A boy is framed for a hacking crime he did not commit and sent to a prison school. He must try to uncover who stole his identity and framed him. The main character is awkward but determined to prove his innocence. Other characters include an aggressive bully and a bitter, depressed teacher. The show would focus on technology and identity theft themes, using a question mark branding to represent the mystery of who framed the main character.
UPDATE: 3/14/22: We ultimately decided that "murder," although it was EXACTLY what happened to the young woman in the case we were modeling this after, was "too much" for someone to absorb at one time, so we have removed that from the overall story. We also reduced our scope so a user only meets Lisa and gets to know her BEFORE she goes on her date. The fiction behind the overall story has not been released to the public yet, but she will NOT be murdered, as we originally planned... She will have been injured. And your job will be to catch the john and the pimp before she wakes up. The reality of human trafficking is far more brutal than most people are able to comprehend, so we felt it was better to pull it back to something more acceptable to the public.

This is our original design / pitch for TRAPPED. It gives a high level view of what we're working to accomplish.
Overview
Solve the assault of a victim of sex trafficking in virtual reality.
Lisa was 13 when she met a boy online. She started sneaking out with him until he convinced her to start prostituting herself. A year later, she goes on a “date” with a John, who assaults her. You are the detective that takes the call, processes the scene, attempts to assemble the clues to catch the John, and eventually her pimp.
Players are shown how many people are pulled into the sex trafficking industry as well as how people can become survivors.
While the topic of the game is sex trafficking, there is no sex or nudity in the game. There are references to sex, prostitution, and assault, presented as part of the fictional narrative in an honest, authentic manner based upon conversations with prosecutors, survivors, and survivor counselors.

Title: Sense of Smell
Presenter: Dr. Faiza, Assistant Professor of Physiology
Qualifications:
MBBS (Best Graduate, AIMC Lahore)
FCPS Physiology
ICMT, CHPE, DHPE (STMU)
MPH (GC University, Faisalabad)
MBA (Virtual University of Pakistan)
Learning Objectives:
Describe the primary categories of smells and the concept of odor blindness.
Explain the structure and location of the olfactory membrane and mucosa, including the types and roles of cells involved in olfaction.
Describe the pathway and mechanisms of olfactory signal transmission from the olfactory receptors to the brain.
Illustrate the biochemical cascade triggered by odorant binding to olfactory receptors, including the role of G-proteins and second messengers in generating an action potential.
Identify different types of olfactory disorders such as anosmia, hyposmia, hyperosmia, and dysosmia, including their potential causes.
Key Topics:
Olfactory Genes:
3% of the human genome accounts for olfactory genes.
400 genes for odorant receptors.
Olfactory Membrane:
Located in the superior part of the nasal cavity.
Medially: Folds downward along the superior septum.
Laterally: Folds over the superior turbinate and upper surface of the middle turbinate.
Total surface area: 5-10 square centimeters.
Olfactory Mucosa:
Olfactory Cells: Bipolar nerve cells derived from the CNS (100 million), with 4-25 olfactory cilia per cell.
Sustentacular Cells: Produce mucus and maintain ionic and molecular environment.
Basal Cells: Replace worn-out olfactory cells with an average lifespan of 1-2 months.
Bowman’s Gland: Secretes mucus.
Stimulation of Olfactory Cells:
Odorant dissolves in mucus and attaches to receptors on olfactory cilia.
Involves a cascade effect through G-proteins and second messengers, leading to depolarization and action potential generation in the olfactory nerve.
Quality of a Good Odorant:
Small (3-20 Carbon atoms), volatile, water-soluble, and lipid-soluble.
Facilitated by odorant-binding proteins in mucus.
Membrane Potential and Action Potential:
Resting membrane potential: -55mV.
Action potential frequency in the olfactory nerve increases with odorant strength.
Adaptation Towards the Sense of Smell:
Rapid adaptation within the first second, with further slow adaptation.
Psychological adaptation greater than receptor adaptation, involving feedback inhibition from the central nervous system.
Primary Sensations of Smell:
Camphoraceous, Musky, Floral, Pepperminty, Ethereal, Pungent, Putrid.
Odor Detection Threshold:
Examples: Hydrogen sulfide (0.0005 ppm), Methyl-mercaptan (0.002 ppm).
Some toxic substances are odorless at lethal concentrations.
Characteristics of Smell:
Odor blindness for single substances due to lack of appropriate receptor protein.
Behavioral and emotional influences of smell.
Transmission of Olfactory Signals:
From olfactory cells to glomeruli in the olfactory bulb, involving lateral inhibition.
Primitive, less old, and new olfactory systems with different path

