parameters of a PID controller in an Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) system by the approach of
Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Differential Evolution (DE) Techniques is presented. This
paper demonstrated in detail how to employ the PSO and DE methods to search efficiently the optimal
PID controller parameters of an AVR system. A MATLAB simulation has been performed. The
proposed approach had superior features, including easy implementation, stable convergence
characteristic, and good computational efficiency. In order to assist estimating the performance of the
PID controller using PSO and DE, Minimum Error Integral (MEI) criterion Integral Absolute Error
(IAE), Integral Square Error (ISE), Integral Time Absolute Error (ITAE) and Integral Time Square
Error (ITSE) are used.

Jesus Death Allusion
Immediately preceding Jesus death by crucifixion an oral tradition of recounting the story began to
take hold. Numerous scriptures in Evolution of the Word by Marcus J. Borg, the primary version of
the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) Bible that will be used in this paper, contradict each other
not only while recounting the death of Jesus but, a plethora of times while recounting his life or the
interpretations of his message. Even though scriptures contradict each other at every turn it is hardly
enough evidence to simply proclaim that the Bible is false. Oral tradition simplified is the passage of
significant events, like Jesus crucifixion, from one generation to the next via speech. Antiquity was a
time of vast illiteracy and sub par ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
the Gospel of Mark was tailored towards early Christians, the majority of which were Jewish. Roman
power had decimated the Jewish Temple and many believed that the second coming was near,
including Mark. Due to the common belief among Christians and Christian Jews that the second
coming was near Mark tailored his death narrative to appeal to his community. Mark writes in verse
15:34 that before Jesus death he cried out with a loud voice My god, my God, why have you forsaken
me? Mark uses this statement as Jesus last because he wants the Jewish Christians to better align with
Jesus. Since the Jewish Temple no longer stood, Jews felt like they were no longer in the presence of
God or that they were forsaken, which aligned them with Jesus. Doctor J. Bradley Chance a professor
at William Jewell College stated that The temple has ceased to be what it is supposed to be; rather, it
has become an instrument of exclusion of both the people of God and non Jews. Mark addresses this
by writing verses 15:37 39 which stated that upon Jesus last breath the curtain of the temple was torn
in two. By using this wording Mark is attempting to illustrate that God is no longer off limits to Non
Jews, and that God is no longer confined to the Temple. During Mark s narration of Jesus death he
was not only retelling a tragic story, he was unveiling the path to God to non Jews and Jews by using
literary devices to bring them closer to

Evaluation Of Huntington s Thesis
Evaluation of Huntington s Thesis: A Reference to Muslim and U.S. Relations
Krystal Johnson
Savannah State University Evaluation Huntington s Thesis:
A Reference to Muslim and U.S. Relations
In 1992, Samuel Huntington had suggested his idea on the Clash of Civilizations (COC) which he
later, in 1996, discussed in more detail in his book The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of
World Order (Huntington 1996). The most popular inference made from his thesis is the idea that post
Cold War conflicts will be due to cultural difference and religion rather than cooperation. Huntington
surrounds this idea around eight major civilizations which are: Western, Confucian, Japanese, Hindu,
Latin American, Islamic, Salvic Orthodox, and African (Payne 2013). However, although there are
individuals that support this idea, there have been many criticisms to Huntington s thesis. This paper
will critically evaluate Huntington s thesis in relations to the Muslim U.S. relations. Huntington refers
to certain cultures being totally different whereas the culture of the United States is not that much
different to that of the Muslim. Also, paper will address a study that provides qualitative data that
proves that Muslim U.S. cultural differences are unlikely to be the cause of conflict and other studies
show that it more likely to be caused by other situations. Huntington also fails to provide a link
between cultural characteristics and behavior as well as civilization and foreign policies.

I Shall Be Near To You Quotes
Colin Powell, former United States Secretary of State, once stated, A dream doesn t become reality
through magic; it takes sweat, determination and hard work. Many of us are dreamers; we thrive for
something different. A dream is simply an unrealistic fantasy. Some fight to make their dreams
become real, they refuse to be told no . Rosetta Wakefield, the courageous heroine of I Shall Be Near
to You, follows her husband, Jeremiah, by enlisting in the army. Erin Lindsay McCabe presents
instances where characters are faced with obstacles that conflict with achieving their dream. While
dreams are usually unattainable, all it takes is hard work and determination to achieve your dream

When one has reached a low, there are many obstacles that they have to overcome so that they can

learns that she is pregnant while at camp. She will begin to experience early pregnancy symptoms
such as morning sickness, swelling of the feet, and cramps. She will need to be in a safe, calm
environment to prepare for her baby so she must tell the general that she is a woman. Rosetta has
befriended the general s wife which helps convince the general to allow her to work in the hospital.
She chooses to stay and work because she needs to continue earning money for their dream of a farm.
While Jeremiah s friends respect Rosetta s decision of being by Jeremiah s side in battle, they have
trouble accepting that she is not like the others. They crack jokes about her being lesser because she s
a woman so Rosetta befriends them to earn their trust in hope they ll keep her secret. At the bloody

Use of Language in A Clockwork Orange Essay
Examination of the Use of Language in A Clockwork Orange
The created patch work language of Nadsat in the novel, A Clockwork Orange, satirizes the social
classes and gang life of Anthony Burgess s futuristic society. The most prominent of these tools being
his use of a completely new language and the depiction of family life from the eyes of a fifteen year
old English hoodlum. Burgess effectively broke arcane traditions when he wrote A Clockwork Orange
by blending two forms of effective speech into the vocabulary of the narrator and protagonist, Alex.
Burgess, through his character Alex, uses the common or proper method of vernacular in certain
situations, while uses his own inventive slang language ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reader would be brainwashed into learning minimal Russian. The novel was to be an exercise in
linguistic programming, with the exoticisms gradually clarified by context: I would resist to the limit
any publisher s demand that a glossary be provided. (You ve Had Your Time 38)
Burgess believed that adding a glossary to help define the slang used in A Clockwork Orange would
have somehow cheapened it, and it most certainly would have. He evens admits to brainwashing his
readers just for the sake of what he called an exercise in linguistic programming. Without even
realizing it, the readers of A Clockwork Orange were Burgess guinea pigs. It was, however, a
successful experiment. Burgess achieved the sense that he was trying to convey, and readers
understood the language without too much difficulty. That is, of course, until the book was published
in America. Roger Craik comments on this linguistic phenomina in his critical essay on A Clockwork
Orange.
Nevertheless, when the first American edition of A Clockwork Orange was published in 1963, it had
not only a glossary but an afterword by Stanley Edgar Hyman. The glossary confirms the
preponderance of Slavic based or more particularly Russian based coinages, and the afterword still
stands as the most comprehensive discussion of nadsat. Even though Hyman surprisingly confesses
himself unable to read Burgess s book without

