In many cases, it has been the awareness that change was even happening at all, the
understanding that the solid base from which prediction was being made might be about as solid
as quicksand. Even the most apparently immutable system or structure may be experiencing
change even as you look at it. By change I mean, of course, not just change in the sense of bigger
and better models and new ways of doing the same things you were doing before, but qualitative
change in the structure and behavior of the society in which you live. I mean new philosophies as
well as new gadgets. I m not saying that the appreciation of change is easy; far from it, particularly
today. As one of your more respectable social forecasters said recently, If you understand something
today, that means it must by definition already be obsolete. Our general relationship with the
present accelerating rate of change reminds me of the postcard from the patient on holiday to his
psychiatrist at home: Having a wonderful time. Why? The difficulty

Technology For Perceiving The Environment, Understanding...
Sensors Overview:
They are the key technology for perceiving the environment, Understanding the physical principle
enables appropriate use
Global Positioning System (GPS) Sensors:
GPS sensors are receivers with antennas that use a satellite based navigation system with a network
of 24 satellites in orbit around the earth to provide position, speed , and time information.
The GPS was originally developed for use by the United States army, but in the 1980s, the United
States government allowed the system to be used for civilian people. Though the GPS satellite data
is free and works anywhere in the world.
By using the GPS sensor, you can get current information from the GPS receiver, such as (x) and
(y) coordinates, and velocity.
LIDAR SENSOR
Lidar (also called LIDAR, LiDAR, and LADAR) is a surveying method that measures distance to a
target by illuminating that target with a laser light. The name lidar, sometimes considered an
acronym of Light Detection And Ranging,(sometimes Light Imaging, Detection, And Ranging),
was originally a portmanteau of light and radar . Lidar is popularly used to make high resolution
maps, with applications in geodesy geomatics , archaeology geography, geology, geomorphology,
seismology ,forestry atmospheric physics, laser guidance, airborne laser swath mapping (ALSM),
and laser altimetry. Lidar sometimes is called laser scanning and 3D scanning, with terrestrial, and
cellphones applications.
Lidar uses ultraviolet visible or near infrared

Juxtaposition In Shakespeare
In much of literature there exists the juxtaposition of the natural world vs. the unnatural. Human s
effect on nature and how it, in turn, influences us, is a crucial theme in many classic works. In
Shakespeare s play As You Like It, the initial setting is in the court, however, the characters are
soon introduced to the Forest of Ardenne where the magic and the differences of the natural world
are clear. Shakespeare uses this juxtaposition of settings to contrast the values of each environment
and create resolution for all characters at the end of the play. In the second scene of AYLI, it is
established that Duke Senior, Rosalind s father, has been banished to the Forest of Ardenne by his
brother, Duke Frederick. Although banished usually... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the court, there is Duke Senior, Duke Frederick, Rosalind, Touchstone, Celia, Orlando and
Oliver, characters that are often described as pretty or able to speak well. This highlights their more
dignified, educated backgrounds. Many of them are witty and engage in clever banter throughout
the play that gives them a more sophisticated quality. Then there are the country characters: Silvius,
Corin, Phebe, William, and Audrey. These characters are obviously less educated, having spent their
entire lives in the forest, farming. Their lack of intelligence in the court sense, is shown through the
incompatibility of dialogue between city and country characters. For example, Audrey and
Touchstone often have issue while talking because Audrey does not know the definition of certain
words such as foul and poetical. When she attempts to use these words, incorrectly so, her country
idiocy is amplified. The discrepancy between country and court characters is also demonstrated in
Touchstone s encounter with William, Audrey s former lover who describes himself as witty.
Touchstone arrogantly brushes this notion aside, asserting that only fools call themselves witty.
This scene portrays William as a kind of country bumpkin and establishes the idea that while the
country may seem like a good solution for city woes, it should not necessarily be considered a
permanent solution, because the benefits of court life, in this case education, are

Develop an involvement profile for a typical consumer of your chosen product/service and
discuss any key issues that would be relevant to a marketer. Use Figure 3 5 and Figure 3 6 on
page 96 in assessing the level of involvement that a prospective customer of your chosen product

There are four types of involvement: enduring, situational, cognitive and affective.
What leads to a high level involvement are the following factors: the perceived risk, personal
interest, probability of making the wrong decision, amount of pleasure to purchase and the

Anselm and the proof for the existence of God
Introduction In the middle ages there were many ideas of the existence of God but there was one
common thing that everyone knew, God existed. Although everyone agreed that God existed,
philosophers such Anselm tried to prove God s existence anyway. In the passage Prosolgium,
Anselm is trying to prove the existenceof God to Ganilo by giving two approaches. The goal of the
dialog is to prove that the combination accepting that God exists and not believing that God exists
is not possible. The conclusion of Anselm s proofs are that God exists. In order to understand
where Anselm is coming from we have to have some background information. Anselm is speaking
to Ganilo about the fool, in other words the atheists, that understands two important aspects of God.
The first is that he accepts that claim that God exists and the second is that he does not believe in
the existence of God. The next big piece of Anselm s proofs is his definition of God which is that
than which nothing greater can be thought . The definition is stating that it is not possible for
something greater then God to be thought. Knowing these two very important aspects of
information we can dive into the argument itself. Proofs for the Existence of God As mentioned
before, Anselm comes with two proofs for the existence of God and we will start with the first
proof. The first proof begins with Anselm s definition of God which is that than which nothing
great can be thought. The definition is saying that God

Dr Strangelove Satire
Dr Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, which I will be
referring to as Strangelove, is a political satire directed by Stanley Kubrick that was released in
1964. The Film displays the absurdity of the Balance of Terror during the cold war and the ease of
which a nuclear holocaust could occur, whilst also critiquing the absolute power of politicians
whom have the means to enact one. Strangelove communicates these themes with its use of satire
utilising comedic characters and situations to highlight the ridiculousness of cold warpolitics.
However the implications of using comedy to translate sensitive themes of war and human
extinction are polarising, raising the question is there anything you can t joke about? Assessing
how other texts deal with the same subject matter and analysing people s emotional response to
satire, we will investigate the effectiveness of Strangelove s ability to communicate an anti war
message.

