2. The Spanish Cuisine Of Spain
The culture of Spain is very diverse and lively. It is filled with beautiful colors like
the dresses of the Flamenco dancers, or the decorations in the late night fiestas. Last
year my school had a foreign exchange student from a little island off the coast of
Spain. Her name was MarГa. She told us all about the crystal blue water that
surrounded her island, and the fiestas her and her friends and familywould go to until

The flamenco was the passionate dance of romance. Finally, the Paso Doble was a
simple one step dance. Most of the literature we talked about was poetry, prose, or
drama. For one of our units my teacher made us write out our own fairytale, and we
had to read it to the class. One of my favorite websites I found for information was
commisceo global, and they explained the cultural aspects of Spain. 94% of
Spaniards are Roman Catholic, and usually in many small towns, the biggest,
grandest building in the town is the church. Also, most holidays were created for
religious reasons, like Three King s Day (January 6) or Holy Week (late March early
April). When MarГa was in Minnesota she did not go to church on Sundays, but she
still participated in our local youth group. The next cultural aspect this website
focused on was family and gender. It explained that most families consisted of
immediate and extended, which helps with financial stability and raising children.
Children were also one of the topics focused on. They say that children were the
prized possessions of the families. They usually started school around 6 and went to
school until they were 16. After school, they could either join the workforce, further
their educations in high school, or do vocational training. Adult men and women had
their own roles while their children were in school. Although they shared the
responsibilities of parenting and house work, women were usually in
3. Figurative Language In The Sun Rising By John Donne
John Donne was born in 1572 in London, England and is known as the founder of
the Metaphysical Poets. Donne was born into a Roman Catholic family and later
moved to the Anglican Church. He was appointed later on as the Chief Secretary to
the Lord Keeper of the Great Seal, however, his secret marriage caused him to lose
his job. Thus, he lived in poverty about a decade until he published his first book anti
Catholic polemic Pseudo Martyr . Now Donne mainly writes romantic poetrythat
reflects his childhood in the Catholic faith and often uses figurative language to
describe his poems.
In the poem The Sun Rising written by John Donne, it describes in three stanzas a
romantic poem set in the speaker s bedroom, where he and his lover lay in bed after
a night of passion. Donne addresses in a rhetorical fashion the sun, as it peeks
through the curtains in the morning, disturbing him and his lover as they lay in bed.
His love for her made him feel invincible, which made the speaker(poet) believe that
he could pick up a fight with the sun. In the first stanza the speaker is upset at the
sun for invading his privacy with his lover. The sun is seen as an unwanted dawn
intruder, invading the couples space. In the second stanza, Donne gets more upset,
Thy beams, so reverend and strong. Why shouldst thou think? I could eclipse and
cloud them with a wink, but that I would not lose her sight so long. (Donne 12 14)
in other words he is saying, You with your strong sun s rays, what
4. Frequency-Following Response Paper
The paper illustrates the differences among individuals in the Frequency following
response (FFR) and its connection with pitch perception. Generally, the FFR is
presumed to introduce the pitch of a particular sound perceived by individuals. FFR
varies among individuals and the reason of this variability is still unknown. However,
the authors of this paper carried out the investigation to find out the relation between
FFR representation of the frequencyof a complex tune and perception of the pitch of
the fundamental frequency.
The FFR to complex sounds varies between all individuals with same characteristics
and healthy body. This gives rise to a question about FFR and its contribution in
auditory system such as how auditory information and cognitive progression is
followed by FFR and how these processes are transformed into behavior tasks which
then results in distinguished pathology and health conditions.

In the first experiment before EEG, subjects performed a computerized listening task
to measure the hearing pitch capacity. Global index of their perceptual preference
was obtained by presenting them two harmonic complex tones. The authors assessed
the subjects with musical experience to find out the connection between perceptual
bias and neural correlates. Subjects were delivered auditory stimuli through
earphones. To evaluate rank correlations between perceptual bias and measures of
musicianship, Spearman s rho was calculated between f0 strength and perceptual bias.
Wilcox on signed rank test was conducted to evaluate differences among f0
distributions. Each subject was visually inspected in respect of time and frequency
domain data. The authors could not find a considerable bond between perceptual bias
and age but the relationship between perceptual bias and f0 strength in the MF

6. Aztec Empire Research Paper
Geology is the science that deals with the earth s composition and structure, as well
as its history. The Aztec empire was one of the main native power houses from the
14th to the 16th century in the Americas. The Aztecs built impressive complex
structures that were considered advanced for their time period, and also had
different views and beliefs of what the earth, and its functions were as opposed to
what we know about the earth today during the modern era. The Aztecs were a tribe
of hunters who lived on the Mexican plateau, and their empire began when they
moved to an island in the middle of lake Texcoco, modern day Mexico city, where an
eagle was found on top of a nopal cactus with a serpent in its beak. The Group of