One of the reasons that we tell ourselves that we can t achieve our goals, is because of the many

Relationship Between Centralization And Decentralization
Does adopting Centralization guarantees rises on firms productivity?
Introduction
Centralization can be explained by that authority to make important decisions lies towards the head or
centre of an organization (Cummings, 1995), the decision making actions are usually done by the top
managers in hierarchical pyramid. While Decentralization, on the contrary, aims on raising employee
empowerment and let the low level manager engages in decision making. In the modern market
circumstances, most of the firms adopt centralization as the structure of firms. However, a hierarchical
structure with a top manager, department managers, is this structure guarantees high productivity so
that many of firms in market choose to use centralization as their structure?
In light of the phenomenon, the objective of this essay will be focus on investigates the relation

Cormac Mccarthy All The Pretty Horses Analysis
Cormac McCarthy s work centers on how he leads the themes and irony of how the characters run

life, in a romantic western . The western romantic ideal was made from a unromantic reality that has
been appointed role of contemporary scholarship and culture to run away from the new ways of life
that no one wants to change. At the beginning of the novel shows a 16 year old boy named john grady

Cormac was a writer who would symbolize the characters, in this case of the All the Pretty horses
novels the horses that john and rolling had was how they were free in the world and could just run

wanted to go to Mexico to start his new life being able to live as a cowboy. John was a conflicted child
you wanted to live as a cowboy but had nowhere else to go, he had to be his own man to make his

Three Possible New Products Or New Product Line Extensions
A) List three possible new products or new product line extensions.
1) Titleist Pro V1 extra padded, slip resistant socks 2) Titleist Pro V1 t shirt 3) Titleist Pro V1 golf
grips
B) Why did you think of these products?
1)
I thought of the Titleist Pro V1 extra padded, slip resistant socks because golfers normally wear socks
that are a little higher than the shoe. On the rims of the socks that wraps around the ankle we would
have Titleist Pro V1 in big letters to promote the Titleist Pro V1 brand. Also, there is usually nothing
worse than a sock slipping off in a shoe to only find a big blister later, so having the sock be extra
padded and slip resistant is likely to ensure comfort and blister free feet.

succeeding in the market compared to the other products I ve listed above.
Question # 2:
A) Please respond to each of these considerations for the one chosen new product of your Product
Group:
1) Will it be simple to produce, using existing manufacturing systems? Titleist Pro V1 extra padded,
slip resistant socks will be fairly simple to produce using existing manufacturing systems since Titleist
already makes embroidered golf towels. Therefore, making a few tweaks like changing the towels
fabric to the socks fabric to make and embroider the rims of the socks likely wont alter the current
manufacturing systems greatly. This will likely help keep the costs to make the Titleist Pro V1 extra
padded, slip resistant socks low since the same machinery can be used. 2) What is the Selling
Proposition ? The selling proposition for this product will be Titleist Pro V1 extra padded, slip
resistant socks, designed to protect you even in harsh conditions . It s likely that whoever reads this
selling proposition will feel confident the socks will benefit their well being. The selling proposition
could also help the Titleist Pro V1 brand be seen as caring since the socks are made to help the
consumers.

Prufrock
T.S. Eliot s poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock examines a single character, Prufrock, who has
been influenced by three very different modes of thinking: Romanticism, Realism, and Modernism.
These influences cause inner conflict within the character that he struggles to overcome throughout
the course of the poem. Eliot s Prufrock is both psychologically and socially crippled because he
embodies both Romantic and Realist ideals, i.e. the heroism of the individual and the awareness of
insurmountable, objective realities, respectively, while possessing the self conscious mind of a man
influenced by a culture of Modernism. Robert Cook, in his analysis, titled Emerson s Self Reliance,
Sweeney, and Prufrock, of Ralph Emerson s self reliant man, the epitome of a Romantic, and T.S.
Eliot s Prufrock, draws a number of distinctions between the two writers. He holds that Prufrock is
Eliot s more realistic response to Emerson s idealistic man. Ron Banerjee examines the epigraph of the
poem, which is a verse from Dante s Divine Comedy, and, among other things, discovers how it
illuminates the unchangeable reality of the world around Prufrock. Romanticism heralds the heroism
and nonconformity of the noble individual. The desire to be great and known is innate to all men,
including Prufrock; however, Prufrock s crippling self consciousness disables him from breaking
away from society as the true Romantic man would strive to do. It is evident by reading the poem that

Literary Works Of H. P. Lovecraft
Murder, dark fantasy, cannibalism, aliens, monsters, and human fish hybrids are all themes in the
literary works of Howard Phillips Lovecraft. The works of H.P Lovecraft, the strange, the weird, the
improbable, mirror his own life in many ways. On August 20, 1890, Howard Phillips Lovecraft was
born in Providence, Rhode Island. He was the only child of Winfield Scott Lovecraft and Sarah Susan
Philips. In 1893, when Lovecraft was only three, mental illness took his father from him when he was
on a business trip. Lovecraft was raised by his mother, his two aunts, and his grandfather. His neurotic
mother convinced him he was ugly; it was possibly this belief but certainly his predilection for
solitude which caused him to be reclusive (Rothfield). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

findings he finds out about the Cult of Cthulhu, a secret society that worships the dark god in macabre
rites and is working to assist Cthulhu in its return. Another one of Howard s most famous works is The