My Favorite School Field Trip
Some people wouldn t think school could be fun. All that we do is learn. All field trips we go on
are just educational and boring. Well some might be, but many can be fun. You would never think
somewhere you ve always wanted to go to would be your next field trip. Somewhere really fun. I
have thought plenty of times in the past that I didn t want to go on the tripit was boring, but I was
wrong and this is why.
My first favorite school memory was in eighth grade. I was in chorus and we were going on a trip
to Massachusetts with the band for a competition. I was super excited and couldn t wait to sell
all of my tickets. When the day finally came I was so excited. We rode in a coach bus which was
really cool because I ve never been in one before. When we arrived in Massachusetts we headed
over to where we were having the competition. The competition was being held at a really big
school. We performed and sounded really good. I was super nervous I didn t want to mess up
since I had never done that before.
When we were finally done the competition we got our award handed to us and our tickets to get
into Six Flags. We left the school and head off on our journey to Agawam, Massachusetts where
Six Flags was located. As we got closer and closer there were flags on the side of the road leading
us there and my anticipation grew even stronger. I couldn t wait to get there.
Once we finally arrived everyone couldn t wait to get off the bus and have some fun. I was really
excited. We got off the bus and had a really long walk to get into the park. There were no close
parking spaces for the bus so we had to go all the way to the back parking lot and walk up to the
entrance. Once I walked into the park it was so much bigger than any I expected. All the roller
coasters were huge. I didn t get to go on any because everyone would ask me to hold their stuff but
a couple things I did go on were the bumper cars, a water slide, a boat ride and I played some mini
games. Those were fun enough for me but if I ever go back again I am going to try the roller
coasters. The water slide was really fun. All you had to do was go up a ramp inside a tube and the
ramp would push you down the slide while water was being splashed at

Pastoral Elegy; Alternating Iambic Pentameter and Trimeter, Irregular Rhyme
Dead friend? Check.
Shepherds? Check.
That s it, folks. That s all you need to know about this poem to conclude that Lycidas is a pastoral
elegy.
Great. But wait, what s a pastoral elegy? Awesome question. It s a type of poem invented by the
Greek speaking Sicilian poet Theocritus in the third century BCE. There are two parts to this poem:
the elegy part, and the pastoral part.
Milton covers the elegy angle by making this poem about his dead friend Edward King. An elegy
is a poem mourning the death of someone, who is almost always a fellow poet. Done.
As for the pastoral portion, well a pastoral poem is one that idealizes shepherds and country life,
often presenting it as timeless and easy going. In the poem, Lycidas and the speaker are shepherds
who, before Lycidas death, had a merry old time steering their sheep around the countryside.
These two types of poetry are combined in the pastoral elegy, a genre in which the speaker of the
poem memorializes a fellow poet using a number of features of the pastoral poem. In Lycidas, the
speaker frequently refers to an idyllic past in which he and

positively impacting Latin America regions in the areas of tourism, immigration, and natural

should turn to the regulation of the illegal drugs, since it will benefit Latin American governments,
and the United States economy. From when the War on Drugs started to current day, over 50
billion dollars has been spent to seize illegal drugs crossing the border, but the program has only
seized ten percent of the drugs that cross the border. That means that 50 billion dollars has been
sent to capture drugs, but it isn t working. If drugs were legalized, it would allow the U.S.
government to spend this money on other pressing issues that are currently under funded. Not only
would the legalization of drugs help the U.S. government, it would also help governments in
Andean South America, specifically Peru. Americans consumption of illegal drugs is detrimental
from the Peru government, as the cartels can control what the government does, due to their large
cash flow. Peru s government is currently controlled by the drug cartels, which is harming the
people living there, as their government does not accurately represent who they are, and does not

not only for the installation itself (which made both local and nationwide news) but for my own
return, as I hadn t been back for a year. Few knew I would be there, so my arrival was met by
surprise and heartfelt fondness. Each individual meeting with friends, acquaintances and clergy
came accompanied by deep emotional tugs. Indeed, by the time I could talk to the now senior
rabbi I was nearly at a loss for coherent speech. (That was okay, though; her smile told me she
understood everything I was not saying). I wanted to talk more, have another coffee with each and
every old friend, stay swimming within these powerful and powerfully emotional eddies and
currents. My last day started out with a vigorous Torahstudy (one of the aspects the Temple is
known for) and then lunch with another old friend who had one more surprise for me on an
impulse, he was leaving his longtime job, apartment and the congregation to move in with his
boyfriend across the country in San Francisco. Not within a year or even months but in the next 4

The Transformational Psychology View, By Coe And Hall Essay
The Transformational Psychology view, by Coe and Hall, believes how we live out our
Christianity is more important than our understanding of how to think Christianly. Its an approach
that states psychology is an act of doing love. It emphasizes learning, practicing, and living
psychological science through the Spirit. The goal is not to relate aspects of science to faith,
rather to transform science into an actual act of faith. The transformational view offers and values
the idea of soul care for individuals. This view still respects the traditions and historical aspects of
psychology. It emphasizes the importance of openness towards experience, observation, and simply
humanness. This approach encourages individuals to explore all the wisdom and opportunity that
is out there, and come back from those experiences a deeper Christian and closer to God. It
suggests that the more open we are to different experiences, the more we grow, the more we help
others, and the more we can serve God. This view really makes it a point that we are our own
limitation. We are the ones holding humanity back from wandering through all the amazing things
this world has to offer. The transformational view has Scriptural truths as the foundation and wants
those who practice science to strive to live more like Christ. It does not take presuppositions,
experience, observation as the foundation, only biblical truth. A few criticisms towards the
transformational psychology view point out that this

Theme Of Heroism In The Iliad
Categorizing Heroism in the Iliad
Throughout The Iliad, Homer paints several poetically visceral scenes of violence that keep the
reader engaged on a primal level and simultaneously appeals to our emotional side by recounting the
dramatic triumphs in addition to the harrowing failures of its heroes. Identifying the traits that
render these characters heroic allows the reader to internalize and understand the values that were
most important to Homer, a member of Greek society between the eighth and seventh centuries
BCE. In book ten, the author uses the night raid undertaken by Diomedes and Odysseus as a way to
develop two distinct types of heroic behaviour by contrasting the two heroes and their individual
approaches taken when faced with a variety of situations that test their character. The epithets used
to describe the characters, compounded with the techniques they utilize to deal with the enemy
scout Dolon, and the different roles they fall into when raiding the Thracian camp all effectively
contribute to the categorization of these two distinct types of heroes.
There are innumerable named characters in the Iliad, which consequently leads to the widespread
use of epithets throughout. In order to circumvent making the reader remember every trait of
every character, Homer uses epithets to distill the essence of a character down to a single word
or a memorable bite sized phrase. This allows for constant reinforcement of important
characteristics of the multitudes of important characters. Since epithets serve such a major role
in understanding the important particularities of a character, they can be easily employed as a
comparative tool. In book 10, the epithets attached to Diomedes are powerful (lines 369, 446),
strong (line 536), brave (line 559), and of the great war cry (lines 219, 241, 283, 345). These
adjectives conjure up images of a great, physical presence and of a man skilled in battle, which are
obviously traits that are revered and welcomed when fighting a war. These attributes form the first
archetype of hero used in by Homer, that of the fighting hero . Menelaus, Achilles, Hektor,
Telemonious Ajax and several other fierce warriors additionally represent this type of hero.

