2. Pendant/Upright Sprinklers
Pendent Sprinklers have deflectors
below the sprinklers, while upright
sprinklers are mounted with
deflectors above the sprinklers. Many
industries use pendent sprinklers in
areas with finished ceilings, and
upright sprinklers are used in areas
without finished ceilings. Concealed
pendent and recessed pendent
sprinklers are also there. Recessed
pendent sprinklers body is partially
fitted in ceiling surface while
concealed sprinklers body is
completely hidden above a cover
plate.

3. Sidewall Sprinklers
Sidewall sprinklers are usually employed
when sprinkler fitting in the ceiling is not
feasible due to section geometry or some
other issues. These sprinklers have
different design specifications than
standard spray sprinklers and are
projected horizontally from the wall. The
major concerns are the difficult
concealing piping in the walls and limited
space that can be preserved by sidewall
sprinklers.
