of the student would be relieved when they walked out of that exam room by the end
of each days. You don t have a choice of what subject to choose. Math, English and Chinese are the
three compulsory Gaokao subject you have to take and you can choose one additional science
subject of your choice. Students in the last year at high schoolrevise 17 hour each day to tackle the

I liked the composition of this photo. It was taken from underneath, looking down the length of the
pier. What I loved about this photo is that the pillars closest to the lens are much distorted and the
Pacific Ocean has soothing yet eerie radium like glow to it. It s a very strange photograph and I
absolutely loved it. The second photo was titled The Coffee Shop. Photo is a black and white print
taken in Italy 2010. It is of a group of men (I think) and they appear to be walking in the middle of
a road or alley away from the camera. What really liked about this photo is the graininess of it and
the contrast of the snow covered street and the dark clothing that the men are wearing. What I
loved about this photo is that I could feel the bone chilling cold, like I was actually there.
The last photo was another black and white print. This photo was titled Canals and was taken in
Amsterdam 2010. This photo seems to be taken from a bridge crossing over the canal or maybe
from some sort of vessel on the canal. I m just taking guesses; I am not familiar with Amsterdam. I
liked this photo because I can see all the way down this canal and there is so much detail in both

Rosencrantz Exile
When one is exiled from home, it is a terrifying, lonely experience. When two are exiled from home,
it becomes something much greater. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern do not have a specific place
they call home in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. If they did, they probably would not
remember it. Their home is their experience with and understanding of the world around them. Yet,
they are exiled from this home. They are never fully able to understand the world around them and
have to face the consequences of this. Exile is an enriching experience for them, helping them learn
more about the world. On the other hand, exile is alienating, and it takes away their ability to
distinguish reality and their sense of control. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern repeatedly experience
one truth: those that have not experienced exile cannot truly understand its consequences. In the
first scene of the play, the audience experiences how enriching exile can be. Rosencrantz and

they play at questions, losing points if they make a statement or ask a rhetorical question. Their

discover more of the truth by this game of questions. Had they been in better communication with
Claudius, Gertrude, and the rest of the castle, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern would not have needed

affair. In this situation, their exile brings them

formation of a League of Nations, and general amnesty towards Germany, as the solution for peace.
However, his unwillingness to compromise led to widespread disagreement. The opposition forces

H). These views all show the tremendous possibility the Treaty of Versailles had for ratification
if only President Wilson agreed to compromise. Finally, the irreconcilables were completely
closed to the possibility of a League of Nations, as seen in William Borah s speech in 1918,
which harshly criticizes and mocks the league with hypocritical antitheses like force to destroy
force, conflict to prevent conflict, militarism to destroy militarism, war to prevent war (Doc. A).
The irreconcilable s point of view is also illustrated by an image from the Tribune Media
Services, which shows the U.S. Senate suddenly objecting to the marriage of the U.S. to foreign
entanglement by the League of Nations on the basis of constitutional rights (Doc. E). According
to the senate, the U.S. would be losing the right to go to war along with collective security if they
joined the League of Nations. The position of European nations, specifically France and Britain,
was of hostility towards Germany for the mass casualties, causing an unwillingness to pardon them
from the guilt clause. The Treaty of Versailles had a great chance of being ratified if only
President Wilson would have been able to make small amendments. The reservationists had a strong
argument about the pros of a League of Nations, but they disagreed with Article 10, which gave the

Similarities Between George Orwell And The Truman Show
The two different stories, Animal farm made by George Orwell and The Truman Show directed
by Peter Weir both have their own ideas about power and control and how it can destroy lives,
the good life and how a good life comes at a cost and a utopian society, a perfect society that is
most likely impossible. the following are a bunch of examples from each of the two different
stories summarizing the events and ideas that are present within the the two stories. The following
will bring forth the ideas of power and control, the good life and a utopian society.
firstly within the animal farm and the Truman show it is important to realize how the two different
texts show the use of power and its relation with a good life and a good society. within both texts
power is used to control others but in totally different ways, within the Truman show power is
used only to keep Truman in the dome but it is not used to keep him controlled this is shown
because Truman does have his own will within the dome. however the power displayed in the
animal farm is used in a totally different way, the power displayed within animal farm is shown
controlling all of the animals in every way no animal except for the pigs have their own free will.
the different perspectives on power from the two texts is quite interesting because in the Truman
show it is shown that power is only used to keep Truman in the dome but not to control his every
move, however in animal farm power is used to control everything

The Pros And Cons Of Slavery
Lincoln believed that slavery was ethically wrong, however there was one major issue: It was
endorsed by the most noteworthy law in the land, the Constitution. The country s establishing
fathers, who likewise battled with how to address subjugation, did not expressly compose servitude
in the Constitution, yet they included key conditions ensuring the organization, including a
criminal slave proviso and the three fifths proviso, which enabled Southern states to tally slaves for
the reasons for portrayal in the government. In a three hour discourse in Peoria, Illinois, in the fall
of 1854, Lincoln introduced more obviously than any time in recent memory his good, lawful and
monetary restriction to subjugation and after that conceded he didn t know precisely what ought to
be done about it inside the current political framework. Abolitionists, by differentiate, knew
precisely what ought to be done about it: Slavery ought to be quickly annulled, and liberated slaves
ought to be fused as equivalent individuals from society. They couldn t have cared less about
working inside the current political framework, or under the Constitution, which they saw as
treacherously ensuring bondage and slave proprietors. Driving abolitionist William Lloyd Garrison
called the Constitution a pledge with death and a concurrence with Hell, and went so far as to
consume a duplicate at a Massachusetts rally in 1854. In spite of the fact that Lincoln considered
himself to be working nearby the abolitionists in the interest of a typical abolitionist subjugation
cause, he didn t consider himself as a part of them. Just with liberation, and with his help of the
inevitable thirteenth Amendment, would Lincoln at last prevail upon the most dedicated
abolitionists. Despite the fact that Lincoln contended that the establishing fathers expression All
men are made equivalent connected to blacks and whites alike, this did not mean he figured they
ought to have a similar social and political rights. His perspectives turned out to be clear amid a
1858 arrangement of verbal confrontations with his rival in the Illinois race for U.S. Senate,
Stephen Douglas, who had blamed him for supporting negro equity. In their fourth verbal

