Twitter
Purpose:
Twitter mission statement states their purpose is to be able to give power to be able
share different ideas and information instantly. Therefore meaning that people are
able to express their different opinions online and be able to share information about
different events which are happening in the world without having to watch the news
or reading a newspaper. Also their mission statement connotes that different
politicians and celebrities are able to express their opinions on different scenarios and
are able to communicate with each other instantly without having to email which
could take considerably longer.
The purpose of Twitter is also to allow small businesses to be able to promote
themselves and therefore will allow them to be able to expand through Twitter to able
to be successful.

mission-statement-matters
Twitter
Content:
Twitter has a very simplistic colour scheme of blue and white which adds good effect
to each of the webpages. Also the top menu bar is very simplistic an modern with the
use of different symbols for example they use a lightning bolt for the latest news page
and they use a bell symbol for the use of notifications therefore this engages the
viewer compared to just viewing text. The content of Twitter also contains a well
designed mobile page which is very easy to access for users and therefore makes it
easier for users.
Twitter also has a very simple and effective interface which allows you to access
different parts of the website easily. The navigation bar also has a search bar which
allows you to be able to search for different users easily so therefore your able to
easily find friends and celebrities.
Twitter
Target user/membership:
The sign up process to Twitter is very simple meaning that people of all ages are able
to sign up for the website therefore attracting lots of people to do so. Also the website
is free to sign up so therefore the website isnā€™t aimed at a specific group of people.
Since Twitter has started it has become more and more popular and therefore the
number of tweets continues to rise.
You can sign up to Twitter very easily by filling in the sign up form and then confirming
your email can enable you to go straight onto the social media platform. Twitter users
can aim from A-E because the platform is aimed at most people. People would use this
platform in order to keep up with politics (A-C1). For Katz the platform allows users to
be able to keep up with the events which are happening in the world.
Twitter
Revenue:
Last year Twitters revenue totaled to a amount of $2.53 billion which was a significant
increase from the year before. They have also had a big increase in growth within the
last year which shows that they are becoming more successful and therefore are
becoming a larger business which should make more profit. Therefore this shows that
Twitter is a very successful company and is able to compete with some of the largest
social media websites around the world such as Facebook.
Twitter also gain lots of income from their advertisement because there users are able
to advertise their company through the use of tweets for a fee of around Ā£3 per tweet
or you can promote through hash tags which is much more costly around Ā£150,000
per day. Also hashtags are very effective because they are unique and arenā€™t used by
many other social media platforms.

Twitter
Legal/ethical issues:
The first legal and ethical issue of twitter is to ensure that there is no false information
on the website such as rumours about different celebrities because these rumours can
spread and therefore it may give Twitter a bad reputation and could results in less
people choosing to use the platform. Therefore by less people choosing to use the
platform it means that the revenue within the company decreases and their
competitors overtake them and become more successful.
Twitter also has a 140 character limit so therefore this stops people writing huge
amounts of information on the platform which could be rude or offensive and allows
Twitter to quickly identify anything which may be inappropriate on the website so
they are able to delete the information quickly.
Instagram
Purpose:
The vision of Instagram came from the ability to solve 3 problems which firstly include
photos on mobile being average so therefore being able to transform the photos
through the use of different filters so therefore photos look professional when
published on the platform. Also by using Instagram you are able to express your life
through the use of photos and by also uploading stories onto the platform about what
your getting up to and filming live videos of what you are doing at current moments.
Also another platform which they planned to solve includes being able to share
photos instantly without having to share it on multiple platforms by going onto each
of the apps and publishing it and finally to be able to upload photos quickly so
therefore the use of the app is less time consuming.
Instagram
Content:
The colour scheme of Instagram is Yellow, red, blue so therefore it is extremely
colourful which attracts people to want to download the app. It also stands out on a
phone over other apps which are more simplistic. Also Instagram are very well known
for their use of different hash tags therefore making it easier to users to find other
users or specific pictures on the platform. Also the content on Instagram is different to
other platforms because most users feel that the platform is easier to use and to
navigate around.
Also the content of instagram is purely just pictures and therefore allows people to be
able to express themselves purely through the use of different pictures which enables
the platform to be completely different to competitors and can therefore allow the
platform to be able to stand out.
Instagram
Target user/membership:
The target user for Instagram is people of all ages and different backgrounds this is
due to the platform being free and easy to sign up. Instagram is very popular reaching
up to 500 million daily active users at September 2017 compared to 150 million daily
active users from January 2017. People that typically use Instagram would be aspirers
(Maslow) because they want to post pictures to make their lives look better than they
are in reality. Instagram is also used for entertainment purposes (Katz) because users
enjoy to see what their friends and different celebrities are up to in their daily lives.
I feel it would be aimed at groups C1 to E because most people using it will be of a
younger age so therefore likely to still be in education. Most people choose to post
about their own personal lives compared to their business lives in regards to
psychographics.
https://techcrunch.com/2017/09/25/instagram-now-has-800-
million-monthly-and-500-million-daily-active-users/
Instagram
Sources of revenue:
Instagram is predicted to have made around $3 billion from mobile ads in 2017. To
promote your own posts on instagram to gain followers starts from as low at $1 and
can up to as much as you choose. The more you choose to spend on promoting the
post means that it will reach more people e.g. if you choose to spend $100 over the
duration of 3 days the post is predicted to reach a audience of around 19,000- 51,000
people so therefore meaning it will be easier for you to be able to gain followers for
your page.
Therefore this shows that Instagram makes a majority of their funds through the use
of promotion in the business and therefore means that the company is able to create
more revenue than its competitors.

