Trip to Brno
We began our trip to Brno on the 23th September from Zagreb Central Railway
Station. Although it was a long trip, with a short stop in Austria’s capital Vienna,
we arrived safe and sound around 16:40 in the afternoon.
We couldn’t wait in our hotel for too long. After a short break, we immediately
went for a walk around the city centre. The next day, after our student
workshop, we presented our work in front of all the participants in the project.
Our topic for this meeting was “Foreign influence in Croatian cuisine”.
After the presentation, we went to see the cantine museum that is in the new
city hall, and then we went sightseeing. After that we had free time to go to
lunch or to the hotel. The next day, early in the morning we went to the
Mikulov Chateau where we saw the traditional tools for making wine and we
saw the biggest wine barrel!
Later that day we went to see and hear the modern techniques of making wine
in one of the local wine factories.
On our last day we went to the brewery Litovel where we bought beer. After
that, we went to the museum of special type of cheese or as the locals call it
“Tvaružku” and after that we went to the fairy tale castle called Bouzov-the
Knights castle.
I had a great time in Brno, it’s a city full of wonderful monuments and
wonderful people and I felt very sad to go.