Sexual Connotation In Roland Barthes s The Death Of The...
Roland Barthes essay the Death of the Author (1968) marks the transition from structuralism to
poststructuralism , in which he celebrates the demise of the author as ushering in an era of joyous
freedom (Barry 65) granted to the literary text and its reading. The text becomes an open ended
and a polysemic discourse, and as such open to multiple meanings. He favours the essential verbal
condition of literature , in which the role of the reader is that of something who holds together in a
single field all the traces [intertextuality included] by which the written text is constituted (Leitch
1324 25). His poststructuralist perspective makes him see a text s unity lying not in its origin (an
author), but its destination (a reader). In... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the process of occurrence of writing, Barthes sees, the reader as experiencing the intensities, the
pleasure of the text, the erotics of reading texts that are always coming into being. Barthes equates
the reading experience, so often, with a kind of orgasmic , thus, giving it hedonistic or say inherent
sexual connotation .
In his essays From Work to Text and Theory of the Text Barthes contrasts the traditional author
based notion of The Work with The Text , and state that while a work can be held in the hand and
seen on the shelves of libraries and bookshops, the text only exists when it is produced by the new
reader . To him the Text is experienced only in an activity, in a production (Barthes cited in Allen
83).
To Barthes, as has been pointed out, the text is a kind of woven or spun fabric seen as made up of
quotations, references, and echoes . Never the less, this intertextual weave is potentially infinite in
the sense that when we come to deal with the text we find it as if it has been something already
written and the already said . The new reader of the text notices that the quotations a text is made of
are anonymous, irrecoverable, and yet already read: they are quotations without quotation marks

Phineas Gage
The class discussion on Phineas Gage really stood out to me. I was astounded by the fact that a
man could survive a metal rod shot through their skull. While I started in with fascination about
the physical effects, I was even more intrigued about the mental and psychological effects of the
accident. I really wanted to look more in depth about the case study of Phineas Gage. While
working on a railroad line, Phineas Gage s skull was pierced by a metal rod from an explosion.
However, instead of being killed, Phineas was immediately able to sit up and speak, and after the
wound healed he returned to work (Myers, 2014, p. 56). This case forced scientists to rethink the
parts and functions of the brain. Upon hearing this, I was amazed by the

Abbottabad, Pakistan noumansami83@hotmail.com Abstract In today s fast changing world,
cybercrimes are growing at perturbing pace. At the very definition of it, cybercrimes get
engendered by capitalizing on threats and exploitation of vulnerabilities. However, recent history
reveals that such crimes often come with surprises and seldom follow the trends. This puts the
defense systems behind in the race, because of their inability to identify new patters of cybercrime
and to ameliorate to the required levels of security. This paper visualizes the empowerment of
security systems through real time data mining by the virtue of which these systems will be able to
dynamically identify patterns of cybercrimes. This will help those security systems stepping up
their defense capabilities, while adapting to the required levels posed by newly germinating
patterns. In order to confine within scope of this paper, the application of this approach is being
discussed in the context of selected scenarios of cybercrime.

Professional Athletes Should Be Allowed At The Olympic Games
With the multi billions of dollars that the Olympics earn and spend, it s certainly is in the best
interest of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) to remain under the circumstances of
keeping sport open to professional athletes, not only financially, but as well as the majority of their
viewers. In this position statement, I will use historic International Olympic Committeeguidelines
(1964) and official IOC reports as a basis for proving that professional athletes should be allowed to
participate in the Olympic Games.
To successfully understand what differentiates a professional athlete from an amateur athlete, and
the issues that arise from it, we must understand how the International Olympic Committee defines
a professional and amateur athlete. According to the Eligibility Rules of the International Olympic
Committee published in 1964,
a person was only eligible to participate in the Olympic games if they were an advocate for sport,
without material gain of any kind. He does not qualify:
a) If he has not a basic occupation designed to insure his insure his present and future livelihood;
b) If he receives or has received remuneration for participation in sport ;
c) If he does not comply with the Rules of the International Federation concerned, and the official
interpretations of this Rule number 26 . (Eligibility Rules of the International Olympic
Committee,1964. p. 5)

Carl s Bully
Once lived an eleven year old boy named Carl, who went to Boston Cathedral primary school.
However, he was very different from the other boys at his school. Let s put it in this way he was
unique. This was because he weighed 300 pounds, had more pimples than you could count, had
the biggest glasses ever made and was so smart he could solve Albert Einstein s impossible
equations with ease. He used to be a very happy and normal kid at his school until a kid named
Jack arrived. He constantly tormented, hit and made Carl s life hell. Just for being different.

Sandburg And Blake
In the poem, London by William Blake and Chicago by Carl Sandburg, the speakers in the poem
made use of several figurative languages to compliment the style of the poem and also the
theme present in both poems. Vampirism is a big theme that presents itself in both poems and
both speakers made sure to exploit this general theme. To begin with, the poem Chicago ,
addresses the outlook of Chicago during the period of its development. The speaker of the poem
focuses on the things that Chicago is consisted of and in several ways, debunked the
misconceptions about Chicago. This was achieved through humor and a bit of sarcasm. Chicago
is seen to be laughing...as an ignorant fighter...who has never lost a battle. The speaker even
further personifies Chicago as a wicked, crooked and brutal person that cares not too much
about the people under its care. This ties well into the governmental system of Chicago where
the gunman [kills and goes] free to kill again. In comparison to London by William Blake, the same
theme is repeated in lines 10 to lines 12 where the Palace walls were stained with blood and the

City of the Big Shoulders in Chicago, introduces a new outlook to some parts of the poem. This
poem line could interpret the people of Chicago as people with literally big shoulders due to the
kind of labor they do. It could also suggest that the people or the city, as it was depicted in the
poem, possess a warm heart, great humor and a shoulder for others to lean on. In lines 6 to 9
where Chicago was being verbally attacked, none of the claims were denied but in retaliation, the
city was depicted as the strongest, the most cunning and hardest working of all other states. The
humor comes later on when the city was laughing in a manner that disregards the ignorance of the
person in lines 6 to 9. Also in London, a little bit of exaggeration was expended in line 11 to