stats/
Instagram
Legal/ethical issues:
Instagram have a privacy policy where you are able to set your account to private so
therefore you are able to choose who you want to follow you and be able to see your
posts. If you set your Instagram account to private it means that users can request to
follow you and you get the decision on whether to accept that request and let the
other user see your posts. It also allows you to be able to use a location tag so
therefore it makes it possible to find old friends. The copyright for Instagram includes
them not becoming the owner of any images posted by individuals or companies.
Issues such as bullying and stalking is prevented on Instagram through the option of
blocking and being able to report users.
There is also issues with Instagram, the first is the fact that you can view a lot of
information about peoples lives so therefore meaning you are able to find out where
they live or where they work which in the past has resulted in issues.
Snapchat
Purpose:
Evan Spiegel and Bobby Murphy are the founders of Snapchat which was first created
in 2011. Snapchat was created in order to send quick messages to other people
through the use of photos and recently they have intregrated text into Snapchat more
through the use of text messaging on the platform. Snapchat also provides users with
different ways of socialising with eachother and came up with ideas such as creating
stories which display users lives.
Snapchat were also the first platform to enable users to be able to share moments of
their daily lives on a story which other users which they are friends with on the
platform can view so they know what the user is getting up to on that day. Snapchat
also allows you to be able to limit the time the other user can view the message and
shows the other user when the recipient screenshots the image.
Snapchat
Content:
On the Snapchat there is a number of different pages the first of which is the main
Snapchat page where you receive and are able to send Snapchats. Snapchat allows
you to be able to send snaps through the ā€˜redā€™ feature which is a picture with text that
you can edit and limit the amount of time the recipient can view it for. There is also
the blue text which allows the recipient to view for the message for as long as they
would like and allows them to be able to save the message.
There is also a page with the discover option which allows users to be able to catch up
on recent events which have been happening in the world without having to watch
the news on TV or having to read a newspaper. So therefore Snapchat is very
informative and provides lots of different information.
Snapchat
Target user/membership:
In terms of the target user of Snapchat its believed that it is aimed at people of all
ages and is quick, easy and free to sign up for Snapchat. The majority of the Snapchat
is in the UK and America with over 80% of the users in these continents. Snapchat is
typically aimed at mainstreamers and aspirers (Maslow) as people see celebrities
stories and want to take parts of their life and integrate it into their own.
Most Snapchat users will be in the E category for socio-economic needs because a
majority of people using the app are students or unemployed in order for them to be
able to communicate with friends and family in a different interactive way. So
therefore Snapchat goes out of their way to ensure that their platform meets the
requirements of their target audience.
Snapchat
Sources of revenue:
Snapchat is reported to have earned a total of $207.9 million dollars but with a loss of
$0.14 a share. Snapchat receive income from different ads on the app from a number
of different companies. These ads appear on screen when users go onto the discovery
page and choose to view different news articles which are on Snapchat. So therefore
this shows that Snapchat have been extremely successful and have generated lots of
revenue.
Also Snapchat has spectacles which enable you to film costing around Ā£180. These
allow you to be able to film directly from your sunglasses so therefore meaning you
can film when your on the go and the device links straight to your phone so your able
to send the videos via Snapchat or upload it onto your story.

earnings-q3-2017/
Snapchat
Legal/ethical issues:
The first legal and ethical issue of Snapchat is the content which is posted onto the
platform. Therefore the platform needs to ensure that they regularly check accounts
and check stories because young children are aloud to use the platform. The content
which they would need to check for would be swearing, nudity etc. The copyright for
the website can include removing infringing material if the users infringe the
copyrights on the website and even terminate the account. The privacy of the website
includes not being able to share any information which isnā€™t stated.
Another legal and ethical issue of Snapchat would be the discovery page posting false
information about celebrities which could result in them taking legal action over the
platform and could result in the platform getting fined for this. So therefore can affect
the companies reputation hugely and result in a decline in users.
Data Protection Act (1998)
The Data Protection Act of 1998 states that all social media platforms needs to keep
personal data for the individual, family or household affairs only and canā€™t share the
information with anyone else unless the user has given permission to them to do so.
Also the Data Protection Act states that the social media platform has the
responsibility of keeping that data safe and ensuring it doesnā€™t get into the wrong
hands.
Also the Data Protection Act states that the social media platform takes responsibility
if they post personal data on their own or a third partyā€™s website and also if they
download the information and use it on third party websites. So therefore if they
break these rules it can result in legal action being taken against the company.
https://www.gov.uk/data-protection
Noam Chomsky theory
Noam Chomsky theory which is that social media ā€œerodes normal social behaviorā€. I
personally agree with this statement because I feel that because people communicate
through social media platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat so regularly it means
that they choose to go out less and would therefore prefer to send each other videos
through Snapchat than they would having a phone call or meeting up to talk.
Yik Yak is a example of this because its being banned because it promotes cyber
bullying and resulted in a 17 year old bullied teen attempting to commit suicide. Over
80,000 people signed the petition for the app to be banned. Yik Yak posted a tweet on
April 29th 2015 stating the app is taking a ā€˜study breakā€™.
Question 1
This question shows that 80% of the people asked use social media daily so therefore
will provide more accurate feedback.
Question 2
The graph shows that every person that answered the survey was aged 17 so
therefore I will getting opinions from people of a younger age.
Question 3
This graph shows that a mix of the people I asked where male and female. This would
allow me to be able to gain a mix of different opinions .
Question 4
For this question I chose to have an open answer box so therefore I could receive a
variety of different opinions about social media and all answers received were
positive and accurate about social media.
Question 5
I also asked what people dislike about social media which I received a variety of
different answers with different opinions about social media.
Advertising
How you can advertise through social media:
Firstly you can advertise through Instagram by changing your personal Instagram
account to a business account which can be done directly through the app and then
you can click on promote and choose your budget for the promotion and the duration
of the promotion and therefore this shows you how many people your promotion
could possibly reach the price of advertising start from as little as 99p.
You can advertise on Twitter through the use of promoted tweets which appear in
users timelines if Twitter thinks the advert will be relevant to them this can cost $2.50
per new follower . You can also advertise on Twitter through promoted trends which
guarantees you a placement in the trends part of Twitter but can cost $200,000 a day.
Advertising continued
You can advertise on Snapchat by setting up an advertising campaign which enables
you to be able to select the type of audience that you want to view your ad and the
age range of these viewers which varies on cost depending on the audience you want
to reach. You can also advertise using a custom filter which allows people to be able to
take photos on Snapchat with your filter at the bottom of the picture. This can cost
advertisers around $100,000 minimum.
Finally you can advertise on Facebook through the use of Facebook photo ads which
allow one image with 25 characters of text and through the use of a video Facebook
ad which allows one video with 90 characters these allow you to be able to reach your
select audience and could result in people sharing the ads which means more people
could see them this costs around $0.16 to $1.00 per click.
Adverts
Firstly Instagram did not appear to
have an advert but the Snapchat
advert that I have found is promoting
the new video chat feature on
Snapchat this advert became viral
when it reached 2 million views. The
Twitter advert which I found
promoting the world cup on Twitter
has also gone viral with 1.3 million
views and is longer than a majority of
adverts with a duration of 1 minute
and 30 seconds. This advert is very eye
catching and therefore draws the
attention of the audience from the
beginning.
Viral marketing
Viral marketing for Instagram included users going to owners of pages with large
followers and contacting them for promotion. Therefore if the owner decides to
promote you on their page it can attract hundreds of thousands of people and can
therefore increase your amount of followers etc. and could help your business to grow
significantly.
Twitter for viral marketing can be done through promoting your tweets and if the
tweets get re-tweeted by lots of users it can mean that lots of people therefore view
the marketing campaign and can therefore increase your followers, sales of the
product etc. Finally for Facebook viral marketing can be done by uploading and
promoting content which people can share and therefore the marketing campaign can
grow through this.
Product reviews
Snapchat:
Snapchat offers users a different social media experience which they canā€™t experience
on any other platform. You are able to send pictures or text messages to multiple
users at the same time and you are able to add filters onto images for special effect.
Snapchat also allows you to be able to save messages and create stories so therefore
your friends are able to see what you are up to on each day.
But parents have described Snapchat as untrustworthy for their children because they
are unable to see exactly what their children are sending. Also another drawback of
Snapchat is although you are able to see if the receiver screenshots the message you
still have no control over them screenshotting the message or image and sending it to
other multiple users.
Product reviews
Instagram:
Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms because it allows users to
be able to show other users what is happening in their lives solely through the use of
photos. Instagram allows you to be able to share images, save images and send images
through other platforms such as Facebook or through direct message on Instagram.
Although Instagram allows children to share any images and message anyone from
across the world which could be seen as extremely dangerous by parents. Also there is
a lot of inappropriate content posted on Instagram which is accessible by anyone if the
account is not set to private so therefore could be shared with young audiences which
would also be deemed as inappropriate.
Product reviews
Twitter:
Twitter is seen as a platform which is extremely accessible and easy to use. Also is a
different approach to allowing people to be able to express their opinions online and
get in touch with different celebrities and MPā€™s across the world. Twitter also allows
you to be able to keep up to date on news and also displays more mature content for a
majority of the time.
Twitter still isnā€™t appropriate for young teens though as mature content is aimed for
adults and may be seen as inappropriate for children. Also young children may not be
able to understand the content which is on the platform so therefore leaving them
confused.
Conclusion
In conclusion I feel that I have researched into three popular social media platforms
which are all very different and all have different purposes for their use. It also
allowed me to be able to look at the positives and negatives of each of the platforms
and enable me to be able to know exactly which platform is the most successful
overall and is the most popular with different audiences depending on age.

