This document discusses the most common cardiovascular diseases. It begins by defining cardiovascular disease and providing statistics showing they are the leading cause of death globally. The top four diseases in Ecuador are identified as heart failure, myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation, and hypertension. The main causes and risk factors for cardiovascular diseases are then outlined, including high blood pressure, smoking, high cholesterol, diabetes, inactivity, obesity, age, gender, diet, and alcohol. Four main types of cardiovascular diseases - coronary heart disease, strokes, peripheral arterial disease, and aortic disease - are then described. The document concludes that cardiovascular diseases remain the top cause of death and it is important to recognize the different types and their risk factors.
About 29% of American adults, or 70 million people, have high blood pressure. High blood pressure was a contributing factor in over 360,000 deaths in 2013, almost 1000 per day. High blood pressure is diagnosed when blood pressure is above 140/90 and increases the risks of heart attack, stroke, heart failure, and kidney disease. While about half of those with high blood pressure have it under control, nearly a third of American adults have prehypertension. High blood pressure costs the US $46 billion annually.
Heart disease is a leading cause of death in North America, claiming over 610,000 lives in the US in 2012. It is caused by factors like smoking, poor diet, lack of exercise, obesity, family history, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes. Managing these risks factors through a healthy diet, exercise, stress management, and medication can help prevent heart disease. When heart disease occurs, the heart may not pump blood efficiently, depriving cells of oxygen and potentially causing health issues. Common causes of heart disease are high blood pressure, heart attacks, and atherosclerosis, and treatment focuses on diet, exercise, medication, and surgery.
The document discusses heart disease and diabetes. It states that approximately 1 in 544 people are diagnosed with heart disease each year. It explains that heart disease can be caused by eating an unhealthy diet high in fats and sugars, which can lead to diabetes. Diabetes stresses the body and can damage organs like the eyes, kidneys, and heart if blood sugar levels are not controlled. Symptoms of heart disease include chest pain and shortness of breath. Managing heart disease involves lifestyle changes like a healthier diet, exercise, and monitoring symptoms. Both conditions require monitoring and treating risk factors to prevent permanent heart damage.
Hypertension is one of the leading causes of heart attack, heart failure, stroke, and aneurysm. If your blood pressure is over 140/90, you are already considered as hypertensive and lifestyle changes may be in order to bring your blood pressure down to the normal level of under 120/80.
High blood pressure, also called hypertension, is when the force of blood against artery walls is too high and can cause health issues over time. Many people with hypertension do not have symptoms, which is why it is sometimes called the "silent killer." Uncontrolled high blood pressure increases the risk of heart attack, stroke, aneurysm, heart failure, kidney damage, eye problems, dementia and other issues. There are two main types - primary (essential) hypertension which develops gradually over many years and has no identifiable cause for most adults, and secondary hypertension which is caused by an underlying condition like sleep apnea, kidney disease, or hormonal issues. Risk factors include age, race, family history, being overweight, lack of exercise,
Chronic diseases are a major cause of death and disability worldwide. Developing countries are experiencing a rapid rise in chronic diseases due to successful control of infectious diseases, the spread of smoking, and urbanization leading to less exercise and less healthy diets. Over the next 10 years in India, over 60 million people will die from chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. This rise in chronic diseases will have a significant economic impact and burden on healthcare systems. Lifestyle changes such as avoiding tobacco, maintaining a healthy weight and diet, and regular exercise can prevent the majority of chronic diseases.

Lupus is a systematic autoimmune disease which affects the body’s tissues and organs by your own immune system thinking that they are foreign. Lupus is a chronic inflammatory disease that affects various parts of the body including joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, brain, heart, and lungs. Lupus is also known as systemic lupus erythematosus or SLE. The exact cause of lupus is very difficult to diagnose, although it’s a combination of genes, hormones and environmental factors. It affects women between 18 and 40 years of age.
