Tyler Ivey discusses his favorite assignments, journals, and module from his general studies class. He enjoyed the DAPPS goal setting assignment, a blog reflection, and a service learning paper. His favorite journals included setting long-term goals and writing about integrity and depression. Module 6 was his favorite as it involved problem solving and community service. He will take studying skills from Dr. Chew and the DAPPS system with him. His lifelong dream is to play major league baseball.

2. MY TOP 3 FAVORITE ASSIGNMENTS
1. DAPPS goal setting- this was important to me because it helped
me set a well thought out goal. The DAPPS system helps you really
think about what you really want to accomplish. It helps you break
down your goal and determine what you need to do to achieve it.
2. Blog reflection- it helped me see that we need to pay more
attention to what we do in our everyday lives. It helped me
understand how much more thought we could put into ourselves. I
also enjoyed reading the article with it.
3. Service learning paper- I enjoyed this because it forced me to go
out and help others for free. I really did enjoy that. I feel like helping
others is a big part of being the best you can be.

3. MY FAVORITE JOURNALS
1. chapter 3 entry 11- I enjoyed this because I liked deeply explaining
the setting of a long term goal. The detail you had to put in was
enjoyable. I would love for that to actually happen.
2. chapter 7, entry 28- I enjoyed speaking about a time where I used
integrity. That story was crazy and it reminded me of my morals.
Looking back on it now I am glad I did what I did.
3. chapter 8 entry 29- I enjoyed writing about a time that I felt
depressed. Looking back on it, ive gotten over it. Writing about also
winning an SEC championship was fun because I got to kind of feel
how it felt all over again when I described it.

4. MY FAVORITE MODULE
I would have to say that module 6 was my favorite. I say this because
it had problem solving skills involved and I also enjoyed doing the
community service part.

5. LESSONS I WILL TAKE WITH ME…
I think the biggest one I could take would be the series of videos by
Dr. Chew on how to be a better studier.
Another one would have to be the DAPPS goal setting system because
setting goals correctly is important to achieving them.
The last one would be the community service, just because it made
me want to help people in whatever is going on.

I have become a more self-responsible person for sure. I now make
sure all of my homework is done before I go do things I enjoy. This
semester and class has for sure helped me become a better student.

8. LETTER TO THE NEXT CLASS
HIGHLIGHTS
I think that the biggest thing is knowing that this class could not only
help your GPA but will help you be better in other classes. Especially
ones that you find trouble in.
One huge thing from my letter is that I realized that I was not a great
studier.
This class will make you a better studier.

The videos by Dr. Chew will be tedious but will help
The study habits in this class will help if you do them on a
CONSISTANT basis.
Doing things in this class that are assigned may make you not only a
better student, but a better person.

10. WHAT WOULD LIFE LOOK LIKE IF I
ACHIEVED ALL MY GOALS AND
DREAMS
Well my dream since I was four years old was to be a major league
baseball player. It continues to be my dream to this day. Not only
have I wanted to just play in The Show, I wanted to strive there. It is a
possibility that I believe will happen.
Life would be amazing if I were to make it. I would have more money
than I would know what to do with, and I would have the best job in
the world. Having more money would lead to me having a peace of
mind. And you can never put a price tag on that.

11. WHO WOULD BE THERE WITH ME?
If I was a famous and rich baseball player I would want a girl that was
with me before I had the money or whatever comes along with that
life. I would hate to be with someone that was only with me for what I
was and not who I am. I would have my family and my closest friends
who have been there from the beginning. I would make sure they are
always happy and taken care of.
That dream scares me and gives me the chills. That’s how you know
it’s the right dream. I feel like if I got there, I would lead a happy life.
A happy life is really all you can ask for at the end of the day.