Product purpose and layout
The product is going to firstly offer a different experience which will enable users to be
able to share their lives which can be viewed by friends and family. These moments
can be viewed by users at any time and last on your profile forever unless they are
deleted by yourself.
Therefore this allows you to be able to find out exactly what you were up to on a
specific day in the past and enables fans of celebrities to find out exactly what their
celebrity idols get up too on a daily basis. Also the product allows you to be able to
post audio comments on users posts so therefore it seems more interactive and virtual
when you are communicating with them. The platform also allows you to be able to
request a video call with different celebrities if they have the feature on therefore
allowing celebrities to be more interactive with their fans.
Final features
I have chosen the names Simplicity and Lightning for my final ideas. The connotations
behind Simplicity is the quality of being simple and can also purity which will relate to
my social media page which will seem complex but will be very simple to use. The
connotations of lightning are a loss of ignorance so therefore very catchy and also a
very simple name.
The first home page feature I will include is the ability to access users ā€˜livesā€™ which are
similar to Snapchat stories and are pictures and videos of what that person has got up
to on that day. Also another feature I am going to include on the home page is
suggested celebrities which the user may want to follow which their friends may
follow already so therefore coming up with similar music artists or athletes.
Final features
The slogan I am going to use for my social media is going to be ā€˜simple and effectiveā€™
because its relatable to my social media page. The connotations of simple are having a
few parts or features so therefore telling the user that the product is easy to use so
therefore will attract people of all ages to use it. Also the connotations of effective are
something that works well and produces a good result so therefore this will encourage
users to believe the product is of a good quality.
The target audience of my product will mostly be young adults and will fit into C1-E
categories for socio-economic needs. Also I believe they will be explorers because they
are searching for a different type of social media experience and also will be looking to
escape from the reality of their everyday lives and can do this through social media for
Katz.
Colour scheme and Font styles
I have chosen red, white and blue for the colour scheme of my social
media page because they are simplistic but stand out so therefore they will
be able to draw the user in to try out the platform. I have also chosen this
colour scheme because it is colourful so therefore will allow me to make
certain parts of the website more bold while still making the page look
professional.
The font style I have chosen for my final idea is ā€˜The Blacklistā€™. I have
chosen this font because the font stands out but is also very easy to read
for the user and I have also chosen this font because it is modern so
therefore will suit the theme of my social media product.

Purpose of the product
The purpose of my product is to provide a new exciting way for people to interact
online with each other and to be able to see what their friends, family and different
celebrities are getting up to in their daily lives. Therefore meaning that people are able
to also find people who like similar things to them and be able to interact with them
through the platform. The platform will also have a very high level on security so
therefore if anything inappropriate or anything which doesnā€™t meet the guidelines of
the platform will be taken down and there will also be an option for users to report
posts. The slogans I have chosen for Simplicity is ā€˜Focus on the presentā€™ and the slogan
for Lightning is ā€˜Simple and effectiveā€™ I chose these because they suit the purpose and
design of my website.
Features of the website include a lives feature where users will be able to share
pictures and videos from their daily lives which can be viewed by their followers.
Another feature of the website will be the use of group video chats and text chats on
the platform which will make it easier to communicate. The unique selling point of the
platform is the ability to talk with celebrities with other fans and being able to ask the
celebrity different questions.
Content
Lightning and Simplicity has a very simplistic colour scheme of blue and white which
adds good effect to each of the webpages. Also the top menu bar is very simplistic and
modern and Iā€™ve used a number of different features which include the latest feed posts
so therefore users are able to view what their friends and celebrities have posted
recently.
Lightning and Simplicity also has a very simple and effective interface which allows you
to access different parts of the website easily. Thereā€™s also has a search bar which allows
you to be able to search for different users easily so therefore your able to easily find
friends and celebrities.
Budget
The overall budget for my social media website is Ā£750,000 so therefore this means
that I will be able to afford to have my website designed to the highest quality and
therefore provide the user with the best designed website. Also I need budgets in
order to recruit staff and afford all of the necessary materials for the social media
platform to work effectively.

The sign up process to my social media pages is very simple meaning that people of all

Theories
I need to ensure that I am in synergy with social media when creating my social media
platform in order to attract the most amount of users. So therefore by having users
being able to go onto other platforms such as YouTube could mean that they are likely
to want to upload the video via my social media platform so therefore they can upload
the video onto YouTube and my platform through one upload. Also I am aiming my
website at the target market of male and females aged 16-25 so therefore I need to
ensure that the website is exciting is exciting and engaging so they are likely to use it
regularly.
For socio-economic needs I will be aiming it at groups C1-E so therefore a majority of
the people using my website will be people starting off a full time job or a student in
secondary school, college or university. It will be aimed at explorers (Maslow) so
therefore people that want to go out of their comfort zone and would therefore allow
people to escape everyday life (Katz).

