This document discusses understanding deliverability in Gmail. It notes that Gmail is a challenging platform to navigate for email marketers as its algorithms frequently change. To successfully deliver emails through Gmail requires having knowledge of how Gmail works, access to relevant data, and taking appropriate actions. The document also shares that 34% of Gmail users utilize tabs to sort emails, with the social and promotions tabs being most widely used.

Being blocked and blacklisted should be far less common than they are today, when 34% of marketers have been blocked and nearly 15% have been blacklisted in the past 12 months, according to Litmus’ 2017 State of Email Deliverability report.
After examining the subscriber acquisition, permission, inactivity management, and other practices of more than 3,500 marketers, we’ve identified the root causes of poor inbox placement. We’ve also identified the half-measures marketers take to avoid addressing those root causes.
In this webinar, Research Director Chad White and deliverability expert and Litmus Product Manager Jay Brangiforte discuss the various ways that marketers are trying to improve their deliverability and which ones work best.
Aloha Welcome Email & Unsubscribe Best PracticesSilverpop
The "aloha" stages of email marketing (both hello and goodbye) all too often receive little attention and priority on the email marketer's task list. That's a big "hewa" (mistake), because the welcome email, whether a single message or a series of strategic messages, might be the most important email your company will ever send.
Why? The welcome email is typically your subscriber's first email experience with your brand and sets the tone for the relationship. When done well, you will achieve higher levels of engagement out of the gate and minimize early disengagement and churn.
However, whether it happens early or far into the email relationship, some subscribers will still want to opt out. It is critical that you not only make it easy for them to unsubscribe but also provide logical alternatives to saying goodbye. This could help you capture 25 percent or more of those looking to leave.
This Webinar, designed for beginner to intermediate consumer (B2C) marketers, explains why the email "aloha" process is so important, outlines key best practices and shows numerous good and not-so-good examples of welcome emails and unsubscribe pages.
Overview of why welcome emails are important; key elements of welcome emails; samples of good and bad welcome emails; best practices; and samples of welcome series

Tracing the Origins of Google’s Gmail Accounts is no more difficult with us.pdfTopcashcarremovl
The idea of Gmail accounts originated from Google’s mission to create a more efficient and reliable email service. As Google saw the limitations of existing email solutions, they set out to develop a groundbreaking platform that would address the pain points of users.
The concept of offering a massive storage capacity was one of the key factors that drove the creation of Gmail accounts. Google envisioned that users would no longer have to worry about deleting emails or managing limited storage space. This, in turn, allowed users to have a comprehensive and searchable archive of all their communications.
The idea of threaded conversations was also instrumental in the development of Gmail accounts. By organizing emails into conversations, users could easily follow the flow of discussions and keep related messages in a single thread. This approach enhanced productivity and made it easier to navigate through email conversations.
Another significant factor in the origins of Gmail accounts was Google’s commitment to effective spam filtering. Traditional email services were plagued by unsolicited and often malicious messages, which hampered the overall user experience. Google invested heavily in developing advanced algorithms and machine learning techniques to filter out spam effectively. This focus on spam filtering helped make Gmail accounts more secure and reliable.

Along with Carlo Catajan, Andrea Smith, Tom Sather, and Julie Brown, I share my thoughts on Gmail's impact on email marketing over the past 10 years. My piece focuses on what I see as Gmail's three greatest contributions: (1) Inbox Bifurcation, (2) Social Integration, and (3) Interaction Flow Disruption.
Email enables you to have a one-to-one dialogue with each of your customers, at scale. From persuading potential customers into making a purchase and welcoming them to your brand’s experience when they convert, to rewarding them for returning time and time again and tempting them back when they’ve been absent for a while.

This was presented on 10/29/2014 as part of EEC's involvement in the DMA2014 Post Conference Certification.
Email acquisition continues to be one of the top strategies that marketers struggle with and if to focus on quality or quantity. Additionally, what to ask (if anything) when consumers sign up to receive information from your company. Add to that the deliverability challenges and legal obligations for companies that do business in Canada or the European Union as well as the United States is enough to have anyone’s head spinning. During this session, we will review B2B & B2C best practices in terms of website, shopping cart and mobile acquisition as well as the legal liabilities that you have to be mindful of when asking for an email address. You will take away solid strategies and tactics about how to maximize every entry point of your company.