The document discusses the negative physical and mental health effects of being "love sick". It lists several conditions that are made worse by being love sick such as hypertension, arthritis, heart burn, depression, and diabetes. Being love sick can damage the nerves and brain, potentially leading to brain cancer, headaches, nausea, and heart attacks. It causes stress and mental disorders by making it difficult to express oneself freely and comfortably. Overall, being love sick is portrayed as an illness that harms both physical and mental health in many ways.
The document discusses 6 main lifestyle factors - smoking, alcohol, diet, sleep, stress, and exercise - and how they impact health. It provides details on the negative health effects of smoking, including numerous smoking-related diseases. It also discusses the dangers of alcohol consumption, including various alcohol-related diseases and conditions. The document emphasizes the importance of sleep for health and discusses negative outcomes of poor sleep. It also outlines tips for improving sleep habits. The document covers the two types of stress and provides information on how chronic stress can degrade health and negatively impact the brain.
Short term effects of smoking include increased blood pressure and heart rate, reduced blood flow, and temporary stimulation of the brain and nervous system. Long term effects are much more serious and include various cancers, lung and heart diseases, circulatory problems, and damage to fetuses. Quitting smoking can help reverse some effects and improve health, but the risks increase the longer and more one smokes. Overall, there are no benefits to smoking, only health risks.
Signs and symptoms of a stroke include drooping of the face, arms or legs, blurred vision, slurred speech, confusion, weakness or numbness. Key stages include symptoms developing suddenly due to a blockage or bleed in the brain. Location of damage in the brain determines affected areas of the body. Treatment depends on stroke type, such as clot-busting drugs for ischemic strokes. Recovery often occurs in the first few months but can last years with rehabilitation support. Prevention is important as risk of another stroke remains high post-stroke.
The heart is one of essential body organs that directly influence our living. This document discusses the importance of conducting background checks on potential employees. It notes that background checks help minimize risk for companies by providing information on a candidate's history, depending on the position. With increasing focus on workplace safety, more companies are performing background checks. The document recommends conducting checks to avoid liability if a newly hired employee were to become violent. It then provides examples of circumstances where a background check would be especially important, such as when hiring for positions related to terrorism, child/elder abuse, or finance. Finally, it introduces SappHire as a background check company that can thoroughly screen candidates while complying with relevant laws.
A hybrid UC solution that combines on-premises and cloud-based services offers greater flexibility and reliability compared to cloud-only or on-premises only solutions. It allows organizations to take advantage of the benefits of both models like shifting functions between cloud and on-premises as needed and providing backup in the cloud. This hybrid approach can deliver 99.999% uptime and ensure business continuity during outages which can be very costly, resulting in lost revenue, productivity, and reputation.

The term “holiday heart syndrome” refers to alcohol-induced atrial arrhythmias that may occur as a result of overindulging in salty food and alcohol over the holiday season. This condition is one of the most prevalent causes of heart disease.
A stroke occurs when blood flow to the brain is interrupted, depriving brain cells of oxygen and causing them to die. The effects of a stroke depend on which part of the brain is injured. Strokes can cause temporary or permanent disabilities. There are two main types of stroke - ischemic, caused by a clot blocking an artery, and hemorrhagic, caused by a burst blood vessel. Risk factors include high blood pressure, smoking, obesity, and older age. Prevention efforts focus on controlling risk factors through a healthy lifestyle and medications.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, responsible for 40% of all deaths. However, many people ignore or downplay potential heart symptoms rather than seeking medical help. Some heart symptoms can be vague or vary between individuals, making them difficult to identify. Doctors warn against ignoring any heart-related warning signs like chest pain or discomfort, pain in other parts of the body, shortness of breath, nausea, fatigue, dizziness, or sweating, as these may indicate a heart attack or other heart condition. It is better to get potential heart symptoms evaluated by a medical professional than risk permanent health damage or death from untreated heart disease.
Based on their heart attack symptoms, cardiologists will administer treatment to patients. In this blog post, you'll discover the symptoms to watch out for.
Welcome to our discussion on the fascinating topic of the difference between cardiac arrest and a heart attack.