Slavery was also common in the Aztec empire, and children would occasionally be
traded for a certain amount of cocoa beans, cotton fabrics, or other materials.
Another important feature of the Aztec empire is their religious practices, and the
way they attributed some functions of nature or natural phenomenons to their
deities. The Aztecs practiced a polytheistic religion. They believed in a multitude
of gods and goddesses, whose main functions were to provide resources such as
water, fire, wind, and fertile land to the people. One of the main gods of the Aztec
pantheon is Quetzalcoatl which translates to feathered serpent. The Aztecs attributed
the creation of the human world and the wind element to this god. Strong winds
and tornadoes were believed to be related to Quetzalcoatl in the Aztec culture.
Another main god of the Aztec pantheon was Tlaloc, and he was known as the
giver of water and fertile land. The Aztecs attributed the rains and hurricanes that
occurred during their lifetime to Tlaloc. Fire, rocks, and volcanic eruptions were
attributed to their national god, Tezcatlipoca, which was believed to caused the
most violent eruptions, and be the provider of fire in the Aztec empire. Most of
these gods were also carved into rocks and often used as the basis for many
architecture designs
7. Calpurnia Julius Caesar
At the end of Julius Caesar by William Shakespeare, Antony refers to Brutus by
saying, This was the noblest Roman of them all . I do not think that Brutus was
the noblest character in the play. Quite frankly, I would think that Calpurnia
Caesar, the 3rd and Last wife of Julius would be. She is a caring and loving and
humble wife that has been there for Caesar up to his time of death. You really can
not get more noble than that. Calpurnia is always by his side with him even when
she is not physically with him and always looking out for his best interest even when
he does not look after his best interest for himself.
In the play Calpurnia had a dream/vision that a statue of Caesar was flowing with

Her intentions are noble and deep from her heart and with only the best of

Calpurnia is a strong and intellectual woman. She strongly believes that women are
as equals to men. If she was in a different time she would have probably started the
woman equality movement and fought for them to have rights. She truly believes
that anything a man can do a women can do as well, or even better. Most of the time
she, with nobelist of intentions, is at the side of Julius Caesar her husband and love..
She has a very strong will power and is fully supportive of her husband a true wife
of the Commander of the Roman army and spouse to the future king of Rome, had
her husband lived to see it happen.
One weakness of her s and it is not really a true weakness is that she loves Julius
Caesar too much. Love can be a blessing but can also be a curse. For example, she
is willing to do anything, even get down on her knees and beg for Julius to stay at
home. If Julius leaves her side she is a very quiet and depressed person. Him
leaving her side on the day of her dream makes her very uncomfortable. Calpurnia

JESUS CHRIST IS THE LION OF THE TRIBE OF JUDAH
Jesus is the lion of the tribe of Judah and a descendant from a royal lineage of king
David (Acts 13:22 23; Genesis 49:8 12; Zechariah 2:12; Revelation 5:5; 22:16). Jesus
came as a lamb to the earth, went to the cross of Calvary and prevailed as a lion
(John 1:29; Revelation 5:5 6; Colossians 2:14 15). He is the son of the Highest, a
king whose kingdom and greatness had no end, the only one who is equal with God,
and the ruler of the universe (Luke 1:30 33; Philippians 2:5 7; Colossians 1:14 20).
He is the king of all kings, the Lord of all lords, the God of all gods through whom

The strength of a lion are incredibly power, and they are unbelievably built with
strength which enables them to drag heavy animals which weighs thousands of
pounds from a long distance. The strength of a lion had always been the standard
by which many people had judged a powerful strength. Lions roars very loudly in
such way that it strikes fears into the enemies camp (Amos 3:8; Hosea 11:10;
Revelation 10:3). Lions does not eat dead things, but rather prefers only raw, fresh
meat and blood. The teeth of a lion is very powerful, which are used to tear apart
food (Hosea 5:14). Lions are very diligent and are skillful in hurting their prey and
they know their victims weak points and does not spare them (Psalm 104:21). The
lions are bold, and courageous animas, and are not intimidated by any. They walk
freely in the jungle without fear. They are gentle and tenderly affectionate to their
young ones, as they rub their cheeks among themselves. With this description on the
strength and live of a lion, we can now compare it to the strength and the life of Jesus
Christ who is the lion of the tribe of Judah. Jesus as the Lion of the tribe of Judah
possessed the majestic strength of a lion and the mentality of a warrior (Genesis 49:8

9. Lenz, by Georg Buchner
In Buchner s Lenz , the protagonist is portrayed as a fallen man, disjointed from
society and mentally unstable. Buchner s portrays Lenz s fall into madness in his
narrative style, the use of realisation and the use of nature. Moreover, one can
evaluate their effectiveness in portraying Lenz s descent into madness.
By examining Buchner s narrative style, one can see that it is dissimilar to other
German Romantics. Where Von Kleist seems journalistic in The Marchioness of O..
the narrative in Lenz appears as if it has been disrupted by the protagonist. For
example when the narrator states but at this time he found it annoying that he could
not walk on his head , one can allude that this is Lenz distorting the narrative with his

