teach the students a song with a visual aid, that they will sing along with.
Upon completion of the song the student will receive a gold star for
participation

S: This class of Kindergarten students will be introduced to the basic Geometric
shapes through a PowerPoint presentation and sing-a-long. Each student will be
required to participate in the sing-a-long by either singing or clapping/stopping.
S: visual (PowerPoint), auditory leaners will benefit from this lesson through the
slideshow and song. This class will have mastered their knowledge of the basic
Geometric shapes with 100% accuracy by the end of the week.
U: PowerPoint and Poster
R: Students must participate in sing-a-long in order to receive gold star.
E: Students evaluated by their ability to follow directions and stay on task.
2. Learning Shapes
Kindergarten
Objective: This class of kindergarten students will know
and be able to recognize the five shapes consisting of
a rectangle, square, circle, triangle and octagon as well
as where they are found in their daily lives through a
PowerPoint designed by the teacher. This knowledge
will be mastered at the end of the week through a
recognition test with 100 percent accuracy.
- each day a new shape will be introduced, I will show
how to draw it (the students will mimic the drawing on
their own paper), we will then have a discussion about
where the students have seen this shape and I will
present some images of this shape in their everyday
lives.
-technology: computer and smart board if available

the shapes. This class will have mastered their knowledge of the basic Geometric shapes
with 100% accuracy by the end of the week.
S: creative and visual learners as well as auditory learners are represented in this lesson
U: Shape Pizza (Pinterest) Video (Youtube)
R: Each student is required to create their classmates order of their “shape pizza” and hop

S: This class of Kindergarten students will explore Secondlife with the teacher and
recognize the different shapes represented in a real like scenario. Each child will be
asked about a particular shape and will be expected to correctly identify it. This
class will have mastered their knowledge of the basic Geometric shapes with 100%
accuracy by the end of the week.
