Facilitator’s Profile
Rekha Prabagaran is a graduate of Monash University from Melbourne,
Australia with a Bachelor of Business in Banking & Finance (Major in
Accounting) and a member of CPA Australia since Year 2011.
Rekha has almost 20 years of working experience in various industries.
She assumed positions of Head of Finance & Administration, Accounts &
Human Resource Manager, Senior Technical Executive with the Malaysian
Institute of Accountants, External Auditor & AMLA-CFT compliance officer
with one of the Big 4 audit firms in Malaysia, as well as training for
various business sectors, including Education, Automobile, Professionals,
Media & Broadcasting, Pharmaceuticals & Manufacturing.
Some of the portfolios that she has undertaken during her tenure in the
various organisations ranges from Writing policies & procedures, Setting
up departments, Implementing Human Resources & Customer Service
initiatives, Organising Accounts, Payroll & Administration Departments,
Complains management, Recruitment & Selection, Standardisation of
accounting methods and practices, Induction Programs, Investigation,
Statutory Reporting, Training on Practical accounting software
implementation and Conducting customer satisfaction surveys.
Her area of expertise for training has been in Goods & Services Tax (GST),
Finance for Non-finance Personnel and Accounting courses ranging from
Basic to Advance levels for more than 120 companies in the past 15

She has also conducted many public seminars. At present, she is
consulting on GST related matters to provide companies with a practical
approach to submit accurate GST returns and to enhance their existing
internal control procedures.
She strongly believes in upholding transparency in reporting and in
preventing corporate fraud to succeed in today’s business environment.
In the contemporary world where corporate social responsibility (CSR) is
increasingly gaining prominence, she believes that enhancing her
knowledge in triple bottom-line reporting; which includes sustainability
reporting of a corporate entity has become part of an organisation’s
culture.
