5. This was created by Evan Spiegel, Bobby Murphy, and Reggie Brown, former students at
Stanford University, it was formed in September 2011. As the owner then made the application
public it has an estimated net worth of over 4 billion dollars. Snapchat Now Has More
Daily Users Than Twitter Does. According to a report by Bloomberg, Snapchat now has 150
million people using the app every day.
Just after midnight on October 6, 2010, Kevin Systrom signed into his Apple App Store control
panel. With a click, Instagram, the photo-sharing app he'd created with Mike Krieger, was open to
the world. The net worth for Instagram is exactly 1.48 billion USD and The app is one of the most
popular social networks worldwide. In April 2017, Instagram announced 700 million monthly active
users.
Twitter was created by not just one but four different founders who's names are Noah Glass, Jack
Dorsey, Biz Stone and Evan Williams, they created this on the 21st March 2006, San Francisco,
California, United States. The company, which will report fourth-quarter earnings on Wednesday,
was valued at just more than $10 billion when it closed today—down from a 2013 high of $40
billion. As of the third quarter of 2017, the microblogging service averaged at 330 million monthly
active users.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION

6. PURPOSE - SNAPCHAT
Snapchat is the well known mobile app that allows you to send videos and pictures
which both will destruct after a few seconds after the person viewing them, you can
choose to send them between 1-10 seconds long.
It’s a enjoyable messaging app as you can capture a photo or quick video with it, then
add either a caption, drawing, filter or lens over the top then send this finished
creation to as many friends as you want.
You can also add a snap to your story which is a 24 hour collection of all your snaps
that’s broadcasted to all of the people that are friends with you.
Although the snaps disappear after a few seconds they have added a gallery of saved
snaps which means you can only save your own snaps to ‘memories’ before sending
it which then keeps it in this gallery and you can look back at them.

Snapchat is a great way to interact with your friends and also see what they are doing. As
Snapchat uses pictures, videos and chats it draws in a large audience as they are so many
different ways to show what you and your friends are doing. For example you can be on the
camera page which you press once to take a photo and hold down for a video, the trophy case
page which you can see how many trophy's you have gained and what you need to do to gain
others, the profile page which has your username on and from here you can add friends and
see who you are friends with at the moment.

8. CONTENT – SNAP CHAT
Snapchat uses very vibrant and bright colors to make the app feel appealing and a place where you have a good
time, like for example on the chat page if you are chatting to someone just using words the chat will appear light
blue, if you sent them a picture it will appear red, and if you send a video it will appear purple. This helps the
audience to know what they will be receiving and the colors help to lighten the mood while sing the app. The story
page is a place where you are able to look at what all your friends are doing and it will tell you what time the person
was doing that and sometimes you can choose to put the location of where the “Snap” was taken. You can add thing
to your story by simply taking a snap and instead of sending it to someone you send it to your story. By adding
things to your story anyone that you have accepted to be as friends will be able to see this and if you are friends the
will be able to swipe up and Snapchat you from a story.

9. TARGET USER/MEMBERSHIP – SNAP
CHAT
The application snap chat was created in America which is probably why the main
audience is in this country as 55% of snap chats user ship live in America, and the next
up is Europe where a big 33% of users are using this application. Also although the app
is not as known as Facebook or Instagram there is still more than 100 million people that
use it everyday and there are 200 million active users worldwide, and they spend an
average of 30 minutes on the app daily.
The main age demographics for the application is that the main audience is between 18-
24 years old and this age group largely dominates the target audience and is shown
through the fact that 60% of users are under 25 years of age. Between the ages 18-24
makes up 37% of snap chat users, from 25 to 34 make up 26% of their users and only
12% of their audience is over 35.
Although snap chat does not reveal gender unless it has drastically changed in the last 3
years its more dominated by girls but is quite a mixed use of genders.

CHAT
A way that snap chat gain money which was introduced during January in 2015 is through
streaming live events such as live music performances and football games. As well as this
they have sponsored stories which the snap chat app will put up for everyone to watch and
these change every 24 hours so this will gain a large amount of revenue as over 20 million
people views these, which converts to about $400,000.
Furthermore snap chat makes a large amount of their money through the ‘sponsored filters’
as these are used in people snap chats all the time and this change frequently from things
such as a rainbow coming out your mouth to it looking like your crying. These filters are funny
and encourage snap chat users to use the app and to send more snaps and the more that
people use these filters the more revenue is gained.