Tail colour in Guppies
What selection pressures effect the spot brightness in guppies?
In the wild Poecilia reticulata (aka Guppies) are a highly adaptable fish that are able to survive a
range of different ecological conditions so can therefore inhibit many environments all around the
world. Guppies display sexual dimorphism which is a phenotypic differentiation
Males of this species have been known to display a variety of colours and patterns in order to
attract mates. However the extravagance of their colours can be determined on the selection
pressures of their environment.
Considering Poecilia reticulata has a relatively short life span, typically around 2 years and are
good examples for displaying natural selection through the generations. ... Show more content on

For this simulation instead of adding predators they were removed which lead to a significant
increase in brightness throughout the generations with an average of 16.50В±1.69. This further
supports the theory that the presents of predators are a dominant factor when determining male
brightness.
The second prediction deals with sexual selection, a form of natural selection that occurs when
certain characteristic (such as colour or sound) in an individual have a higher chance of
obtaining mates. To test this prediction, 15 females were added to Tank 1 a predator free tank,
along with 15 dull males, all of which had a spot brightness 7.0 or lower. The simulation ran for
approximately 800 days and afterwards 15 males were caught at random and their spot brightness
recorded.
At the beginning of the simulation the average spot brightness was 6.35В±0.97 and at the end of
the simulation there was a brightness average of 18.53В±1.26. There was a significant increase
which supports the idea that there is a higher chance that in a predator free environment, female
guppies prefer to mate with males that have brighter

William Bridge s three step change model deals with change at a more granular, individual level,
suggesting that change within a health care organization means that individuals must transition
from one identity to a new identity when they are involved in a process of change (Campbell, 2008,
p. 23). According to Bridge, for change to take place, three transition periods must be experienced,
including endings, the neutral zone, and beginnings (Campbell, 2008). This model is appropriate
for the current changes made in our facility because it focuses on individuals and their ability to
transition to change. Change is something that happens to people, even if they do not agree with it.
Transition, on the other hand, is internal, it s what happens in people s minds as they go through
change. Change can happen very quickly while transition usually occurs more slowly (Mind Tools
Editorial Team, n.d, p. 1). Changes made in the workplace require transitioning for employees, this
is why I feel it is important that administrators and committee members utilize this model as our
organization continues to adjust to the advancements in technology. Yes, I do feel that our

What Is The Value Of The Motion Picture Industry
It is no surprise to know that there has been an increase in interest towards the motion picture
industry. Largely because the motion picture industry has become a significant source of revenue in
many countries. Thousands of movies are made each year, and they total to billions of dollars in
revenue. For example, in 2006, more than 3,000 movies were in theaters totaling to $23.8 billion in
revenue. Motion pictures are also instrumental in shaping worldwide impressions of a country s
intellectual, historical, and cultural environment. In this paper, my objective is to address certain
issues pertaining to the motion picture industry, specifically its value chain, the competitive
landscape, the notion of net profit, cost allocation considerations, and the key elements to consider
when conducting a cost variance analysis. The value chain of the motion picture industry consists
of three stages production, distribution, and exhibition then it finally arrives for the consumption,
where the audiences can see the final product. As the saying goes it takes a village in each of these
stages to get the motion picture to consumers, but it is no easy task to make a motion picture. There
are four phases involved before, during, and after the production stage: development, pre
production, production, and post production. In the development phase, the producer acquires
intellectual property. There is no particular order in which this is done, but the producer needs to
purchase the rights to make the film, acquire a screenwriter, and obtain initial financing. This is
easier for major studios, because hiring well known screenwriters, actors and actresses, as well as
the director, makes it easier to obtain financing. Independent studios, on the other hand, have a
limited budgeted and are only able to show a preview for major or subsidiary studios.
Then the studio decision makers determine whether the film will be successful and compare it to
other films. They also develop a scenario analysis of potential box office revenues and determine if
they should move forward with the film. Films are only given the green light once the executives
are satisfied with the predicted probability, and once they secure financing.

Effective Questioning Is Essential For Teachers For...
Effective questioning is essential for teachers to enable effective learning within the classroom
(Dillon and Dillon 1998). It helps teachers gain an insight of what children are thinking also
allowing them to analyse the quality of the children s answers (Perrot 1996). In the medium term
plan a range of questioning is used including closed and open ended questions. Open ended
questions allow children to give a more cognitive answer(Redfield and Rousseau 1981) as they
encourage thinking skills (Cockburn and Handscomb 2011) meaning teachers can gain a wider
range of answers from the children. This allows them to gain a deeper understanding of children s
individual knowledge (De Boo 2004) as well as helping assess children s progress from the question
types (Tizard and Huges 1984). Linking open ended questions to the National Curriculum is an
effective way to use questioning to assess children checking that they are meeting the guidelines
and are able to progress (Hudson 2013). Closed questions on the other hand allow children to
give simple answers that are either right or wrong (Barnes et al 1986; Dillon and Dillon 1998). It
has been found that a lot of teachers use closed questions because of the simplicity of the answers
children can give (Bloom 1956), but Barnes et at (1986) argues that they can cause more anxiety
and loss of self confidence in children as they feel pressured to give the correct answer. In the
medium term plan any closed questions are closely followed

An occasional shower seems to wash away more than the dirt and grim they come through the door
with. It appears to momentarily restore some level of dignity, even if it is a temporary solution to a
long term problem. For clients who desire more than the occasional shower, meal, and a place to
escape the elements of the weather for a few hours, there are case managers who devote their
time to assisting clients to a pathway of self reliance. Insightfully, I observed that very few of the
clients that are served at the Beacon appear to have the life skills to advance through Maslow s
Hierarchy of Needs, and I recall an appreciated statement Barbara Ehrenreich made in her book,
Nickel and Dimed, when she said ...I can t help thinking of them on account of the mysterious
vulnerability that seems to have left them temporarily unable to feed themselves ; Though, for
many at The Beacon it isn t temporary (Ehrenreich, 2001, p18). The case managers at The Beacon
are a life line to those desiring stability within their life, as they navigate their clients through a
system of unfamiliarity that is often full of red tape and hurdles. They make referrals and assist
with the application process to gain access to medical, legal, housing, counseling, and employment
needs, just to name a few. On average 80 clients meet daily with a case manager, and without the
guidance of the case managers many of Houston s homeless