However, the narrative style is not Buchner s only method for deconstructing the
stability of Lenz. Through a series of religious realisations, Lenz comes to question
the power of God. When delivering the sermon Lenz initially feels improved
however it seemed to him that the universe was full of wounds; this caused him
deep unspeakable pain. One can infer that Lenz has realised the suffering of those
around him that questions his own reliance on religion as crutch. Moreover, it could
imply a lack of faith in God. It is after these religious realisations that Lenz has
episodes of madness.
He was alone, alone! The brook murmured, streams poured from his eyes, he
hunched himself together, his limbs quivered and he felt he must disintegrate, so
endless was the voluptuous pleasure of it. At last it dawned upon him: he felt a deep
pity for himself, he wept for himself; his head sank upon his breast and he fell asleep.
In this instance, hunched quivered and disintegrate connote unnatural movement that
could infer Lenz s mental state. Moreover, with the use of voluptuous pleasure one
could allude that Lenz was enjoying his suffering, as if he deserved it. Due to these
attacks occurring after religious realisations, one could imply that religion has a deep
effect on Lenz s Psyche. It seems that as Lenz becomes more
10. Social Challenges In Social Work
The resilience and determination of people through adverse conditions has been a
driving force in the reasons I choose this profession, and why I continue to choose it
every day. In particular, family challenges have been an interest of mine, and I have
always been captivated in understanding the social layers which affect their lives.
My family has undergone adverse circumstances, which has resulted in
intergenerational trauma. My sister had three children who were removed from
her care and placed for closed adoption, as a result of her ongoing mental health
challenges. When my first nephew was born, I re experienced significant
traumatic childhood events; he was placed into protective care. I was not aware of
the apprehension plan. As someone who was invested in this child s life, I stepped
up to be a significant family member. At the time I was the only family member
able to have visitation with him, thus stepping into a maternal role. His birth and
eventual adoption was a turning point in my life. It forced me into a position where
I had to become completely estranged from my biological family. At that moment, I
decided I needed to be a part of changing the social injustices I experienced and
witnessed through obtaining a bachelor of social work.
I grew up in a home environment that did not value education, and in which I entered
various social systems, one being children protection. I have witnessed and
experienced oppression and the effects of becoming an
11. Child Marriage Is A Violation Of Children
Child marriage is a forced marriage where the individual or individuals are children
and under the age of 18 who cannot or do not consent to being married (Jelenic
Keeley 2013). This essay argues that the best way to prevent child marriage in
Australia is to generate tougher criminalisation laws. The essay will begin by briefly
outlining the extent of child marriagein Australia before going on to illustrate a case
study that expresses the issue. The essay will then argue potential solutions, including
means of tougher criminalisation for offenders. It will further consider the
importance of education for children and touch on methods to raise awareness, before
drawing on ways the community can work together to prevent child marriage. Finally
the essay will reflect on the arguments taken and conclude with the best way to
prevent child marriage in Australia.
Child marriage is a violation of children s human rights and often involves
physical, emotional, financial, sexual or psychological pressure and abuse
(Levesque 1999). Approximately 14 million children as young as 8 years of age
fall victim to child marriages worldwide each year, robbing them of their childhood,
education and future dreams (Quinell 2015). A study conducted by the National
Children s and Youth Law Centre identified over 250 cases of child marriages in
Australia over 24 months (Jelenic Keeley 2013). The study confirmed that over 15
Australian children are being sent overseas each year for a forced
12. The Role of P2X Receptors in Nociception
Introduction
Nociception is the sensation of pain which is normally a warning signal to brain in
respond to a potential hazard. Generally noxious stimulations are detected by
specialised high threshold sensory neurons, which are refer to nociceptors. The
signals are then transferred to an electrical potential and conducted to the brain via
spinal cord. However sometimes abnormal nociception can lead to a moderate to
severe pain although a noxious stimulus is missing. This kind of pain are usually
trigger by nerve injury, while the pain sensation remains after the tissue had been
healed. Although the prevalence of neuropathic pain is not significant, about 7% to
8% of the European population is affected, and about 5% are suffering severe pain
(Torrance et al., 2006; Bouhassira et al., 2008). Normally the neuropathic pain is
induced by injury of somatosensory nerves, and the pain remains after the tissue
being healed. It can bring abnormal nociception while noxious stimuli are missing,
which called dysesthesia. Beside, pain can be triggered by non painful stimuli,
which is called allodynia). Many research has linked the neuropathic pain to
neuronal damages where endogenous ATP being released. Therefore purinergic
receptors that can respond to ATP are involved. In this essay, after a brief
introduction of P2X receptors, the role of microglial P2X4 and P2X7 in neuropathic
pain will be discussed.
Purinergic receptor can be divided into two families based on their different