Is A Peg Exchange Rate Regime Is The Loss Of Control Over...
One prominent criticism of adopting a peg exchange rate regime is the loss of control over
monetary policy. The simultaneous combination of a fixed exchange rate regime and open capital
markets with an independent monetary policy constitutes the Impossible Trinity. If the exchange
rate is pegged and capital is mobile, then the domestic nominal interest rate must equal the foreign
nominal interest rate. Lack of effective local monetary policyis harmful, especially when a country
is hit by domestic shocks which are not correlated with business cycles in the anchor country. A
domestic monetary policy is a plus, but the existence of an independent monetary policy does not
guarantee its proper performance. Developing countries usually do... Show more content on

Three historical examples of the Bretton Woods system in the 1970s, the successful attacks under
the European Monetary System in 1992 and 1993 and the emerging market crises of 1994 2000
prove that the fragility of a peg exchange rate is more severe under an open capital market
(Obstfeld and Rogoff, 1995). Another challenge in a fixed exchange rate regime, after choosing
the right anchor, is pegging to the right rate. The risk of being locked into a misaligned exchange
rate is a disadvantage of a fixed exchange rate regime. The equilibrium exchange rate an
exchange rate based on the fundamentals is the efficient rate. Any divergence from this rate and
insisting on the wrong exchange rate is damaging. This is not the case in a floating exchange
rate regime where the exchange rate is not locked. However, even in a floating exchange rate
regime, there is a possibility of being far from the equilibrium exchange rate for some time. In a
fixed exchange rate regime, especially if the trade of a country is concentrated with those major
currencies, the cross rate fluctuation (the fluctuations of the anchor currency against other major
currencies) is another severe flaw. For example, the Persian Gulf oil exporting countries follow a
peg exchange rate to the US dollar and have most of their trade with Europe and Japan. In 1997,
the appreciation of the US dollar

Understanding The Intricacies Of Ministry
A Practical Approach to Understanding the Intricacies of Ministry
For the things we have to learn before we can do them, we learn by doing them. Aristotle, The
Nicomachean Ethics
Like any other profession, the call to ministry requires intense preparation. In fact, the process of
personal and professional development of clerical leaders demands the necessary interplay between
theory and praxis. Certainly, while courses in exegesis, ethics, systematic theology and critical
interpretation among others are designed to expand the theoretical, supervised ministry transports
the budding theologian directly into the practical realm of ministry through practice .
Over the course of the semester I have gleaned valuable insights through baptism by emersion into
the often unseen realities that shape ministry within the context of local congregations. Often the
external structures visible to members of the laity do not accurately reveal the internal elements of
planning, organizing, and coordination required for effective ministry. Certainly, my experience has
reaffirmed the notion that ministry can be demanding. In other words, I have come to the
conclusion that the call to ministry is a call to challenging, yet meaningful work. At the very onset
of the supervised ministry process, I relished the opportunity to increase my understanding of the
life, and work, of the 21st century minister, I had a myriad of questions concerning issues such as
the daily demands on the minister s

How Does Jack London Create Similarities Between The Call...
Many readers of the fiction genre come across Jack London s works. London began writing in the
year of 1893 after his mother encouraged him to write his story and submit it into a writing
contest. If you have ever came across one of London s novels you have probably noticed the
similarities of setting, theme, and the protagonist. London s novels The Call of the Wind and White
Fangshare several of those similarities. London uses similarities throughout the settings in The Call

London s protagonists are dogs in both of his novels. The snow walls pressed him on every side,
and a great surge of fear swept through him the fear of the wild thing for the trap. It was a token
that he was harking back through his own life to the lives of his forebears; for he was a civilised
dog, an unduly civilised dog, and of his own experience knew no trap and so could not of himself
fear it. The muscles of his whole body contracted spasmodically and instinctively (London 30). In
The Call of the Wind, London shows Buck s animal fear and his more advanced level of fear. So
White Fang knew nothing of the kindness a man s hand might offer. Besides, he did not like the
hands of the man animals. He did not trust them. It was true they sometimes gave meat, but more
often they gave hurt. Hands were things to keep away from. (London 86). In White Fang, White
Fang started out as just a puppy in the wild. He does normal puppy things like exploring and getting
himself into trouble with the humans. The humans would not only give him food, but beat and
throw rocks at him giving him no reason to trust the human hand. In The Call of the Wind and

A market structure is where the physical characteristics of the market, where firms interact ().
Market structures can highlight the criteria of firms, and express the barriers that they may face

types of market structures are a direct reflection of the current economic market state. When a

Even in perfect competition market, the demand and supply can shift at any moment. Most of the
time, the shift has already been predicted. Within a perfection competition market, there a different
types of equilibriums. The different types of equilibriums within a perfect completion are the
competitive, long run, and market equilibriums.
The competitive equilibrium emphasizes that a perfect competition has four common
characteristics. The first characteristic of a perfection competition is when a large number of
firms produces goods or service for a market that has a large amount of consumer. The second
characteristic of a perfect competition is that there are no barriers for new firms to enter the
markets at any time. The third characteristic of a perfect competition is all of the firms in the
market sell produces that are identical in nature. The fourth characteristic of perfect competition is
that all firms and consumers are price takers (). This means that the firms will have product for sale
at a certain price, and the consumer will have no problem purchasing the product at that price.
Consumers do not influence the prices at all in a perfect competition.
The long run equilibrium emphasizes that a perfect competition firms can enter and leave a market
whenever they choose to. Long run equilibriums will initially show profits. After a long period of
time, the price will ultimately end up at a stall,

Grounded theory interprets data from the reality of the individual, and it can be understand under

Practice of ICT for Effective Implementation of Internal Control System and Internal Audit in the
Context of Nepalese NGOs
Introduction:
The technologies used in information and communication systems have changed operational

In March 2012, local leaders and the United Way demanded answers from Red Cross Panhandle
Chapter regarding the distribution of $282K that was raised from wildfire relief donations.
These funds were raised in 2010 and by the time the inquiries began many of the 2010 ARC staff
in this chapter had been replaced under the government restructure. As such, new staff found
itself in a quandary as it sought to address the questions and accusations being hurled (Welch,

$119k was actually given to victims and $60K was used to restock inventories. This account still

funds were not distributed for the purpose for which it was collected? A spokesperson for the

The Epidemic Of London. Johnson
In the TGM, Johnson includes scientific evidence and tangents to enrich the story of the cholera
epidemic on London. Johnson tries to get a bird s eye view of seeing how cholera spread through
London. In that way Johnson tries to get the reader to not only see individual stories of people who
contracted cholerabut to produce information on how it came about, what it is, and give as much
background and insight to get the readerto see information they usually wouldn t. Johnson also uses
these scientific tangents to show modern era readers that based on what happened in London it

explaining how essential the specific information plays a role in the development of London. He
tries to bring the information of what happened two centuries ago to relate to modern readers. It
was essential that Johnson gave extra information because it helped to further develop the story.
Adding in these details answers the readers questions and gives an explanation on why something
took place while reassuring the reader by giving factual research. It doesn t take away from the
story nor distract the reader from the central idea of the story. It adds more information to benefit
the story as a whole by enriching the reading by giving factual evidence.