Hitler was not very powerful back then before he joined the German army. This made him very
popular. So people he met from the German army wanted him to join and take over as chancellor
of Germany. When he got what he wanted he was showing this leadership to Germany with the
help of the Nazi clan.
Exercise of power
Hitler s source of power was being the chancellor of Germany and the leader of the Nazi part.
Hitler went through a lot of things before he got to these positions. He has to prove that he was
doing all the good stuff for the Germany and the whole world but he actually wasn t. He wanted
to be the strongest person in the world so he got people from other country s to help him out but

Symbolism In The Red Masque
Some people may think that status or wealth, automatically means that they are exempt from the
bad things in life such as illness or deadly diseases. A group of wealthy people think that they can
escape death by locking themselves away from the world, but they will discover they are mistaken.
In the story The Red Masque by Edgar Allan Poea terrible contagion is spreading across the
world. Price Prospero a wealthy lord, invites one thousand guests to lock themselves in his
castellated abbeys to escape the Red Death. The Prince orders the gates be welded shut allowing
no entrance or exit, thus not allowing the red death to come in and infect him or his guests. After
several months of being locked inside and so far, escaping the Red Death,... Show more content on

The Importance Of Too Cool For Kids In High School
Too Cool for School! Does Facebook Belong in the Classroom? I believe that kids in high school
or middle school can benefit from using social media. Kids in high school should definitely be
able to access social media and will benefit from it because it can help them fit in. If all the kids
in the school are active on social media, they support each other in friendship. It lets every kid be
a part of things. Social media can be a great way to connect with others, friends old and new.
Kids can even ask teachers questions. Another reason why social media is good for kids is that it
keeps them up to date on the news. Every time I go on Facebook, I see news events from around
the world. I also hear about things happening in my community. For example,

New Medi New Digital Age
Living in a new digital age, we are seeing more computerized devices like smartphone and
computers replacing old media technologies like newspaper, radio and television. Characteristics of
new media as being digital, computerized, interactive and hypersexual have shaped new forms of
communication. Meanwhile, the ability of new media to merge different forms of media
technologies, industries and services so called convergence has also created unprecedented
transformations in the society. In this paper, I argue that new media has contributed to all aspects
of the paradigmshift. As it is constantly remediating its predecessors, it shapes new modes of

Thus, new media is reproducing itself through different old technologies. Not only new media is
remediating its predecessors, it also shapes new modes of subjectivity. Subjectivity means the
process of being a subject; it refers to who we are to how we react to the world. The emergence
of new media has unprecedentedly change the subjectivity of different things. For example, we
are experiencing new forms of textual experiences and representations such as genre, form and
consumption. There are new forms of embodiment and identity that change how we perceive
ourselves and our bodies. Organization also changes the rules of ownership, control, regulation.
These subjectivities are all being reshaped due to the change of our relationship with
technologies. The example discussed in lecture is subjectivity related to selfies. Media
technologies has created selfies which are these self portraits taken by phones that gets uploaded
to social media. It is a convergence of technology, interaction and body. Selfies become a way to
call to the world about who we are and a commanding representation of self. Because the
immediacy, ubiquity and ephemerality of the social media, selfies have embodied these
characteristics and become instant, common and short lived. The characteristics of new media is
shaping the subjectivity of selfies. Moreover, devices functions are more determinative than
aesthetic conventions. Technologies offer people the power to edit selfies. People

Teaching Methods Essay
1.Discuss the reasons for selecting the teaching methods used.
In the micro teach session delivered to my peers at college as part of an Assessment, I chose to use
the following teaching methods: * Initial assessment * Brainstorming * Group work *
Differentiation * Constructivist teaching.
Science is a practical subject that requires an academic approach. The methods used are to promote
active learning strategies that engage the student.
As I already teach at KS4, I assumed that this particular group would already be at the level of
teaching and learning in my class, although I did consider initial assessment methods in my

One of the methods I used was to allow the students to share their knowledge with each other
through mind mapping and then through working together on a true /false questionnaire.
2.Critically discuss two of the teaching methods used and examine each one in terms of their
strengths and weaknesses.
The first method I would like to discuss is the constructivist approach an active way of building on
students knowledge, ensuring students use and apply the knowledge given. In my view this
method covers all the positive points for exploring a specific subject, by using the method of the
students building their own interpretations of the information given, as Petty explains: What does it
mean exactly to have a full grasp of a new topic, and to be able to use your learning successfully
even in new situations? (Petty 2004, p. 7), going on to explain the theory behind Bloom s
taxonomy, a hierarchy of learning and putting the attributes to learning in order. In simple terms,
the knowledge a student requires at the beginning is rather basic; then comprehending the
knowledge means that a student has been able to move on by understanding and explaining.
Once a student has comprehension they (with the help of a teacher) can apply that comprehension.
For example, during the micro teach session once I had given an overview of the heart, students
were able to complete a questionnaire. I could see from the answers that they had gained

A Critical Analysis Of Reflection In The Poetry Analysis Unit
Throughout the poetry analysis unit, I learned lots of things about the poems. I learned how to
look at, analyze, and write a poem. My whole perception of poems changed, and I am really happy
about it. Before this unit, I used to attach importance to only the meaning of the poems; however,
right now, I can attach importance to more than one device in a poem, and use them in my own
poems.
We started this journey with writing only one stanza with three or four lines. I really liked these
poems because they were short and effective. I didn t make an effort on trying to understand
these poems, but they were really impressive for me. That was the reason why I included a short
poem into my portfolio. The one that I included was one of the first ones, and Ms. Popp told me to

To make a confession, I can truly say that I couldn t get used to use them easily because to
understand them, you should think about more than one symbolism in the poem, and create a
common meaning through them. It was hard for me at the beginning, but I got used to it now.
Moreover, I wrote about a paragraph of symbolism in my summative poetry analysis, which I think
I successfully did. I included one of the poems I wrote before to improve my usage of metaphors
to my portfolio, it is called Art of Realization . This is a poem that tells about a person, who
understands the magic of the books and sees the art behind them. I used the line I turned the thin
skin of the dead tree, which symbolizes the pages of the book. I asked one of my friends to read
my poem, and she said that she never thought the pages as thin skin of the dead tree . I really think
that this line is both understandable and impressive, that s why I chose this one. Symbolisms are
very important because they create different perspectives that expand the meaning of the poem.
That s why I like to use them in my

