The definition of an exoplanet is a planet that orbits a star outside our solar system.

Nowadays techniques are becoming more refined and by using them predictions can
be made based on the many data points that we have for these planets. For example
the presence of certain elements can be detected via spectroscopy and then that data

This is because for a planet to be detected it must have an orbit that transits between
the observation point and the star. This means that the planet must orbit in a very
specific plane and that the plane becomes smaller for planets that orbit at a greater
distance from their host star. So planets that are detected using the transit method
are usually planets known as Hot Jupiters . To break down this description it means
that these planets are comparable to Jupiter because of their size and density, and
are described as being hot due to their closeness to their host star (usually between
0.015 and 0.05 AU) and the high surface temperature that comes with that closeness.
Also if the host star is small such as a neutron star then the size of the plane that a
transit is visible in is also reduced.
Another drawback is that the amount of false positive candidates is higher than
many other methods and it s thought that, in some cases, as many as 35% of
detected planets from Kepler are false. This means that in some cases follow up
investigation is required before a planet can be confirmed. A common source of false
positives is caused by fluctuations in the star s brightness which are not caused due to
a transiting planet but are often hard to differentiate and so they can cause false

In the experiment the magnesium reacts with the hydrochloric acid to create

This is to compare with the other diagrams to see what the change is and if the
reaction rate has decreased or increased.
The first one is to see what will happen if I change the temperature of the solution. As
the temperature increases the speed and the power at which the acid particles hit each
other increases, making the number of successful collisions with the magnesium strip
increase.
The second one is to show how increasing the mass of the magnesium strip can
increase the rate of reaction slightly because of the increased surface area but it is
only slightly increased on the sides and so this is proportional to the rate of reaction
of the original diagram. It is only slower than the original reaction because there is
more of it to react with and produces more of the products.
Figure 3 shows the concentration of the hydrochloric acid increased so there are
more particles to have more successful collisions. This is a faster reaction then the
original reaction.
The final reaction has the same amount of particles of acid and the magnesium, but
the magnesium has been cut to increase the surface area. This makes the acid
particles more likely to have more successful collisions each second than the original
reaction.

For many people, the word desire carries a positive connotation, bringing to mind
dreams of things that could be. In Sir Philip Sidney s poem Thou Blind Man s Mark,
however, desire is characterized not as a wistful thing, but as a dangerous compulsion
that must be stopped. Through Sidney s extensive use of figurative language and
repetition, it is made clearthat the speakerclearly despises desire due to the horrible
things desire can lead to. This expresses the idea that people must look inside

The speaker s negative attitude toward desire is established early on in the poem
as the speaker compares desire to many dreadful things in an almost ironic way.
Desire is first described as a blind man s mark, which creates a dark irony and sets
the negative tone for the rest of the poem (1). A blind man would not be able to see
his target, so therefore he would not be able to clearly aim at the target. Rather, he
must shoot blindly and hope to hit the mark, which is what desire causes people to
do. Desire can also be seen as a fool s self chosen snare, implying that those who
desire are foolish because they chose to fall into the trap of desire rather than
attempting to avoid it (1). These metaphors begin to characterize desire as foolish
and something that one cannot control. The metaphors in the next line set up the