1st February 2nd February 4th February 4th February 5th February
2018:
Launch date
The launch date for my website launch is Friday 5th February, I need to ensure that I
meet this deadline as users will be waiting to sign up for the website and therefore by
delaying the launch date it means that people may start to forget about the website so
therefore meaning that less people may sign up for the social media website.
I have also chosen this launch date because it allows me enough time to be able to
plan and design my website so it looks professional. It also allows me enough time to
ensure that is a high amount of security on the webpage and that the users data is
going to be protected. Finally I have chosen this date because February is usually a
quiet time of year so therefore this release will mean that users will be more excited
for the release.
Advertisement and sponsorship
I am going to create revenue for my company through the use of advertisement and
sponsorship. I will charge companies in order to advertise their products or services on
my website. For example if a newly established gym opens in the local area they may
choose to advertise through my company in order for more people to be interested in
signing up for the gym.
For sponsorship for my website I will go to well established companies to ask them for
sponsorship so therefore I will increase my revenue and therefore it will provide me
with enough funds in order for me to be able to start up the business and buy all of
the equipment necessary and in order to pay for the correct staff with experience in
order for the business to grow and be successful.
Advertising costs
Type Cost Duration
Advertisement Ā£200 1 days
Advertisement Ā£1000 7 days
Advertisement Ā£2500 30 days
These are the costs in order to be able to advertise on my website, the more the
individual or company pays us the longer the duration of the advertisement on our
website meaning that more people will be able to see it and meaning there is a large
chance that it will increase sales for their business. With these prices for
advertisement it will mean that the website will be able to generate a good income
from the website which should eventually pay off all of the start up fees.
Staff
Job role Salary

Manager/ supervisor Ā£33,000
Writers Ā£22,000
Website designer Ā£23,000
Editors Ā£27,000
www.Payscale.com
These are the staff in which I will be planning to hire for my social media website,
the salaries in which I have found above are the average salaries for those roles.

Legal and ethical issues
For legal and ethical issues I have to ensure that nothing used in the website is
copyright so therefore for any image or news stories I use in my website. In order for
me to be able to see whether an image is copyright or not you have to look at the
bottom of the image for the copyright logo or for any information about copyright on
the image.
Also I would have to ensure there is a strict privacy policy on the website so therefore
meaning when users choose to sign up on the website all of the information in which
they use to sign up with isnā€™t shared with anyone and isnā€™t sold to any third party
companies. I would also need to gain access from the user if I was to use cookies in
the website so therefore a display message would need to come up so the user knows
there are cookies on the website.
Plan for privacy and security measures
The privacy and security measures on my website are going to be extremely high. I
need to ensure that when a user signs up for my website that there private data is
going to be safe so therefore meaning that the company doesnā€™t gain a bad reputation
and enables it to be successful. Also for the privacy on the website I need to ensure
that users are able to stop certain people viewing their profile if they wish too.
Also for the security measures of the website I need to ensure there is a high level of
security on the website. I can ensure there is by enabling users to be able to block
other users so therefore this can stop things such as bullying and stalking on the
website. Also for security I need to ensure that users have a private account option to
select who is able to follow them.
Revenue potential
The revenue potential for my website is extremely high due to the advertising
potential for the website. As the website grows and more users are using the website
it means that big companies will be looking to get their name out on the website and
set up accounts on the website which will hopefully attract lots of followers. So
therefore the website will be able to start charging large companies to be able to
advertise on the website.
By big companies or even individuals promoting themselves on the website it will
increase their following on the website and can increase sales for the businesses and
enable them to become more successful. For example I could charge a company Ā£500
for every thousand users which view their advertisement on the website.
Conclusion
In conclusion for this learning outcome I conclude that I have created a good
production plan with a realistic publishing date for my magazine. I also conclude that I
have made sure that each of the pages are linked to other pages through the use of
my site maps so therefore for example if a user was to click search a search bar would
appear on the screen.
Also I conclude that the website is going to have a clear target audience and I am
going to ensure that the design of the website and the features within the website are
tailored to this target audience so they are more likely to use the website.
Final home page ( Simplicity)
Overall I am very satisfied with the design of my home page for Simplicity. The design is
very simple and effective and the colour scheme is clear throughout.
Final sign up page (Simplicity)
The sign up page I have created for Simplicity is overall very clear and makes the
process of signing up very simple for the user. The use of the sign in button also makes
it a easy process onto the platform for existing users.
Final home page (Lightning)
For my final home page for Lightning I have created a well structured home page with a
clear colour scheme. The use of a custom feed also saves the user time and allows
them to see the most recent posts.
Final sign up page (lightning)
For my sign up page for Lightning I have created a professional form where it makes it a
easy process for users to sign up. It also makes it an easy process for existing users to
sign in.
Page summary
Each of the pages in which I have created for my website include recent news so
therefore informing the user of the most recent events in the news without them
having to go onto BBC news for example. Also I have included a feature on the website
where the user is able to view the most recent posts on their feed so this will save the
user time when logging onto the website and will mean that they spend less time
searching for posts on the platform. All of my pages I have created have a strong
consistent colour scheme and a good design which looks extremely professional.
Guidelines and Conditions
For the guidelines and conditions for my website I have a privacy policy and terms and
conditions for my website so therefore when users sign up for the website and know
exactly what the company can legally do with their information. It also shows where
your information is allowed to go to. The terms and conditions can include
information about registering for the website and the rules about signing out the
website and what would happen if you choose to close down your account.
The privacy policy will contain information about your data on the website so
therefore explaining to the user what data the website stores of the users so if they
agree to this on the sign up page they know exactly what they are signing up for.
How do your pages target your
audience?
The pages on my website will target my audience by firstly allowing them to be able to
view the latest posts on their feed. So therefore this means that users are able to keep
up with different celebrities lives. Also on the website the users are able to view the
latest news in the world. This means by keeping up with the news that you are able to
use everything you need just by keeping on the website.
So therefore by the website containing a lot of different features it means that users
will be able to stay on my webpage and wonā€™t be diverted to have to use other
websites to view news, celebrity gossip etc. Also finally by having a contact page it
allows users to get their queries answered.
Conclusion
In conclusion I conclude that overall I am extremely satisfied with the overall design of
my final pages. I have created professional and well designed home pages and sign up
pages for my website, the sign up page makes it very easy for users to be able to sign
up to my website so meaning that it is likely to attract more users to want to sign up
for my website and would mean that the word of the platform would spread through
mouth to mouth.