Snapchat is about communicating with friends and family, living in the moment, learning about the world, and having fun together. Their goal in creating
these Guidelines is to accommodate the broadest range of self-expression, while balancing the need for Snap chatters to be able to use our services
safely and enjoyably.
Here are some important guidelines for using Snapchat.
Adult Content
We prohibit accounts that promote or distribute pornographic content.
Breastfeeding and other depictions of nudity in non-sexual contexts are okay.
Nudity or Sexually Suggestive Content Involving Minors
Never post, save, or send nude or sexual content involving people under the age of 18 — even of yourself.
This includes adding drawings or captions to a Snap to make it sexual, even as a joke.
Illegal Content
Don’t use Snapchat for any illegal shenanigans.
Invasions of Privacy
Don't take Snaps of people in private spaces, like someone’s home, a bathroom, dressing room, or locker room, without their knowledge and consent.

The Data Protection Act controls how your personal information is used by organizations, business
or the government.
Everyone responsible for using data has to follow strict rules called ‘data protection principles’.
They must make sure the information is:
• used fairly and lawfully
• used for limited, specifically stated purposes
• used in a way that is adequate, relevant and not excessive
• accurate
• kept for no longer than is absolutely necessary
• handled according to people’s data protection rights
• kept safe and secure
• not transferred outside the European Area without adequate protection.

13. PURPOSE – INSTAGRAM
Instagram is a photo sharing software where you are able to upload either a photo or
a video onto your profile and add a caption top the image/video. Instagram’s
homepage describes the software as “a fast, beautiful and fun way to share your
photos with your friends and family”. This connotes that they have created this app in
order for users to be able share all of the photos that they would want to with their
family and friends but in a sort of portfolio style so that they are able to scroll through
all look through all the different photos that you have shared in the past. Furthermore
it introduces an element of fun when sharing photos and your are also according to
make Instagram you can make it unique and beautiful to yourself.

14. PURPOSE – INSTAGRAM
The purpose of Instagram due to their next added feature of ‘Instagram stories’ could have slightly changed. This
is because the fact that they added a story feature could connote that they would want the photo sharing app to
show other people the story of each individual as the photos can show what they have been doing, then their
stories can then outline where they are and what they are doing when taking and sharing these photos.

15. CONTENT – INSTAGRAM
Instagram’s main content involves pictures and videos, you have your own personal
profile page which has all of your posts on and tells you things such as how many
followers you have and how many post you have put up. There are two types of accounts,
a private account and an open account, this means that people can either follow and look
at your posts without your permission and a private account means you have to accept
their request or they cant see any of your stuff.
When you go onto your feed you are able to see all of the users posts that you follow and
then you can either like, comment or share their post, the more likes you get on a photo
the better and then people are able to comment what they think about the photo.
They have also added “dm’s” which stands for direct message so instead of just being
able to like and comment you can also message people on the Instagram app.

- 68% of Instagram users are Females.
- 80% of Instagram users come from outside of the U.S.
- 77.6 million Instagram users are from US.
- Instagram is used by 31% of American women and 24% of men.
- 32% of all Internet users are on Instagram.
- 59% of internet users between the ages of 18 and 29 use Instagram and 33% of internet users between
the ages of 30 and 49 use Instagram
- 38% of female internet users use Instagram and 26% of male internet users use Instagram
- 17% of teens say Instagram is the most important social media site (up from 12% in 2012)
So overall instagram has a wide range of female user in comparison to male users as it has a huge 68%
female user ship so only 32% of users are male, and this may be due to the fact that females are more
likely to want to post ‘selfies’ and personal photos which would explain why they would like instagram
more than males.

17. SOURCES OF REVENUE -
INSTAGRAM
Instagram makes its money from advertising, just like
Facebook. Facebook doesn't break out Instagram's financials,
but Facebook overall derived about 93% of its fourth-quarter
revenue from ads. Ad revenue for the quarter was $3.59 billion,
a 53% increase from the same quarter the year before.
Generally, the process for Instagram making revenue is
this:
1. An advertiser buys advertising space on Instagram by
boosting a post, video, or any other media format available on
the Instagram platform.
2. Instagram serves the ads set up by the advertiser natively
on the Instagram platform
3. Instagram charges the advertiser based on the amount of
advertisement impressions served (specifically, how many
times the advertisement(s) was seen in total).