16. Building Effective Service Learning Programs in Local...
Kids these days have a bad rap. Adults who don t regularly interact with high school
students may only see the negative side of the adolescents in their community. In
fact, sixty one percent of American adults are convinced that today s youth face a
crisis in their values and morals, look at teenagers with misgiving and view them as
undisciplined, disrespectful, and unfriendly (Latham, 2003). One way to help change
the attitudes of adults and also encourage youth personal development is service
learning programs in local communities. By participating in service learning
programs, students learn how to navigate group dynamics, diversify their peer group

(Middleton Kelly, 1996). One of the biggest issues stems from a lack of facilitation
on the larger social issues involved with community service. When there is a proper
forum to discuss the experiences they receive while volunteering, students are given a
chance to understand how policies and civic involvement play a direct role in the
lives of people in their communities. (Lakin Mahoney, 2006).
Another issue is content involved in the community service activities. If teenagers are
thrust into a volunteer situation they don t understand or feel that they are simply
being assigned made up work, it can actually have a detrimental effect (Tugend,
2010). One way to make the most of volunteer opportunities is to specifically design
the content around areas of student development. By focusing on key content areas,
students learn how to use their current skill set to navigate new experiences and
difficult situations. (Lakin Mahoney, 2006). A well organized and thoughtful
volunteer opportunity has proven time and time again to be a positive experience for
youth. There are many studies that discuss the character building benefits of service
learning. Students who participate have higher academic achievements, develop
critical thinking, problem solving, decision making, planning and organizing skills
and expand their social circles. A student who volunteers is more likely to volunteer
and vote as adult. (Latham, 2003).

17. Advantages And Disadvantages Of Bio Composite
Through research about composite and bio composite, there are many advantage and
disadvantages in aircraft construction. Definition for composite, a material that are
made from two or more constituent materials with significantly different physical or
chemical properties when combined, produce a material with characteristic different
from the individual components. The individual components remain separate and
distinct within the finished structure. In aircraft, the first composite aircraft was in
1916, era of World War 1, when British launched a Bristol Scout from Felixstowe.
Between the World War, American experiments with airship composites led to the
construction of two aircraft carriers, while the British Short Mayo seaplane
composite demonstrated successful transatlantic mail delivery. During the Second
World War, some composites saw operational use including the Mistel, the larger
unmanned component of a composite aircraft configuration developed in Germany at
the end of World War 2. Experiments continued into the jet age, with large aircraft
carrying fully capable parasite fighters or reconnaissance drones.

Decades have passed and the debate continues. This discussion is not limited to fast
bowling but applies to general skill acquisition as a whole.
Most of the research related to fast bowling has focused on biomechanics and back
injury prevention and very limited work has been done with factors contributing to
bowling speeds. This limited amount mainly consists of theoretical papers, which
provide a synthesis of arguments from different papers rather than using a dataset to
deduce empirical evidence. The difficultly associated with conducting experiments
with a small sample size (limited number of bowlers) and a small number of
observations (few deliveries per bowler) may be the reason for the lack of research in
this area.
A fast bowler s training involves a lot more strength and conditioning than a batsman
or any other type of bowler. This highlights the fact that anthropometric factors are of
great significance to generating high bowling speeds. This research will attempt to
identify the most important anthropometric factors and how well those possibly
explain the difference(s) in bowling speeds. To date, little or no attempt has been
made to classify anthropometric factors vis Г vis fast bowlers as either genetic or
20. environmental. Furthermore, research has drawn a line between genetic and
environmental factors and has not considered the two as interdependent.

21. The Case Of Buffalo For Real
The narrative that gets told about a city influences public policies, economic
development initiatives, and even civic morale and engagement. For example, in the
case of Buffalo, pervasive myths about high property tax rates have influenced the
public s perception about the funding of public programs and fed the desire for
irresponsible tax cuts. Similarly, stories that fail to acknowledge issues of poverty,
inequality, and segregation marginalize certain groups and hinder constructive
dialogue on how to fix these issues. Many of the solutions previously proposed to
make Buffalo prosper, assumed that the city was in dire straits. While it is true that
Buffalo had been hit by hard times, haphazard attempts at economic developments