Criticism In Mariette Lippo s Confirmation Names
In Confirmation Names, Mariette Lippo describes a group of girls choosing their patron saints.
Through the use of irony and syntax, the author scorns the Catholic Church s treatment towards
adolescent girls and the standards they are held under. However, when using a feminist criticism,
Lippo s disdain turns into anger towards society, not just the Catholic faith alone. When under an
archetypal criticism, the piece focuses more on the religious stereotypes of the harsh, reserved nun and
the classic rebellious Catholic schoolgirls, and thus provokes a sense of pity for the girls and an
automatic cringe worthy distaste for the nuns. Both the close reading and literary criticisms produce
new tones and shed different lights on the conflicting aspects of Confirmation Names. Initially,
Confirmation Names explains the process behind confirmation names for young Catholic girls.
However, through the use of language and literary devices, Lippo clearly presents a defiant tone
towards the way young girls are restricted in the Catholic faith. Lippo strategically addresses each
young girl in a new paragraph, reflecting Catholic nuns tones toward each young girl s vice. However,
though Lippo introduces the nuns sentiments in her piece, she also provides a sense of defiant
solidarity for the young girls by using the inclusive words we and us when interjecting herself into the
narration We studied the saints... (Lippo 1), and None of us, of course, chose Magdalen... (Lippo

Though emotional labour is a rather modern phenomenon it still occurs in the profession of nursing
which has been around for centuries. The purpose of this paper is to evaluate how nurses are obligated
to perform emotional labour and the impacts involved. This paper focuses on the different methods of
emotional labour, including surface acting and deep acting, amongst the effects and outcomes that
occur consequently. It will first analyze and explain Arlie Hochschild s theory of emotional labour.
Next it will demonstrate that nurses are constantly performing emotional labour throughout their job,
whether through surface acting or deep acting and methods involved. Then, it will demonstrate the
effects of nurses performing emotional labour and the outcomes emotional labour produces.
Emotional labour amongst its methods are heavily evident in the nursing profession and the
performance of such results in various negative consequences. This is due to the difficulties involved
in the behaviors of managing emotions in a specific manner.

Film Review of the King of Masks Essay
The King of Masks , directed by Wu Tianming, is a sentimental melodrama with many underlying
themes, one of which is the theme of love. The plot of the film, the morals that it teaches, and its
impact on the audience all revolve around love. The King of Masks centers around the old street
performer, Wang, played by Zhu Xu, who is desperately in search of a male successor to inherit his
secret art of face changing . Fate allows him to meet with Doggie, a young child whose role is
heartwarmingly played by the child actress Zhou Renying, who herself was sent away by her
impoverished family to join an acrobatic troupe at the age of 3 (Maslin, 1999). The importance of love

Another instance of this can be seen when Wang willingly buys Doggie new clothes although he
himself was poor and going through hardships as shown by his modest attire and humble riverboat
home. When Doggie falls sick and Wang does not possess enough money to buy medicine, he even
sacrifices the family treasure which had been passed down to him through generations in order to cure
her. This all shows that Wang values Doggie s life and wellbeing more than money and material
possessions no matter how important they were to him. These events foreshadow the significance of
supporting each other through frugal times, even if it includes self sacrifice. Doggie is shown to
remunerate the old performer s benevolence later on in the movie following Wu s use of
foreshadowing. The film explores the subject of mutual need which exists between the old man and
the child. The old man needs someone in his life to cure his loneliness and a heir to inherit his art
whilst the child longs for a home and compassion (Stack, 1999). Both of their needs are satisfied when
their lives cross and they begin living together in Wang s small riverboat home. Wang and Doggie s
emotional bonds shown in the initial half of the film seemed almost like that of a real grandfather and
grandson, related by blood. Doggie cooks for Wang and scratches his back, an act which is often only
exchanged between the closest of family members. Wang accepting this

The Censorship Of The Media
Despite Trump s obvious bigotry and objectively harmful policies, he has enjoyed a meteoric rise to
the face of the Republican Party in the 2015 elections. Meanwhile, the Democratic Party s nominee,
Hillary Clinton, faces a litany of allegations regarding her mishandling of classified information of an
attack on an American embassy in a foreign nation. Many late night television hosts often joke that
these two candidates are in a race that they should win because their opponent is quite obviously a
terrible choice. And yet as Americans debate the the merits of these candidates, many other countries
and their politics are disregarded. In a global economy, the ongoings of the world inform American
policy and economics. Yet Americans remain ambivalent because other countries are not debated in
the news. The news media implicitly apply filters to their coverage of news stories to inform the
public thereby creating a narrative skewed by political or financial gain to influence their viewers.
Because the media is privatized, it is difficult to recognize this propaganda system. Careful dissection
of the time and space dedicated to each story covered by the anchors between networks and
newspapers highlights this discrepancy.
A cursory examination into ABC World News and NBC Nightly News reveals a conscious decision to
dedicate increasing amounts of time to self identified feel good stories and minimize coverage of the
civil unrest in Yemen, the Syrian refugee crisis, and the

Saturated Fat And Unsaturated Fats
1. A transverse plane is any horizontal plane that divides the body into superior and inferior sections.
To give an ultrasound on a woman carrying a child, the child is being carried in the front of the
abdomen. The correct plane used is the frontal plane. The frontal plane divides the body into ventral
and dorsal sections. 2. Negative feedback is a feedback that causes a stimulus to end. The stimulus in
this case is the itch. When you sense the itch, your body reacts to scratching it. When you scratch the
itch, the itch is revealed, therefore ending the stimulus and making scratching an itch negative
feedback. 3. Although both fats are in many foods, most unsaturated fats are more beneficial to your
heart, whereas many saturated fats can cause damage to your cholesterol and your heart. Some
examples of saturated fats are meats, dairy and pastries. Saturated fats contain hydrogen atoms and
have fatty acid chains with single covalent bonds between carbon atoms. At room temperature,
saturated fats are solid. Unsaturated fats are nuts, olives, and avocados. Unsaturated fats have fatty
acid chains that contain one or more double bonds between carbon atoms. At room temperature,
unsaturated fats are liquid. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Journal #7 Pride and Prejudice
JOURNAL # 7 PRIDE AND PREJUDICE
The proposal scene in Chapter 34 (quote from here) is one of the most famous passages in all of
English literature. It represents very well the two main themes of the novel that appear in the title:
pride and prejudice. First, look up and define each word: pride and prejudice. Then respond to the
following questions.
Pride: satisfaction derived from one s own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is
closely associated.
Prejudice: a preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience.
Part One: Darcy s pride and prejudice
a. Explain how Darcy demonstrates pride during the proposal scene; use quotes from Chapter 34 to
support your claim and EXPLAIN how the quotes support it.
Even though Mr. Darcy had the best intentions when he proposed to Elizabeth, his word choice was
not the best. The narrator describes his dialect in the following quote, He spoke well; but there were
feelings besides those of the heart to be detailed; and he was no more eloquent on the subject of
tenderness than of pride. His sense of her inferiority of it being a degradation... (Austen 34). He must
find it sweet and heartwarming that he is choosing to lower his social class for love, but he also seems
to imply that he is better than her. Elizabeth feels insulted that he would say something like that to her.
She responds to Mr. Darcy by saying, You chose to tell me that you liked me against your reason,
against your will, and even against your character? (Austen 34). To her it probably seems like he is
settling for her, when it comes to her social status.
b. Explain how Darcy demonstrates prejudice during the proposal scene; use quotes from Chapter 34
to support your claim and EXPLAIN how the quotes support it
Elizabeth calls out Mr. Darcy on his prejudice towards Mr. Wickham. Instead of paying attention to
the type of person he is, Mr.Darcy makes it seems like his current financial situation defines him.
Elizabeth states the following in the heated argument between her and Mr. Darcy, You have reduced
him to his present state of poverty, comparative poverty. You have