This is an example of an advert on Instagram and
you can tell this is an advert as it will say
‘sponsored’ in the top right and this will appear
randomly on your Instagram feed while your are
scrolling through, this will also happen with videos
and other types of advertisement.

18. LEGAL AND ETHICAL ISSUES –
INSTAGRAM
With instagram the legal and ethical issues are about following some basic terms that are put in place by the
company to ensure its safe and regulated some of these terms are shown below.
Basic Terms -
- You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service.
- You may not post violent, nude, partially nude, discriminatory, unlawful, infringing, hateful, pornographic or
sexually suggestive photos or other content via the Service.
- You are responsible for any activity that occurs through your account and you agree you will not sell, transfer,
license or assign your account, followers, username, or any account rights. With the exception of people or
businesses that are expressly authorized to create accounts on behalf of their employers or clients, Instagram
prohibits the creation of and you agree that you will not create an account for anyone other than yourself. You
also represent that all information you provide or provided to Instagram upon registration and at all other times
will be true, accurate, current and complete and you agree to update your information as necessary to maintain
its truth and accuracy.

19. PURPOSE - TWITTER
The purpose of twitter is for people to be able to share how
they feel or what they are doing, and the more people enjoy
other peoples tweets the more re-tweets and likes their tweets
will get. The reason twitter is so good is due to the fact that its
not just a place where you can share your feelings through
words but you can also use both pictures and videos to
express your feeling or to show what your tweeting about. So
twitter has an element of both ‘snap chat’ with the use of
videos and ‘instagram’ from the use of photo sharing.
Another thing about twitter is that you are also able to reply to
other peoples tweets, so if someone puts something up that
you either like or dislike you are able to get your opinion
across through the reply button, and this works so that
anybody tagged in the tweet will able apart of this conversation
and will get notified that you have replied.

20. PURPOSE - TWITTER
Twitters main verbal code is ‘yours to discover’ which connotes to the audience that there is a
whole bunch of things that you are able to discover from just being a part of the twitter
community. Also the denotation behind the verbal code ‘yours’ connotes that its your world to
discover and no one else's which appeals to everyone because as they are reading it, it points
them out to join in and use the app. Also the picture of the bird on the logo could illustrate that
it will give you a top view on what's going on in the world as birds gets to see life from a
different perspective, which is how we get to view life through twitter.

21. CONTENT – TWITTER
As you can see twitter has 4 different pages you can visit, so the main
content includes you home page, moments page, notifications page and
messages page. These all have different features and let you do
different thing on twitter, and you also have your profile page which you
can click on and it will tell you how many people you follow, how many
follow you and how many tweets you have sent your whole twitter life.
Under this you can then see a page called ‘trends for you’ and this is ort
of like a top searches bar as it shows you what has been trending on
twitter that day and who's been hash tagging about what, and this helps
you keep up to date with the news.

22. CONTENT – TWITTER
The page on the left is acting as a
sort of cookies page as it takes into
consideration the people you follow
and gives you recommendations of
who you should follow. Furthermore
the main content on twitter is on the
next page as this is where you can
see all of your followers tweets and
this is where you go to make a
tweet. When you open this page it
asks you “What's Happening?” and
this is to encourage you to tweet
more and let your followers know
what your doing.

23. TARGET USER/MEMBERSHIP - TWITTER
The target audience for twitter when looking into socio-economic
needs would fit into the E category, the reason behind this is the
fact that twitter is used by a wide range of both teenagers and
young adults as it’s a place here you can let people know what's
happening and find out day to day information such as the football
score. However this does not mean that higher groups such as C1
and D would also fit into the target user ship as people such as
‘Donald Trump’ and other older users use this software as it a good
way of communicating and expressing your feelings.
But overall to sign up to the application its very easy as there is a
page that takes you straight up to the ‘sign up’ page and you have
to put in a few simple details and then your in, also it’s a free up
with no sign up fee so it appeals to a wide range of users.
Furthermore this may be why it appears to young people as it’s a
free and easy to use app.

24. SOURCES OF REVENUE -
TWITTERTwitter (TWTR) earns 85% or more of its revenue from advertising. In the second
quarter of 2017, Twitter posted an advertising revenue of $503 million, which was an
4% decrease of what the social media site brought in during the same time in 2016.
Twitter uses promoted tweets, promoted accounts and promoted trends. Twitter sells
promoted tweets to marketers, and these then appear in users' Twitter feeds. The
company creates tailored advertising opportunities by using an algorithm to make
sure promoted tweets make it into the right users' timelines. Promoted accounts are
those paid for by an advertiser that Twitter places in targeted users' "Who to Follow"
list.