In 2010, the poverty rate was 29.6% and the unemployment rate is currently 12.4%.
In addition, most of the poverty is concentrated on the west side and the east side.
These issues have been compounded by a dwindling population as many choose to
avoid the inner city poverty in favor of living in the surrounding suburbs. With that
being said, Buffalo has many underutilized or unrecognized resources. First, Buffalo
has access to the Great Lakes. As water scarcity becomes a more pressing issue, the
Great Lakes will become an even more valuable resource. Buffalo needs to
recognize the value of this resource and stop dumping raw sewage into the water.
Second, the city is located near Niagara Falls, one of the biggest tourist attractions in
the world. The only problem is that Buffalo doesn t have as many attractions to keep
tourist in the area for a longer period. Also, its rich past has endowed it with
magnificent architecture and historic landmarks. By accentuating these locations,
Buffalo could increase its tourism traffic. The economic situation in Buffalo has been
bleak, but its proximity to Toronto could lead to a resurgence if the city s prime
location is utilized. By taking stock of the resources that it has at its disposal, Buffalo
can change the narrative about its future

23. Improper Building Maintenance Essay
In Malaysia, the idea of a specific and systematic facility audit for effectiveness,
efficiency and performance is in early stages (Musa, 2012). The awareness level
from the society is very low. The costly repairs and maintenance may be done as a
routine practices, but when the economy is booming only emergency maintenanceand
repair is attempted (Musa, 2012). (Zunguzane, Smallwood, Emuze, 2012) added that,
the damages and costly repair works are the causes from the improper building
maintenance. This has shown us that the main concern was not executed for the
maintenance works for the available facilities in Malaysia.
The purpose of building maintenance is essentially to retain its values for investment,
aesthetic, safety, durability, with a view to ensuring that the property is fit for its
purposes and to the satisfaction of the owner(s)/users (Brennan, 2010). Furthermore,
effective, efficient and quality are essential aspects in the building maintenance. The
non perform of the significant aspects caused the failure of a building maintenance.
Zunguzane et al., (2012) describe the non perform of significant aspects caused the
dissatisfaction of client and/or building occupants.
Moreover, the non perform of essential aspects can result in delays in building
maintenance projects and the need for rework, which can result in a significant
financial loss. Effective, efficient and quality focuses on eliminating defects and
variations and seeks to avoid waste of time,

For the past three and a half years I have been in the school band. I ve taken part in
the concert band, marching band, and I even took jazz band. It all began when I
set up my schedule for sixth grade. I knew I wanted to be in band for a very long
time, but I had no idea what I should play. Just a few weeks before sixth grade,
when it was time to build my schedule, I was still struggling with what I wanted to
try. Finally just before we turned in the form, my mom suggested I attempt playing
percussion. It was like a switch had been flipped. I found what I was meant to play.
Percussion instruments are all instruments played by striking with the hand, beater,
pedal operated or handheld stick, or by shaking or cranking. Percussion instruments
include drums, cymbals, keyed instruments, and all sorts of rattles. It didn t even
cross my mind that a mostly boys would be interested in playing drums until the
first day of school when I saw who was in the section with me. The first year was
very exciting but looking back on it I had no idea how much better it would get. That
time was just an introduction to everything that was to come. We spent the 180 day
school year learning to count rhythms, read notes, play the notes, and use proper
technique. At that time they only let us play bells. All the songs were simple, but I
thought it was fantastic. I was constantly battling Reuben Daniels for first chair. We
both had an aptitude for percussion instruments. Back then there was one
25. Unreliable Narrator In Fiction
In the article, The Unreliable Narrator in Fiction , by Ginny Wiehardt, the author
states that an unreliable narrator cannot be trusted. The reasons behind this statement
are rather simple. An unreliable narrator will, more often than not, speak with a bias,
make mistakes, or even lie. Moreover, the author explains that a narratorwho is
unintentionally unreliable gives the reader an opportunity to better understand the
way adult characters behave toward each other. Furthermore, the author states that an
intentionally unreliable narratoris rather frightening in comparison to an
unintentionally unreliable narrator.
Based on the information in the article the author s purpose should be easy to
determine. The author states where the term unreliable narrative originates from, and
also lists examples of unreliable narratives in novels. For example, A Gesture Life...
The Catcher in the Rye... To Kill a Mockingbird... Lolita.. The Tell Tale Heart
(Wiehardt). Lastly, the author specifies the types of unreliable narrators and the
purposes an author has for making the narrator unreliable. As a result, the author s
purpose is to inform the readers about unreliable narrators.
The author has both a bias and a tone these can be identified by finding the ... Show

canned fruit, and soaps. If I had continued forward I would have passed the checkout

At the edge of the drugstore are racks of small stuffed animals and other cheap
gifts. The drugstore area itself is laid out in orderly rows. The shelves are lower
than in the main part of the store; my guess is that they were created to ease the
look out for shoplifters. Ads featuring smiling, multiracial, families adorn the ends
of the aisles. Each of which contains a carefully ordered section of items that go
together; each of these sections is then arranged by brand. This creates uniform
blocks of brand names and logos; the toothbrush section is, at first glance, a display
of Colgate and Oral logos. The drugstore has a wood, or fake wood, floor in contrast
to the shiny, white industrial tile that floors the rest of the store. The shelves are
wood look alikes. The store seems to have made an effort to create a more natural
looking environment for the drugstore, or health and beauty, section. This natural
tone is meant to convey a feeling of health, freshness, and cleanliness.