struggling not only with their education but in their personal lives as well. With their focus
mostly being on their survival, they don t seek to improve upon their education because on their
list puts studying and homework at the end. In doing so they push themselves back and then get
piled up with work and grades to the point where they just quit. Since most of these kids already
feel pressured to help their families, they are unable to see the importance and value of education
since they are mostly seeking for fast solutions for their problems. Additionally homeless kids are
not helped as much, there seem to be no certain position or person that is able to qualify in regards
to the help that homeless kids need. But with emphasis on the importance of education, these kids
are unable to see the potential that they can unlock through education. As a result more kids

contempt aspect of Populism by dwelling on the threats posed by outsiders . He establishes his
rhetoric on the basis of a hierarchy existing in the country and that certain groups who are true
American should reap the rewards that have been denied to them. He claims to be the mouthpiece
for the common man who has been ignored by the government and deserve to be heard. Throughout
the American rhetoric, Populism echoes the Lockean liberal thought of liberal thought of the social
contract, the emphasis on the Republic for the common person, and the patriotism stemming from
Providentialism and Ascriptive Americanism.
Overlooking such an influential style of thought would disregard the reforms Populism had inspired
as a safeguard for the common man. Further, Populism is a product of aspects of Liberalism,
Republicanism, Providentialism and Ascriptive Americanism. These elements are still influential in
modern day America, which have had both positive and negative effects on American life Populism
needs to be included as part of the United States rhetoric because of its impact on

Different Forms Of Impression Management
I analyzed Facebook postings from a person B, who is my friend. I found the following theme on
her Facebook which there were three pictures of the person B with her boyfriend, one when they
were hugging each other and facing to the beach. The other two when they were eating in the
restaurants. There were also a lot of pictures of food the person was eating, the place she was
hanging out with her family and friends. I also found two images when she stayed at home.
Besides that, there were four selfie photos when she was getting ready to go out. She called that
were the check in pictures. In much the same way as Goffman described life as a play; it called
Dramaturgy , people are learning to perform their self in everyday life. Erving Goffman defines
dramaturgy, in which social life is analyzed in term of drama or the stage; (115). Social media
allows people to use different forms of impression management. According to Henslin defines
impression management, People s efforts to control the impressions that others receive of them.
(115) In my analysis of person B s Facebook posts I noticed several trends. In the four photos that
were selfies I noticed some particular facial expressions, one of Goffman s sign vehicles. In the
four selfies I analyzed, the person was smiling as her facial expression. I believe that the reason
she makes this face is to give the impression that she was happy, and make the others who checked
her pictures feel happy and think of her as a friendly

Climate change is occurring across the globe and particularly in the Southwest region of the United
States of America. The Southwest has a long history of warm temperatures and drought, yet the
climate is currently changing like never before. This research paper will identify various case
studies of Arizona tribes being threatened due to climate change s effects of rising temperature and
drought. Rising temperatures as well as drought will continue to result in an increase in the melt of
snowpack, reduced water sources, and changes in the ecosystem for various Arizona tribes.
Additionally, the paper will address various solutions to these threats. The effects of climate change
will threaten the livelihoods of tribal communities in Arizona and... Show more content on

Certain models predict that drought activity is expected to increase toward the end of the 21st
century and particularly in the Colorado River Basin (MacDonald Turner, 21260). When the
dam was built in the early 20th century, annual flow was about 17.0 MAF (million acre feet) at
Lees Ferry, Arizona which is a few miles below the dam. Estimates calculating the past MAF of
the Colorado River average to about 13.8 14.6 over the last 450 years. Thus, the dam was built
in a period with an unexpectedly high MAF. Alarmingly in 2000 the river averaged less than 9
MAF. (Bolin, Seetharam, Pompeii, 263). In 2002, the river reached a low of about 6.2 MAF
(MacDonald Turner, 21256). Some models estimate that the river could reach the range of 1.5
to 4.5 MAF in the next 30 50 years. (Bolin, Seetharam, Pompeii, 271). The reduction of MAF in
the Colorado River is due to drought. Droughts have been occurring throughout the 20th century
with droughts from 1900 1904, 1924 1936, 1953 1964, and 1988 1991. These droughts are
associated with warmer regional temperatures and the level of warming is deemed exceptional for
the 21st century (MacDonald Turner, 21257). Recently the Colorado River has experienced the
lowest 5 year mean flows on record (MacDonald Turner, 21257). If river flow is low, so is Lake
Powell s water level. One study suggests that Lake Powell have a 50% chance of receding to
inoperable status by the 2020 s

These three divisions integrate a centralized policy directed/ decentralized execution approach to
govern daily operations.
Four organizational behaviors (Bureaucratic Politics Approach, Human Relations Approach,
Collegial Model, and Supportive Model) can be found within the organizational structure of the
DVA. These behaviors are necessary for the organization success. The Bureaucratic Politics
Approach is found in the Veteran Benefits Administration, Veteran Health Administration, and
National Cemetery Administration as a top down, centralized bureaucracy; therefore, abiding by
rules and regulations implemented by the government that is uniformly applied to all
administrations. The Human Relation Approach focuses on motivating employees individually

The Debate Over Human Cloning Essay
Human cloning, an unknown wonder to the universe the world has yet to unfold. The idea of
cloning can be a dream to some and others not so much, there s just endless possibilities when it
comes to cloning. With the thought of cloning humans comes reality and other things that can
cause issues or keep the experiment stagnant. Reality includes the process of cloninghumans, types
of cloning, products of cloning, cost, and also ethical issues. Besides the issues and reality part of
cloning, this could be considered a huge breakthrough in life and science, maybe even cataloged
like all the other infamous discoveries scientists have breached but certain things must be talked
about, like why cloning is banned in some states and why some people would rather not even think
about cloned humans. A first thought when thinking about human cloning might include how is
this possible or what s the process and truth be told, the process can definitely seem fascinating
but not as difficult as it may appear. Scientists will likely use a method called Somatic cell nuclear
transfer or SCNT for short. Somatic cell nuclear transfer begins when scientists take an egg from a
female donor and remove the nucleus, making the egg an enucleated egg. Then, a cell with DNA
contained within is taken from the person who is being cloned. The enucleated egg and the cell
with the DNA would be fused together using electricity which creates an embryo that is then
implanted in the surrogate mother