Twitter rules -

the type of content and behavior that we allow.
All individuals accessing or using Twitter’s services must adhere to the policies set forth in the Twitter Rules.
Failure to do so may result in Twitter taking one or more of the following enforcement actions:
- requiring you to delete prohibited content before you can again create new posts and interact with other Twitter
users;
- temporarily limiting your ability to create posts or interact with other Twitter users;
- asking you to verify account ownership with a phone number or email address; or
- permanently suspending your account(s).

26. SOCIAL EFFECTS
Noam Chomsky stated that social media “erodes normal social behavior”. In my opinion I also feel that social media has
eroded social behavior and this through the fact that people only choose to communicate through social media instead of
having face to face commination. Also even when people choose to meet up in person they will still be on their phones
showing each other Instagram or Facebook videos, so the normal social behavior has slowly been eroded away and has
converted to social media. For example when you see big groups of people in the street they will all be on their phones
not even talking to each other and when they are communication its about stuff on social media, also if you look at people
on the trains and busses instead of talking to each other on their journey everyone will be heads down on their mobile
phones. Another thing is that it can really distract people when it comes them doing work at either work or school, for
example when a child is trying to do their homework if they got a ‘Snapchat’ from someone this could easily distract them
and put them off finishing their work.
A big example of where social behavior being eroded is clearly shown is when this NYPD
officer is posting on social media about how he was arresting protesters on the street and
this was obviously causing offence to other users on Instagram and twitter. This is
connotes how the normal behavior has been eroded as out of anyone a police officer
should know better than to be posting about things like this, and he even posted a picture
with a t-shirt saying ‘I love protesters’. But after this it got taken down as this was not a
normal thing to post and especially from someone that it in charge of keeping the
community safe, so this is why I agree with what Noam Chomsky is saying as if social
media wasn’t about the police officer would have never posted this and would of kept his
thoughts to himself.

27. SOCIAL MEDIA ANALYSIS
This shows that 60% of my audience were male and 40%
of the audience were female which is quite even. This is
what I expected as everyone uses social media its not
really used more by males than females so I would of
expected this to of happened, as it’s a place were
everyone can can communicate with others so all genders
use it.
This is also pretty much how I expected the age
range to be, however I expected more people from
the age range 16-24 to off answered the survey by I
was not surprised about the biggest category being
between 16-24 as this is the age range where social
media websites and apps are used as its an easy
place for us to share things with our friends and
communicate with others.

28. SOCIAL MEDIA ANALYSIS
This connotes that all types of social medias are used
by everyone as every single on that I chose to include
got at least a 40% vote. However there are three clear
top used social media websites which is YouTube,
snapchat and instagram as these were voted that they
got used by everyone that filled in my survey.
Question 4 was asking them what was their favorite social
media and after seeing this It tells me that snapchat is the most
used and favored social media website. I expected this as most
of the audience that answered that answered my questions
were young and this app is used by most off the young
generation, for example if you meet someone new the first
thing they would get is the other persons snapchat. I think this
is due to the picture, video and chat conversations you can
have.

29. SOCIAL MEDIA ANALYSIS
In question 5 I asked my audience why they chose that as their
favorite social media, some of the replies I gained was that Snap
chat was their favorite as its “a good way to send friends funny
pictures” and “get to look at people on their stories”. People like
instagram as “it’s a good way to enjoy others content and give
them feedback through likes and comments”.
I then asked them how they think they preferred social media could
be improved, three of the replies were that there is nothing to
improve which connotes they think their preferred social media is
perfect with no flaws. However some people suggested that you
could “send notifications when the timer comes up on snap chat
and come up with the person you have a streak with” and “age
restrictions on certain sites”.

30. SOCIAL MEDIA ANALYSIS
This question connotes that most people don’t worry to much about
their personal information being leaked as the only votes were 1 and
5. one is not worrying at all and 5 is in the middle so no one was
really worried and if they were it was only a little bit. So most social
media websites must be quite secure or people just don’t assume
that their information would be leaked.
The next question I asked people if they feel privacy settings could
be improved in any way, and from looking at the question before I
was assuming most of the people would not think there's any
improvements. This was the exact result everyone but 1 of the
responses answered “no” and all this was is that they have age
resections on the websites but most of them do, however its just
very easy to lie about your date of birth.

