INTRODUCTION

             TPI: TEACHING PERSPECTIVE INVENTORY

TPI. “The Teaching Perspectives Inventory” can help you collect your
thoughts and summarize your ideas about teaching. It can be useful in
examining your own teaching as well as helping clarify the teaching views of
other people.

I had to do a test where I found questions which I had not realised, this
means, they made me read and do, and some others which I answered
blindly because I do it in my sessions.

The test is very well-focused, I suggest this self-test to Educators, not only
to fill in the answers, but to think, analyze the questions and statements
written there in.
1. It will help you clarify your teaching behavior, values and beliefs. And to learn
more about your perspectives on teaching, learning and knowledge. This way I
can see my weakness and strengths to target a reliable teaching.

2. Sometimes Educators “think” they have all Educational beliefs, and this is
false because we make mistakes which I would describe as “Pedagogical
Tsunami” and the consequences are very destructive at the end. This is why
this ITP test was very useful for me.

3. Educational intentions should not be called “Educational “ sometimes because
most of Educators forget Education has to be linked to Psycology. Most
Educators treat students in a destructive way, they forget self-esteem is
being attacked and they stop the process of learning. Education means
   construction NOT distruction.

Educational actions is another problem Educators do not have in mind. Most of
Educators are “teacher centered” They go talking and talking, and students
just listen and listen, without having any output from them, that is why
Educators do not relate their topics to real life. Education has to be related
to real life examples, task to have students practice and live their
   experience.

   4. ITP will help you understand and interpret your profile. Perspectives allows
teachers to accommodate changes in context, content, and learners.
Common sense requires that no one can operate from all five
simultaneously, since they represent contrasting and sometimes
competitive teaching. On your profile sheet you also have sub-scores for
Beliefs, Intention, and Actions within each perspective. These scores will
help you identify your philosophy of teaching by outlining whether your
views within a perspective are different or equally in what you believe,
what you try to accomplish, or what educational actions you take in your
       teaching.
