Structured identification of conflicts and Ideal solutions
Focusing on different recourses available, to get large out of less
Overcoming distinguish chunks through approaches that have worked in other
directions.
Principles of TRIZ
• All Invention are made of 40 and only 40 principles
• Althuller derived from a study of > 2M of patent
• Prohibition of compromises. Eliminate them

it. Intelligence means finding that compound and adapting it to the latest issue.

Determine the problem
To Identify the modelling system being studied; its operating environment, resources requirement,
primary useful function, harmful effects, and ideal results.
Observation: A beverage can.
a. An engineering system to contain a beverage.
b. Operating environment is that cans are stacked for storage purposes.
c. Resources include weight of filled cans, internal pressure of can. Rigidity of can contribution.
d. Primary useful function is to contain beverages.
e. Harmful effects include cost of materials & producing can and waste of storage space.
f. Idea results is a can that can support the weight of stacking to human height without damage
to cons or beverages in cans.
Formulate the problem
Restate the issue in term of physical contradictions>Determine issue that could
occur> Could improving one technical features to solve a issue cause other
technical feature to worsen.
Examples: We cannot control the height to which cans will be stacked. The price
of raw material compels us lower costs. The can walls must be made thinner to
reduce price, but if we make the walls thinner, it cannot support as large a
stacking load.
Thus, the can will needs to lower material cost and thicker to supports stacking
load weight.
Conclusion
Innovative concepts are critical and a necessity to drive the optimization efforts
to design new products or redesign existing processes or products. As usually to
defining a perfect solution for a critical problems is necessary. Should be flexible
to environmental changes. Able to find solutions outside the field where they
were developed. However, time and cost-effective.

Examples: We cannot control the height to which cans will be stacked. The price of raw material compels us lower costs. The can walls must be made thinner to reduce price, but if we make the walls thinner, it cannot support as large a stacking load. Thus, the can will needs to lower material cost and thicker to supports stacking load weight.