31. SOCIAL MEDIA ANALYSIS
In the 9th question I asked people how much they used
social media a day and the results connote that everyone
uses social media for a large period of time daily. I was
surprised to see that no one used social media for only two
hours and the majority of votes were between 3-5 hours.
However there was an even amount of people that thought
they used it from 6-8 hours to 9 hours + which was very
surprising as that is a huge amount of time to be spending
on social media.
The last question I asked them was if they understood
the terms and conditions on social media websites. I
got a mixed range of answers including a few people
not understanding the terms and conditions to a most
off the audience knowing a little bit about it and a few
people replying yes. I feel that this was the case due to
the fact that the terms and conditions are usually very
long to read through so people just agree.

32. SOCIAL EFFECTS (CONTINUED)

Instagram - They have introduced direct messaging and this is a good
feature as it means you can share posts privately instead of
to all off your followers
- You can edit your photos in many different ways and add
various filters to make it look professional and unique
- You are able to comment and like other Instagram users
post to let them know what you think
- They are able to post as many Instagram posts as
you want, including both pictures and videos which will
then gain likes and comments. People like it as these
posts last forever and you can look back at the
memories you have had and shared with others.
Instagram is bad as it puts down peoples self-expression
and self-confidence as some people may have 10,000
followers and another have only 100. it makes young boys
and girls feel like they are not as good as these other
Instagram models and super stars which get thousands of
likes and comments.
Twitter - You are able to use this app on all products such as
laptops, phone and I pads.
- You can express yourself and get straight to what you want
to say (with 140 characters)
- You can retweet and like other peoples posts that you like
or agree with and if you retweet it, it then comes up on your
feed so more people will see the post
- Twitter is good as it involves many different ways of
communicating with people for example you can do a
normal tweet with text or you can add a video or picture.
You are also able to re-tweet and like other peoples
tweets which is good as some people will tweet things
that you agree with or even tag you in tweets. Also you
are able to tweet links to other social media sites from a
tweet, and the more followers the more people that see
your tweets.
The main issue with twitter is that the fact that you can
retweet and share other peoples tweets means that things
can spread drastically, and this can be done very easily if a
celebrity shares a tweet and many people will just agree
with a celebrity because they look up to them so this this is
bad for the people that are getting their face spread round
twitter as sometimes is for bad reasons.
Snapchat - It’s a platform where you are able to share both videos,
pictures and private messaging, and the main thing about this
application is that the messages disappear after a certain
amount t of time
- You are able to choose the amount of time your snap will last
for and if you send one snap a day to someone it will form a
streak
- Also you have ‘stories’ which is pictures or videos you have
uploaded that everyone on your list can view for 24 hours.
- Snap chats are very fun and unique due to the added
effects and filters that you can put on your ‘snaps’. This
makes the app very fun to use as you can send ‘snaps’
to people that have for example been slowed down or
sped up or even has changed the face of the user. Also
the fact that the snaps go away after 10 seconds means
people send lots of funny and light hearted ‘snaps’.
With Snapchat as you can send pics that will only last for
10 seconds it’s a place where people are very easily
exposed to abusive and inappropriate snap chats. As
people think that it will only last for a few seconds so send
inappropriate snaps, however people can then Snapchat
these snaps which then means they have this forever and
then can spread these images across other social media
websites.

33. SOCIAL EFFECTS (CONTINUED)
There is an application called “Candid” which is an anonymous site where people are able to put
comments and opinions on someone's profile, but the main catch is that you cant see who the
comments are from as they are all anonymous. The founder of the app Bindu Reddy says that she
needed "a place to express myself and engage in discussions where ideas can be debated on their own
merits instead of being used to attack me as a person”. This seems like a harmless reason for creating
the app, but due to the anonymous side of the app it has lead to a large amount of cyber bullying and
has effected lots of young people using the app, as people will post very hurtful and distressing
comments that will put down and even turn people depressed because off how hurtful people can be
knowing that no one will ever know its them. This is why people call this sorts of apps “promoting hate
apps”. Also in 2011 Andrew Keen explained that products like these are effectively encouraging people
to take part in cyber bullying, as it’s anonymous and there's no one that is able to see who is taking part
in all off the bullying.

