Claire is a 17-year-old black African female college student who is violently abused by her father at home. She is antisocial and isolated at school due to the abuse. The film will follow Claire as she has an argument at school, is abused by her father that evening, and finally reports the abuse to her teacher the next day. It will be a 3-5 minute short film in the action genre to raise awareness of child abuse and empower victims to speak up. Low-key lighting and close-ups will be used to convey Claire's vulnerability and emotion.

We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
The French Revolution, which began in 1789, was a period of radical social and political upheaval in France. It marked the decline of absolute monarchies, the rise of secular and democratic republics, and the eventual rise of Napoleon Bonaparte. This revolutionary period is crucial in understanding the transition from feudalism to modernity in Europe.

Overview on Edible Vaccine: Pros & Cons with Mechanism
Final pitch
1. Final : Pitch For
Short Film
Working title: Enough
Genre: Short film, Action
Duration: 3 minute long (maximum 5 minutes)
2. Target Audience: My core audience is between the ages of
15 - 30. Male and female, it has violent scenes therefore the
beginning age is 15. The audience can be of any class and
status.
3. Outline: Claire, is in college and she is in lesson and gets into an argument with
a colleague and then a teacher. She storms out of lesson and runs to the toilets
and cries and washes her face. She is very antisocial and isolates herself in her
own corner and doesn’t really have many friends because she pushes them away
as she is on edge about everyone. She also has bruises on her body and face
(Beginning). She goes home and locks herself in her room as she doesn't want to
deal with her dad, however he starts knocking really hard and manages to open
the door and he comes in and begins hurting her. There is screaming going on
she begs for him to stop. Until she manages to push her dad away and gets up
and runaway (middle). Next day she goes into school and finally decides to speak
to her teacher as she can’t take it anymore, the teacher then helps her (end).
4. Character Breakdown:
Name: Claire
Age:17
Race: Black African
Gender: Female
Profession: She is in college doing A levels
Personality: She is very antisocial and doesn't have many friends. She isolates
herself as she is violently abused by her father so she doesn't trust easily and
doesn't really know how to act around people.
5. Visual Elements:
Lighting - Low Key, because it is a sad storyline and therefore it can create the mood
of sadness.
Camera Movement - High angles (make her look vulnerable) Middle shots, close ups
(to show her emotion to the audience) tracking shot.
Editing - Slow motion
Setting - School corridor, house
Actors - Claudia(main character female) teacher (female) Dad (Male)
Costume - normal casual clothing
6. Audio Elements:
Soundtrack - fast paced (ending) slow ‘sad’ (beginning)
Effects - Door knocking, door slamming, body hitting
7. Rationale: I chose this idea because children being violently abused by their
parents happens a lot, and it's a problem that not everyone can speak up about,
because the individuals affected are scared and fear that it will only get worse. So
I chose to do this topic because whoever sees it and might be going through the
same problem might end up having a voice and wanting to make a choice in their
life. However I know that it is a very sensitive subject to talk about and show but
hopefully it can show audiences what actually happens in real life and that some
people really aren't fortunate to go home and have a loving atmosphere. So my
short film is to show realism.
8. Primary and Secondary Research:
The NSPCC estimated that over half a million children are abused in the UK each year. Meaning 1 in 14
children are physically abused.NSPCC - over 6000 children were identified as needing protection from physical
abuse last year.
There are many types of child abuse:
- Domestic Abuse
- Neglect
- Sexual Abuse
- Online Abuse
- Physical Abuse
- Emotional Abuse
- Female Genital Mutilation
- Child Trafficking
- Grooming
- Bullying and Cyberbullying
9. Requirements and resources:
I'm gonna need a camera person and also a lighting person.
I'm going to use the harrow college cameras and also two scenes will be shot in
harrow college. We are gonna need to record a scene in a house, we will need
permission to take the camera home and keep for a few days etc.
Constraints and contingency:
The problems we might encounter is the lighting, especially inside the college and
inside the house, it might be too dark so we might have to use extra lights.