Unit 35

  • 1. OCR ā€“ Level 3 Cambridge Introductory Diploma in Media Unit 35: Social Media Products St. Andrewā€™s Catholic School ā€“ Zack Simpson Unit 35 Overview
  • 2.
  • 3. Twitter Purpose: Twitter mission statement states their purpose is to be able to give power to be able share different ideas and information instantly. Therefore meaning that people are able to express their different opinions online and be able to share information about different events which are happening in the world without having to watch the news or reading a newspaper. Also their mission statement connotes that different politicians and celebrities are able to express their opinions on different scenarios and are able to communicate with each other instantly without having to email which could take considerably longer. The purpose of Twitter is also to allow small businesses to be able to promote themselves and therefore will allow them to be able to expand through Twitter to able to be successful. https://hbr.org/2014/11/why-twitters- mission-statement-matters
  • 4. Twitter Content: Twitter has a very simplistic colour scheme of blue and white which adds good effect to each of the webpages. Also the top menu bar is very simplistic an modern with the use of different symbols for example they use a lightning bolt for the latest news page and they use a bell symbol for the use of notifications therefore this engages the viewer compared to just viewing text. The content of Twitter also contains a well designed mobile page which is very easy to access for users and therefore makes it easier for users. Twitter also has a very simple and effective interface which allows you to access different parts of the website easily. The navigation bar also has a search bar which allows you to be able to search for different users easily so therefore your able to easily find friends and celebrities.
  • 5. Twitter Target user/membership: The sign up process to Twitter is very simple meaning that people of all ages are able to sign up for the website therefore attracting lots of people to do so. Also the website is free to sign up so therefore the website isnā€™t aimed at a specific group of people. Since Twitter has started it has become more and more popular and therefore the number of tweets continues to rise. You can sign up to Twitter very easily by filling in the sign up form and then confirming your email can enable you to go straight onto the social media platform. Twitter users can aim from A-E because the platform is aimed at most people. People would use this platform in order to keep up with politics (A-C1). For Katz the platform allows users to be able to keep up with the events which are happening in the world.
  • 6. Twitter Revenue: Last year Twitters revenue totaled to a amount of $2.53 billion which was a significant increase from the year before. They have also had a big increase in growth within the last year which shows that they are becoming more successful and therefore are becoming a larger business which should make more profit. Therefore this shows that Twitter is a very successful company and is able to compete with some of the largest social media websites around the world such as Facebook. Twitter also gain lots of income from their advertisement because there users are able to advertise their company through the use of tweets for a fee of around Ā£3 per tweet or you can promote through hash tags which is much more costly around Ā£150,000 per day. Also hashtags are very effective because they are unique and arenā€™t used by many other social media platforms. https://www.marketwatch.com/investing/stoc k/twtr/financials
  • 7. Twitter Legal/ethical issues: The first legal and ethical issue of twitter is to ensure that there is no false information on the website such as rumours about different celebrities because these rumours can spread and therefore it may give Twitter a bad reputation and could results in less people choosing to use the platform. Therefore by less people choosing to use the platform it means that the revenue within the company decreases and their competitors overtake them and become more successful. Twitter also has a 140 character limit so therefore this stops people writing huge amounts of information on the platform which could be rude or offensive and allows Twitter to quickly identify anything which may be inappropriate on the website so they are able to delete the information quickly.
  • 8. Instagram Purpose: The vision of Instagram came from the ability to solve 3 problems which firstly include photos on mobile being average so therefore being able to transform the photos through the use of different filters so therefore photos look professional when published on the platform. Also by using Instagram you are able to express your life through the use of photos and by also uploading stories onto the platform about what your getting up to and filming live videos of what you are doing at current moments. Also another platform which they planned to solve includes being able to share photos instantly without having to share it on multiple platforms by going onto each of the apps and publishing it and finally to be able to upload photos quickly so therefore the use of the app is less time consuming.
  • 9. Instagram Content: The colour scheme of Instagram is Yellow, red, blue so therefore it is extremely colourful which attracts people to want to download the app. It also stands out on a phone over other apps which are more simplistic. Also Instagram are very well known for their use of different hash tags therefore making it easier to users to find other users or specific pictures on the platform. Also the content on Instagram is different to other platforms because most users feel that the platform is easier to use and to navigate around. Also the content of instagram is purely just pictures and therefore allows people to be able to express themselves purely through the use of different pictures which enables the platform to be completely different to competitors and can therefore allow the platform to be able to stand out.
  • 10. Instagram Target user/membership: The target user for Instagram is people of all ages and different backgrounds this is due to the platform being free and easy to sign up. Instagram is very popular reaching up to 500 million daily active users at September 2017 compared to 150 million daily active users from January 2017. People that typically use Instagram would be aspirers (Maslow) because they want to post pictures to make their lives look better than they are in reality. Instagram is also used for entertainment purposes (Katz) because users enjoy to see what their friends and different celebrities are up to in their daily lives. I feel it would be aimed at groups C1 to E because most people using it will be of a younger age so therefore likely to still be in education. Most people choose to post about their own personal lives compared to their business lives in regards to psychographics. https://techcrunch.com/2017/09/25/instagram-now-has-800- million-monthly-and-500-million-daily-active-users/
  • 11. Instagram Sources of revenue: Instagram is predicted to have made around $3 billion from mobile ads in 2017. To promote your own posts on instagram to gain followers starts from as low at $1 and can up to as much as you choose. The more you choose to spend on promoting the post means that it will reach more people e.g. if you choose to spend $100 over the duration of 3 days the post is predicted to reach a audience of around 19,000- 51,000 people so therefore meaning it will be easier for you to be able to gain followers for your page. Therefore this shows that Instagram makes a majority of their funds through the use of promotion in the business and therefore means that the company is able to create more revenue than its competitors. https://sproutsocial.com/insights/instagram- stats/
  • 12. Instagram Legal/ethical issues: Instagram have a privacy policy where you are able to set your account to private so therefore you are able to choose who you want to follow you and be able to see your posts. If you set your Instagram account to private it means that users can request to follow you and you get the decision on whether to accept that request and let the other user see your posts. It also allows you to be able to use a location tag so therefore it makes it possible to find old friends. The copyright for Instagram includes them not becoming the owner of any images posted by individuals or companies. Issues such as bullying and stalking is prevented on Instagram through the option of blocking and being able to report users. There is also issues with Instagram, the first is the fact that you can view a lot of information about peoples lives so therefore meaning you are able to find out where they live or where they work which in the past has resulted in issues.
  • 13. Snapchat Purpose: Evan Spiegel and Bobby Murphy are the founders of Snapchat which was first created in 2011. Snapchat was created in order to send quick messages to other people through the use of photos and recently they have intregrated text into Snapchat more through the use of text messaging on the platform. Snapchat also provides users with different ways of socialising with eachother and came up with ideas such as creating stories which display users lives. Snapchat were also the first platform to enable users to be able to share moments of their daily lives on a story which other users which they are friends with on the platform can view so they know what the user is getting up to on that day. Snapchat also allows you to be able to limit the time the other user can view the message and shows the other user when the recipient screenshots the image.
  • 14. Snapchat Content: On the Snapchat there is a number of different pages the first of which is the main Snapchat page where you receive and are able to send Snapchats. Snapchat allows you to be able to send snaps through the ā€˜redā€™ feature which is a picture with text that you can edit and limit the amount of time the recipient can view it for. There is also the blue text which allows the recipient to view for the message for as long as they would like and allows them to be able to save the message. There is also a page with the discover option which allows users to be able to catch up on recent events which have been happening in the world without having to watch the news on TV or having to read a newspaper. So therefore Snapchat is very informative and provides lots of different information.