Introduction
Since the introduction of bus service tendering in London in the mid 1980s, there
has been, according to London Transport Buses (1999), a dramatic improvement in
both the quality of bus services provided and the value for money achieved.
However, the rules of the game have changed considerably over time. Whereas in
the first instance a gross cost regime was used to let just a part of the network to
public sector operators, in recent years the whole of the network has been let in ...

The last of these contracts expired earlier this year. To complete the process, the
Tendered Bus Division started to let competitive net cost contracts alongside
competitive gross cost contracts, the aim being to use the type of contract in any
particular case which delivered the best value for money and incentivised operators
to improve service quality. As of June 1999, only gross cost contracts have been
offered.
Impacts of tendering
London Transport Buses (1999) claims a dramatic improvement in both the quality
of bus services provided and the value for money achieved. Other authors have
assessed these claims: White (2000), White and Tough (1995), Kennedy (1995b).
Salient features include: cost reductions of 47% per bus mile between 1985/6 and
1998/9 (White, 2000); a reduction in the number of bids per contract from 7 in
early 1995 to 3 in late 1996 (ibid.); cheaper costs to the tendering authority of about
10% per bus mile for gross contracts rather than net (White and Tough, 1995); and
lower bid prices as the number of bids exceeds four (Kennedy, 1995b).
PART B: PRINCIUPLES OF BUS TENDERING
We mean by tendering the allocation [by government agency] of a protected or
exclusive right to exploit or carry out an activity (Baldwin and Cave, 1999) such that
consumers or the public gain an advantage for example, an efficiently produced and
competitively priced service (ibid.).

33. Hell In The Gospel Of John, And St. Thomas Aquinas
Hell is recognized as an extremely difficult doctrine for many to accept, due to its
nature of opposing the very notion of a benevolent God. Although God grants the
gift of mercy and infinite love to all, a soul can be damned to Hell due to the gift of
free will and the rejection of God s love. In the teachings and works of the Bible, the
Catechism of the Catholic Church, and St. Thomas Aquinas, the interpretation of
Heaven and its counterpart Hell are found in their attempt to explain the contradictory
essence of Gods altruistic love and the potential of eternal punishment. It has been
clearly denoted that the Gift of God s free will is the primary reason for one
condemning themselves to Hell or entering the Kingdom of God in Heaven. God s...

In chapters five and seven of the Book of Matthew, it reveals that some may not be
granted entrance to the Kingdom of Heaven after facing judgment. An analogy is
made that the good tree of heaven cannot possibly bear bad fruit just like a bad tree
cannot bear that of good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut
down and thrown into the fire. So by their fruits you will know them (Matthew 7:
19 20) indicating the tradition view of Hell being a dark, fiery, pit of depraved
spirits. In the Gospel of Mark, Hell is referred to as Gehenna which is a term
associated in Hebrew scripture that dictates it a place of the wicked. Hell is a place
where God s judgment has inscribed the sin filled life upon one s spirit. In the
Gospel of Luke, Hell is referred to as a place where sinners are perished . In the
parable of the rich man and lazarus, the rich man whom deemed to hell requests to
warn his brothers of the afterlife, Then Abraham said, If they will not listen to
Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded if someone should rise
from the dead (Luke 16: 31). This draws a similar comparison to the rejection of
Jesus s resurrection in the greatest sacrifice to repent for all humankind s sins. God
grants the gift of mercy and infinite love to all, but a soul can be condemned to Hell

Next, I will analyze Carl Cohen s premises. Cohen s arguments about disagreeing
animal s right that contains of two premises to conclude that animals cannot have
rights, the premises have some contradictions. The first premise which is any beings
can have rights if they have free moral judgement, is logically strong. It is strong due
to the fact that all beings have to respect each other s rights if they understand what
the judgement is. Like golden rule, beings treated each beings the same when the
other beings understand. But, if there is something that make the beings to speak out,
they can do so because other beings are treating it the same way. Beings can have
rights because they understand that they have to fight for one if one does not

