Luke Finlay evaluated his work on a magazine project. He researched similar magazines like Q and NME to understand their content, design elements, and target audiences. Based on his research, he decided to model his magazine after NME since it was less formal and appealed more to his target demographic. For pre-production, he wrote an article and took photos that he would include. He then selected and edited the final photos for the cover, contents page, and double page spread. During production, he assembled the magazine pages in Illustrator and Photoshop, including the front cover, contents page, and double page spread.

2. Research
 For the research part of this task I read a
lot of magazines of a similar genre and
target audience of the magazine I was
planning to do. I looked at magazine’s
such as Q and NME to see what type of
content, pictures, colours etc. are used in
these types of magazines. I based my
research on the front cover, contents
page and double page spread.

4.  After reading and doing research on both
magazines I decided to base mine ore like
NME as it is less formal and aimed more to a
target audience that I am part of so I
thought it’d be easier to do work on that
basis as I could just add content that would
interest me personally.

5.  I then had to research the different parts
and components of a magazine. I had to
learn what was on every magazine cover,
contents page and double page spread
to make sure my magazine had all these
components and it looked more
professional.

7. Pre - Production
 For pre – production work I had to write
an article for a double page spread and
take some pictures for my magazine.

10.  I then chose the three final pictures I
wanted for my cover, contents page and
double page spread and edited them
with photoshop
