3. CS COURSE is mainly divided into three stages - FOUNDATION ,EXECUTIVE
, and PRPFESSIONAL stage.
Where, to become a CS, passing Executive and Professonal stage is
mandatory, Foundation is optional to few category of candidates.
Each level has its specific Eligibility, Subjects with Difficulty levels and Fees.
Exams are held twice a year, June and December, for every stage.
Pre-Exam Test is introduced for Executive and Professional stage from
2018.
Compulsory Practical Training and MSOP to become a Company Secretory.
Flexible Course, can be simultaniously persued with regular graduations.
Continuous Academic Support from ICSI.

4. • THE COMPANIES ACT, 2013 , confers a special status to Company
Secretary as the Key Managerial Personnel and has bracketed him
along with MD or CEO or Manager , Whole-time Directors or CFO.
• For EVERY LISTED COMPANIES and Other Eligible Public and Private
Companies as per THE ACT.
• CS are now also getting apponted in various other departments in an
organization like Finance, Personnel, Corporate Governence, Legal or
Marketting Department, for their Expert Knowledge in the relevent
fields.
• Getting employments in Government Departments.

5. COMPANY SECRETARY IN PRACTICE
• As per the requrement of the new Companies Act, Secretarial Audit can only be
performed by an independent Practicing CS, for every Listed Companies and other
Eligible Public companies.
• PROMOTION, FORMATION and INCORPORATION OF COMPANIES and related matters.
• Can work as a Technical Officer in National Company Law Tribunal.
• Handling Corporate Restructuring, Takeover, Liquidation Process and look after the
compliances.
• Can act as a Registered Valuer, Insolvency Professinal, Serious Fraud Investigating
Officer, etc.
• Can be apponted as an Internal Auditor.
• Can develop a Corporate Compliance Management System and Social Sustainability
Framework for companies, etc.
• And several other functions are performed by Practicing Company Secretaries.

6. MY CONCLUSION
CS is a highly rewarding course, gives lots of oppotunities to its Members;
be it in Flexible Education(Distance Learning) or in Higher Education(for
PhD courses) ; as a Dedicated CS Professional in Companies (KMP) OR IN
Practice or in various Government Sectors.
Though Company Secretary Program creates a wide range of employment
opportunities, but it entirely depends upon us how we actually Utilize
this Course and ESTABLISH OUR PROFESSINALISM AS A CS IN THE
COMPETING JOB MARKETS AS WELL AS IN PRACTICE, TO WIDEN THE
SCOPES OF CS AND TO DEVELOP CS PROFESSION AS ONE OF THE