40. John Lewis March Analysis
Through Trial and Tribulation
John Lewis has never let his 40+ arrest affect what he stands for. In Lewis book
March, he tells his story of segregation in the 60 s and the events that shaped his
life. From when he was a little kid, to an older adult, March displays Lewis deal
with the segregation in the south, and the hard ships others endure. Although he
experienced many events in his life, John Lewis used those events to build himself
religiously and help others. Receiving his first bible, Jim Lawsons workshops, his
decision not to go to college and Martin Luther King s speech all helped him
become who he is. One of Lewis earliest turning points in his life was when his
uncle gave him his first bible. Lewis recalls, Growing up, what I really wanted to
be was a preacher. An uncle gave me a bible for Christmas when I was four. (Lewis
26) Even before he received the bible, Lewis had strong religious views and the
bible gave him that extra encouragement. Lewis said, So I preached to my chickens
about every night. (Lewis 27) This showed Lewis dedication to his bible and even
though the chickens couldn t quite understand, it was a beginning for him. He
stated, I imagined they (chickens) were my congregation, and me I was a preacher.
(Lewis 28) Even as a child, Lewis imagined him preaching to a larger crowd beyond
the rural chicken farm of Alabama. The bible directed him toward his religious path,
and eventually the teachings on nonviolence. Another important turning point in
Lewis life was when he decided not to go to college. It wasn t that he didn t want
to go to college, but that Lewis felt that helping others were more important. On his
application for the freedom riders, he wrote, I know that education is important
and I hope to get one, but human dignity is the most important thing in my life.
(Lewis 30) In other words, Lewis was willing to put his entire life on hold in able to
help others and stand up for what he believed in. After being told no by his parents,
he said, In Nashville I d meet people who opened my eyes to a sense of values that
would forever dominate my moral philosophy the way of peace, the way of love, the

You are required to take the class as a preventive measure to issues related to
parenting that often arise from divorce situations. The number of family related court
filings has been increasing throughout the years. Families have been relying on the
courts more and more to provide resolutions for problems related to divorce: child
custody, visitation, parenting time conflicts, child support, paternity, restraining
orders, emergency protective orders, etc. This has led the courts to assume that
parental conflict in relation to divorce is a societal concern. Children suffer potential
harm, both short term and long term, effecting emotional, economic, and educational
states during transitional periods during and post divorce. The mandated parent
education classes are the court s response to the societal
42. Mrc, Inc. (a)
Case summary:
MRC, Inc. is a Cleveland based manufacturing company specialized in power brake
systems for trucks, buses, and automobiles; industrial furnaces and heat treating
equipment; and automobile, truck and bus frames. As till 1957 most of MRC s
sales were made to less than a dozen large companies in the automotive industry, it
was exposed to the risk inherent in selling to a few customers in a very cyclical and
competitive market. To minimize the risk and to explore new business opportunity
MRC s management decided to diversify their business operation. After their fifth
successful acquisition, the CEO of MRC Archibald Brinton faced with a dilemma of

Q3. Should MRC acquire ARI at the price now available? In answering this question,
consider (at least) the following two alternatives frameworks:
Valuation based on projected cash flows, using a discount rate of 15%;
A situation where MRC must liquidate ARI immediately.
Ans. We know, business valuation is a process and a set of procedures used to
estimate the economic value of an owner s interest in a business. Valuation is
usually used by financial market participants to determine the price they are willing
to pay or receive to acquire a business. In addition to estimating the selling price of a
business, the same valuation tools are often used by business appraisers to resolve
disputes related to estate and gift taxation, divorce litigation, allocate business
purchase price among business assets, establish a formula for estimating the value of
partners ownership interest for buy sell agreements, and many other business and
legal purposes.
One of the most common used methods of valuation of a business is Discounted Cash
Flow method . This method estimates the value of an asset based on its expected
future cash flows, which are discounted to the present (i.e., the present value). This
concept of discounting future money is commonly known as the time value of
money. For instance, an asset that matures and pays $1 in
43. Communication through Fashion
1. Identity is people s concepts of who they are, of what sort of people they are, and
how they relate to others (Hogg and Abrams: 1988: 2)
To gain knowledge of how we communicate to others through the way we dress, we
have to first understand what identity is. Identity is what we choose to represent
ourselves as, be that a gender identity, a sexual identity; it is completely up to the
individual as a person to make that choice. Identity forms the basis of one s pride
and being accepted socially only adds to that ego and integrity. The psychology of
the matter is the way we dress is more or less based on our moods, habits,
inspirations, past, present and future. The character of a person is reflected in the
way that they dress, Clothing can act as a simple glance into someone s life, as we
are already know that different clothing can represent different means of culture;
Clothes are used a language to communicate with society and to commonly let them
know what you want to be viewed as.
Social categories have two distinguishing features. First, they are defined and by
implicit or explicit rules of membership, according to which individuals are assigned
or not to the category (some examples are discussed below). Second, social
categories are understood in terms of sets of characteristics { for example, beliefs,
desires, moral commitments, or physical attributes { thought typical of members of
the category, or behaviours expected or obliged of members in certain situations,