In many cases, it has been the awareness that change was even happening at all, the understanding that the solid base from which prediction was being made might be about as solid as quicksand. Even the most apparently immutable system or structure may be experiencing change even as you look at it. By change I mean, of course, not just change in the sense of bigger and better models and new ways of doing the same things you were doing before, but qualitative change in the structure and behavior of the society in which you live. I mean new philosophies as well as new gadgets. I m not saying that the appreciation of change is easy; far from it, particularly today. As one of your more respectable social forecasters said recently, If you understand something today, that means it must by definition already be obsolete. Our general relationship with the present accelerating rate of change reminds me of the postcard from the patient on holiday to his psychiatrist at home: Having a wonderful time. Why? • 4. Juxtaposition In Shakespeare In much of literature there exists the juxtaposition of the natural world vs. the unnatural. Human s effect on nature and how it, in turn, influences us, is a crucial theme in many classic works. In Shakespeare s play As You Like It, the initial setting is in the court, however, the characters are soon introduced to the Forest of Ardenne where the magic and the differences of the natural world are clear. Shakespeare uses this juxtaposition of settings to contrast the values of each environment and create resolution for all characters at the end of the play. In the second scene of AYLI, it is established that Duke Senior, Rosalind s father, has been banished to the Forest of Ardenne by his brother, Duke Frederick. Although banished usually... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the court, there is Duke Senior, Duke Frederick, Rosalind, Touchstone, Celia, Orlando and Oliver, characters that are often described as pretty or able to speak well. This highlights their more dignified, educated backgrounds. Many of them are witty and engage in clever banter throughout the play that gives them a more sophisticated quality. Then there are the country characters: Silvius, Corin, Phebe, William, and Audrey. These characters are obviously less educated, having spent their entire lives in the forest, farming. Their lack of intelligence in the court sense, is shown through the incompatibility of dialogue between city and country characters. For example, Audrey and Touchstone often have issue while talking because Audrey does not know the definition of certain words such as foul and poetical. When she attempts to use these words, incorrectly so, her country idiocy is amplified. The discrepancy between country and court characters is also demonstrated in Touchstone s encounter with William, Audrey s former lover who describes himself as witty. Touchstone arrogantly brushes this notion aside, asserting that only fools call themselves witty. This scene portrays William as a kind of country bumpkin and establishes the idea that while the country may seem like a good solution for city woes, it should not necessarily be considered a permanent solution, because the benefits of court life, in this case education, are ... • 7. Anselm and the proof for the existence of God Introduction In the middle ages there were many ideas of the existence of God but there was one common thing that everyone knew, God existed. Although everyone agreed that God existed, philosophers such Anselm tried to prove God s existence anyway. In the passage Prosolgium, Anselm is trying to prove the existenceof God to Ganilo by giving two approaches. The goal of the dialog is to prove that the combination accepting that God exists and not believing that God exists is not possible. The conclusion of Anselm s proofs are that God exists. In order to understand where Anselm is coming from we have to have some background information. Anselm is speaking to Ganilo about the fool, in other words the atheists, that understands two important aspects of God. The first is that he accepts that claim that God exists and the second is that he does not believe in the existence of God. The next big piece of Anselm s proofs is his definition of God which is that than which nothing greater can be thought . The definition is stating that it is not possible for something greater then God to be thought. Knowing these two very important aspects of information we can dive into the argument itself. Proofs for the Existence of God As mentioned before, Anselm comes with two proofs for the existence of God and we will start with the first proof. The first proof begins with Anselm s definition of God which is that than which nothing great can be thought. The definition is saying that God ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Dr Strangelove Satire Dr Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb, which I will be referring to as Strangelove, is a political satire directed by Stanley Kubrick that was released in 1964. The Film displays the absurdity of the Balance of Terror during the cold war and the ease of which a nuclear holocaust could occur, whilst also critiquing the absolute power of politicians whom have the means to enact one. Strangelove communicates these themes with its use of satire utilising comedic characters and situations to highlight the ridiculousness of cold warpolitics. However the implications of using comedy to translate sensitive themes of war and human extinction are polarising, raising the question is there anything you can t joke about? Assessing how other texts deal with the same subject matter and analysing people s emotional response to satire, we will investigate the effectiveness of Strangelove s ability to communicate an anti war message. Well some might be, but many can be fun. You would never think somewhere you ve always wanted to go to would be your next field trip. Somewhere really fun. I have thought plenty of times in the past that I didn t want to go on the tripit was boring, but I was wrong and this is why. My first favorite school memory was in eighth grade. I was in chorus and we were going on a trip to Massachusetts with the band for a competition. I was super excited and couldn t wait to sell all of my tickets. When the day finally came I was so excited. We rode in a coach bus which was really cool because I ve never been in one before. When we arrived in Massachusetts we headed over to where we were having the competition. The competition was being held at a really big school. We performed and sounded really good. I was super nervous I didn t want to mess up since I had never done that before. When we were finally done the competition we got our award handed to us and our tickets to get into Six Flags. We left the school and head off on our journey to Agawam, Massachusetts where Six Flags was located. As we got closer and closer there were flags on the side of the road leading us there and my anticipation grew even stronger. I couldn t wait to get there. Once we finally arrived everyone couldn t wait to get off the bus and have some fun. I was really excited. We got off the bus and had a really long walk to get into the park. There were no close parking spaces for the bus so we had to go all the way to the back parking lot and walk up to the entrance. Once I walked into the park it was so much bigger than any I expected. All the roller coasters were huge. I didn t get to go on any because everyone would ask me to hold their stuff but a couple things I did go on were the bumper cars, a water slide, a boat ride and I played some mini games. Those were fun enough for me but if I ever go back again I am going to try the roller coasters. The water slide was really fun. All you had to do was go up a ramp inside a tube and the ramp would push you down the slide while water was being splashed at ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