While these terms are often used interchangeably, they actually refer to distinct medical emergencies with varying causes, symptoms, and treatments.
Understanding these differences is crucial as it can save lives and provide clarity in medical situations.
So, let's dive into this essential knowledge and shed light on the disparities between cardiac arrest and a heart attack.
Stress and social support vs Cardio-Vascular DisordersDr. Neeta Gupta
Cardiovascular disease (CVD) refers to conditions that affect the heart or blood vessels. CVD is the leading cause of death globally and can be prevented by addressing behavioral risk factors like smoking, poor diet, obesity, and alcohol use. Long-term stress can increase risk of CVD by raising blood pressure and cholesterol over time. Building social support systems and engaging in regular exercise can help manage stress levels and reduce CVD risk.
Heart disease is a broad term for a range of conditions that affect the heart. It is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States.
while heart is the most important organ in human body, therefore, its care is necessary for continuous and proper flow of blood. In this article, you will get to know about different diseases of a heart and its causes. Knowing them will help you in maintaining better health.

Athletes with heart disease : Possible
causes
Heart disease is not just a problem for the elderly. It is one of the
leading causes of death in athletes, and it can happen to anyone.
Olympians are no exception, and many of them have heart problems
that they didn’t know about.
Olympic athletes are always under a lot of stress, both physically and
emotionally. This can lead to heart problems, including arrhythmias
(irregular heartbeats) and angina (chest pain).
Athletes often have high blood pressure, which can make their hearts
work harder than they should. And because these athletes are so fit,
they often have thinning hearts, which can cause them to experience

1. Understanding the Signs & Symptoms of Heart Attack
Deteriorating lifestyle, increasing stress and obesity and lack of awareness have made
cardiac diseases one of the highest causes of fatalities in the world. According to
estimates over 20 million deaths occur worldwide owing to cardiac diseases. The trend
is fasting catching up in India and over 40% deaths each year will be a direct result of
cardiac problems by the year 2020. While, the situation does appear grave, one must
understand that most cardiac diseases are caused by lifestyle factors which can be
managed and kept in check.
One of the common cardiac diseases is heart attack, wherein the oxygenated blood does
not reach the heart and thereby damaging the heart muscles. This condition is also
known as myocardial infarction.
Although, most people think of Heart Attacks as a sudden, unexpected event, there are
clearly signs & symptoms that one can check and understand. Typical image of a patient
having a heart attack is violent chest pain that occurs completely out of the blue.
However, research shows that up to 30% of the patients never experience chest pain
even they might have had a heart attack.
Some of the common symptoms of heart attack have been given below:
1. Tightness and discomfort in the chest region
2. Nausea, indigestion and acid reflux
3. Pain radiating downwards from the left side of the body, typically, the arm
4. Dizziness and blackouts
5. Exhaustion, fatigue and tiredness
6. Excessive sweating
7. Chronic cough
8. Swelling of the limbs
9. Irregular heart beat
10. Excessive snoring
The symptoms of heart attack vary from one individual to another and do not necessary
follow a particular pattern. However, when you observe some of the above signs it is
better to take preventive measures.
One of the most common symptom is chest pain or discomfort, however, 1 in 3 patients
do not exhibit such a symptom. Persistent coughing or sneezing is an accompanied sign
alongside growing fear and anxiety. The coughing is the result of fluid accumulation in
the lungs. The onset of an impending heart attack can also result in loss of
consciousness and arhythmias.
2. Some of the other common symptoms include - shortage of breath, body pains, nausea
and excessive sweating. Heart attacks often begin slowly and cause only mild pain or
discomfort but gradually become more painful. There is also a possibility that the
symptoms may manifest and disappear every few hours.
However, it is important to note that in certain cases, people can have heart attack
despite not being accompanied by any signs or symptoms – these are known as silent
heart attacks. People with high blood sugar (diabetes) are most likely to have no
symptoms or very mild symptoms of heart attack.