Araby Coming Of Age Examples
Coming of age stories are an important subset of English literature. Araby and The Ball Poem are
both examples of such pieces. They both depict disappointment or loss in the main characters lives,
as well as the recognition that a replacement is something less than the original. In addition to this,
they show the characters thoughts changing in tone after a moment of significance in the plot.
Araby in particular shows a change in the main character due to it being a short storyrather than a
poem, and having more time to develop the characterization.
In The Ball Poem, the child, the initial subject of the poem, loses his ball and watches it bounce
all the way down into the harbor, beyond recovery. After this, the speaker tells how the boy, senses

Often, the event of growing up is represented as a series of events and experiences, culminating
in the realization that one is a child no longer. However, some forms of literature, due to length
restrictions, are unable to show the process in full, and so will describe the initiating event,
which it is assumed will eventually lead to the subject maturing over time. One example of this
is the poem The Ball Poem, by John Berryman; do to its relatively short length, Berryman told of
the loss of the ball, which was a metaphor for innocence and childhood, and how the child would
now have to learn to deal with the loss and keep going. Araby, in comparison, is a longer text,
though still a short story, and as such is not constrained by the same length restrictions. The main
character s coming of age is, as such, shown over several events, although they are still in a very
short time span when compared to a full life of

IBCT Model (1 pg. Lizbette) IBCT is a couples therapy approach that helps couples facing highly
distressed situations (Briggs, Finley Sprenlete,2015). IBCT stems from Behavioral Couples
Therapy (BCT); however, due to a lack of outcomes that demonstrated successful long term effects
in couples, IBCT was created (Jacobson Christensen, 1996). As stated by Jacobson and
Christensen (1996) IBCT consists of elements of emotional acceptance and tolerance to address
issues that BCT was unable to do. This was done to add a sense of sympathy and compassion to
couplesexperiences and to find solutions to help couples with their problems. According to Briggs
et al. (2015) the steps in treating couples using IBCT involve creating a treatment plan, individual
and joint sessions which occur during the first four sessions of the therapeutic process. During the
assessment session couples are asked to remember and talk about what made them fall in love and
how they met in order to find and highlight strengths the couple holds (Mairal, 2015). After the
assessment and initial phase is conducted, then treatment can begin which consist of building
intimacy, helping couples move from their stuck phase and influencing change (Briggs et al., 2015).
There are several interventions used in IBCT. One of the most important interventions is emotional
acceptance. Emotional acceptance involves empathetic joining around the problem, increase
tolerance of an aversive problem and increase self care

offer the right merchandise for your boutique, but still be in your price range. Without those,
your boutique will be out of luck. Another crucial decision a small boutique might decide to

In the much older sense of the word, saint is used to describe Catholic martyrs in the early
centuries after the birth of Christ. (Pickert, par. 2). Since the poem was written at a much later
time, saintliness is used as a general term equating moral goodness , which was essentially what
saints were recognized for. This is the concept meant by modern sense (4). In the time of the
war, so long as men were compliant and functioning members of society, they were deemed
saints: mum and mild in nature. The eighth and tenth lines read He worked in a factory and
never got fired.../ Yet he wasn t a scab or odd in his views / For his Union reports that he paid his

well as support the system financially by paying debts. Albeit monotonous, this was the social
expectation that people were expected to follow, as if their individual lives existed only to fill in

distinguished the character of men in the extremes, either as being sadistically evil or a saint,
earning the title of saint simply by living unbothered lives. Because the war was violent,

Robin Hood Beliefs
Robin Hood was a man who loved life and sought adventure in every aspect of his life. Although,
he has a made some mistakes he typically tried to do good. He loved people, especially women
and children. I would not consider him a true follower of a Christ, but rather a man who does
good works. In Titus 3:5 it says, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according
to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit.
(New King James Version, Tit. 3.5) This verse is basically saying that you cannot get to heaven
through good works. Gods grace and mercy is what allows us to get into heaven, but we have to
make that choice.
The goal in life is to not just go to heaven, but to have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Robin was not very good at this, as we can see all the situations it got him in. A quick temper will
make a fool of you soon enough. ( Bruce Lee ) Robin s anger caused him to kill two people!
When one gets angry it can affect more than just you. It is not wrong to be angry, but it is wrong
to act upon our anger. In Ephesians 4:26 it says, Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go
down on your wrath. (Ephesians 4.26)This verse is a reminder to not act upon our anger, but also
not to hold onto it because it ends up hurting us more by holding onto it.
The final lesson I have learned from Robin Hood is to do things the right way. Often times the
right way ends up being the harder way, but it is always more rewarding. One of the main
reasons Robin had so many enemies is because the things he did were against the law and unjust
to certain people. In James 4:17 it says, Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do
it, to him it is sin. (James 4.17)This verse is saying that if one knows the right thing to do, but
does not do it, it is a sin. Doing the right thing can be very hard. If one remains faithful, God will

Relationship Between The Cold War And Global White Supremacy
The relationship between the Cold War and global white supremacy is clear from Borstelmann s
writing. He demonstrates how the improvement of race relations both domestic and foreign were a
necessity. If the U.S. did not fix how potential allies (specifically all post colonial countries) viewed
the U.S., communism was sure to spread. Although Latham does not identify raceas a reason for
modernization both Latham and Borstelmann show that Aligning with these posts countries was
necessary to prevent communism from becoming the primary economic system across the globe.
Although Americas primary agenda was to put a cease to the ascension of Communism during the
Cold War; results of such efforts lead to a decline in global white supremacy through empowering
local leaders, changing legislation, and an increase in economic opportunities for minorities.
Although modernization was not perfect there were many countries that benefited from U.S. help.
In fact countries such as India, Ghana, and Egypt embraced the help of the U.S. America s
assistance. With all three countries U.S. s support in empowering their economic growth was
successful. Although modernizations was to help these underdeveloped countries the primary gaol
of the U.S. is to decimate the prevalence of communism. American policy makers for foreign affairs
viewed many postcolonial leaders as politically immature and unprepared for self determination,
they exercised little restraint in trying to undermine governments

The Transition To Snowshoeing
If you prefer outdoor workouts, winter can be a difficult time of the year. By the time you get
home from work, it s dark outside and you must resign yourself to running or walking on slushy
streets. However, there is an alternative way to get a better workout away from roads and traffic.
If you have nearby parks, public lands, or trail systems that you normally hike in the warmer
months, you can also enjoy them in the winter with a pair of snowshoes and a headlamp. If you
live in an urban area, there s a good chance that it has a number of small cross country skicenters
open at night that also allow snowshoeing.
The transition to snowshoeing isn t that difficult since you already have the discipline to run or