Another Boring Assembly Was In The Making As I Walked Into
Another boring assembly was in the making as I walked into my junior high school gymnasium. My
best friend at the time, Kelsey, was very excited because the Valencia high school color guard was
going to perform one of their routines in an attempt to get people to join the team. She was already on
the guard, hence her motivation to attend this assembly. Before this point, I did not know color guard
even existed. According to Kelsey, color guard is a performing art in which a team performs a dance
routine centered around the use of flags, rifles, and sabers. Both her insistence and the awe inspiring
performance of the guard moved me to join the team my freshman year of high school. Even though
we did not win at championships, it was overall ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the end, we did not get into the top tier and did not win any awards that year. The head instructors
even chose to not criticize me for my drastic mistake, for they all knew it was all over and I was in a
dismal state of mind anyway. From that championship on, I had to work especially hard to reclaim the
trust of my instructors. Looking back, I can see now how hard it is to get someone s trust back once it
is lost. I practiced relentlessly throughout high school and was the best person on the saber line. Or I
would have been the best, but I could never be consistent, which is one of the most important skills to
have in color guard. I would throw my saber and catch a difficult toss ten times in a row perfectly,
then the next day drop it three times. Due to the inconsistency, as well as my history of crumbling
under pressure, my instructors would not allow me another solo toss on my color guard team again.
My experience has left a scar in my mind, to which I owe my persistence to not make promises I
cannot keep. The best way to keep someone s trust is to not break your promises to them. I
inadvertently made a promise to my instructors that they could trust me to catch my toss in our show
when all focus is centered on me. I let them down, therefore I was left to deal with the consequences.
Due to my hard work, I eventually came to prove to my instructors that I could toss beautiful tosses,

Unpaved Roads In Ancient Rome
The importance of the paved and unpaved roads leading out of the heart of Rome was crucial to the
spread, advancement, and growth of the Empire from where the roads came from (Beers, World
history: patterns of civilization, 1993, pp.115). These roads were built from about 300 BC through the
expansion and consolidation of the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire (Forbes, Robert J. Studies
in Ancient Technology. Leiden: Brill, 1993. Print). Roman roads were a part of the development of the
Roman state. Roads were also a visible indicator of the might of Rome, and they helped unify what
was a vast melting pot of cultures, races, and institutions. The Roman road system spanned more than
400,000 km of roads, including over 80,500 km of paved roads. When Rome reached the height of its
power, no fewer than 29 great military highways radiated from the city. ( Roads in Ancient Rome

For this reason many roads began and ended in a triumphal arch, and the imperial official associated

day, stretching from Spain, Britain, France, Italy, Asia Minor, Greece, Palestine, Egypt, and North
Africa. The Romans planned and built these networks of roads that reached the far corners of their
empire, and connected them to the Roman Capital City. (Fisher, World history for Christian schools,

Transaction Processing Systems ( Tps )
ONE.
To start a business, businesses must conduct the business targets and raise the capital through business
processes. They must deal with all of suppliers, customers, products and services, etc. Business
processes are defined as a set of activities that will complete specific organization goals for particular
customers. A firm well organized business process can demonstrate through the ability of organizing
work activities, managing information, and improving production technology.
With today new technology, information system is a set of collecting, processing, storing, and
distributing information to support and control an organization. Information system makes it possible
for firms to manage their information to make better decisions and speed up the accomplishment of
business processes. In order to use information systems effectively, one needs to understand the
fundamental organization, management, and information technology of the information systems.

Difference Between Linguistic And Linguistic Studies
In the following essay, I am going to present a comparison between two linguistic studies.
Constructing another Language Usage Based Linguistics in Second Language Acquisition by
Eskildsen and Sources of Linguistic Knowledge in the second language acquisition of English articles
by Ionin, Zubizarreta, and Maldonado are going to be contrasted regarding their theoretical
frameworks, research questions and research designs together with the conclusions reached.
Reading the two studies, certain conclusions regarding their theoretical framework can be drawn. The
first article provides Usage Based linguistics view of language learning as mainly based on experience
and item, with particular formulas used at the beginning and then resulting to general constructions
(e.g. Dabrowska 2000; Tomasello 2003; Dabroswka and Lieven 2005). On the other hand, Ionin,
Zubbizarreta, and Maldonado, study adopts a theoretical framework that primarily focuses on the
aspects of linguistic knowledge, namely the L2 input, L1 transfer and the inherent linguistic
knowledge (Universal Grammar) that influence the acquisition of English articles by second language
learners.
Each of the studies also examine research questions related to their domains. The first one explores the
relationship between the application of Usage Based linguistics and issues in second language
acquisition, as well as how type and token frequencies used by learners can reflect schematicity of
learner language representation