2. Overview
A boy is sent to a prison based
school for hacking into
government documents and
leaking videos. However he
didn’t actually commit the crime
and and was framed after his
information got stolen trying to
sign up for a website. He tries to
learn how to track down the
people who stole his
information and prove them
guilty so he can be leave the
prison school.
3. Characters
Main character- sentenced wrongly accused of a hacking crime that he didn't’t do.
He is awkward and nerdy and fits the ideal description of the hacker. Spends a lot of time
on the internet and knows the internet well but doesn't’t know anything about hacking
only having seen moves and videos about hacking.
However becomes driven and confident in the new environment because of his goal to find
out who framed him. He is able to win over and out smart the rest of his class to get them
to help him.
He lacks confidence deep down but has to put on a character for the class.
He is always reassuring the others that he didn’t commit the crimes he was framed for.
Appearance
Stereotypical nerd
style, wearing
glasses and t-shirts
that are related to
games and pop
culture
4. bill
Aggressive guy character- big guy with tough act and mean.
He got caught up in a street fight and ended up with him murdering
the other person but is too young to go to prison.
He is dopy and clueless often just believing things at face value.
He tries to keep a tough outer appearance but is actually very soft and
sensitive
He doesn’t have a relationship with any family or friends which upsets him and
causes him to be softer than he looks deeper down.
Wears clothes that
make him seem
stereotypically tough,
a vest, jeans and a
vest.
5. Teacher
Teacher he's extremely pessimistic and doesn't care for his students at all as
he has been teaching in the prison school for much longer than he wanted
to and never got to live out his life ambitions causing him to take it out on
the kids in the class.
He is depressed and grumpy bringing down the mood of everyone else.
Lives on his own and doesn't’t like to be around others because he is a
bitter person and has given up hope in life of getting along with people. He
prefers his own company, only talking to himself as he moans about others
to himself only.
He wears normal attire of a
teacher, shirt , tie and
trousers however looks
scruffy having a shirt that
doesn’t fit him, stains and
marks all over his clothes.
He also has glasses that are
broken that constantly
cause him frustration
Appearance
6. Branding
The branding needs to communicate the themes of technology and hacking but also bring
attention to the behavior of people. I want it to communicate the message that the show is
interactive and covers new and relevant topics about false allegations and the ability to steal
and use others identity on the internet. The title graphic for example with mesh the themes of
imprisonments and hacking to accurately show what the show is about. I would use cold blues
and silvers to further support the idea of technology but could also use textures such as brick
to enforce the idea of imprisonment. A use of a question mark as a brand ident for the
mystery part of the show could also be easily spread over social media possibly gaining more
viewers to the show and website. The mystery character that is guilty being introduced at the
start and referring to them as the question mark can be extremely spreadable across a range
of media. Having a voting feature for who the mystery character is also can get talk about the
show across a range of social media bringing people to the website and show itself.
7. Initial ideas
Opens with the boy on his laptop signing up for a website and then shows an error.
Cuts to new report stating that a hacker has leaked videos of members of
parliament and he has been found and arrested. This boy is revealed to be the boy
we are introduced to at the beginning. The boy goes in for his first lesson in his
prison school class. As he goes in all of the class are shocked and praise him for
doing something so serious but he gets frustrated stating that he didn't do it and
explains to them why he didn't’t. the opening ends on him getting an email saying
that the person that actually did it is in his class.
8. Initial website ideas
Website to look in hacking style with lots of computer and hacking styled graphic's. The ability to
watch previous episodes and interact with the show by having a voting on who they think the person
that did it is.
The website will contain a catch up hyperlink so that people can always stay up to date.
Character profiles to allow the audience to find out about each individual character and new people
to the show to get to know them very fast. Links to social media accounts for the show.
A blog written from the perspective of our main character writhing a journal as he finds out more
about who framed him and his classmates
The features such as the voting, mystery character ident and the journal will encourage the audience
to keep interacting with the show especially as the target audience of the show would enjoy
theorising about who the mystery character may be