However, the advantage of snowshoeing is that it s easier to learn. With snowshoes, you won t
have to learn how to control your speed on downhills as you would with skis. Hill climbing is
also more straight forward. In addition, snowshoes allow you to cover more varied terrain. This
is particularly true on hilly ground in the woods where closely packed trees don t allow for
effective use of skis. On the other hand, on trails or open ground with packed snow, you can cover
far greater distances with skis, and going down hills is fun.
Snowshoeing at Night Is an Experience in Its Own Right

other one was Strawberry. However, Beane had baseball and football scholarship from Stanford

The Sociological Approach
Culture helps sociologists make sense of each individual and the surrounding world. It is the
solution to everyday problems, it helps people meet, their past, and guides us to the future. The
macro level approaches are what help sociologist understand the culture and those approaches are
the structural functionalism, social conflict, feminist approach, and sociobiology approach.
Structural functionalism approach says that culture is formed to provide order in the society. In that
view, a country with multiple cultures is a good thing. It explains that cultural values direct our

Spastic Paraplegia Essay
Hereditary spastic paraplegias (HSPs) are genetically heterogeneous disorders, which are
characterized by lower extremity spasticity and weakness. HSP is often caused by mutations in
SPG genes, but it may be also produced by inborn errors of metabolism [1,2]. Next generation
sequencing (NGS) is helpful for investigating patients in whom geneticsdoes not fully meets the

The agency noted that the delays set off a number of quarrels between customers and low cost
carriers for failing to provide satisfactory explanations or solutions. At other times, the website
reported, the carriers didn t make staff available to answer questions.
The carriers were accused of being poor problem solvers, as they usually informed passengers of
the delays or cancellation at the last possible minute, and repeatedly changed flight times.
Many passengers complained to local media about a tendency for local airlines to only inform
passengers of cancellations a couple hours before the scheduled departure time or after they have
waited a couple hours at the airport.
When the carriers sent text messages to passengers about the delays, they did not apologize and
failed to provide an explanation or compensation for the inconvenience.
Worse still, many passengers at the airport were not provided with food while waiting for their
flights to be resumed.
Lack of proper punishments seems to be a problem in the country s aviation industry, which has
seen sharp increases in the rates of delays and cancellations recently.
Service failure

satisfaction (Smith Bolton, 1998). It has also been suggested that

Essay on Italy in World War II
Italy in World War II
World War II, which only lasted about five years, changed the course of history forever, and
affected millions of lives. Among the major nations that were involved in the war, Benito Mussolini
and his Italian army sought to settle their differences with many nations. Benito s fascist views, his
idea of a nation built by one race, and his relationship with Adolf Hitler ultimately led to his
involvement in the war. His responsibility, in essence, was to ally himself with the superpowers of
the world, and lead his people into a war that they could not fight.
Il Duce , (the leader), was the name that Benito Mussolini gave himself as his rise to power in Italy
continued. He led the people of Italy with the mind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He won over the people of Italy using the same techniques and imagery that Hitler used in his
homeland. The fascist ideas, and idea of an ultimate Italian empire, appealed to Mussolini, and he
would stop at nothing to gain power.
Along with the Fascist Party, came the idea of a perfect race of man, and persecution. Hitler s
idea of a non Jewish race appealed to Mussolini. Before the war began, Benito Mussolini and his
army started their persecution of the Jews in Italy. This did not last long, however, because
Mussolini s popularity began to fall. As his popularity among his people began to decline, so did
his relations with many European nations. Much of Italy s foreign relations depended solely on
treaties and pacts. (5) As Germany and Italy moved together towards a uniform society, the strength
and honor of the treaties were in jeopardy.
As the war broke out in Europe in 1940, Mussolini did his best to stay away from the fighting.
He preached to his people that his army was ready to fight in the war, and was prepared to
defend himself, and conquer land for his country. (6) Benito Mussolini s main objective in the
war was to gain land, and claim the land for Italy. His idea was to create the ultimate empire, and
rule over millions of people. As World War II approached, Mussolini announced his intention of
annexing Malta, Corsica, and Tunis. (7) His intentions increased as he captured Albania in April of
1939. His rise to the

Computer Tablet In China
One might believe that marketing strategies are interchangeable within countries throughout the
world; however, one must carefully consider the cultural and economic disparities between those
countries. Computer tablets vary in price, performance, available applications, and durability. For
example, what one might find inexpensive in the United States could be a month s salary in
another. The primary use of a computer tablet in Mexico is Facebook, while in Chinait is gaming.
Moreover, a significant influence in purchasing a computer tablet for Americans is performance,
while in China it is the price. Therefore, manufacturers should study, analyze, and implement

Advertising inundates people in virtually every society, whether it is television, print, radio, or the
Internet. These traditional marketing strategies lack authenticity and originality, creating skepticism
in their legitimacy. To avoid this, marketers should provide the resources necessary for Chinese
consumers to practice word of mouth marketing. This research concluded that it is the origin and
quality of the content found on the Internet that makes it legitimate. Utilizing today s modern
technology, nearly anyone can build an Internet community with little or no financial resources.
These platforms for communication can be physical or virtual, such as a storefront or an Internet
forum. Chinese social media platforms, such as Renren and Weibo, are very effective and
inexpensive strategies. People often refer to Renren as China s Facebook, as it is trendy, successful,
and free. Another effective community to practice WOM marketing is a company or product
forum. A forum offers product owners a place where they could openly express their concerns and
experiences with others, while potential customers could obtain product reviews from real people.
Online communities form bonds between members, which in turn develops a reliable resource
within the most utilized information search tool, the Internet.
According to Boston Consulting Group, half of Chinese Internet users say that the Internet

Romeo And Juliet Sacrifice
True love is worth the sacrifice of family and friends. From a young age, you are taught to love
your family and friends to the fullest extent so as to not lose them. Now, let s introduce a new
element, romantic love. This person is your world, life couldn t be the same without them. They re
the reason you carry on. This loveis much different than platonic love in which you share with a
family. This love makes you do crazy things. Perhaps it can be argued that platonic love is stronger
than every other kind there is. I stand by many others when I say that you cannot replace that true
love you feel with your soulmate, you can only try. Family, although it might rough, is