Chuang Tzu s Basic Writings Essay
Chuang Tzu s Basic Writings, with his idea of the way which is effortless and ineffable, seem to
suggest a minimalist take on government. The Daoist philosophy present in the text has no room for
organized hierarchy or unified morality in the understanding of the world. This leaves no room for
government whose laws and bureaucracy are based on codified morality and hierarchy. The
government must also allow its citizens to practice the wu wei, which means the government would
have to allow individual freedom. Thus the only suitable form of government following the way
would be a limited structure emphasizing individual morality essentially a libertarian form of
government. There is a lack of hierarchy in Chuang Tzu s Daoism due to the belief in the
indistinguishable position of the individual to the rest of humanity and humanity to all the world. This
is evident in The Dream and The Butterfly in which Chuang Tzu shows that the perspective of a
human is no truer than the perspective of a butterfly. In the fable, Chuang Tzu s questioning of which
organism is the reality and which is the dream blurs the distinction between humanity and nature. This
is consistent with Chuang Tzu s belief that humanity is one with nature, meaning that human
government should reflect the form of hierarchy present in the natural world. Such a belief in the most
natural sense of hierarchy would at first suggest that the way is a path of egalitarianism; however, this
belief that, in nature,

The World Is Changing And The Environment

The world is changing and the environment we are living in is becoming very competitive by the day.
Considering the work environment of this changing world, both the employees and employers at the
workplace are facing a lot of risk issues, regarding this rapid change in the economy and society
followed by the overpowering competition. In order to sustain in the business market and meet the
consumer demands, the organizations and the employers are required to come up with new methods
and unbeatable prices of products. Moreover due to the emergence of globalisation, these
organizations are bound to apply cost cutting approach (lower wage approach), which influences the
shifts in workforce composition, labour utilization and labour demand. (Rani, 2000) This shift leads to
what can be defined as labour flexibility . According to Standing (1999), the term can be defined as a
rise in new technologies, development of more complex labour control structures, participation of
labours throughout the world with the help of globalisation.
The more complex definitions and theories of labour flexibility will be discussed later in this essay. I
am writing this essay to portray how labour flexibility has given rise to international human resource
management and how globalization plays a vital role in the emergence of the former two concepts. In
my essay I will first introduce globalization, since it has been a very important topic of discussion in

for determining the center of mass of each state is split up into five steps. The first two, file conversion
and sorting, gave a huge amount of raw data, and then condensed it into a workable form. The third
step converted latitude and longitude coordinates into kilometers. The fourth step took the trapezoids
formed by the previous steps and calculated their moments with respect to the x and y axis s. Finally,
the conversions were reversed to give the center of mass. All of the states were downloaded as
shapefiles from the National Boundary Dataset maintained by the USGS. Then then the .shp files were
converted to .kmz with ArcMap10.4, and then converted to .kml with Google Earth. Then the
approximately 30,000 latitude and longitude coordinates for each state were saved as a .txt file and
imported into Excel. The shapefiles gave a coordinate approximately every 400 meters along straight
edges of states, and approximately every 200 meters along rivers and other curved features, and went
out to the eighth decimal place. The territorial seas of costal states which extend three nautical miles
out from the low water mark, and the state boundaries that extend into the Great Lakes and other

The Relationship Between Randomness And Correlation...
Whether or not it is noticed, there are numerous examples of variability in day to day life.
Randomness can take many forms, but one such example is in the sport of soccer. The same two teams
could play the same game against each other five times and each game could have a different score
with both teams being able to win at least once. There must be a reason for inconsistencies like this.
That is randomness and variability. For sure, each team has its own players with their own skills, but
when it comes down to it, there s a level of randomness in the sport that can often mean the difference
between a team winning or losing. Even generally speaking, the sport has randomness in it that has no
hugely perceivable on the outcome of the game, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, in the odd chance that there were no major delays of the game in professional soccer, the
total time of the first half may be 44 minutes and 59 seconds and 10 milliseconds and so on. It is
highly unlikely that play will commence for exactly 40 minutes, no more, no less.
It can also be taken into account that delays are very common in the sport. Say a game time was set at
6:00 p.m., but a rain delay caused it to start at 6:10 instead. Many factors can affect the timing of
soccer. Another great example is the fact that at the end of the game the referee allows for make up
play. In Major League soccer lost time during played is made up after the 90 minutes had been spent.
It is not uncommon to see famous players, like Cristiano Ronaldo, flop on the ground and milk an
injury after an opposing player barely bumped them. This causes a major interruption of play and can
cost minutes off of the clock. Brawls, streakers , injuries, and weather all affect the time span of a
game. In order to make up for what was lost, the referee allots extra time after the 90 minutes has
expired. This time is supposed to make up for all of the delays. However, the extra time given almost
never truly matches the amount of time lost. Say during the game there was a roughly 5 minute
recovery period for an injured player, a 7 minute

Figurative Language In Erik Larson s Devil In The White City
A Tale of Two Cities
Serbian poet, Dejan Stojanovic, once stated, Devil and God two sides of the same face. When looking
at Chicago during the Columbian Exposition, there were two sides of Chicago known as the white city
and the black city. The white city was the fairgrounds where the World Fair occurred. The black city,
however, is the rest of Chicago where the crime, poverty, disease, and filth was represented. Erik
Larson constructs the black and white city in Devil in the White City by incorporating figurative
language, imagery, and juxtaposition.
One of Erik Larson s main ways of building the black and white cities is through figurative language.

Using descriptive diction such as eerie and swamp readers can imagine an unpleasant city rustling
with filth and crime. Larson exposes that Chicago had auras of mosquitoes in its midst. Readers
automatically see Chicago as a filthy and troublesome town when they associate it with mosquitoes.
This view of Chicago created by Larson further achieves his purpose to show the downside of
Chicago during the time the World Fair was being constructed and attended. When the World Fair was
finished, Larson described the nights, the lamps that laced every building and walkway produced the
most elaborate demonstration of electric illumination ever attempted (254). Larson says the lamps
laced the walkways in the white city which allows readers to picture the city in a whimsical way. The
feeling of the word laced sits with readers in a positive way. Thus, Larson can achieve the purpose of
forcing readers to see the white city in a luxurious fashion. Also, Larson mentions that the lighting was
elaborate. Readers see the white city as a sophisticated and lavish place rather than how they see the
black city. Larson again is able to persuade readers into believing the magic of the white city. Larson
calls upon imagery to construct the two sides of Chicago. Larson deploys juxtaposition to build the
two views of Chicago. Larson

