Write interpretations and word associations of
the theme

- The battle with what/who?
- Who/ What are they battling?
- Why are they battling?
- Will they triumph and win their battle?
- What types of battles are there?
TASK- Research images to inspire you
• Find at least 10 images to inspire your story and write underneath
how you have been inspired by them.
How does your story begin?
• Write an outline of the
opening of your story
What is the big conflict/ battle in the middle?
• Underneath your beginning write
the middle of your story
How is it resolved?
• Write the ending to your story
in your outline.
Research TASK-
• Using the theme conduct research into secondary sources:
- Other films that use the theme “the battle”
- History/ psychology/ nature/ relationships or anything that relates to
your story themes and the battle you have chosen.
- Put together your research notes e.g What and where you found
information and what you have learnt from it.
Start a folder for your planning portfolio
• Ensure you place your story outline in your planning portfolio.
• Place your research into your folder too.