The only issue with the two being together is the the feuds among the households the two live
under. If they are to be together, it would be almost like betraying their families. In the following

my only hate! Too early seen unknown , and known too late! Prodigious birth of love it is to me
that I must love a loathed enemy, (Shakespeare, 396).
The internal conflict within Juliet is immediately obvious, yet she appears to be set on her love
for Romeo and betraying her family if it means walking alongside him. In act II of the play,
Romeo finds himself directly beneath Juliet as she confesses her love to him whilst being unaware
that she has made him her confidante. During this one sided conversation, it is made very clear
that Juliet wishes to spend the rest of her life with Romeo. Eventually, Romeo reveals that he had
been listening in on her outspoken thoughts. This leads to one proposing that they are married
tomorrow even with all the risks. ... If thy bent of love honorable, thy purpose marriage, send me
word tomorrow, (Shakespeare, 407). Just this proposal alone demonstrates that their love is strong
enough for them to leave their families behind and love each other for

  • 2. Who Was To Blame The Titanic Essay In the year 1912 a ship named Titanic set out on her first voyage, but she never made it back. The word was that this ship was unsinkable but that was proven wrong when she capsized along an iceberg. The ship had many people aboard; some like Ruth Elizabeth Becker survived while others died trapped in the water. Thousands of individuals believe that the Titanic sank due to the large iceberg that it hit, but that s not the major factor in why so many lives were lost that day. There were many contributors (most of them being human selfishness and faults). The ship had many indications of failure before even hitting the ice. They were warned multiple times by neighboring ships of possible danger, passengers reacted terribly in the chaos taking the every man for themselves approach, pride, the lower class were not seen as equals and therefore not prioritized, and the #1 cause made by crew and passengers alike is ignorance. The crew had been warned about the icebergs in their path but would not slow down for the sake of an image. The ship was barely filled with water when the people had been first notified of the hit, hundreds could be saved with such a fast notice but instead they locked a whole class of people in with the water too die. At one point... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... All of these events could have been avoided if just one person on the ship would have just stopped and told the caption that going forward in such conditions may mean they never make it back. All in all, the Titanic was a true show of humanity s general disregard for anything but their own livelihood and image when in a disaster. Yes, there were passengers who sacrificed their lives for others and crew members who most likely felt uneasy after hearing the warnings from the intercom; but there was also 1,503 lives lost that could ve been ... • 3. The Lottery Book Comparison The Lottery by Shirley Jackson is a short fictional story that was published in 1948 and was in the magazine The New Yorker. The setting of the story is a small nice little village with green grass and flowers everywhere. The village was a farming village that mostly supported agriculture. The main characters are Joe Summers, Mr. Graves, and the Hutchison family. The conflict of the story was man versus tradition of the lottery. The lottery had little slips of paper that Mr. Summers and Mr. Graves made and one that had a black dot on it. The winner is the person with the black dot. The winner has his family draw again to see who is the real winner . When drawing, the heads of the households get to draw for the family and can t look at the slips until everyone is done drawing. Most villages are giving it up. The oldest man in village says, lottery in June, corn be heavy soon , as that after the lottery is done crops grow better. When it was done Hutchinson got the lucky card and his wife Tessie was making a big deal about it, it wasn t fair she said and, they should redo the lottery, she thought. Bill Hutchison tells Tessie to shut up and Mr. Graves starts setting up for the last round. Graves took the black dot piece of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This similarity make the movie more like the story. Another similarity , the people were the same and the way the lottery was done was the same. The movie producers used the same people and the black box and stool. The third similarity is that the dialogue was mostly the same. Tessie after they won the lottery she went out and started protesting about that it wasn t fair. Also, old man Warner thought people giving up the lottery are crazy. • 5. Bad Budget Cuts Essay Bad Budget Cuts The budget cuts being put into effect soon are all wrong. The government should not be putting the cuts on the military the cuts should be on something else. The military needs that money for a number of things. The government is coming up with the plan to cut the military s money, cut a large sum of soldiers, make it to where the country will not be able to be protected, and puts thousands of soldiers in trouble because of increases in healthcare and decreases in pay. A plan to cut the military budget has been made and will most likely be put into effect soon. A debt in the United States has been increasing for years so the government thinks the best way to get it to come down some is to make cuts and use the money ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The military needs this money to maintain order, equipment, and keep soldiers in the fight. Soldiers will be pulled out of the military because of this cut. They plan to shrink the military down to levels it has not seen in seventy four years (Hicks 1). The soldiers being cut though are the active duty soldiers. These are the people who are serving right now and they are being forced out of the military and all they get is their last pay check and go back to civilian life. They plan to cut the army from 570,000 soldiers to 490,000 420,000 soldiers by 2019 (V, EnBrook, and Locker 1). This is not a suitable amount of soldiers to protect the United States. There is a high chance of war because of what is happening in Ukraine at the moment and the government is deciding to cut the military s budget. Army leaders said the service could not adequately protect the country and fight abroad at the 420,000 soldier level (V, EnBrook, and Locker 1). The army can barely live with 450,000 soldiers, said Maren Leed (V, EnBrook, and Locker 2). History has showed the United States has been in substantial conflicts every twenty years (V, EnBrook, and Locker 2). Some soldiers have a hard enough time as it is the pay checks for the military are not big unless you are in a Sargent position or in a general s position. • 6. Age Discrimination In Employment Act (ADEA) I m responding to question 1 about the displacement of the 52 year old male manager. In this case, the employer might have violated the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), which protects against age based discrimination on employees aged 40 and above. ADEA applies if the company has more than 20 employees and the business activities affect interstate commerce. However, to prove that the employer has indeed violated ADEA, the employee must show that age was the sole reason for his layoff. This could prove difficult in court though, because under ADEA, the plaintiff bears the burden of proof. If his supervisor made no open comments about him being too old, it could be very difficult to prove that the decision to terminate him was based ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Reaction Paper For Dengue Mosquitoes can transmit a bigger number of illnesses than other variants of arthropods and have an impact on a large number of human population all throughout the world. WHO has declared that mosquitoes are the public enemy number one (Geneva, 1996). Dengue is a mosquito transmitted disease created by the virus itself. It is transmitted by many types of mosquitoes on the Aedes genus, essentially Aedes Aegypti. The Department of Health (DOH) said, the quantity of dengue cases in the Philippines is nearly 100,000. There is still no vaccine against dengue, however it is prescribed to give adequate amounts of water to rehydrate the patient. The National Dengue Prevention and