That s all you need to know about this poem to conclude that Lycidas is a pastoral elegy. Great. But wait, what s a pastoral elegy? Awesome question. It s a type of poem invented by the Greek speaking Sicilian poet Theocritus in the third century BCE. There are two parts to this poem: the elegy part, and the pastoral part. Milton covers the elegy angle by making this poem about his dead friend Edward King. An elegy is a poem mourning the death of someone, who is almost always a fellow poet. Done. As for the pastoral portion, well a pastoral poem is one that idealizes shepherds and country life, often presenting it as timeless and easy going. In the poem, Lycidas and the speaker are shepherds who, before Lycidas death, had a merry old time steering their sheep around the countryside. These two types of poetry are combined in the pastoral elegy, a genre in which the speaker of the poem memorializes a fellow poet using a number of features of the pastoral poem. • 15. The Transformational Psychology View, By Coe And Hall Essay The Transformational Psychology view, by Coe and Hall, believes how we live out our Christianity is more important than our understanding of how to think Christianly. Its an approach that states psychology is an act of doing love. It emphasizes learning, practicing, and living psychological science through the Spirit. The goal is not to relate aspects of science to faith, rather to transform science into an actual act of faith. The transformational view offers and values the idea of soul care for individuals. This view still respects the traditions and historical aspects of psychology. It emphasizes the importance of openness towards experience, observation, and simply humanness. This approach encourages individuals to explore all the wisdom and opportunity that is out there, and come back from those experiences a deeper Christian and closer to God. It suggests that the more open we are to different experiences, the more we grow, the more we help others, and the more we can serve God. This view really makes it a point that we are our own limitation. We are the ones holding humanity back from wandering through all the amazing things this world has to offer. The transformational view has Scriptural truths as the foundation and wants those who practice science to strive to live more like Christ. It does not take presuppositions, experience, observation as the foundation, only biblical truth. A few criticisms towards the transformational psychology view point out that this ... • 16. Theme Of Heroism In The Iliad Categorizing Heroism in the Iliad Throughout The Iliad, Homer paints several poetically visceral scenes of violence that keep the reader engaged on a primal level and simultaneously appeals to our emotional side by recounting the dramatic triumphs in addition to the harrowing failures of its heroes. Identifying the traits that render these characters heroic allows the reader to internalize and understand the values that were most important to Homer, a member of Greek society between the eighth and seventh centuries BCE. In book ten, the author uses the night raid undertaken by Diomedes and Odysseus as a way to develop two distinct types of heroic behaviour by contrasting the two heroes and their individual approaches taken when faced with a variety of situations that test their character. The epithets used to describe the characters, compounded with the techniques they utilize to deal with the enemy scout Dolon, and the different roles they fall into when raiding the Thracian camp all effectively contribute to the categorization of these two distinct types of heroes. There are innumerable named characters in the Iliad, which consequently leads to the widespread use of epithets throughout. In order to circumvent making the reader remember every trait of every character, Homer uses epithets to distill the essence of a character down to a single word or a memorable bite sized phrase. This allows for constant reinforcement of important characteristics of the multitudes of important characters. Since epithets serve such a major role in understanding the important particularities of a character, they can be easily employed as a comparative tool. In book 10, the epithets attached to Diomedes are powerful (lines 369, 446), strong (line 536), brave (line 559), and of the great war cry (lines 219, 241, 283, 345). These adjectives conjure up images of a great, physical presence and of a man skilled in battle, which are obviously traits that are revered and welcomed when fighting a war. These attributes form the first archetype of hero used in by Homer, that of the fighting hero . Menelaus, Achilles, Hektor, Telemonious Ajax and several other fierce warriors additionally represent this type of hero. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 19. Sexual Connotation In Roland Barthes s The Death Of The... Roland Barthes essay the Death of the Author (1968) marks the transition from structuralism to poststructuralism , in which he celebrates the demise of the author as ushering in an era of joyous freedom (Barry 65) granted to the literary text and its reading. The text becomes an open ended and a polysemic discourse, and as such open to multiple meanings. He favours the essential verbal condition of literature , in which the role of the reader is that of something who holds together in a single field all the traces [intertextuality included] by which the written text is constituted (Leitch 1324 25). His poststructuralist perspective makes him see a text s unity lying not in its origin (an author), but its destination (a reader). In... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In his essays From Work to Text and Theory of the Text Barthes contrasts the traditional author based notion of The Work with The Text , and state that while a work can be held in the hand and seen on the shelves of libraries and bookshops, the text only exists when it is produced by the new reader . To him the Text is experienced only in an activity, in a production (Barthes cited in Allen 83). To Barthes, as has been pointed out, the text is a kind of woven or spun fabric seen as made up of quotations, references, and echoes . Never the less, this intertextual weave is potentially infinite in the sense that when we come to deal with the text we find it as if it has been something already written and the already said . While I started in with fascination about the physical effects, I was even more intrigued about the mental and psychological effects of the accident. I really wanted to look more in depth about the case study of Phineas Gage. While working on a railroad line, Phineas Gage s skull was pierced by a metal rod from an explosion. However, instead of being killed, Phineas was immediately able to sit up and speak, and after the wound healed he returned to work (Myers, 2014, p. 56). Building adaptive defense against cybercrimes using real time data mining Baber Majid Bhatti Head of IT Planning Design Ericsson AB Adelaide, Australia babermb@gmail.com Nouman Sami IT Provisioning Specialist Ericsson Managed Services Abbottabad, Pakistan noumansami83@hotmail.com Abstract In today s fast changing world, cybercrimes are growing at perturbing pace. At the very definition of it, cybercrimes get engendered by capitalizing on threats and exploitation of vulnerabilities. However, recent history reveals that such crimes often come with surprises and seldom follow the trends. This puts the defense systems behind in the race, because of their inability to identify new patters of cybercrime and to ameliorate to the required levels of security. This paper visualizes the empowerment of security systems through real time data mining by the virtue of which these systems will be able to dynamically identify patterns of cybercrimes. This will help those security systems stepping up their defense capabilities, while adapting to the required levels posed by newly germinating patterns. In order to confine within scope of this paper, the application of this approach is being discussed in the context of selected scenarios of cybercrime. In this position statement, I will use historic International Olympic Committeeguidelines (1964) and official IOC reports as a basis for proving that professional athletes should be allowed to participate in the Olympic Games. To successfully understand what differentiates a professional athlete from an amateur athlete, and the issues that arise from it, we must understand how the International Olympic Committee defines a professional and amateur athlete. Sandburg And Blake In the poem, London by William Blake and Chicago by Carl Sandburg, the speakers in the poem made use of several figurative languages to compliment the style of the poem and also the theme present in both poems. Vampirism is a big theme that presents itself in both poems and both speakers made sure to exploit this general theme. To begin with, the poem Chicago , addresses the outlook of Chicago during the period of its development. The speaker of the poem focuses on the things that Chicago is consisted of and in several ways, debunked the misconceptions about Chicago. This was achieved through humor and a bit of sarcasm. Chicago is seen to be laughing...as an ignorant fighter...who has never lost a battle. The speaker even further personifies Chicago as a wicked, crooked and brutal person that cares not too much about the people under its care. This ties well into the governmental system of Chicago where the gunman [kills and goes] free to kill again. • 28. Is A Peg Exchange Rate Regime Is The Loss Of Control Over... One prominent criticism of adopting a peg exchange rate regime is the loss of control over monetary policy. The simultaneous combination of a fixed exchange rate regime and open capital markets with an independent monetary policy constitutes the Impossible Trinity. If the exchange rate is pegged and capital is mobile, then the domestic nominal interest rate must equal the foreign nominal interest rate. Lack of effective local monetary policyis harmful, especially when a country is hit by domestic shocks which are not correlated with business cycles in the anchor country. A domestic monetary policy is a plus, but the existence of an independent monetary policy does not guarantee its proper performance. Developing countries usually do... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Three historical examples of the Bretton Woods system in the 1970s, the successful attacks under the European Monetary System in 1992 and 1993 and the emerging market crises of 1994 2000 prove that the fragility of a peg exchange rate is more severe under an open capital market (Obstfeld and Rogoff, 1995). Another challenge in a fixed exchange rate regime, after choosing the right anchor, is pegging to the right rate. The risk of being locked into a misaligned exchange rate is a disadvantage of a fixed exchange rate regime. The equilibrium exchange rate an exchange rate based on the fundamentals is the efficient rate. Any divergence from this rate and insisting on the wrong exchange rate is damaging. This is not the case in a floating exchange rate regime where the exchange rate is not locked. However, even in a floating exchange rate regime, there is a possibility of being far from the equilibrium exchange rate for some time. In a fixed exchange rate regime, especially if the trade of a country is concentrated with those major currencies, the cross rate fluctuation (the fluctuations of the anchor currency against other major currencies) is another severe flaw. For example, the Persian Gulf oil exporting countries follow a peg exchange rate to the US dollar and have most of their trade with Europe and Japan. In 1997, the appreciation of the US dollar ... Aristotle, The Nicomachean Ethics Like any other profession, the call to ministry requires intense preparation. In fact, the process of personal and professional development of clerical leaders demands the necessary interplay between theory and praxis. Certainly, while courses in exegesis, ethics, systematic theology and critical interpretation among others are designed to expand the theoretical, supervised ministry transports the budding theologian directly into the practical realm of ministry through practice . Over the course of the semester I have gleaned valuable insights through baptism by emersion into the often unseen realities that shape ministry within the context of local congregations. Often the external structures visible to members of the laity do not accurately reveal the internal elements of planning, organizing, and coordination required for effective ministry. Certainly, my experience has reaffirmed the notion that ministry can be demanding. In other words, I have come to the conclusion that the call to ministry is a call to challenging, yet meaningful work. At the very onset of the supervised ministry process, I relished the opportunity to increase my understanding of the life, and work, of the 21st century minister, I had a myriad of questions concerning issues such as the daily demands on the minister s ... Throughout the American rhetoric, Populism echoes the Lockean liberal thought of liberal thought of the social contract, the emphasis on the Republic for the common person, and the patriotism stemming from Providentialism and Ascriptive Americanism. Overlooking such an influential style of thought would disregard the reforms Populism had inspired as a safeguard for the common man. Further, Populism is a product of aspects of Liberalism, Republicanism, Providentialism and Ascriptive Americanism. These elements are still influential in modern day America, which have had both positive and negative effects on American life Populism needs to be included as part of the United States rhetoric because of its impact on ... • 44. Different Forms Of Impression Management I analyzed Facebook postings from a person B, who is my friend. I found the following theme on her Facebook which there were three pictures of the person B with her boyfriend, one when they were hugging each other and facing to the beach. The other two when they were eating in the restaurants. There were also a lot of pictures of food the person was eating, the place she was hanging out with her family and friends. I also found two images when she stayed at home. Besides that, there were four selfie photos when she was getting ready to go out. She called that were the check in pictures. In much the same way as Goffman described life as a play; it called Dramaturgy , people are learning to perform their self in everyday life. Erving Goffman defines dramaturgy, in which social life is analyzed in term of drama or the stage; (115). Social media allows people to use different forms of impression management. According to Henslin defines impression management, People s efforts to control the impressions that others receive of them. (115) In my analysis of person B s Facebook posts I noticed several trends. In the four photos that were selfies I noticed some particular facial expressions, one of Goffman s sign vehicles. In the four selfies I analyzed, the person was smiling as her facial expression. I believe that the reason she makes this face is to give the impression that she was happy, and make the others who checked her pictures feel happy and think of her as a friendly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Certain models predict that drought activity is expected to increase toward the end of the 21st century and particularly in the Colorado River Basin (MacDonald Turner, 21260). When the dam was built in the early 20th century, annual flow was about 17.0 MAF (million acre feet) at Lees Ferry, Arizona which is a few miles below the dam. Estimates calculating the past MAF of the Colorado River average to about 13.8 14.6 over the last 450 years. Thus, the dam was built in a period with an unexpectedly high MAF. Alarmingly in 2000 the river averaged less than 9 MAF. (Bolin, Seetharam, Pompeii, 263). In 2002, the river reached a low of about 6.2 MAF (MacDonald Turner, 21256). Some models estimate that the river could reach the range of 1.5 to 4.5 MAF in the next 30 50 years. (Bolin, Seetharam, Pompeii, 271). The reduction of MAF in the Colorado River is due to drought. Droughts have been occurring throughout the 20th century with droughts from 1900 1904, 1924 1936, 1953 1964, and 1988 1991. These droughts are associated with warmer regional temperatures and the level of warming is deemed exceptional for the 21st century (MacDonald Turner, 21257). Recently the Colorado River has experienced the lowest 5 year mean flows on record (MacDonald Turner, 21257). If river flow is low, so is Lake Powell s water level. One study suggests that Lake Powell have a 50% chance of receding to inoperable status by the 2020 s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With the thought of cloning humans comes reality and other things that can cause issues or keep the experiment stagnant. Reality includes the process of cloninghumans, types of cloning, products of cloning, cost, and also ethical issues. Besides the issues and reality part of cloning, this could be considered a huge breakthrough in life and science, maybe even cataloged like all the other infamous discoveries scientists have breached but certain things must be talked about, like why cloning is banned in some states and why some people would rather not even think about cloned humans. A first thought when thinking about human cloning might include how is this possible or what s the process and truth be told, the process can definitely seem fascinating but not as difficult as it may appear. Scientists will likely use a method called Somatic cell nuclear transfer or SCNT for short. Somatic cell nuclear transfer begins when scientists take an egg from a female donor and remove the nucleus, making the egg an enucleated egg. Then, a cell with DNA contained within is taken from the person who is being cloned. The enucleated egg and the cell with the DNA would be fused together using electricity which creates an embryo that is then implanted in the surrogate mother ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