  • 15. Snapchat Target user/membership: In terms of the target user of Snapchat its believed that it is aimed at people of all ages and is quick, easy and free to sign up for Snapchat. The majority of the Snapchat is in the UK and America with over 80% of the users in these continents. Snapchat is typically aimed at mainstreamers and aspirers (Maslow) as people see celebrities stories and want to take parts of their life and integrate it into their own. Most Snapchat users will be in the E category for socio-economic needs because a majority of people using the app are students or unemployed in order for them to be able to communicate with friends and family in a different interactive way. So therefore Snapchat goes out of their way to ensure that their platform meets the requirements of their target audience.
  • 16. Snapchat Sources of revenue: Snapchat is reported to have earned a total of $207.9 million dollars but with a loss of $0.14 a share. Snapchat receive income from different ads on the app from a number of different companies. These ads appear on screen when users go onto the discovery page and choose to view different news articles which are on Snapchat. So therefore this shows that Snapchat have been extremely successful and have generated lots of revenue. Also Snapchat has spectacles which enable you to film costing around Ā£180. These allow you to be able to film directly from your sunglasses so therefore meaning you can film when your on the go and the device links straight to your phone so your able to send the videos via Snapchat or upload it onto your story. https://techcrunch.com/2017/11/07/snap- earnings-q3-2017/
  • 17. Snapchat Legal/ethical issues: The first legal and ethical issue of Snapchat is the content which is posted onto the platform. Therefore the platform needs to ensure that they regularly check accounts and check stories because young children are aloud to use the platform. The content which they would need to check for would be swearing, nudity etc. The copyright for the website can include removing infringing material if the users infringe the copyrights on the website and even terminate the account. The privacy of the website includes not being able to share any information which isnā€™t stated. Another legal and ethical issue of Snapchat would be the discovery page posting false information about celebrities which could result in them taking legal action over the platform and could result in the platform getting fined for this. So therefore can affect the companies reputation hugely and result in a decline in users.
  • 18. Data Protection Act (1998) The Data Protection Act of 1998 states that all social media platforms needs to keep personal data for the individual, family or household affairs only and canā€™t share the information with anyone else unless the user has given permission to them to do so. Also the Data Protection Act states that the social media platform has the responsibility of keeping that data safe and ensuring it doesnā€™t get into the wrong hands. Also the Data Protection Act states that the social media platform takes responsibility if they post personal data on their own or a third partyā€™s website and also if they download the information and use it on third party websites. So therefore if they break these rules it can result in legal action being taken against the company. https://www.gov.uk/data-protection
  • 19. Noam Chomsky theory Noam Chomsky theory which is that social media ā€œerodes normal social behaviorā€. I personally agree with this statement because I feel that because people communicate through social media platforms such as Instagram and Snapchat so regularly it means that they choose to go out less and would therefore prefer to send each other videos through Snapchat than they would having a phone call or meeting up to talk. Yik Yak is a example of this because its being banned because it promotes cyber bullying and resulted in a 17 year old bullied teen attempting to commit suicide. Over 80,000 people signed the petition for the app to be banned. Yik Yak posted a tweet on April 29th 2015 stating the app is taking a ā€˜study breakā€™.
  • 20. Question 1 This question shows that 80% of the people asked use social media daily so therefore will provide more accurate feedback.
  • 21. Question 2 The graph shows that every person that answered the survey was aged 17 so therefore I will getting opinions from people of a younger age.
  • 22. Question 3 This graph shows that a mix of the people I asked where male and female. This would allow me to be able to gain a mix of different opinions .
  • 23. Question 4 For this question I chose to have an open answer box so therefore I could receive a variety of different opinions about social media and all answers received were positive and accurate about social media.
  • 24. Question 5 I also asked what people dislike about social media which I received a variety of different answers with different opinions about social media.
  • 25. Advertising How you can advertise through social media: Firstly you can advertise through Instagram by changing your personal Instagram account to a business account which can be done directly through the app and then you can click on promote and choose your budget for the promotion and the duration of the promotion and therefore this shows you how many people your promotion could possibly reach the price of advertising start from as little as 99p. You can advertise on Twitter through the use of promoted tweets which appear in users timelines if Twitter thinks the advert will be relevant to them this can cost $2.50 per new follower . You can also advertise on Twitter through promoted trends which guarantees you a placement in the trends part of Twitter but can cost $200,000 a day.
  • 26. Advertising continued You can advertise on Snapchat by setting up an advertising campaign which enables you to be able to select the type of audience that you want to view your ad and the age range of these viewers which varies on cost depending on the audience you want to reach. You can also advertise using a custom filter which allows people to be able to take photos on Snapchat with your filter at the bottom of the picture. This can cost advertisers around $100,000 minimum. Finally you can advertise on Facebook through the use of Facebook photo ads which allow one image with 25 characters of text and through the use of a video Facebook ad which allows one video with 90 characters these allow you to be able to reach your select audience and could result in people sharing the ads which means more people could see them this costs around $0.16 to $1.00 per click.
  • 27. Adverts Firstly Instagram did not appear to have an advert but the Snapchat advert that I have found is promoting the new video chat feature on Snapchat this advert became viral when it reached 2 million views. The Twitter advert which I found promoting the world cup on Twitter has also gone viral with 1.3 million views and is longer than a majority of adverts with a duration of 1 minute and 30 seconds. This advert is very eye catching and therefore draws the attention of the audience from the beginning.
  • 28. Viral marketing Viral marketing for Instagram included users going to owners of pages with large followers and contacting them for promotion. Therefore if the owner decides to promote you on their page it can attract hundreds of thousands of people and can therefore increase your amount of followers etc. and could help your business to grow significantly. Twitter for viral marketing can be done through promoting your tweets and if the tweets get re-tweeted by lots of users it can mean that lots of people therefore view the marketing campaign and can therefore increase your followers, sales of the product etc. Finally for Facebook viral marketing can be done by uploading and promoting content which people can share and therefore the marketing campaign can grow through this.
  • 29. Product reviews Snapchat: Snapchat offers users a different social media experience which they canā€™t experience on any other platform. You are able to send pictures or text messages to multiple users at the same time and you are able to add filters onto images for special effect. Snapchat also allows you to be able to save messages and create stories so therefore your friends are able to see what you are up to on each day. But parents have described Snapchat as untrustworthy for their children because they are unable to see exactly what their children are sending. Also another drawback of Snapchat is although you are able to see if the receiver screenshots the message you still have no control over them screenshotting the message or image and sending it to other multiple users.
  • 30. Product reviews Instagram: Instagram is one of the most popular social media platforms because it allows users to be able to show other users what is happening in their lives solely through the use of photos. Instagram allows you to be able to share images, save images and send images through other platforms such as Facebook or through direct message on Instagram. Although Instagram allows children to share any images and message anyone from across the world which could be seen as extremely dangerous by parents. Also there is a lot of inappropriate content posted on Instagram which is accessible by anyone if the account is not set to private so therefore could be shared with young audiences which would also be deemed as inappropriate.
  • 31. Product reviews Twitter: Twitter is seen as a platform which is extremely accessible and easy to use. Also is a different approach to allowing people to be able to express their opinions online and get in touch with different celebrities and MPā€™s across the world. Twitter also allows you to be able to keep up to date on news and also displays more mature content for a majority of the time. Twitter still isnā€™t appropriate for young teens though as mature content is aimed for adults and may be seen as inappropriate for children. Also young children may not be able to understand the content which is on the platform so therefore leaving them confused.
  • 32. Conclusion In conclusion I feel that I have researched into three popular social media platforms which are all very different and all have different purposes for their use. It also allowed me to be able to look at the positives and negatives of each of the platforms and enable me to be able to know exactly which platform is the most successful overall and is the most popular with different audiences depending on age.

