• Helen Bruce
• Before becoming a teacher I worked in the film and
media industry for 8 years, I have worked as a
course leader on courses from level 1-4 and I have
recently edited several documentaries and won
awards for some of my short films.

• Analyse 3 other TV examples (10 minutes each
clip 1 live TV show and 2 VTs)
• Ideas generation and experimentation (show
working out of ideas)
• Research for pre-production planning
• Practical research (trying out techniques)
Task 2: Communicating your ideas
• Demonstrate and
communicate your ideas
in various plans

Creating a
Magazine Show
A show that reports on
particular subjects for
example: current
events, entertainment,
games, history, etc.
They include at least
1 presenter but
usually 2.
They have pre-
recorded inserts
known as VTs
which relate to
the content of
the show.
They often have
a live audience.
They are usually
broadcast live but
can be pre-
recorded as live.
They are filmed in
the studio but they
often have
roaming reporters
on location.
Usually they have
on guests that
they interview in
different styles
appropriate to the
show.
They can have special
features such as; guest
spots, experts, quizzes
, phone ins, audience
participation.