Diversity In The Media Analysis
Mainstream media is the single most influential aspect of American culture, and it s failing all the
people that consume it. While the majority of viewers are perfectly satisfied with what they re being
fed, they re only getting empty calories. They don t know they re starving. But minority groups can
feel the hunger pangs, and they know exactly what will satisfy them: diversity. America is missing out
on its biggest, and most readily available, way to positively change society, and it doesn t have to be
that way. In order to gain acceptance for minority groups, all the mainstream media needs to do is
focus on diverse characters, treat those characters with the respect, and keep them on as quasi

There s a TV show, and it not only includes a black, female character, but she s accurately portrayed

media. A creator will add a diverse character, only to remove them when either there s an audience

diversity quota is reached, and it s no longer necessary to represent a certain group through an
important character because another group is going to be represented through a different character.
Why can t both characters be part of the show? That s the diversity quota in action. It makes creators
and majority viewers uncomfortable when the people like them are outnumbered, or even in danger of
being outnumbered eventually, so the number of diverse characters is minimized and many of them

How to Build an Emergency Fund
Whether or not you call it an emergency or rainy day fund it is all the same.
Basically, it is a pot of money set aside just in case something happens that is unforeseen i.e., a job

During the economic crisis this was some people s only and best line of defense against the loss of

Emergencies are part of life. Being prepared could make all the difference.
What is an emergency fund?

Benefits of having emergency savings
You are less likely to make bad financial decisions. I am sure no one wants to let the lack of money
cause them to make bad decisions. No knee jerk reactions required if funds are set in reserve. Read
about finances, save, then invest. When you know better you do better.
Less stress is a huge benefit. High stress can trigger all types of health problems from headaches to
heart disease. An emergency fund can help alleviate stressors as these.
Being able to help others. You can now volunteer, donate, or help family and friends when people are
in need. Helping others makes you feel good too. This is also a stress reliever. How much should you
have in an emergency savings?
I recommend 3 12 months worth of expenses. I have a preference for 8 months because when I lost
my job during the recession it took me that long to land a new job.
You should start with a specific goal in mind such as $500 and continue saving from there. NerdWallet
columnist, Liz Weston says $500 is a good place to start, will get you out of most predicaments, and
usually keep you out of the hole.

A bolt action rifle is a very reliable, and very useful tool that was invented in 1824 by Johann
Nikolaus von Dreyse. The bolt action rifle has been used for hunting, protection, and has proved to be
a reliable weapon for military use in the defense of our country. The United States purchased 900 bolt
action rifles in 1862 which were used in the American Civil War at the battle of Antietam. These rifles
were single shot, paper cartridges that proved to be much faster in reloading than the muzzle loading
rifle previously used by American troops. Since then, America has used these rifles in nearly every
war fought. It wasn t until 1874 when the French began bolt action rifle production of their own, that
metal cartridges were invented and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While the bolt is being rotated upward, the firing pin is also rotating into a locking mechanism as a
safety feature. The firing pin is the needle looking rod that strikes the butt of the shell and ignites the
primer compound. After rotating the bolt all the way upward, pull the bolt all the way back until you
can no longer move it. This action ejects the previous shell and the chamber is now empty and ready
to receive the next shell. If the rifle is a single shot bolt action, now is when a new cartridge will need
to be manually inserted into the open chamber of the rifle. Then the bolt is pushed all the way forward
which loads the new shell into the chamber. If the rifle is an internal or an external magazine fed rifle,
the bolt will strip the next round from the magazine and push it forward until it is locked into the
firing chamber. Now, push the bolt all the way down. This action locks the shell in the chamber with
what are called locking lugs attached to the rotating receiver. This will lock the bullet in the chamber
and free the firing pin. Release the safety on the rifle which will be located either on or near the trigger
guard or on top of rifle back where the stock and metal action of the rifle meet. The rifle is now ready

The Global Cruise Ship Industry
It is the first day of your Caribbean cruise vacation and you are overwhelmed with excitement. After
months of anticipation you have arrived at the port of embarkation only to be welcomed by a line that
circles around the arrival lounge. (Fig.1) Undenounced to a rookie in the game of cruise ship travel,
this lengthy embarkation line is only the first to be encountered in every port to be visited while on
cruise. This is only the first hiccup while on what is supposed to be the stress free vacation you have
been anticipating. As ship capacities increase along with passenger attendance, regular customer
service operations are taking longer than usual to process. The recent enhanced developments within
these processes are ancient for luxury ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Given the expected growth within the cruise ship industry it is understandable that the investment in
new technology to remain competitive in the market is imminent. Which is why the cohesion of the
passenger s smart devices and the total cruise ship experience will give the competitive edge in this
progressing market.
The chart below proves that the demographics of passengers that bored a cruise ship are the most
susceptible to the implementation of smart technology thus helping to alleviate the problems
encountered while aboard. (Fig. 2)
Cruise Passenger Demographic Statistics Data
Average age of a cruise passenger 50 +
Average household earnings $109,000
Percent of passengers who are college graduates 86 %
Percent who are married and work full time 62 %
Percent of people age 25+ with earnings of $40,000+ who have taken a cruise 44.6 %
Percent of the total US population who have taken a cruise 19.9 %
Average spent per person per week on their cruise $1,770
Average spent per person per week on a non cruise vacation $1,200
Fig. 2
Market Analysis
The table reveals that passengers are normally older, educated, financially stable, which leads to the
assumption that they are well versed in technology and would be willing to use the RFID s if they
were to be implemented. The passengers are also willing to spend more money than they would on a
conventional vacation, and that in itself sets up the expectation for a seamless

