Currently, I serve as Chief Accountant, which I believe will make transitioning into your organization a simple and smooth

The following is a synopsis of my qualifications and in excess of fifteen (15) years of work experience, of which, ten (10) years
was in a managerial capacity. Both my qualification and experience will further attest to my skills and expertise that have
qualified me as a strong contender for this job.
Qualifications, experiences & Leadership
(i) Qualification/Education
ACCA – completed.
My qualifications have allowed me to be strategic and analytical in my approach in management. This has allowed me to
provide strategic advice to several senior /key officers within the company. I have written some accounting procedures
and review systems guideline with an objective view to ensure efficiency and effectiveness. My qualifications are a
mixture of Finance, Business, General Administration, Auditing, and Information system, Human Resources, Marketing
Project Management and Agriculture.
(ii) Work Experiences
In the capacity of Chief Accountant at the University of Guyana, I am task with the responsibility to supervise the
Accounts Dept. (Bursary) which comprise of more than fifteen (15) staff. Over the years, my stewardship & commitment
in this position has reward me to be the key user of Oracle Financial that the company has implemented. After the
implementation of the Oracle Financial, I was entrusted with the assignment to train the Accountants and Finance
Managers in the OECS. I am currently engage with overseas software supplier for bidding of a Human Resources, Payroll
and Accounting Software to be implemented in the Finance Unit. I will be required to play a key role in this project.
Attended specialized training in El Salvador during 24-28 Sept 2012, for Director of Finance and Finance Managers on
the usage of Hyperion and Smart view in an effort to better prepare Budget, cash flow and other administrative activities.
This training was further enhanced in Jamaica in January 2013.
Appointed in August 2014 as a key member to Reform and Restructure an institution that has existed over 20 years that
has Structural and System challenges.
As part of the company’s succession planning, I was trained in preparation whenever the need arises to fill the position
of Director of Finance. My experiences also include several other aspects other than finance; which include Operation,
Credit and Information system. I also participated in several strategic meetings in order to provide innovative and Value
Base Management with the use (Benchmarking, SWOT analysis and Balance score cards).
Working in a competitive environment has lent support to my long term vision. My function at this institution provides
regular discussion with non- Finance Manager in regards to the development of the company and sustained growth.
(iii) Leadership and Development
Currently I supervise three Accountant and in excess of ten (10) staff. I was also engaged in Monitoring & Training ten (10)
staff at Unicomer Guyana Inc.
I was selected to be part of the recent meeting for Directors of Finance and Finance Manager held in Miami (USA), as part of
our training to produce great results and consistent quality Finance reports for our stakeholders.
Manages a team which includes academic and professional employees in the areas of Business, Procurement, Internal
Controls, Finance, and Project.
Team leader for the implementation of a strategic Software (Information System) for a large institution.
I am often willing to enforce Corporate Governance and Best Practice so that the organization can maximize its
potentials.

through innovative and Value Based Management.
• Seek opportunities for the growth/expansion of the business through Corporate Appraisal (SWOT
Analysis).
• Start an MBA with the aim of completing the same in 2016. After the completion of the MBA, I will then

Achievements
• Assisted with the major preparation of a strategic document to increase revenue from the customers at a
learning institution and it was approved at the initial submission by all member of the Board of Directors
(Council).
• The team that is entrusted to me is required to produce accurate and timely financial information in accordance with
the company’s policies. I was able to train and development /guide the Finance staff to improve their knowledge in
the area of Accounting and Finance; this has led to 85% of staff studying for ACCA, compare to 25% at the time of
my entry.
• I have completed the Mentoring programme in Sept 2010 established by Unicomer (Guyana) Inc. to become an
Executive staff. (Director).
• I was part of a dynamic company that reduced the time for the submission of monthly financial report from 21 days
to 5 days. I was also able to provide all the supporting reports/reconciliations to justify the monthly financial
reports.
• Written financial procedures/policies for the some of the companies that I was serve, e.g. Bailiff Payments
which reduces cheque preparation from about 100 to now 7 per fortnight & Inventory processing.
• Introduction of Value Added Taxation (VAT) system to our organization and assessing the impact on the
business and recoverable of Consumption tax paid. Design a format for monthly computation of VAT and this
format has since been shared with the OECS.
• Attended a World Bank Seminar in Trinidad & Tobago for one week to review Fiduciary Financial
Management of World bank projects. A certificate was provided.
• I was promoted twice by two previous organizations (employers) within six (6) months of my employment.
• Awarded as the Runner up Employee of the year (1997) at Demerara Mutual Life
Assurance Society LTD.
• Best graduating student at Dora Secondary school.
• Often selected to complete task with short timeline due to my passion for accuracy.
• Selected and worked as a Juror at the Supreme Court in Guyana.

training and upon my return, I was tasked with the responsible to sensitize and train the local staff with the assistance of
the experts of this accounting software. Resulting from my understanding and exposure to this software, I was asked to
provide Training to the Accountant in the OECS (St Lucia, St Vincent, St Kitts, and Antigua, Dominica).
