Reasons for creating Truly magazine


Women's lifestyle magazines are giving teenage girls the wrong
impression. Instead of celebrating individuality we are brought
up with the idea of copying models and celebrities.



I feel it is important to encourage discussion and to talk about
serious issues.



Writing articles about current topic to educate a teenage
audience is something a would thoroughly enjoy allow me to
help others who may not be as confident and happy as I am.



Constraints- The Press Complaints Commission
The PCC legalises certain rules that journalist must abide by to
protect the welfare of others. This concerns subjects such as
accuracy, harassment , children, clandestine devices, and
discrimination . To ensure no codes are broken I have five rules I
will follow throughout my magazine.

I will seek consent from the parents/guardians of any of my models
as all are still under the authority of their parents. To protect against
breaking the children code.
I will seek permission of the person holding the copyrights over any
information I gather, in order no to go against copyright laws.
I will ensure all facts and statistics are collected from trustworthy
sources. To abide by the accuracy code.
All photography will be done by myself, none will be taken from the
internet or other sources to risk breaking copyright laws.
Any content which includes photography or content of an individual
will be checked over by that individual pre-production.

You must also produce your magazine for a specific audience segment within the 16 to 25 age group.”
  • 3. + How I intend to meet the Brief To ensure I meet the brief I have done the following: Self financed The Northern Echo= ABC1 Created a magazine= B-C2 Affordable Niche Hybrid Advertising TNE Style mode
  • 4. + Reasons for creating Truly magazine  Women's lifestyle magazines are giving teenage girls the wrong impression. Instead of celebrating individuality we are brought up with the idea of copying models and celebrities.  I feel it is important to encourage discussion and to talk about serious issues.  Writing articles about current topic to educate a teenage audience is something a would thoroughly enjoy allow me to help others who may not be as confident and happy as I am.  Ready to blend genres and create a different magazine  Common ground with my target audience.
  • 5. + Audience Profile  Aimed at the tribe “Leading Edge” which influences all of the other tribes -Age 16-24 -Teenage girls as primary target audience -B-C2 socioeconomic grouping -Educational status school, college or university -£2 low price considering the quality of content -Similar magazine's cost approximately £1.50-£3 (content is never as varied)
  • 6. + To be considered  Secondary Audience includes the readers of The Northern Echo parents, and siblings.  In order to ensure the content is appropriate and the secondary target audience are happy there must be none of the following: -No taboo language -No nudity -No inappropriate content - I will advertise local companies
  • 7. + Create a magazine suitable for my target audience Use style modes which are similar to my ideas and are popular with my TA Models same age as TA Language which is intelligent but not complex Price of magazine is affordable Wide variety of content Balance of serious and light hearted content Use creatively young vibrant layouts to attract my TA Have a balanced text to image ratio Fonts which are clear but edgy and fun
  • 8. + To be considered Constraints- The Press Complaints Commission The PCC legalises certain rules that journalist must abide by to protect the welfare of others. This concerns subjects such as accuracy, harassment , children, clandestine devices, and discrimination . To ensure no codes are broken I have five rules I will follow throughout my magazine.
  • 9. + Five rules to be followed 1 2 3 4 5 I will seek consent from the parents/guardians of any of my models as all are still under the authority of their parents. To protect against breaking the children code. I will seek permission of the person holding the copyrights over any information I gather, in order no to go against copyright laws. I will ensure all facts and statistics are collected from trustworthy sources. To abide by the accuracy code. All photography will be done by myself, none will be taken from the internet or other sources to risk breaking copyright laws. Any content which includes photography or content of an individual will be checked over by that individual pre-production.

The word embrace is an inviting message creating a powerful invitation to happiness. Artistic simple main image suggests nature is the key feature in the issue Tagline and ethos of the magazine matches tone of cover. Statement colour links with image. Special features new is in block capitals. Main sell line The grey background is simple and does not distract from the main sell lines and image. Banner adds interest to the page includes extra sell lines, clever with layout