Borg, the primary version of the New Revised Standard Version (NRSV) Bible that will be used in this paper, contradict each other not only while recounting the death of Jesus but, a plethora of times while recounting his life or the interpretations of his message. Even though scriptures contradict each other at every turn it is hardly enough evidence to simply proclaim that the Bible is false. Oral tradition simplified is the passage of significant events, like Jesus crucifixion, from one generation to the next via speech. Antiquity was a time of vast illiteracy and sub par ... Due to the common belief among Christians and Christian Jews that the second coming was near Mark tailored his death narrative to appeal to his community. Mark writes in verse 15:34 that before Jesus death he cried out with a loud voice My god, my God, why have you forsaken me? Mark uses this statement as Jesus last because he wants the Jewish Christians to better align with Jesus. Since the Jewish Temple no longer stood, Jews felt like they were no longer in the presence of God or that they were forsaken, which aligned them with Jesus. Doctor J. Bradley Chance a professor at William Jewell College stated that The temple has ceased to be what it is supposed to be; rather, it has become an instrument of exclusion of both the people of God and non Jews. Mark addresses this by writing verses 15:37 39 which stated that upon Jesus last breath the curtain of the temple was torn in two. By using this wording Mark is attempting to illustrate that God is no longer off limits to Non Jews, and that God is no longer confined to the Temple. During Mark s narration of Jesus death he was not only retelling a tragic story, he was unveiling the path to God to non Jews and Jews by using literary devices to bring them closer to ... Evaluation Of Huntington s Thesis Evaluation of Huntington s Thesis: A Reference to Muslim and U.S. Relations Krystal Johnson Savannah State University Evaluation Huntington s Thesis: A Reference to Muslim and U.S. Relations In 1992, Samuel Huntington had suggested his idea on the Clash of Civilizations (COC) which he later, in 1996, discussed in more detail in his book The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order (Huntington 1996). The most popular inference made from his thesis is the idea that post Cold War conflicts will be due to cultural difference and religion rather than cooperation. Huntington surrounds this idea around eight major civilizations which are: Western, Confucian, Japanese, Hindu, Latin American, Islamic, Salvic Orthodox, and African (Payne 2013). However, although there are individuals that support this idea, there have been many criticisms to Huntington s thesis. This paper will critically evaluate Huntington s thesis in relations to the Muslim U.S. relations. Huntington refers to certain cultures being totally different whereas the culture of the United States is not that much different to that of the Muslim. Also, paper will address a study that provides qualitative data that proves that Muslim U.S. cultural differences are unlikely to be the cause of conflict and other studies show that it more likely to be caused by other situations. Huntington also fails to provide a link between cultural characteristics and behavior as well as civilization and foreign policies. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 14. Prufrock T.S. Eliot s poem The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock examines a single character, Prufrock, who has been influenced by three very different modes of thinking: Romanticism, Realism, and Modernism. These influences cause inner conflict within the character that he struggles to overcome throughout the course of the poem. Eliot s Prufrock is both psychologically and socially crippled because he embodies both Romantic and Realist ideals, i.e. the heroism of the individual and the awareness of insurmountable, objective realities, respectively, while possessing the self conscious mind of a man influenced by a culture of Modernism. Robert Cook, in his analysis, titled Emerson s Self Reliance, Sweeney, and Prufrock, of Ralph Emerson s self reliant man, the epitome of a Romantic, and T.S. Eliot s Prufrock, draws a number of distinctions between the two writers. He holds that Prufrock is Eliot s more realistic response to Emerson s idealistic man. Ron Banerjee examines the epigraph of the poem, which is a verse from Dante s Divine Comedy, and, among other things, discovers how it illuminates the unchangeable reality of the world around Prufrock. Romanticism heralds the heroism and nonconformity of the noble individual. The desire to be great and known is innate to all men, including Prufrock; however, Prufrock s crippling self consciousness disables him from breaking away from society as the true Romantic man would strive to do. • 16. Criticism In Mariette Lippo s Confirmation Names In Confirmation Names, Mariette Lippo describes a group of girls choosing their patron saints. Through the use of irony and syntax, the author scorns the Catholic Church s treatment towards adolescent girls and the standards they are held under. However, when using a feminist criticism, Lippo s disdain turns into anger towards society, not just the Catholic faith alone. When under an archetypal criticism, the piece focuses more on the religious stereotypes of the harsh, reserved nun and the classic rebellious Catholic schoolgirls, and thus provokes a sense of pity for the girls and an automatic cringe worthy distaste for the nuns. Both the close reading and literary criticisms produce new tones and shed different lights on the conflicting aspects of Confirmation Names. Initially, Confirmation Names explains the process behind confirmation names for young Catholic girls. However, through the use of language and literary devices, Lippo clearly presents a defiant tone towards the way young girls are restricted in the Catholic faith. Lippo strategically addresses each young girl in a new paragraph, reflecting Catholic nuns tones toward each young girl s vice. However, though Lippo introduces the nuns sentiments in her piece, she also provides a sense of defiant solidarity for the young girls by using the inclusive words we and us when interjecting herself into the narration We studied the saints... It represents very well the two main themes of the novel that appear in the title: pride and prejudice. First, look up and define each word: pride and prejudice. Then respond to the following questions. Pride: satisfaction derived from one s own achievements, the achievements of those with whom one is closely associated. Prejudice: a preconceived opinion that is not based on reason or actual experience. Part One: Darcy s pride and prejudice a. Explain how Darcy demonstrates pride during the proposal scene; use quotes from Chapter 34 to support your claim and EXPLAIN how the quotes support it. Even though Mr. Darcy had the best intentions when he proposed to Elizabeth, his word choice was not the best. The narrator describes his dialect in the following quote, He spoke well; but there were feelings besides those of the heart to be detailed; and he was no more eloquent on the subject of tenderness than of pride. His sense of her inferiority of it being a degradation... (Austen 34). He must find it sweet and heartwarming that he is choosing to lower his social class for love, but he also seems to imply that he is better than her. Elizabeth feels insulted that he would say something like that to her. She responds to Mr. Darcy by saying, You chose to tell me that you liked me against your reason, against your will, and even against your character? (Austen 34). To her it probably seems like he is settling for her, when it comes to her social status. b. Unpaved Roads In Ancient Rome The importance of the paved and unpaved roads leading out of the heart of Rome was crucial to the spread, advancement, and growth of the Empire from where the roads came from (Beers, World history: patterns of civilization, 1993, pp.115). These roads were built from about 300 BC through the expansion and consolidation of the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire (Forbes, Robert J. Studies in Ancient Technology. Leiden: Brill, 1993. Roads were also a visible indicator of the might of Rome, and they helped unify what was a vast melting pot of cultures, races, and institutions. The Roman road system spanned more than 400,000 km of roads, including over 80,500 km of paved roads. Constructing another Language Usage Based Linguistics in Second Language Acquisition by Eskildsen