Executive Summary Dr. Bronner s Magic Soaps has the capability to expand into
Tanzania based on its key resources and strengths in the company. Tanzania is the
right country to enter because of recent economic and urban development with a need
for the product. Dr. Bronner s will have to be aware of the competitive rivalry and
threat of substitutes in the industry to be successful. Also, the political, economical
and social factors must be taken seriously before entering.
Introduction
Dr. Bronner s Magic Soap, the number one selling organic soap in North America has
expanded into twenty nine different countries. However, an expansion into Tanzania
would be the first movement into a country in Africa for the family owned business.
There is great complexity in expanding into a new country, but certainly when it is a
new continent. After analyzing the company and the product in the first installment, I
will be now evaluating the country and the industry using a Porter s five forces
analysis and PESTLE analysis.
Country Analysis Tanzania is a developing nation located in East Africa in the
African Great Lakes region. Despite its low per capita income, Tanzania has
established a significant growth rate in the last several years. There are several
reasons Dr. Bronner s Magic Soap should invest in the country due to projected
economic development, future urbanization, intriguing cities to invest, and a serious
need for the product.

45. Child Labor Essay
Child Labor Child labor is a pervasive problem throughout the global economy,
especially in the markets of developing countries. With over 90% of the total child
labor market employed in the rural areas of Asia and Africa largely due to lack of
enforcement, it is argued that something has to be done. Although the majority of
people are ethically appalled by child labor, and against the exploitation of
children, is the worldwide eradication of the worst forms of child labor really a
feasible alternative? To answer this question people have to take into account a
variety of factors involving both the economic and social costs, as well as have a
firm understanding of the situations people are faced with in these underdeveloped...

With a vast amount of resources and huge demand for finished goods, child labor
including the worst forms of bonded labor were used in both the US and UK to
produce goods at the lowest possible cost. So to tell governments of impoverished
nations to ban the practices that helped make industrialized nations what they are
today is counterintuitive. For the US and the UK as well as others have relied on
the use of child labor during their time of industrial development. This is a large
reason why some third world governments are willing to turn a blind eye to some
of the practices going on in their countries. Because there is hope that they too will
develop industry by attracting foreign investment with the lure of cheap labor, and
one day be able to emerge as an industrialized nation as did the US and the UK. So
how does child labor help increase investment, and make children better off? This
is a very strong argument for the proponents of child labor. The governments of
these countries understand that a child working 14 hours a day in a factory isn t
what is best for that child. But when you consider the alternatives, is working in a
factory for less than a dollar a day really making a child or their future worse off?
Some would argue no. Primarily because of the economic advantages that can be
gained by luring investment with the promise of high profits due to a cheap labor
market. Krugman outlines many of the benefits that can come from child

Physical Therapy Physical Therapy also abbreviated as PT is a medical field that
applies physical methods for reducing pain and managing or preventing possible
impairments or disabilities in patients. Instead of drugs or surgeries, mechanical
movements, massages and specific exercises are used to help the patients. Not only
does that prevent you from getting an extremely highly priced surgery but also it
saves you from the long period of drug use that follows after it. PTs treat patients
individually and develop a specific plan and regimen for each patient that caters to
the patients needs. Physical Therapy practice is not only in hospitals but also in
Hospices, extended care facilities, homes, fitness centers, rehab facilities and so on.
Physical therapy has a long and rich history. It began as just being assistant to the

physicians and surgeons for taking care for the soldiers affected by the war. And this

50. Essay on The Turn of the Screw by Henry James
How far does The Turn of the Screw conform to the conventions of the
Victorian ghost story genre? What alternative interpretations does it lend itself to?
The Turn of the Screw was written by Henry James in the nineteenth century, when
the belief that living people were in contact with the dead was prevalent. In the
Victorian era the advance of science was undermining religious beliefs, because
evolutionists were saying that the world had not been created in 4004BC, as the bible
suggests.
Therefore, the possibility of contacting the spirits restored some faith in the non
material world. The era it was written in does suggest that The Turn of the Screwis
merely a classic ghost story, but Henry James has integrated ... Show more content on

When the reader then discovers that the manuscript is kept in a locked drawer and
has not been out for years due to the dreadful dreadfulness! of the tale, the mysterious
atmosphere is strengthened. It is at this point in the novel that
Henry James ensures that the reader will finish reading the book, because they will
want to know what the Governess is hiding and why.
One of the obvious reasons for this, to the reader, is that the
Governess did not want anyone to hear her story due to it s hard hitting content. This
reason is made apparent to the reader from the metaphor Turn of the Screw , which
gives the impression that the story will have a deep emotional impact on them like a
screw being forced into a wall. Adding a particular touch to the story are the two
children, who give the effect of two turns . This shows the reader that the story will
have a deeper impact on them than they originally thought, because the depth of the
screw is dictated by the amount of turns forced upon it and also represents the
impression made on the reader. Consequently, if the screw is turned twice then the
story will have twice the impact. Douglas wincing grimace at the thought of the story
supports the reader s assumption that The Turn of the Screw is a horrific ghost story,
but nothing more psychological than that. However, alternative interpretations
suggest that the prologue is used
