The working title of the film is "I'll get what I want" which describes the main character Lauren's intentions. The film will be roughly 10 minutes long to tell the story without dragging. The tagline is "They say people can change. But can then?" The film follows Lauren, a 17-year old girl who uses boys through social media without intention of meeting them, and Brad, a new boy at school who develops feelings for Lauren. Act 1 introduces Lauren messaging many boys on Snapchat and seeing Brad at school. In Act 2, Lauren messages Brad and develops feelings for him as he shows her kindness. In Act 3, Lauren admits to Brad that she likes him and will stop messaging other boys. The target

1. Treatment 1:
Working Title: At the moment I’m considering ‘I’ll get what I want’
as my working title, because it describes perfectly the intensions
of Lauren in the film.
Film Length: I think my film will roughly be 10 minutes because I
need enough time to tell the story but I don’t want it to drag on.
Tagline: My tagline is ‘They say people can change. But can then?’ I
wanted to get across the message of the film but not give away how
it ends.
Key Characters: Lauren is a 17 year old girl, who lives with her mum
after her dad walked out on them when she was 12. She is very
selfish and arrogant and does whatever she can to ensure that she
gets whatever she wants. She is boy crazy and thinks she can treat
boys like dirt after what her dad did to her and her mum.
Brad is a 17 year old boy, who has just moved his mum and dad is a
happy home. He is smart and kind and is always looking out for
others. He’s a good looking guy, but doesn’t know how to approach
the idea of ‘talking to girls’ as he’s fairly awkward.
Synopsis:
Act 1: Lauren is boy crazy and is messaging way too many boys on
snapchat. She doesn’t see how what she’s doing is wrong and just
uses boys, with no intension of actually seeing them. She uses her
dad as an excuse saying ‘dad didn’t treat us right so why should I
treat other guy’s right’. She goes to school and sees a new guy at
school called Brad. Brad messages her after school and she starts
thinking that he’s going to be her next target. She messages him
that evening and starts showing an interest.
Act 2: She messages him again that evening and is saying how she
wants to see him tomorrow. Brad tries to steer Lauren away from this
idea because thinks he actually might like her but he knows that she
is just after something else. After a few more evenings of talking
and Brad being nice to Lauren he starts subtly trying to show how he
likes her. Lauren starts seeing a different side to him and starts
developing feelings too but doesn’t know how to tell Brad.
Act 3: The next day Lauren takes Brad aside at school and admits
that she likes him. Brad says that he thought she was after
something else, but Lauren reassures him that she does really like
him and says that she’s not going to message anymore guys.
Target Audience: My target audience for my short film would be
between the ages of 13 and 19. This is because they would be able to
empathise the characters. If the target audience was older, they
would appreatiate or understand the use of snapchat and other social
media. I think the target audience will most likely be The
Mainstream from the 4CS, because they’re quite stereotypical and
that’s who my film is aimed at.

2. Form and Style: My film will be set now and therefore won’t have any
filters or styles to it. I will film it with cinematography that
fits the shot best and highlights what I want to be highlighted. For
example, when there are clips of the phones I will shoot in close
ups so the audience can see what’s going on and cut from scene to
scene of the two conversations.
Marketplace: I think there is a place in the market for my film. I
think it’s similar to other films but different because it reverses
the stereotypes and could change the views of the younger
generation.