Therefore this allows you to be able to find out exactly what you were up to on a specific day in the past and enables fans of celebrities to find out exactly what their celebrity idols get up too on a daily basis. The connotations behind Simplicity is the quality of being simple and can also purity which will relate to my social media page which will seem complex but will be very simple to use. The connotations of lightning are a loss of ignorance so therefore very catchy and also a very simple name. The first home page feature I will include is the ability to access users ā€˜livesā€™ which are similar to Snapchat stories and are pictures and videos of what that person has got up to on that day. Also another feature I am going to include on the home page is suggested celebrities which the user may want to follow which their friends may follow already so therefore coming up with similar music artists or athletes.
  • 37. Final features The slogan I am going to use for my social media is going to be ā€˜simple and effectiveā€™ because its relatable to my social media page. The connotations of simple are having a few parts or features so therefore telling the user that the product is easy to use so therefore will attract people of all ages to use it. Also the connotations of effective are something that works well and produces a good result so therefore this will encourage users to believe the product is of a good quality. The target audience of my product will mostly be young adults and will fit into C1-E categories for socio-economic needs. Also I believe they will be explorers because they are searching for a different type of social media experience and also will be looking to escape from the reality of their everyday lives and can do this through social media for Katz.
  • 38. Colour scheme and Font styles I have chosen red, white and blue for the colour scheme of my social media page because they are simplistic but stand out so therefore they will be able to draw the user in to try out the platform. I have also chosen this colour scheme because it is colourful so therefore will allow me to make certain parts of the website more bold while still making the page look professional. The font style I have chosen for my final idea is ā€˜The Blacklistā€™. I have chosen this font because the font stands out but is also very easy to read for the user and I have also chosen this font because it is modern so therefore will suit the theme of my social media product.

  • 49. Purpose of the product The purpose of my product is to provide a new exciting way for people to interact online with each other and to be able to see what their friends, family and different celebrities are getting up to in their daily lives. Therefore meaning that people are able to also find people who like similar things to them and be able to interact with them through the platform. The platform will also have a very high level on security so therefore if anything inappropriate or anything which doesnā€™t meet the guidelines of the platform will be taken down and there will also be an option for users to report posts. The slogans I have chosen for Simplicity is ā€˜Focus on the presentā€™ and the slogan for Lightning is ā€˜Simple and effectiveā€™ I chose these because they suit the purpose and design of my website. Features of the website include a lives feature where users will be able to share pictures and videos from their daily lives which can be viewed by their followers. Another feature of the website will be the use of group video chats and text chats on the platform which will make it easier to communicate. The unique selling point of the platform is the ability to talk with celebrities with other fans and being able to ask the celebrity different questions.
  • 50. Content Lightning and Simplicity has a very simplistic colour scheme of blue and white which adds good effect to each of the webpages. Also the top menu bar is very simplistic and modern and Iā€™ve used a number of different features which include the latest feed posts so therefore users are able to view what their friends and celebrities have posted recently. Lightning and Simplicity also has a very simple and effective interface which allows you to access different parts of the website easily. Thereā€™s also has a search bar which allows you to be able to search for different users easily so therefore your able to easily find friends and celebrities.
  • 51. Budget The overall budget for my social media website is Ā£750,000 so therefore this means that I will be able to afford to have my website designed to the highest quality and therefore provide the user with the best designed website. Also I need budgets in order to recruit staff and afford all of the necessary materials for the social media platform to work effectively.
  • 52. Target/User membership The sign up process to my social media pages is very simple meaning that people of all ages are able to sign up for the website therefore attracting lots of people to do so. Also the website is free to sign up so therefore the website isnā€™t aimed at a specific group of people. This means its more likely that more people will sign up due to this You can sign up to Lightning and Simplicity very easily by filling in the sign up form and then confirming your email can enable you to go straight onto the social media platform. Lightning and Simplicity users can aim from A-E because the platform is aimed at most people. People would use this platform in order to keep up with friends, family and celebrities lives(C1-E). For Katz the platform allows users to be able to keep up with the events which are happening in the world.
  • 53. • 54. Sign up page layout Sign up page Log out About Terms and conditions HelpSign up Sign up form Sign up About us Website Terms and conditions FAQS Contact In order to sign up you need to click on the sign up link which brings up a form where the user would need to type their personal information and then click submit. Also I will use the same colour scheme in order for my pages to be recognisable.
  • 55. Theories I need to ensure that I am in synergy with social media when creating my social media platform in order to attract the most amount of users. So therefore by having users being able to go onto other platforms such as YouTube could mean that they are likely to want to upload the video via my social media platform so therefore they can upload the video onto YouTube and my platform through one upload. Also I am aiming my website at the target market of male and females aged 16-25 so therefore I need to ensure that the website is exciting is exciting and engaging so they are likely to use it regularly. For socio-economic needs I will be aiming it at groups C1-E so therefore a majority of the people using my website will be people starting off a full time job or a student in secondary school, college or university. It will be aimed at explorers (Maslow) so therefore people that want to go out of their comfort zone and would therefore allow people to escape everyday life (Katz).

