During a meetup I introduced the concept of Mixed Reality comparing to Augmented Reality and Virtual Reality.
After the introduction of Windows Mixed Reality I talked about: HoloLens, Holograms and Gestures.
Virtual reality actually is a technology that uses virtual reality headsets, and sometimes in combination with physical spaces or multi projected environments in order to generate realistic images, sounds and sensations, with high quality virtual reality equipment the user can enjoy in an artificial environment and can look around there.
Augmented Reality; mostly confused with virtual reality is a completely different concept and is extensively implemented in various leading companies' R&D departments to experiment with design and performance characteristics.
Virtual Reality refers to a high-end user interface that involves real-time simulation and interactions through multiple sensorial channels. Virtual reality is also known as Artificial Reality. It us often referred as VR/AR. Virtual reality includes Augmented reality, Windows on web, Immersive VR, Telepresence, Mixed Reality(Augmented Reality), Distributed VR.

Design and Development of Arm Manikin for Blood Pressure and Pulse Simulation IJMER
The purpose of this study is to develop an arm manikin for oscillometric methods of blood
pressure measurement over full clinical range of blood pressure, heart rate. Blood pressure
simulator helps to resolve the uncertainties common in teaching students to take blood pressure.
Simulator allows the pre-setting of values for both systolic and diastolic pressures and provides an
excellent means to practice listening and distinguishing blood pressure sounds prior to actual
clinical experience. With this realistic unit, the student can find the preset results and the instructor
can unfailingly know if the student has performed the procedure accurately. The arm manikin is a
mould made up of rexine material which is coated with ethaflex as a skin material. A small rubber
tube is used as blood vessel and a small micro-speaker for heart beat listening. An external electronic
box is used to make students do the whole practice of blood pressure and pulse measurement. The
compressed air with 2x2 NC solenoid valve and other pneumatic accessories are used to create the
artificial pulses. A small micro-speaker with pre-recorded sound is used to generate heart beating
sound in the antecubital area. A blood pressure sensor MPX5050GP is used to sense the
sphygmomanometer dial pressure. PCB designed using a 16-bit micro-controller with on-chip ADC
and DAC. It has five keys and graphical 16x2 LCD for setting the simulation parameters including
the heart rate, systolic pressure, diastolic pressure.

INVESTIGATING THE USE OF IMPEDANCE PLETHYSMOGRAPHY FOR DETECTING DECREASED BL...Mirza Baig
Literature Review
According to Isabel Morales’ research, the foot impedance plethysmography was carried out with two distinct kinds of electrodes, using 1mA/10kHz and finding the impedance of the foot.
In this study Piuzzi research is an ultimate technique selected that makes use of a current with a frequency of 50 kHz that is injected into the thorax of the subject using a couple of textile electrodes.
In this study of Ramkumar & Babu, blood flow was performed using a fuzzy logic toolbox with many different activities, measured before and after the 25 seconds of breath-holding activity. The plethysmographic waveform of forearm impedance can be used to analyze the changes in a heartbeat that are correlated with the changes in heart stroke volume.
Contribution
In this work we are investigating using multiple electrodes to see the additional data going to make testing easier.
Our research is primarily focusing on the amount of blood flow through the finger of the upper limb for diabetic patients.
Conclusion
The finger-simplified model was created in model geometry. A framework made up of five parts was used to build the finger. (i.e., skin, fat, artery, muscle, and bone)
The study includes COMSOL simulation results compared with experimental results to obtain the optimum parameters for this technique. The COMSOL simulation uses 4 electrodes in different positions with a current of 10mA giving the optimal frequency of 100Hz.
It was shown that multiple electrodes can be useful in obtaining impedance change.
This is useful because signals can not be obtained from one pair, or to further support the results.
The study was performed under normal resting conditions where an experimental procedure was set up to measure the impedance response from the finger.
Experiment results were not conclusive as more sensitive impedance analyzers are required.
This research will be helpful to find out the heartbeat using impedance plethysmography.

The Integrated Spring-Mass Approach to Treating Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
Presented at the Florida Chiropractic Physicians Association Conference in Orlando Florida in 2015
by Dr James Stoxen DC, FSSEMM (hon)
If you have headaches, neck pain, upper back or shoulder pain, you may have thoracic outlet syndrome.
As a syndrome rather than a disease, TOS produces a variety of symptoms that suggest underlying causes, rather pointing directly to a specific ailment. These, atypical symptoms, are the result of persistent compression of nerves, arteries and veins traveling through the thoracic outlet and tunnel.
The thoracic outlet, inlet or compartment is a tunnel located under the shoulder and over the rib cage, where the artery, vein and nerves pass from the chest and neck area into the arm and hand.
It is one of the most underrated, overlooked and misdiagnosed conditions and proves difficult to manage. Medical professionals appreciate that it is probably the most important peripheral nerve compression in the upper extremity. (1)
Thoracic outlet syndrome (TOS) is a complicated disorder and generates great medical controversy.
In this presentation I discuss the Integrated Spring-Mass Approach to examination, treatment and prevention of thoracic outlet syndrome.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The Art Pastor's Guide to Sabbath | Steve ThomasonSteve Thomason
What is the purpose of the Sabbath Law in the Torah. It is interesting to compare how the context of the law shifts from Exodus to Deuteronomy. Who gets to rest, and why?
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2. INTRODUCTIONINTRODUCTION
• The human heart is an organ that provides a continuous blood
circulation through the cardiac cycle and is one of the most vital
organs in the human body.
• The heart is divided into four main chambers: the two upper
chambers are called the left and right atria (singular atrium)
and two lower chambers are called the right and left ventricles.
• Blood flows through the heart in one direction, from the atria to
the ventricles, and out of the great arteries, or the aorta.
• In order to view the operations of the human heart as regards
the pumping of the human blood without cutting open a human
being, the use of computer visualization technique is required.
3. STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEMSTATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM
• Students generally experience challenges
with grasping the required knowledge
about various organs of the body due to
in-availability of non-static three
dimensional representation of human
organs. The need to integrate three
dimensional visualisation tools as a
regular part of educational programmes
arises.
4. AIM OF THE PROJECTAIM OF THE PROJECT
• To develop three dimensional
visualizations for educational use