How to Keep Your Lists Clean and Improve Deliverability
Ideally, your email list would be populated exclusively with the email addresses of people who are actively engaged with your brand and want to receive your emails. However, this is impossible to achieve if your list is comprised of invalid, unverified email addresses. Mistakes happen, people mistype email addresses. But this can lead to increased bounces, which can have a tremendous impact on your deliverability.
Mailbox providers monitor the addresses to which you are sending and will filter or ultimately block your mail if you send to invalid addresses and experience high bounce rates. So what can you do to ensure you maintain a high quality list and inbox placement?
In this webinar, you will learn:
• The importance of maintaining a clean and validated subscriber list
• How to monitor your unknown user rates to gauge your list quality
• Why cleaning your list at point of capture can have a big impact on deliverability
• How Real-Time Email Validation can help ensure you send only to verified subscribers and beat the bounce for good

In software engineering, the right architecture is essential for robust, scalable platforms. Wix has undergone a pivotal shift from event sourcing to a CRUD-based model for its microservices. This talk will chart the course of this pivotal journey.
Event sourcing, which records state changes as immutable events, provided robust auditing and "time travel" debugging for Wix Stores' microservices. Despite its benefits, the complexity it introduced in state management slowed development. Wix responded by adopting a simpler, unified CRUD model. This talk will explore the challenges of event sourcing and the advantages of Wix's new "CRUD on steroids" approach, which streamlines API integration and domain event management while preserving data integrity and system resilience.
Participants will gain valuable insights into Wix's strategies for ensuring atomicity in database updates and event production, as well as caching, materialization, and performance optimization techniques within a distributed system.
Join us to discover how Wix has mastered the art of balancing simplicity and extensibility, and learn how the re-adoption of the modest CRUD has turbocharged their development velocity, resilience, and scalability in a high-growth environment.

Understanding Globus Data Transfers with NetSageGlobus
NetSage is an open privacy-aware network measurement, analysis, and visualization service designed to help end-users visualize and reason about large data transfers. NetSage traditionally has used a combination of passive measurements, including SNMP and flow data, as well as active measurements, mainly perfSONAR, to provide longitudinal network performance data visualization. It has been deployed by dozens of networks world wide, and is supported domestically by the Engagement and Performance Operations Center (EPOC), NSF #2328479. We have recently expanded the NetSage data sources to include logs for Globus data transfers, following the same privacy-preserving approach as for Flow data. Using the logs for the Texas Advanced Computing Center (TACC) as an example, this talk will walk through several different example use cases that NetSage can answer, including: Who is using Globus to share data with my institution, and what kind of performance are they able to achieve? How many transfers has Globus supported for us? Which sites are we sharing the most data with, and how is that changing over time? How is my site using Globus to move data internally, and what kind of performance do we see for those transfers? What percentage of data transfers at my institution used Globus, and how did the overall data transfer performance compare to the Globus users?
Providing Globus Services to Users of JASMIN for Environmental Data AnalysisGlobus
JASMIN is the UK’s high-performance data analysis platform for environmental science, operated by STFC on behalf of the UK Natural Environment Research Council (NERC). In addition to its role in hosting the CEDA Archive (NERC’s long-term repository for climate, atmospheric science & Earth observation data in the UK), JASMIN provides a collaborative platform to a community of around 2,000 scientists in the UK and beyond, providing nearly 400 environmental science projects with working space, compute resources and tools to facilitate their work. High-performance data transfer into and out of JASMIN has always been a key feature, with many scientists bringing model outputs from supercomputers elsewhere in the UK, to analyse against observational or other model data in the CEDA Archive. A growing number of JASMIN users are now realising the benefits of using the Globus service to provide reliable and efficient data movement and other tasks in this and other contexts. Further use cases involve long-distance (intercontinental) transfers to and from JASMIN, and collecting results from a mobile atmospheric radar system, pushing data to JASMIN via a lightweight Globus deployment. We provide details of how Globus fits into our current infrastructure, our experience of the recent migration to GCSv5.4, and of our interest in developing use of the wider ecosystem of Globus services for the benefit of our user community.

Why React Native as a Strategic Advantage for Startup Innovation.pdfayushiqss
Do you know that React Native is being increasingly adopted by startups as well as big companies in the mobile app development industry? Big names like Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest have already integrated this robust open-source framework.
In fact, according to a report by Statista, the number of React Native developers has been steadily increasing over the years, reaching an estimated 1.9 million by the end of 2024. This means that the demand for this framework in the job market has been growing making it a valuable skill.
But what makes React Native so popular for mobile application development? It offers excellent cross-platform capabilities among other benefits. This way, with React Native, developers can write code once and run it on both iOS and Android devices thus saving time and resources leading to shorter development cycles hence faster time-to-market for your app.
Let’s take the example of a startup, which wanted to release their app on both iOS and Android at once. Through the use of React Native they managed to create an app and bring it into the market within a very short period. This helped them gain an advantage over their competitors because they had access to a large user base who were able to generate revenue quickly for them.