  • 60. Launch date The launch date for my website launch is Friday 5th February, I need to ensure that I meet this deadline as users will be waiting to sign up for the website and therefore by delaying the launch date it means that people may start to forget about the website so therefore meaning that less people may sign up for the social media website. I have also chosen this launch date because it allows me enough time to be able to plan and design my website so it looks professional. It also allows me enough time to ensure that is a high amount of security on the webpage and that the users data is going to be protected. Finally I have chosen this date because February is usually a quiet time of year so therefore this release will mean that users will be more excited for the release.
  • 61. Advertisement and sponsorship I am going to create revenue for my company through the use of advertisement and sponsorship. I will charge companies in order to advertise their products or services on my website. For example if a newly established gym opens in the local area they may choose to advertise through my company in order for more people to be interested in signing up for the gym. For sponsorship for my website I will go to well established companies to ask them for sponsorship so therefore I will increase my revenue and therefore it will provide me with enough funds in order for me to be able to start up the business and buy all of the equipment necessary and in order to pay for the correct staff with experience in order for the business to grow and be successful.
  • 62. Advertising costs Type Cost Duration Advertisement Ā£200 1 days Advertisement Ā£1000 7 days Advertisement Ā£2500 30 days These are the costs in order to be able to advertise on my website, the more the individual or company pays us the longer the duration of the advertisement on our website meaning that more people will be able to see it and meaning there is a large chance that it will increase sales for their business. With these prices for advertisement it will mean that the website will be able to generate a good income from the website which should eventually pay off all of the start up fees.

  • 65. Legal and ethical issues For legal and ethical issues I have to ensure that nothing used in the website is copyright so therefore for any image or news stories I use in my website. In order for me to be able to see whether an image is copyright or not you have to look at the bottom of the image for the copyright logo or for any information about copyright on the image. Also I would have to ensure there is a strict privacy policy on the website so therefore meaning when users choose to sign up on the website all of the information in which they use to sign up with isnā€™t shared with anyone and isnā€™t sold to any third party companies. I would also need to gain access from the user if I was to use cookies in the website so therefore a display message would need to come up so the user knows there are cookies on the website.
  • 66. Plan for privacy and security measures The privacy and security measures on my website are going to be extremely high. I need to ensure that when a user signs up for my website that there private data is going to be safe so therefore meaning that the company doesnā€™t gain a bad reputation and enables it to be successful. Also for the privacy on the website I need to ensure that users are able to stop certain people viewing their profile if they wish too. Also for the security measures of the website I need to ensure there is a high level of security on the website. I can ensure there is by enabling users to be able to block other users so therefore this can stop things such as bullying and stalking on the website. Also for security I need to ensure that users have a private account option to select who is able to follow them.
  • 67. Revenue potential The revenue potential for my website is extremely high due to the advertising potential for the website. As the website grows and more users are using the website it means that big companies will be looking to get their name out on the website and set up accounts on the website which will hopefully attract lots of followers. So therefore the website will be able to start charging large companies to be able to advertise on the website. By big companies or even individuals promoting themselves on the website it will increase their following on the website and can increase sales for the businesses and enable them to become more successful. For example I could charge a company Ā£500 for every thousand users which view their advertisement on the website.
  • 68. Conclusion In conclusion for this learning outcome I conclude that I have created a good production plan with a realistic publishing date for my magazine. I also conclude that I have made sure that each of the pages are linked to other pages through the use of my site maps so therefore for example if a user was to click search a search bar would appear on the screen. Also I conclude that the website is going to have a clear target audience and I am going to ensure that the design of the website and the features within the website are tailored to this target audience so they are more likely to use the website.

  • 70. Final home page ( Simplicity) Overall I am very satisfied with the design of my home page for Simplicity. The design is very simple and effective and the colour scheme is clear throughout.
  • 71. Final sign up page (Simplicity) The sign up page I have created for Simplicity is overall very clear and makes the process of signing up very simple for the user. The use of the sign in button also makes it a easy process onto the platform for existing users.
  • 72. Final home page (Lightning) For my final home page for Lightning I have created a well structured home page with a clear colour scheme. The use of a custom feed also saves the user time and allows them to see the most recent posts.
  • 73. Final sign up page (lightning) For my sign up page for Lightning I have created a professional form where it makes it a easy process for users to sign up. It also makes it an easy process for existing users to sign in.
  • 74. Page summary Each of the pages in which I have created for my website include recent news so therefore informing the user of the most recent events in the news without them having to go onto BBC news for example. Also I have included a feature on the website where the user is able to view the most recent posts on their feed so this will save the user time when logging onto the website and will mean that they spend less time searching for posts on the platform. All of my pages I have created have a strong consistent colour scheme and a good design which looks extremely professional.
  • 75. Guidelines and Conditions For the guidelines and conditions for my website I have a privacy policy and terms and conditions for my website so therefore when users sign up for the website and know exactly what the company can legally do with their information. It also shows where your information is allowed to go to. The terms and conditions can include information about registering for the website and the rules about signing out the website and what would happen if you choose to close down your account. The privacy policy will contain information about your data on the website so therefore explaining to the user what data the website stores of the users so if they agree to this on the sign up page they know exactly what they are signing up for.
  • 76. How do your pages target your audience? The pages on my website will target my audience by firstly allowing them to be able to view the latest posts on their feed. So therefore this means that users are able to keep up with different celebrities lives. Also on the website the users are able to view the latest news in the world. This means by keeping up with the news that you are able to use everything you need just by keeping on the website. So therefore by the website containing a lot of different features it means that users will be able to stay on my webpage and wonā€™t be diverted to have to use other websites to view news, celebrity gossip etc. Also finally by having a contact page it allows users to get their queries answered.
  • 77. Conclusion In conclusion I conclude that overall I am extremely satisfied with the overall design of my final pages. I have created professional and well designed home pages and sign up pages for my website, the sign up page makes it very easy for users to be able to sign up to my website so meaning that it is likely to attract more users to want to sign up for my website and would mean that the word of the platform would spread through mouth to mouth.