34. COMMERCIAL USES -
ADVERTISINGPay-Per-Click Advertising –
This is a type of advertisement where search engines such as “Google” give the opportunity for businesses to pay for listing
on the internet so that their website will be higher up on the results when people search for thing. This works very well as
when people search for things they usually go for the top few websites that come up. The business will agree a charge for this
that they will get charged for each click on their website link for example they may bid 20p per click so if 1000 people click on
their website they will be charged £200.
Sponsored Advertising –
This is where a business will sponsor a type of event such as the bank stander sponsored the grand pre event. This is used a
lot more nowadays because when adverts are on the side of websites people are not interested but as this is on an event that
they are interested in its more likely they will look at the sponsors and also it means there will be a larger amount of audiences
looking at the advertisement.
Personal Recommendations –
This type of advertisement is the most trustworthy and very effective, this is because if someone uses a product then shares
their opinion about how good this product was people are going to know this is true as no one has told them to advertise this
product they are just generally satisfied. Furthermore when people start to use your website they will gain trust and spread the
word to friends and family when they are looking for websites that have the same uses.

on Instagram from Ben and jerry’s and you can
tell when a picture is an advert as it will have
sponsored in the top right of the photo. Also

As you can see on twitter there is various types of advertisement techniques that you can use, this is good as it means this social media has a wide range of ways to help
businesses promote and advertise products. One of the main things that will indicate to a user that an account or tweet is sponsored will be an orange arrow pointing up and right

media sites to link together in order to gain a wider target
audience and both use their strengths to help each other
grow. This is done by the Facebook app launching the live
any where you go feature, and cleverly twitter have tapped
into this by making a hash tag which get the feature trending
on twitter and also helps promote Facebook's new feature.
Also as well as just linking these to social medias together
they also decided to post this advert on YouTube so that the
audience have a visual insight of how the new feature is used
and this was a great way to target users as you can see with
over 1 million views.

to introduce their new added feature called ‘memories’, this
advert is quite short as its under a minute long so must include
all the vital information in a short space of time which can be

chat have decided to promote their new feature on their own
making a short and sweet advert which connotes to the audience
how the feature can be used and all the different ways to use the
‘memories’ feature. This was a really effective way as it actually
gained more views than the twitter advert and went viral with
near to 2 million views, which further connotes advert have a
good way with connecting to their audience.
Also snap chat use good conventions to keep their audience

this has now changed, as when you are viewing ‘stories’ on the app videos will pop

promoting new products. But the difference is about snap chat adverts is you can
click on them straight away and they will go away, as for Instagram and twitter they
can also have advertisements without the business paying anything or actually
creating an advert. What I mean by this is say on Instagram a company posted
pictures of new clothing this will be promoting their products but may not be an
official advertisement, and this is the same with twitter when people tweet about
things and promote certain things through hashtags and social media links.

even quote their tweet with your opinion.
However people also think that twitter is bad as the application can be overly used
and draw people in to much. People believe this due to the fact that you are able to
post all different types of tweets, and even re-tweet any other peoples tweet.
Furthermore as you can express your emotion and what your doing people feel to
tweet literally all day long about what their doing and how they are feeling. Also there
is a lack in security as you can go on someone's profile as see everything that they

app has been associated with bad things such as ‘cyber

‘dangerous and for you as a parent to just say no’. Moreover
although there is many bad reviews the app is used by millions

Instagram has a overall better response than snap chat and I think that this is due to the fact
that the application is safer and much easier to edit your privacy setting, as you are able to
change your setting to fit around you. Also if parents are on their and there children want an
account they can set it up so that their posts will only be seen from friends and family and not
by anyone they don’t know. Instagram has a very high rating in both ‘language’ and ‘ease of
play’, but also quite high in ‘language’ and ‘sex; as these are also problems of instagram.
However the difference on instagram is if you see a post or comment you don’t like you can
report the user and it will get taken down and they could get banned, and this is why instagram
can be used by a much younger audience.

In conclusion I chose three of the most popular social media application and
researched deeply into the purpose, layout, target audience, revenue and the ways in
which they advertise. Furthermore I also had to look into both the positives and
negatives of the apps on the aspects of convergences and advertisement's. This is
very important as I will be creating my own so I will need to know the risks and how to
create an application that doesn't’t include these risks. Lastly researching into the
target audience means I can make mine how I think the main audience would like it
and find the ways to advertise to them suing various different ways.