and Sources of Linguistic Knowledge in the second language acquisition of English articles by Ionin, Zubizarreta, and Maldonado are going to be contrasted regarding their theoretical frameworks, research questions and research designs together with the conclusions reached. Reading the two studies, certain conclusions regarding their theoretical framework can be drawn. The first article provides Usage Based linguistics view of language learning as mainly based on experience and item, with particular formulas used at the beginning and then resulting to general constructions (e.g. Dabrowska 2000; Tomasello 2003; Dabroswka and Lieven 2005). On the other hand, Ionin, Zubbizarreta, and Maldonado, study adopts a theoretical framework that primarily focuses on the aspects of linguistic knowledge, namely the L2 input, L1 transfer and the inherent linguistic knowledge (Universal Grammar) that influence the acquisition of English articles by second language learners. Each of the studies also examine research questions related to their domains. The first one explores the relationship between the application of Usage Based linguistics and issues in second language acquisition, as well as how type and token frequencies used by learners can reflect schematicity of learner language representation ... • 32. Chuang Tzu s Basic Writings Essay Chuang Tzu s Basic Writings, with his idea of the way which is effortless and ineffable, seem to suggest a minimalist take on government. The Daoist philosophy present in the text has no room for organized hierarchy or unified morality in the understanding of the world. This leaves no room for government whose laws and bureaucracy are based on codified morality and hierarchy. The government must also allow its citizens to practice the wu wei, which means the government would have to allow individual freedom. Thus the only suitable form of government following the way would be a limited structure emphasizing individual morality essentially a libertarian form of government. There is a lack of hierarchy in Chuang Tzu s Daoism due to the belief in the indistinguishable position of the individual to the rest of humanity and humanity to all the world. This is evident in The Dream and The Butterfly in which Chuang Tzu shows that the perspective of a human is no truer than the perspective of a butterfly. In the fable, Chuang Tzu s questioning of which organism is the reality and which is the dream blurs the distinction between humanity and nature. This is consistent with Chuang Tzu s belief that humanity is one with nature, meaning that human government should reflect the form of hierarchy present in the natural world. Such a belief in the most natural sense of hierarchy would at first suggest that the way is a path of egalitarianism; however, this belief that, in nature, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In order to sustain in the business market and meet the consumer demands, the organizations and the employers are required to come up with new methods and unbeatable prices of products. Moreover due to the emergence of globalisation, these organizations are bound to apply cost cutting approach (lower wage approach), which influences the shifts in workforce composition, labour utilization and labour demand. (Rani, 2000) This shift leads to what can be defined as labour flexibility . According to Standing (1999), the term can be defined as a rise in new technologies, development of more complex labour control structures, participation of labours throughout the world with the help of globalisation. The more complex definitions and theories of labour flexibility will be discussed later in this essay. Geographic Center Of The United States GEOGRAPHIC CENTER OF THE UNITED STATES MATH 166 Ian Gilley, Kelvin Brandl, Kayla Muehlhauser, Nathan Koehler, Justin Ebnet, Kylie Bentz Our method for determining the center of mass of each state is split up into five steps. The first two, file conversion and sorting, gave a huge amount of raw data, and then condensed it into a workable form. The third step converted latitude and longitude coordinates into kilometers. The fourth step took the trapezoids formed by the previous steps and calculated their moments with respect to the x and y axis s. Finally, the conversions were reversed to give the center of mass. All of the states were downloaded as shapefiles from the National Boundary Dataset maintained by the USGS. Then then the .shp files were converted to .kmz with ArcMap10.4, and then converted to .kml with Google Earth. Then the approximately 30,000 latitude and longitude coordinates for each state were saved as a .txt file and imported into Excel. The shapefiles gave a coordinate approximately every 400 meters along straight edges of states, and approximately every 200 meters along rivers and other curved features, and went out to the eighth decimal place. • 35. The Relationship Between Randomness And Correlation... Whether or not it is noticed, there are numerous examples of variability in day to day life. Randomness can take many forms, but one such example is in the sport of soccer. The same two teams could play the same game against each other five times and each game could have a different score with both teams being able to win at least once. There must be a reason for inconsistencies like this. That is randomness and variability. For sure, each team has its own players with their own skills, but when it comes down to it, there s a level of randomness in the sport that can often mean the difference between a team winning or losing. Even generally speaking, the sport has randomness in it that has no hugely perceivable on the outcome of the game, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For instance, in the odd chance that there were no major delays of the game in professional soccer, the total time of the first half may be 44 minutes and 59 seconds and 10 milliseconds and so on. It is highly unlikely that play will commence for exactly 40 minutes, no more, no less. It can also be taken into account that delays are very common in the sport. Say a game time was set at 6:00 p.m., but a rain delay caused it to start at 6:10 instead. Many factors can affect the timing of soccer. Another great example is the fact that at the end of the game the referee allows for make up play. In Major League soccer lost time during played is made up after the 90 minutes had been spent. It is not uncommon to see famous players, like Cristiano Ronaldo, flop on the ground and milk an injury after an opposing player barely bumped them. This causes a major interruption of play and can cost minutes off of the clock. Brawls, streakers , injuries, and weather all affect the time span of a game. In order to make up for what was lost, the referee allots extra time after the 90 minutes has expired. This time is supposed to make up for all of the delays. However, the extra time given almost never truly matches the amount of time lost. Say during the game there was a roughly 5 minute recovery period for an injured player, a 7 minute ... When looking at Chicago during the Columbian Exposition, there were two sides of Chicago known as the white city and the black city. The white city was the fairgrounds where the World Fair occurred. The black city, however, is the rest of Chicago where the crime, poverty, disease, and filth was represented. Erik Larson constructs the black and white city in Devil in the White City by incorporating figurative language, imagery, and juxtaposition. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Using descriptive diction such as eerie and swamp readers can imagine an unpleasant city rustling with filth and crime. Larson exposes that Chicago had auras of mosquitoes in its midst. Readers automatically see Chicago as a filthy and troublesome town when they associate it with mosquitoes. When the World Fair was finished, Larson described the nights, the lamps that laced every building and walkway produced the most elaborate demonstration of electric illumination ever attempted (254). Larson says the lamps laced the walkways in the white city which allows readers to picture the city in a whimsical way. The feeling of the word laced sits with readers in a positive way. Thus, Larson can achieve the purpose of forcing readers to see the white city in a luxurious fashion. Also, Larson mentions that the lighting was elaborate. Readers see the white city as a sophisticated and lavish place rather than how they see the black city. Larson again is able to persuade readers into believing the magic of the white city.