Control Program was initially started by the Department of Health (DOH) in 1993. Central Visayas and the National Capital Region served as the pilot destinations. It was not until 1998 when the project was executed across the country. The target populations of the system are the overall public, the LGUs, and the local health workers (Lee Suy, n.d.). It was taken from underneath, looking down the length of the pier. What I loved about this photo is that the pillars closest to the lens are much distorted and the Pacific Ocean has soothing yet eerie radium like glow to it. It s a very strange photograph and I absolutely loved it. The second photo was titled The Coffee Shop. Photo is a black and white print taken in Italy 2010. It is of a group of men (I think) and they appear to be walking in the middle of a road or alley away from the camera. What really liked about this photo is the graininess of it and the contrast of the snow covered street and the dark clothing that the men are wearing. What I loved about this photo is that I could feel the bone chilling cold, like I was actually there. The last photo was another black and white print. This photo was titled Canals and was taken in Amsterdam 2010. This photo seems to be taken from a bridge crossing over the canal or maybe from some sort of vessel on the canal. • 10. Rosencrantz Exile When one is exiled from home, it is a terrifying, lonely experience. When two are exiled from home, it becomes something much greater. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern do not have a specific place they call home in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead. If they did, they probably would not remember it. Their home is their experience with and understanding of the world around them. Yet, they are exiled from this home. They are never fully able to understand the world around them and have to face the consequences of this. Exile is an enriching experience for them, helping them learn more about the world. On the other hand, exile is alienating, and it takes away their ability to distinguish reality and their sense of control. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern repeatedly experience one truth: those that have not experienced exile cannot truly understand its consequences. Their exile from the world prepares them for their first interaction with Hamlet, during which they discover more of the truth by this game of questions. Essay about 1991 Apush Dbq 1991 DBQ In the aftermath of World War I, during the years 1917 1921, President Wilson advocated the Treaty of Versailles, which called for the principle of self determination, the formation of a League of Nations, and general amnesty towards Germany, as the solution for peace. However, his unwillingness to compromise led to widespread disagreement. The opposition forces in the U.S. senate consisted of the reservationists, who were willing to ratify the Treaty of Versailles with amendments, and the irreconcilables, who refused to join the League of Nationsunder any circumstances. H). These views all show the tremendous possibility the Treaty of Versailles had for ratification if only President Wilson agreed to compromise. Finally, the irreconcilables were completely closed to the possibility of a League of Nations, as seen in William Borah s speech in 1918, which harshly criticizes and mocks the league with hypocritical antitheses like force to destroy force, conflict to prevent conflict, militarism to destroy militarism, war to prevent war (Doc. A). The irreconcilable s point of view is also illustrated by an image from the Tribune Media Services, which shows the U.S. Senate suddenly objecting to the marriage of the U.S. to foreign entanglement by the League of Nations on the basis of constitutional rights (Doc. E). According to the senate, the U.S. would be losing the right to go to war along with collective security if they joined the League of Nations. The position of European nations, specifically France and Britain, was of hostility towards Germany for the mass casualties, causing an unwillingness to pardon them from the guilt clause. • 13. Similarities Between George Orwell And The Truman Show The two different stories, Animal farm made by George Orwell and The Truman Show directed by Peter Weir both have their own ideas about power and control and how it can destroy lives, the good life and how a good life comes at a cost and a utopian society, a perfect society that is most likely impossible. the following are a bunch of examples from each of the two different stories summarizing the events and ideas that are present within the the two stories. The following will bring forth the ideas of power and control, the good life and a utopian society. firstly within the animal farm and the Truman show it is important to realize how the two different texts show the use of power and its relation with a good life and a good society. within both texts power is used to control others but in totally different ways, within the Truman show power is used only to keep Truman in the dome but it is not used to keep him controlled this is shown because Truman does have his own will within the dome. however the power displayed in the animal farm is used in a totally different way, the power displayed within animal farm is shown controlling all of the animals in every way no animal except for the pigs have their own free will. the different perspectives on power from the two texts is quite interesting because in the Truman show it is shown that power is only used to keep Truman in the dome but not to control his every move, however in animal farm power is used to control everything ... Abolitionists, by differentiate, knew precisely what ought to be done about it: Slavery ought to be quickly annulled, and liberated slaves ought to be fused as equivalent individuals from society. They couldn t have cared less about working inside the current political framework, or under the Constitution, which they saw as treacherously ensuring bondage and slave proprietors. Driving abolitionist William Lloyd Garrison called the Constitution a pledge with death and a concurrence with Hell, and went so far as to consume a duplicate at a Massachusetts rally in 1854. Guppies display sexual dimorphism which is a phenotypic differentiation Males of this species have been known to display a variety of colours and patterns in order to attract mates. William Bridge s three step change model deals with change at a more granular, individual level, suggesting that change within a health care organization means that individuals must transition from one identity to a new identity when they are involved in a process of change (Campbell, 2008, p. 23). According to Bridge, for change to take place, three transition periods must be experienced, including endings, the neutral zone, and beginnings (Campbell, 2008). This model is appropriate for the current changes made in our facility because it focuses on individuals and their ability to transition to change. Change is something that happens to people, even if they do not agree with it. Transition, on the other hand, is internal, it s what happens in people s minds as they go through change. • 17. What Is The Value Of The Motion Picture Industry It is no surprise to know that there has been an increase in interest towards the motion picture industry. Largely because the motion picture industry has become a significant source of revenue in many countries. Thousands of movies are made each year, and they total to billions of dollars in revenue. For example, in 2006, more than 3,000 movies were in theaters totaling to $23.8 billion in revenue. Motion pictures are also instrumental in shaping worldwide impressions of a country s intellectual, historical, and cultural environment. In this paper, my objective is to address certain issues pertaining to the motion picture industry, specifically its value chain, the competitive landscape, the notion of net profit, cost allocation considerations, and the key elements to consider when conducting a cost variance analysis. The value chain of the motion picture industry consists of three stages production, distribution, and exhibition then it finally arrives for the consumption, where the audiences can see the final product. As the saying goes it takes a village in each of these stages to get the motion picture to consumers, but it is no easy task to make a motion picture. There are four phases involved before, during, and after the production stage: development, pre production, production, and post production. In the development phase, the producer acquires intellectual property. There is no particular order in which this is done, but the producer needs to purchase the rights to make the film, acquire a screenwriter, and obtain initial financing. This is easier for major studios, because hiring well known screenwriters, actors and actresses, as well as the director, makes it easier to obtain financing. Independent studios, on the other hand, have a limited budgeted and are only able to show a preview for major or subsidiary studios. Then the studio decision makers determine whether the film will be successful and compare it to other films. They also develop a scenario analysis of potential box office revenues and determine if they should move forward with the film. Films are only given the green light once the executives are satisfied with the predicted probability, and once they secure financing. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. Effective Questioning Is Essential For Teachers For... Effective questioning is essential for teachers to enable effective learning within the classroom (Dillon and Dillon 1998). It helps teachers gain an insight of what children are thinking also allowing them to analyse the quality of the children s answers (Perrot 1996). In the medium term plan a range of questioning is used including closed and open ended questions. Open ended questions allow children to give a more cognitive answer(Redfield and Rousseau 1981) as they encourage thinking skills (Cockburn and Handscomb 2011) meaning teachers can gain a wider range of answers from the children. This allows them to gain a deeper understanding of children s individual knowledge (De Boo 2004) as well as helping assess children s progress from the question types (Tizard and Huges 1984). Linking open ended questions to the National Curriculum is an effective way to use questioning to assess children checking that they are meeting the guidelines and are able to progress (Hudson 2013). Closed questions on the other hand allow children to give simple answers that are either right or wrong (Barnes et al 1986; Dillon and Dillon 1998). It has been found that a lot of teachers use closed questions because of the simplicity of the answers children can give (Bloom 1956), but Barnes et at (1986) argues that they can cause more anxiety and loss of self confidence in children as they feel pressured to give the correct answer. IBCT stems from Behavioral Couples Therapy (BCT); however, due to a lack of outcomes that demonstrated successful long term effects in couples, IBCT was created (Jacobson Christensen, 1996). The rise of Ford as the largest vehicle manufacturer became apparent, ( Ford , par. 7) along with the rising popularity of radios, phonographs and frigidaires. And the event that perhaps was the most substantial of them all: World War 2. As these events transpired, the face of America as a nation shifted in all arenas politically, economically and socially, garnering the attention of its citizens as well as the attention of citizens of other foreign countries. One of those individuals was renowned English poet, Wystan Hugh Auden (W.H Auden). Born in York, England in 1907, he moved to the United States in 1939... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the much older sense of the word, saint is used to describe Catholic martyrs in the early centuries after the birth of Christ. (Pickert, par. 2). Since the poem was written at a much later time, saintliness is used as a general term equating moral goodness , which was essentially what saints were recognized for. This is the concept meant by modern sense (4). In the time of the war, so long as men were compliant and functioning members of society, they were deemed saints: mum and mild in nature. The eighth and tenth lines read He worked in a factory and never got fired.../ Yet he wasn t a scab or odd in his views / For his Union reports that he paid his dues. (Auden 8, 10). The man in question then represents the majority of the individuals that were expected to work hard and support the modernization of the United States as workers, as well as support the system financially by paying debts. Albeit monotonous, this was the social expectation that people were expected to follow, as if their individual lives existed only to fill in the population. Especially during a grim time where deaths were so widespread. The time period distinguished the character of men in the extremes, either as being sadistically evil or a saint, earning the title of saint simply by living unbothered lives. The results of the consultations further validated the findings of the Third Elementary Education Project (TEEP) that induction programs were conducted in the division and school levels but there was a need to systematize, structure and organize 3 the program for teachers with 0 3 years experience. Related studies reviewed by the Council reinforced the need for a structured teacher support. There was the consensus that the beginning teacher should not develop a curve of disenchantment especially in their first three years of teaching. In an interview of 20 teachers in a small public high school in Cavite City, the researcher found out that none of them have a formal induction when they first started to work in the school. They all found out their rights, responsibilities, expected tasks, the history of the organization and many more by hearsays or stories of their fellow employees which sometimes brought them confusion, anxiety stress, and worst burn out. The situation might have caused teachers to think of quitting their jobs and find other careers somewhere else. He loved people, especially women and children. I would not consider him a true follower of a Christ, but rather a man who does good works. In Titus 3:5 it says, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit. (New King James Version, Tit. 3.5) This verse is basically saying that you cannot get to heaven through good works. Robin was not very good at this, as we can see all the situations it got him in. A quick temper will make a fool of you soon enough. ( Bruce Lee ) Robin s anger caused him to kill two people! When one gets angry it can affect more than just you. It is not wrong to be angry, but it is wrong to act upon our anger. In Ephesians 4:26 it says, Be angry, and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your wrath. (Ephesians 4.26)This verse is a reminder to not act upon our anger, but also not to hold onto it because it ends up hurting us more by holding onto it. The final lesson I have learned from Robin Hood is to do things the right way. Often times the right way ends up being the harder way, but it is always more rewarding. One of the main reasons Robin had so many enemies is because the things he did were against the law and unjust to certain people. In James 4:17 it says, Therefore, to him who knows to do good and does not do it, to him it is sin. (James 4.17)This verse is saying that if one knows the right thing to do, but does not do it, it is a sin. Doing the right thing can be very hard. If one remains faithful, God will bless ... • 39. Relationship Between The Cold War And Global White Supremacy The relationship between the Cold War and global white supremacy is clear from Borstelmann s writing. He demonstrates how the improvement of race relations both domestic and foreign were a necessity. If the U.S. did not fix how potential allies (specifically all post colonial countries) viewed the U.S., communism was sure to spread. Although Latham does not identify raceas a reason for modernization both Latham and Borstelmann show that Aligning with these posts countries was necessary to prevent communism from becoming the primary economic system across the globe. Although Americas primary agenda was to put a cease to the ascension of Communism during the Cold War; results of such efforts lead to a decline in global white supremacy through empowering local leaders, changing legislation, and an increase in economic opportunities for minorities. Although modernization was not perfect there were many countries that benefited from U.S. help. In fact countries such as India, Ghana, and Egypt embraced the help of the U.S. America s assistance. With all three countries U.S. s support in empowering their economic growth was successful. Although modernizations was to help these underdeveloped countries the primary gaol of the U.S. is to decimate the prevalence of communism.
